Speaker 1 (00:00):
Number one on your car radio preset hand, the new
and improved Diehard Radio app WD two seven break Dates,
the let Out, the Ice, Fox Sports Radio, the Gambling.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Hello everyone to welcome on into Week two of the Sickos, Myself, Joe, Sandy, Mark,
Henry Jr.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
And Ryan Beef Coil.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Look, it's not the best week too, Slate Week one
came out the gates, guns blazing, and all of a sudden,
we have won top twenty five game with a team
that might not be a top twenty five team in
a few weeks. We've got some nice rivalry games, but
that's why we're here. We're here to give you all
the sickest bets. And I don't mean that in like
(00:58):
the cool sea. We're here to give you like the
money and the crumbs sick bets for week two of
college football. And look, these are the weeks traditionally when
that no big games happen, that chaos kind of comes
to ensued. Now I'm not talking big upsets like they
usually do sometimes, but I think some chaos is definitely
(01:21):
in the mix this weekend. There's some robbery games, some
potential traps out on the board. But before we really
get into week two. The biggest takeaway from week one
is blank.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
I'll go first, the Alabama Dynasty is on life support.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
I won't say a fifthly dead yet, but you can
get another loss or too before October's over.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
I think you can officially clear it dead.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
That was an embarrassing performance from start to finish. They
got their ass kicked both both lines of scrimmages.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Their effort was terrible.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
You saw multiple case guys are walking around the field,
jogging around the field.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Nobody's afraid of them anymore.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
Nobody's afraid of that sticker on the helmet, Saban's on
over there. They don't have that intimidation factor that they
used to. You remember that the National Championship. Sorry to
bring it up, Mark, but against Notre Dame, it looked
like Notre Dame was literally afraid of them to go
out there and meet them on the field. And you
know that that program is long gone now, So pretty
wild kind of turn of events. Four losses to unranked
(02:26):
teams in fourteen games for the boor started out five
and oh he's now five and four since then, so
really has struggled and it hasn't been pretty. And you
look at the roster, You're like, does it change soon?
Is it all in the quarterback? Is it on the
last scrimmage? It's gonna be I think that the story
of the year to watch how far Alabama can really fall.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Mark's biggest takeaway of Week one for you is I'm.
Speaker 6 (02:50):
Tempted to go with one of the bigger games of
the week, but I'm actually not going to. I'm gonna
go with maybe a little bit more off the But
I think Devin dan Pierre makes Utah the like far
and away and DC, you look pretty good Monday too,
but in my head like Utah is now my Big
(03:13):
twelve champion until further notice. Not that UCLA as anything special,
and I think none of us expected them to be,
but it was more about the look and how Dan
Pierre looked and how Utah looked as a whole, and
they felt like Utah again. They felt like the Kyle
Whittingham teams that we had gotten used to until that
(03:33):
little weird era of real he won't.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Be with cam rising.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
And now that that's done and now that they've kind
of moved on fully as a program, it does feel
like Utah might be here for you know, the foreseeable
future to run the Big twelve and the way that
they kind of ran the Pac twelve. I think they're
probably like the toughest of the bunch. And then now
you have this running back or this running quarterback who
is going to be an absolute menace to deal with.
Speaker 7 (04:00):
I will also say, just.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
To to my own horn, I think the biggest takeaway
from the big games, not touching on Beef's one, I'll
say is that I think everything I was saying about
Clemson's correct.
Speaker 7 (04:13):
Maybe Clemson will be the best team in the ACC.
Speaker 6 (04:16):
Maybe they will run away with the conference and you know,
go undefeated in the a SEC.
Speaker 7 (04:20):
For all, I know.
Speaker 6 (04:21):
That team is not a national title contender, and cade
Klobe nick every single time they play against a big
time school, comes out and struggles. You look at South
Carolina last year at the end of the year, you
look at the they had another SEC game that the Georgia. Yes,
the opening game last year against Georgia where he was brutal.
(04:42):
He was terrible last week against LSU. Mostly he was
mostly bad in that playoff game. I think he had
like a really good quarter and if you took that
quarter out, he would have had like a terrible game.
So I just think that should be back to reality
for the people who picking Clemson as a national champion.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
My biggest takeaway from week one is that I might.
Speaker 7 (05:09):
Did he cut out for you there, beef? Yeah, he
cut out for me as well. That that was a
cliffhanger right there. He left it there it is. I
think he's back.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Yeah, I left you guys hanging because my take might
be so bad. My biggest takeaway is that my Carson
Beck take might be in a lot of trouble. Look,
only one game. You don't know what's gonna happen. But
my Carson Beck take is in trouble.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
I'm in the I think I'm in probably even deeper
s I A s H I C than you maybe
with that, but I think that's one of those things
where my feet are dug in the sand on and
it's it's either gonna make the.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Same or really dumb.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
And it's a situation where we still got a lot
of football, and you look at that schedule. Now, that
Florida State game is a lot harder. The Florida game
is going to be tough. The US do they play
US f as well? I think I think that's how
gonna get a cupcake. So they're gonna have some tough
games coming up.
Speaker 6 (06:04):
Man.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
As as we talked about before, cam Ward was the
number one overall pick last year and might have been
the Heisman if it weren't for a couple of those
losses down the stretch and Travis Hunter and Gentsy having
crazy seasons.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Miami under christ Ball has been known to drop some
of those games.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
So we'll we'll kind of pump the brakes still, I
think a little bit. But it was an impressive Week
one performance and again to a Notre Dad.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Mario Christaball in November. Mario Crystaball in November will still exist.
Speaker 7 (06:30):
Christa Ball was trying to crystal Ball at the Yeah,
he was.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
He was. He was playing with fig a little bit,
that's for sure.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:38):
I would say I'm not gonna have much of a
take from that game.
Speaker 7 (06:43):
I don't know what to take away.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Notre Ding was so bad for forty minutes of that game.
I think it's a little telling that they were able
to be that bad and then tie the game up
with four minutes to go with a freshman quarterback making
his first start in the road, and maybe that sounds
hypocritical because I like Notre Dame to win the game.
But I do think your take about Carson Beck, your
(07:08):
take about your take might be like I did, think
he looked really good. I mean that game, I will
say too massively, massively.
Speaker 7 (07:16):
Lucky and maybe lucky. I don't know if lucky's the
right word.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
But two swings of that game are the best catch
I've ever seen. Maybe to end the half that goes
to half twenty one to seven instead of seventeen to
seven if he makes a long field goal, or maybe
fourteen to seven. And then a screen pass goes off
a guy's foot while he's up in the air and
hangs up for an interception where Notre Dame had that ball.
(07:40):
I think they were on like a round midfield and
Miami gets that pick and returns it to Notre Dame's twenty.
There so two huge swings of that game. I actually
I'm not gonna tell you that Notre Dame shouldn't be panicking,
because they should. With their schedule. I don't know if
you can go ten and two, so you probably have
to win out and maybe you should panic about that.
(08:01):
But I think car showed some Moxie down the stretch
of that game. As for a freshman for your first
for your first start, I thought there were good moments
with a young quarterback to get you back in the
game when you were losing twenty four to seven. I
think it got to and you tie it up twenty
four to twenty four. And obviously I think, if anything,
(08:21):
the defense probably has more questions to answer.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
All right, that's enough about Week one.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
We talked about it and dissected it in many different ways,
many different avenues. Week two, Look, you can't put lipstick
on a pig here. It's it's not great, it's it's bad.
It's not a good schedule whatsoever. And I don't think
Michigan Oklahoma as the anchor game is the uh the
(08:49):
game we think it is. Just because they have numbers
next to them doesn't mean it's going to be a
great game. But oh yeah, I mean, look, I'm gonna.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Still watch college football.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
But like it's it's a big come down from the
opening weekend. But Michigan Oklahoma, it's two notable programs, it's
two brand names. They've got numbers next to their names.
This season so far, it's a four and a half
point spread now in favor of the Sooners.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
What do we think.
Speaker 5 (09:18):
My kind of takeaway on this or not take away
or approach for this game, It's like, I think these
two quarterbacks are kind of in that second tier, at
least from the guys that we've been talking about, like
whether it's been Club, Nick Manning, nuss Meyer, Aller, those
guys have been kind of the quarterbacks we've talked about
the most. I think Bryce Underwood and John Mittier kind
of fall into that next class. But if those guys
play the way that they're capable of playing, they could
(09:39):
be up there competing kind of for that elite quarterback
class at college football. So I'm interested to see these
two guys. I mean, they both had a pretty fair
opponent in Week one. We do Mexico and Illinois State.
They're both basically like a preseason game, so we go
out there kind of get loose, get get some, get
some match out there, and now for a big time matchup.
I'm excited to watch John Mattier kind of in full
(09:59):
in this one and Bryce Underwood. It's still a big
unknown game for me, but if I had to lean
a certain way, I would actually probably lean towards the
under a forty five and a half. I think there's
two really strong defenses in this one, strong defensive minds
on both of these teams. So I could come down
to what quarterback makes the big mistake late.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
That's kind of the way I'm looking at it.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
But I don't have a good enough read, I think
on either of these teams as we had into Week two,
to really make a determined play on who the winner,
Who's going to cover in this one? But I do
think it's going to be a defensive battle somewhere in
like a twenty four seventeen, twenty four to twenty type
of range.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Should I probably go with the under there.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
I need somebody to sell me. At John Metier at
Oklahoma and in the SEC.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
I like him.
Speaker 7 (10:43):
I think he's good.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
I think that's that's not selling me.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
No, I'm not trying to I'm not like the biggest
John Mattier guy or anything like that. I think I
think there's more proof of concept with John Mattier than
there is with Bryce Underwood, even if it was at
a lower level. He had thirty one hundred and thirty
nine yards, twenty nine touchdowns, and seven picks. And and
he had yeah, eight hundred and twenty six rushing yards
(11:08):
and fifteen touchdowns. So I think at the very least
he made He's a quarterback who makes you deal with both.
Speaker 7 (11:13):
He's gonna run and he's gonna throw it deep.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
So I think at the very least, he's stretching the
field and making the defense deal.
Speaker 7 (11:22):
With a lot.
Speaker 6 (11:23):
And Oklahoma has Jade Not, who I think is going
to probably be the key to this game.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
The only one time.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
I think though last week, I don't know what's going I.
Speaker 7 (11:34):
Don't know what is up with that.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
I think the running game in general, I think is
going to be a pretty big thing.
Speaker 7 (11:41):
I know that they have another guy who they really
like as well.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
I remember hearing about that when transferred, that people were
surprised he went there. But I'm on Oklahoma. I think
this is to me more about Michigan Michigan. I think
we're underrating how much Michigan lost last year to this year.
Speaker 8 (12:01):
Obviously we talked about two years ago and Harball left
and all those, all those guys left, But this year
they had a ton of guys in Mason.
Speaker 6 (12:12):
Graham and Bennith Grant and Colston Loveland, and Will Johnson
and they're running back, and it was they lost even
more guys this year. Maybe not as many top twenty picks,
but they lost more guys this year and that wasn't
even that good of a team last year.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
It is sharonmore coaching this game.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Also, yes, he suspended like next week against Yeah, Arkansas
the next two weeks.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
I believe it.
Speaker 7 (12:40):
That's so weird.
Speaker 6 (12:41):
Yeah, SENSI it is convenient Oklahoma. When this was minus
two and a half, I loved it. I was like,
oh my gosh, I think this line should be like seven.
Now that it's four and a half, I think I'm
only getting like a slight advantage. So I'm taking Oklahoma
more of a faith on Michigan, though, I think this
is a Michigan team that's probably more like a six
(13:02):
or seven win team than anything close to a nine
or ten win team. I just don't understand, outside of
being excited about the five star freshmen, I don't understand
why people are excited about this Michigan roster.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
I'm not excited about the Michigan roster, but I'm taking
them out right. I'm taking the money line this weekend.
I don't think Brent Vannables as a head coach is good.
And I still need to be sold on John Myttier.
And look at what Oklahoma did last year. I get it,
it's different quarterback. But let's go through the top twenty
(13:36):
five games they played last year. The twenty five to
fifteen stinker against Tennessee in which Tennessee just completely shut
everything down for what felt like an entire half. They
lost sex thirty four to three. They lost by twelve
to Ole miss They lost by seven on the road
of Missouri, who at that point was twenty fourth.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Really, the only thing they have to hang the hat
on is they beat Bama.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
But if we're now kind of moving the goalpost on
that result, was that as notable of a result other
than it being Alabama that you could take the Alabama
logo off that team?
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Is that actually a good win?
Speaker 7 (14:11):
They did good nine and three Alabama?
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Right, But I'm saying, like, it's not that Alabama team
and the coaching and it's not up to the SABAN standard.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
No, And so it's it's a different type.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Of upset win over Alabama. I'm I'm just not sold
that that Brent Venables can win a big game I'm
really not.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Are you convinced more can?
Speaker 6 (14:40):
Yeah, they got smoked against Texas, they got smoking in Illinois,
they got smoked against Oregon, they got beat State.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
I'm convinced he ken with the talented quarterback and a
defensive coordinator that's gonna throw things at John Mattier that
he probably hasn't seen an entire Why.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Is Bryce Underwood talented and John Matti you have to
be sold on so.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
I just the materir thing. I don't know if he
can take the step up from Wazoo to Oklahoma. I
just like he's he's.
Speaker 7 (15:11):
A perfect one. He would take a step from high school.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
I don't know if he can, but I'm willing to
bank on the potential than something I've kind of seen
with mateir at Wazoo. I think he's a great quarterback
for the Wazoo level. I just when you say John
Mattier going to the SEC, it didn't It kind of
didn't strike me as Oh wow, that's a game changer.
And a lot of this bet has to do with
(15:35):
Venables as a head coach.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Yeah, I think a.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Lot of people are out on him, have been out
on him, and this is a prove it game for Oklahoma.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Yeah, that's my thing with Oklahoma and this one.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
It's like, I feel like this is kind of the
I won't say the absolute breaking point for Venables.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
But this is like a huge Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
If you're able to go to and out here, especially
at home, kind of give you some more momentum as
you get closer to SEC play. I just think this
game means so much and you have you have the
home field in this one.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
That's the way I probably would would take them to win.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
I'm not very convinced about the cover, but it's just
I feel like it's just such a bigger spot for
Oklahoma just you know, as a program trajectory wise, with
this head coach that's pretty much sitting duck right now.
Speaker 6 (16:19):
I think your question here is an SEC guy and
all that stuff.
Speaker 7 (16:25):
I think that'll be relevant once Red River happens.
Speaker 6 (16:28):
I don't think it's relevant against the Michigan team that
I think stinks, and especially I think in Oklahoma. But
once we get to at Texas, at South Carolina, Ole Miss,
at Tennessee, even at Alabama, we'll see and then LSU
at home. I'm with you there, Like Venables, I'll fade
venables there and we'll we'll see. Maybe Matier won't be
(16:50):
up to snuff. I'm not telling you that Mattier is
going to take Oklahoma to the playoff or anything like that.
I do think he makes them a more competitive offense
than they were last year. And I think Oklahoma last
year was better than Michigan last year. And I think
they've made more improvements year to year. They lost less
to the NFL they have. I think this is just
a I think they're a better team. I think they're
(17:12):
probably the same level of SEC team that Michigan is
the Big Ten, and I think that middle of the
SEC is better than.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
The middle of the Big Town.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Oklahoma could be a four win team.
Speaker 7 (17:22):
I don't think so. I think they're going to be
four and one by the time red River hits.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
They could, but they could be if they lose this
game to Michigan. I know you're low on Auburn, but no, no,
they should. They should think at minimum that Auburn Oklahoma
game might be level pegging. If I mean Oklahoma be
favorite because it's at home, I mean they got to
watch out for Powerhouse Temple next week. I mean, this
is this is just a look ahead game to coming
(17:47):
up to the mighty Lincoln Financial Field on a Saturday
at noon.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Does that game north of twenty thousand you think? No?
Speaker 3 (17:55):
It depends on how many Oklahoma fans come up.
Speaker 7 (17:57):
No, I don't think enough.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Probably not.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
But it's a great game for like parents like to
bring like their kids too, Like that's a Saturday at noon.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
But I don't know. If I was here next week,
I probably would have gone and checked that out.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
There's seven, there's seven games are tough to close the year.
I think they're going to be five, and now.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
They could be I mean that that's the kind of
variance we're running with right now. But there's also a reality.
And this is the one where Venables is fired before
November first, where they're a four win team and nothing more,
and they wasted a coaching cycle. I think it's pretty
proven that Venables is not the guy. If you're an
(18:37):
Oklahoma booster, you never root against your team, right, but at.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
This point maybe you do. And I don't know.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
I just I'm not sold in Oklahoma. I'll take Michigan.
I'll be the outsider here. Could be completely wrong, but
still me too. We don't know much about these teams.
Speaker 7 (18:57):
Yet Venables does have a ten to two season.
Speaker 6 (19:00):
It was kind of fraudulent, Like the schedule wasn't great,
but like, I don't think he's as bad as you're
selling him out to be in some ways. But and
last year was such a brutal schedule and he's got
another one this year. I don't think he's I mean,
I think he's got like a seven eight win cap
because of that schedule.
Speaker 7 (19:17):
But I think this is one of those wins.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
They could win the Big Twelve with this roster.
Speaker 7 (19:24):
I agree, I they can't.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
There's no They finished maybe like sixth or seventh in
the STC. Yeah, and this is like, this is what
you got what you wanted. Texas came in prepared, Oklahoma
in a way didn't, and you're you're getting what you
asked for in this type of situation.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
I'm just I'm not I can't get there with Oklahoma.
Speaker 5 (19:45):
I think Oklahoma just cross sports kind of has like
that Villanova vibe where it's like, all right, you had
such a like say would you want him out Lincoln?
But they would win eleven twelve games a year and
there they were right up there as one of the
elite programs in the sport going to the College Football
Playoff every year, bringing a new coach, and they kind
of fall off the map. And I feel like you're Oklahoma,
Like I feel like you shouldn't be getting a pass, like, oh,
(20:07):
we can go be the sixth best team in the SEC,
and that's finally.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
No.
Speaker 5 (20:11):
I think expectations should be you're up there with Texas,
You're up there with Alabama, you're up there with Georgia
LSU competing at the top.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
I think it's pretty crazy.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
That that venables and Oklahoma gets a pass if they go,
you know, eight and four this year. I think they
should be expecting to compete for the conference title every year.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
But that's just many just hypothetically speaking, because I'm playing
this out in my mind.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
If they let him go, who's the who's the phone call?
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Film?
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Ye bring him back.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
I've been hearing a lot of Gruden buzz down South.
Speaker 7 (20:41):
Buzz with Gruden.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Gruden would be great Arkansas.
Speaker 7 (20:45):
I love that fit.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
That would be great because Arkansas needs like some sort
of injection of life into their program.
Speaker 6 (20:52):
I heard he's friends with coach He's good friends with
coach Oe, so maybe it would be.
Speaker 7 (20:56):
It would be Gruden and coach O at Arkansas.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
They see how Levy maybe there was a Mississippi State.
Wasn't he there before as well?
Speaker 3 (21:02):
He was there before.
Speaker 7 (21:03):
Yeah, but this year, Yeah, he's do enough to earn
the job, like.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
They gotta make a big sele just just the thought
earlier in the season. It's weak too. We got look
the game.
Speaker 7 (21:18):
Lincoln. So maybe Marcus Freeman goes Marcus Freeman. I don't
I don't think that would be.
Speaker 6 (21:24):
I really do only think the only job he's leaving
for as Ohio State.
Speaker 7 (21:28):
Yeah, yeah, maybe maybe, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:34):
I think we're getting a big Oklahoma tie somewhere. I
remember last year when this happened. This came up on
a show and they were talking about this name that
had oklahomatize and what.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
About Garrett Riley.
Speaker 7 (21:47):
I don't think he's I don't think he's done a
good enough job. I know.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
That wouldn't be.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
I don't think that would be good with Ian Kelly.
Speaker 6 (21:56):
If l s U only wins like seven or eight
games like the.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
N I L budgeted, Oklahoma's bigger than LSU though.
Speaker 7 (22:05):
Yeah, that would be more of like by the way
Siggs would be an interesting option, but.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
An interesting option.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
Brian Kelly would be more of like him getting out
before LSU gets rid of him thing, or even maybe
if he does get fired.
Speaker 7 (22:23):
But I don't think that's I think I think they're
going to names.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Yeah, I think we're more likely in the scenario where
he gets like a lifetime contract than he leaves. All right,
So the rest of the games, yeah, I mean we
can we can.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Touch on that.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Look, it's not a great slate, but I think there's
enough betting line to kind of make you think. And
the one line that makes me think so much, and
its team I'm very very high on early in the
season to make the playoff actually is Illinois. They're on
the road to Duke there two and a half point
favor for I've been trying to make this line make
sense for the last like three days, and the line
(23:06):
tells you to pick Duke, right if this feels so trappy,
But does does Duke really do anything for you?
Speaker 4 (23:15):
People love.
Speaker 7 (23:18):
People love them, they.
Speaker 3 (23:19):
Love they love them.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
I don't know. If I don't know, I think my
loyalty to Illinois in this spot. It's a three point
spread at this point, but it's fishy it's certainly fishy.
Speaker 6 (23:31):
Is Duke of an environment? Is Duke at noon an
environment that scares you? Is I guess what I would say,
because to me, i'd say no.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
At Cameron Indoor, yes, yeah, wait, we're.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
Not playing basketball for another two months this year though
about fifty at the Garden was a bad one.
Speaker 7 (23:52):
That was okay, Casper, But I would lean Illinois. I
would lean Illinois.
Speaker 6 (23:59):
But like you said, I do think it is a
trappy trappy line is an interesting line. I'm staying away.
I feel that way about so many games this week.
I just can't get a full read on it. But
I would lean with.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
The it's it's a trappy week. Let's talk though about
a few teams there that are on the road.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
On top of Illinois going to Duke ole Miss going
to Kentucky. I think we're all in agreement that Kentucky
is is bad, that we don't like.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Zach Calzada at all. But but this is.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
An interesting spot earlier in the year for Almiss their
ten point favorite Austin Simmons, this is this is the
first of.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Many tests in the SEC.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
I don't know if you want to Kentucky at tests
compared to like, you know, the other teams in the SEC.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
But it's his first two road game. How do we
gauge Ole Miss.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
As a ten point favorite against Kentucky team where you
want to talk about coaches on the way out? Mark
Stoops has very much lived past his time there.
Speaker 7 (24:53):
He has two feet on the door out the door.
He's like locking the door behind.
Speaker 6 (24:58):
He could not give less of a crap about how
the season goes. And that's why they have Zach Calzada
at age thirty five as they're starting quarter back. But
almost my favorite play of the weekend, not just college football,
considering NFL as well.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
I love this Ole Miss spread.
Speaker 6 (25:16):
I think if this was just almost minus ten against
Kentucky and almost beat Kentucky last year and things were normal,
I would like the I would like the spread. I
think this smells like a Lane Kiffin beat down spot.
And just like Duke, doesn't intimidate me at twelve o'clock.
A Kentucky fan base that is not interested in this
(25:37):
football team and has no belief in this football team.
This isn't the Josh Allen, Josh heinz Allen. I should
say the defensive end, the who was the quarterback who
was their seatoning.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Benny Snell Lynn Bowden. There is not that era.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
This is not that era anymore at Kentucky where they're
winning nine games, So that environment does not scare me
at all. But the reason that I'm so in on
ole Miss is because Kentucky cost them their college football
playoff last year. If ole Miss just takes care of
business and beats Kentucky when they were like a twenty
point favorite at home, then ole Miss would have been
(26:15):
in the playoff but almost lost that game. And I
guarantee Lane has been hammering that home. And Lane's a
guy who a very aware of the spread, as I
think Beef has some fun stats for and b I
think cares about that type of stuff, narratives, and you
know this team beat us, let's kind of put it
(26:37):
on them and show them who we are. And I
think this is not a game where Lane will take
his foot off the gas pedal. So I think this
is a forty to fifty burger that they're hanging on
Kentucky's head.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Ole Miss team total thirty and a half thoughts.
Speaker 7 (26:52):
Oh, I like that, that's interesting. Yeah, maybe that's an
even better way to bet it.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
But also I'm fine. I'm actually I think think I
like to spread more just because in the spread day, Yeah,
what exact just scored zero points, So I'll take that
that slight chance instead. And the stoops generally gets the
defense ready to play, so I'll give him credit for that.
Not that I think he will this weekend, but yeah,
(27:19):
I think this is a be and it's it's funny
similar to Oklahoma. I think ole Miss is like a
seven eight win team this year. Like I think they're
gonna be in the middle.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Of that SEC.
Speaker 6 (27:27):
I'm skeptical if Austin Simmons is going to step right
in and kind of keep the machine going for them
to be a nine to ten to eleven win team.
Speaker 7 (27:34):
They're another team.
Speaker 6 (27:35):
They lost a lot to the NFL last year, and
I don't know if ole Miss is a team that
can replenish that quickly.
Speaker 7 (27:41):
So I'm skeptical about ole Miss against the big dogs.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
But here's this is not a big dog.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
This is a little cat at Kentucky, and I think
ole Miss takes care of it easily.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Eth Arizona State goes to Mississippi State through six and
a half point favorite. I think it was Scatterboy that
was tweeting out last week like, hey, why are we
not on actual TV? I think they were on like
ESPN plus plus plus against whoever.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
They played wonder Jackson. I believe, first of all, you.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Need more cow bell in practice to simulate what you're
going to get at Davis Wade Number two, What do
we think of this line in Arizona State? Because this
is now with how the Big Twelve that it has
shaped up with Utah making it's forty to thirteen at UCLA.
That gets people's attention, regardless of what your opinion is
(28:33):
on UCLA. Utah is one of I guess what the
top five teams in terms of takeaways from week one
that was very positive. They're trending in the right direction.
We saw Kansas State go in the opposite direction. They
almost lost to North Dakota. So we really don't know
if any of the preseason projections in the Big Twelve
meet anything.
Speaker 7 (28:52):
Now.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Look going to Starkfield that really doesn't mean anything right
now because of the state of their program. Baylor looked
by the way they did, We'll get to them because
they're they're on They're on the list of fun games
this week what do we think of Arizona State. It's again,
it's Starkfield isn't what it used to be, but they're
still a six and a half point favorite. They got
(29:14):
to get the job done. And if you're Mississippi State,
you see ranked team coming in, You're you're chomping at
the bit to face a non.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Sec top twenty five team. What do we need to
see at ASU this weekend?
Speaker 6 (29:26):
Mississippi State's almost like entirely transfers. I'm pretty sure like
it's an entirely new team. So this is not what
people want to hear when they're looking for a, you know,
a side to bet on.
Speaker 7 (29:37):
This is a wait and this is a sit back
and learn game. I have a lot of sit back and.
Speaker 6 (29:41):
Learn games this weekend where I'm trying to find out
what these teams are. I think Arizona State's going to
be pretty good this year. I think Sam Levitt's really good.
Like I think they're gonna have an eight win floor.
To me, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not betting this
game because what if Mississippi State nailed the transfer port
or maybe level maybe maybe Leving needed a year to
kind of get it together. Maybe there's a chance they're
(30:03):
just as bad as they were last year. So and
there's a chance that this six and a half number
is a joke. In three weeks would be fourteen. But
I'm gonna stay away, sit back and learn on this one.
Speaker 7 (30:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
I don't know if it's a backhanded compliment to say,
but I actually came away pretty impressed by Missippi State
last week. I was on Southern miss and I think
a lot of people are on so miss.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
I think, Joe you might have been.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
I thought there was a chance that won that game outright,
and yeah, and it was. It was not really in doubt.
Like you said, they hung around by Missibi State. You know,
SEC bodies eventually wear down on a some belt body
or whatever c USA body that Southern misses. But at
the end of the day, Missisi State looked looked pretty solid.
I thought they definitely looked better than what Kentucky did
(30:48):
against Toledo.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
But I'm right there with you, Mark, kind of just
to sit back and watch.
Speaker 5 (30:52):
I think the game could have some fireworks, maybe some points,
but sit back and watch is definitely my theme. I
was just talking to my buddy earlier about that whole
miss Kentucky game because I just want to get like
a full, you know, full game view of Austin Simmons,
see really how good he is, because if he's able
to slide right in there and slide into lane system,
I think they could actually surprise and win you know,
nine games, maybe eight maybe kind of in that range
(31:14):
eight to nine instead of that seven is range. So
I really want to get a long look at Austin
Simmons on Saturday afternoon. But interesting to see on Missippi
State response tonight too, but or excuse me, on Saturday night,
but Arizona State, I'd still put them right there kind
of neck and neck with with Utah.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
That was my projection going into the season.
Speaker 6 (31:30):
I will say I'm low and ole miss And I said,
I think they're like an eight ish win team for
an SEC schedule. They did get like a little bit
of a cushy SEC schedule. I mean, there's LSU on there,
there's Georgia on there. I think South Carolina is on there.
But you're avoiding Texas, Alabama, well, and who's who's that
Alabama is? But they're avoiding some of the some of
(31:52):
the trickier potential trips.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Two SEC teams want to talk about with their matchups.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Florida thought South Florida coming into the swamp. Look South
Florida be Boys at home. It's a completely different level
going up into an SEC team.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
What do we think about.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Seventeen and a half Byron Brown and the Bulls going
to the Gainesville? Is that a dog you shouldn't overreact
to from their performance in week one because of who
they played.
Speaker 5 (32:23):
I think they could hang within that. Seventeen and a
half Byron Brown look looked awesome. I looks good the
past couple of years, you know, in spurts. But he
had some some of the most like wow moments wild
players of anyone.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Last week.
Speaker 5 (32:35):
He was just kind of twined with boys, stayed a
little bit and having some fun. Very interested to see
though Florida too, Like I'll be honest, I didn't watch
a snap of them versus LU. But so Lagway's numbers
weren't even that great. I think he had like one
hundred and fourth best QBR last week or something, so
he didn't really like the world on fire. Interested to
see him kind of live up to the hype. But
I do like that plus seventeen and a half for USF.
(32:57):
They impressed me last week. They dominated that that Boise
State team from start to finish pretty much last weekend.
So I'm looking forward to get a good look at
both the USF because I think all things shake right.
With their strong non conference schedule, they can maybe even
be that G five team that represents in the playoff.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
That win over Boise State's got playoff potential, and that
the Boise State performance too Notre Dame schedule, like, how
does that affect Notre Dame with what Boise State actually
looks like that That's kind of a twofold thing for me.
And then the.
Speaker 6 (33:31):
Even if Boise was eleven and er outside of that game,
if they lost to Notre Dame.
Speaker 7 (33:35):
How seriously would people take that win for a Notre Dame.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
I guess it depends on how the rest of their
opponents broke.
Speaker 6 (33:44):
Yeah, I just even if Boise was as good as
they possibly could be and Notre Dame beat them, I
don't think people would be like, oh, what a win
for a Notre Dame.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
I guess still a number in front and depending on
like how many of those ACC teams, it's still would
be a number not anymore because they're not gonna get
back in top twenty five.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
The Border War. Look, it's the border War.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
I don't care what you want to call it. Kansas Missouri.
It's an old rivalry book.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Both.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Rebula is not going to be like stabbing the jayhawk
in the eye with the flag at the end of
this whole thing, and neither is Jalen Daniels in Colombia.
But it's a fascinating rivalry game. I think Kansas maybe
looks a little frisky in this spot at six and
a half if you look, it's a rivalry game. At
least we got that in the three thirty spot.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
Right, Yeah, I think this one could provide us some fireworks. Actually,
I like the over in this one. I think I've
seen it between fifty and a half fifty one and
a half.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
I'm looking forward to a full year of Boat Rebuel.
Speaker 5 (34:43):
I really like the flashes he showed at Penn State,
and obviously last week he had some highlight plays, albeit
against Central Arkansas.
Speaker 4 (34:49):
But him and Jalen Daniels having.
Speaker 5 (34:51):
The ability to go back and forth with each other's
score for score, I think that could be a fun one.
Maybe the kind of electric game of that three thirty
part of the afternoon, So give me the over there
in that Missoo Kansas game.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Some fireworks in that matchup.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
Kansas is frisky.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
I think, yeah, a healthy Jalen Daniels makes Kansas frisky
all season, so that that game will be fun at minimum.
You mentioned a team earlier, Mark Baylor, Man, was that
like disappointing? You and I were both high on them earlier.
I ended up betting the over in the Auburn Baylor game,
(35:25):
but still, like I came away not impressed with their
defense or Robinson was Okay, they played SMU this weekend. Look,
if you tell me Baylor's playing SMU, I'm automatically going
to all this game is gonna have fifty points on
each side. Like it just triggers in my head. This
is like old type of shootout. But I mean Baylor's
(35:46):
defense was was bad, like I had to be that
way bad.
Speaker 6 (35:51):
I thought Robertson was actually awesome. I mean he had
four hundred and nineteen yards. They really had the shackles
on him for like the first two or three drives.
They were trying to run the ball and throw screens
and they weren't letting them loose.
Speaker 7 (36:03):
Once they kind of got down a bit, they.
Speaker 6 (36:05):
Really let him throw and let him kind of unleash
it all over the yard and spread it around. And
I thought he was great, But that defense looks like
it can't stop a nosebleed. It's hard for me to
even gauge how much I should be impressed by Jackson
Arnold in Auburn or how much I should just fade
(36:26):
Baylor's defense, Like maybe this is an overspot sixty five.
Speaker 7 (36:32):
So many points, but that defense looked horrible.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
Of the day.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
I think there's there's two chaos games and they're both
taking place in Texas. It's Baylor SMU in Texas State.
UTSA could be off the rails by like five minutes
into the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
That game is. That game could have like one hundred
and twenty points in it.
Speaker 6 (36:53):
What if I if I said Iowa Iowa State was chaos, but.
Speaker 7 (36:58):
It's an entirely different brand chaos.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
Yes, field that I would agree with you.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
I don't like high totals, but Baylor SMU at sixty
four and a half screams to me, bet the over
because Baylor's defense did look bad and look sorry, Robinson
can can move the ball up the field for Baylor.
I don't think SMU's defense is not his the best
in the world. I think they're gonna have to score
forty to win that game. And then Texas State UTSA
(37:28):
is your old school G five type of just big
time shootout. I'm very much looking forward to that game.
I think they'll probably be maybe close to like two
hundred plays with the way both of those teams play.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
So I had those two stand up to me. We
didn't even mention Iowa i Was State.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
We're thirty five minutes into too this one.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
I guess.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
I guess that's much as the Syhawk registers for me.
But let's talk about Iowa Iowa State. It's a rivalry game.
Speaker 7 (38:00):
I'm tempted by the Clone or not by the Clones.
I'm tempted by the Hawk eyes.
Speaker 6 (38:04):
I'm tempted to go Iowa plus three and a half
and fade Iowa State. I understand that they looked good
last week coming off of Ireland. Maybe maybe it takes
two weeks for the hangover, you know, beef. Sometimes you
go out drinking. Sometimes I can't hit you the next day.
Sometimes it hits it two days later.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Clone the delayed hangover.
Speaker 6 (38:26):
I called the DH the DH for Iowa State coming
back from Ireland two weeks ago. I think this is
a bad spot for Iowa State, and we saw just
how bad K State.
Speaker 7 (38:39):
Looked last week.
Speaker 6 (38:41):
I'm coming off of that trip and it was a
pretty close game in Ireland with Iowa State and K State.
So not on my card yet, but I am intrigued
by Iowa plus three and a half.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Five of the last six Syhawk football games have had
less than forty points, and the other one was twenty
seven to seventeen. The over under currently sits at forty
one and a half. I will gladly bang the under
on that one. That that's that's not gonna be a
fun watch. Helps my plus three and a half. We're
talking a close game under forty. I think that only
helps me.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Yeah, and I was dominated that rivalry.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
I think you guys in terms of like sit back
and watch, Iowa might be the sit back and watch
team in that game, just because we just we just
don't know if they have an offense.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
Yep, you know what at it to my card, Iowa
plus three and a half, this is it.
Speaker 7 (39:33):
This is a delayed hangover play strictly. This is me strictly.
Speaker 6 (39:38):
Saying I think Matt Campbell hammered Home so much that
they couldn't have a letdown after Ireland, that the letdown
is actually gonna come in the worst possible time against
the rival.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Let my dumb college football brain cook for a second.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
Okay, Iowa, if they if they pull off this, this
win and aims and they're they look competent with an offense,
they have Indiana, Penn State, and Oregon all coming to
their place this season in Big Ten play? Do you
do you circle that and say, well, if Iowa looks
(40:16):
competent offensively, we know what they're gonna bring on the
other two departments, the special teams. Do you maybe look
at this game into the future and say, well, they
could pick off somebody.
Speaker 6 (40:30):
I feel like Iowa in general, Now I know that
they'd beat Penn State a couple of times, but I
feel like Iowa in general is much more of a
We take care of business always against teams.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
That are at our level or worse, but we.
Speaker 4 (40:45):
Never beat the teams above. So they don't have an offense.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If they they.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
Have something different, like they're not gonna hurt themselves. They're gonna,
you know, play great special teams. Defense usually pretty well coached,
but they just don't have the firepower to go out
there and outscore a team with Jeremiah Smith, or go
out there and outscore a team with all the pass
catchers boardans head over the past few years.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
If Gronowski is like more than borderline competent, they've got
a last.
Speaker 4 (41:16):
Week though, did Anty have like forty four yards?
Speaker 5 (41:18):
I think I think they're keeping it very vanilla and
probably not put anything real on tape, but still most
likely playing Albany and we're.
Speaker 4 (41:25):
Throwing for forty four yards.
Speaker 3 (41:28):
Albany is the CIA powerhouse.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
I know what we're talking about.
Speaker 5 (41:31):
You know, can you tell me a player from the
NFL he that started his career at all Verse.
Speaker 4 (41:40):
Yeah, that's pretty wild. I always think it is.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
We're about to wrap up, so let's kind of go
through the rest of what interests us. I think we've
hit on actually a pretty decent amount of games compared
to what we kind of computed at started this.
Speaker 3 (41:55):
Uh, people start with you, what else has your attention
in week two?
Speaker 4 (42:00):
So we touched on USF plus seventeen and a half.
I like.
Speaker 5 (42:03):
I also like that Kansas missoo over, as we said
to being a not a huge card this week. A
lot of kind of I want to learn a little
bit more about some of these teams, and you know,
I kind of want to see how those teams that
played either really well last week are really bad kind
of bounce back. But when you go and look at
their schedule, like Miami this week they have Bethany Cookman,
what am I going to learn about that? Bama has
(42:24):
Ul Munner? I think, what are we going to learn
about that? So there's not really that much that I'm
in love with this week. It's kind of a boring
ish card for me.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
Probably. I think it'll be.
Speaker 5 (42:34):
Pretty small interesting to see what Oregon does if they're
able to run up the score on Oklahoma State. I
think due to those those kind of press conference comments,
they might do that. I do like the over in
the James Madison Louisville game that actually kicks off on
Friday night, so that's going to be a play on
my card. And I think a lot of eyes got
to be on Arch as well on Saturday afternoon. So
(42:56):
I think this is kind of the enjoy football Saturday,
kind of make some more judgments and opinions.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
And probably a little bit more betting. Focus shifted over
to the NFL for this weekend.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
Two first half lines I want to put out there.
Texas line is twenty one and a half against San
Jose State. Santase State lost at home to Central Michigan.
I think that was like a deep Thursday night game
that nobody paid attention to. They're not good. Texas is
going to take all their frustration out on them. Wouldn't
actually even mind the full game spread of thirty eight
and a half. And then Oregon Oklahoma State just lost
(43:28):
their starting quarterback. Sometimes I'd like to think that Mike
Gundeacon just try and create some magic. I think that's
now actually gone. Oregon's now up to twenty nine and
a half point favorite. We take that straight up, but
they're only seventeen and a half first half. I think
you look at a team in Texas looking to bounce back,
(43:49):
Oregon looking to hammer a bad power forward team at home.
I think those are two spots you can attack, Mark.
I think you like a first half spot somewhere else
and aboard them.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
Right, Yes, I am with you on Augh, I'd actually
just have the full game spread at twenty eight and
a half. The other first half spot I like is
Pitt first half Pit minus eleven and a half against
Central Michigan.
Speaker 7 (44:12):
I think, you look at that's a wonky line.
Speaker 6 (44:16):
Central Michigan was a fourteen point dog and did beat
San Jose State. But I think this is a beatdown
for Pitt. The reason I'm not taking the full game
because Pitt has West Virginia next week on the road.
Speaker 7 (44:27):
They're big robbery game, so maybe they call off the
dogs a little bit late in the game.
Speaker 6 (44:31):
But I think this is a come out blazing Eli
Holstein will be throwing it all over the yard early.
Speaker 7 (44:37):
And by the way, this a little.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
Preview for next week.
Speaker 6 (44:39):
I love Pitt potentially, I think in that game at
West Virginia, I think right now it's only a two
point favorite for Pitt.
Speaker 7 (44:45):
Love Pit in that game. Another one you mentioned to Oregon.
They're on my card.
Speaker 8 (44:50):
We talked about Old Mists, we talked about iowak out Oklahoma.
Speaker 6 (44:53):
The only one I have left on my card is
at night seven point thirty. I'm taking Vanderbilt plus one
and a half at Virginia Tech. I think they're gonna
win that game out right. You know who got you
know who thinks, guys, Brenviginie Tech, Brent Price thinks.
Speaker 7 (45:10):
Before Yeah, you're right, Virgilia.
Speaker 5 (45:13):
That hasn't been a powerful conference opponent in the non
conference since twenty seventeen.
Speaker 6 (45:19):
Wow, that's a great stat. That's a great stat. That's
probably the Fente and probably or maybe it's this before that,
but Brent probably sixteen to twenty two at Virginia Tech.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
It just hasn't worked out.
Speaker 7 (45:31):
That's not good enough. That's not good. We're not talking
about like we're not. He's not at Vanderbilt. He's in
the ACC. He's got a team for a that for
a long time was even in their down.
Speaker 6 (45:41):
Years with six and six, seven and five, eight and four,
and he's went six and.
Speaker 7 (45:45):
Six two straight years, one one Bowl, gimelst the other.
But I I just I don't get.
Speaker 6 (45:51):
The Virginia Tech thing. I don't get the Brent Prye thing.
How many years in a row are we going to
do the Kyri Druones thing in fifteen to thirty three?
Speaker 7 (45:57):
Last week?
Speaker 6 (45:58):
I think Vanderbilt was so confident last year my dog agrees.
Speaker 7 (46:03):
Apparently we're all we're going with the doll. Gimme Vanderbilt.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
I'll throw a little mixed thing into the mixer because
like the noon slate.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
You're gonna want to go out with your families.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Probably do something because this slate, especially three thirty, gets
a little bad. I'm pulling it up now in draftings sportsbook.
You're gonna do a first half spread parlay here. I'll
get Mark's idea on pitt They're now up to thirteen
and a half first half. That kind of doesn't scare
me as long as you get it within two touchdowns.
Speaker 6 (46:34):
Yeah, there's still other numbers out there, but yeah, it's all.
Speaker 4 (46:38):
Over the place.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
It looks like Texas.
Speaker 2 (46:40):
Mine is twenty one and a half first Africant San
Jose State, a team that lost as a double digit
favorite to Central Michigan and Penn State minus twenty six
and a half first.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
Half against FIU up and Happy Valley. That game should
be over by halftime.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
I think Penn State missed their first half spread by
I think a point last week against Nevada, so they're
gonna put it on FIU pretty easily. I think FIUs
it's still on the same level as Nevada. Penn State
wins that game easily. But yeah, if you want to
have a little fun in the noonslate with not much
going on and only watch two hours of those games,
(47:17):
I think that's a little fun one to put together.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
Just I don't know if I believe this.
Speaker 6 (47:24):
It's I'm just tempted by Ohio plus three and a
half at home against West Virginia.
Speaker 7 (47:29):
It's a funky line.
Speaker 4 (47:31):
One and a half.
Speaker 7 (47:33):
Big line, or like a big game for the Ohio
kids like there probably would rather be at West Virginia.
Speaker 6 (47:38):
It's always like a little brother situation, that kind of thing.
They did take Rutgers to the brim last week thirty
four to thirty one and a half point spread, almost
won the game.
Speaker 7 (47:48):
I think Wes Virginia is gonna stink this year.
Speaker 6 (47:50):
I know they beat Robert Morris forty five to three
and covered to forty and a half points spread. I
think Wes Virginia is gonna stink so and I think
clearly the odds makers do too by having only a
three half. My favorite, Parker Navarro, was a good quarterback
last year at Ohio.
Speaker 4 (48:03):
He's still there. Tempted by Ohio.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
What's the over under in that game?
Speaker 7 (48:08):
The over under is sixty and a half.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
I think West Virginia is going to score points this
season because it's rich Rod, but I don't know if
they're gonna be any good. And I don't want anything
of that game but that. It'd be fascinating though going
into the brawl. Who Pitt's going to get all the
hype going into that, I would assume because all the
West Virginia thing.
Speaker 3 (48:29):
The only thing you can really say is rich Rod's back.
Speaker 6 (48:32):
UNC went from a twenty one and a half point
favorite as Charlotte to thirteen and a half.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
I have nothing of that either.
Speaker 6 (48:40):
That is, I wouldn't want to lay thirteen and a
half with that Belichick Carolina team with your with your
guys money.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
No, absolutely real quick case State seventeen and a half.
Army coming in.
Speaker 5 (48:54):
Army was so bad, Yeah, Tarlton Darius Cooper wasn't even playing.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
But then FCS team and then triple option back to
back to back?
Speaker 3 (49:03):
Is that does that just wear down the morale of a.
Speaker 6 (49:06):
Team In most years, I would be hammering Army in
the spot if Army would have just not played last week.
Speaker 7 (49:13):
And I wouldn't have I would be hammering, but they
were so bad.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
Again, it's week two.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
There's not a lot going on, but yeah, there's some
interesting lines up there and definitely some some bets you
can absolutely take advantage of. Look, I will promise you
the college football so let's get better from here on out.
But if you're gonna have guns blazing great week one,
you're gonna have the come down.
Speaker 5 (49:38):
You know.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Hopefully it's not as hard week to week throughout the
rest of the season. But week two, Look, it's it's
it's for the diehards, and that's why we're here, and
we're here every Wednesday night to break it down for you.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
And look, we're still gonna find winners. That's our going.
Speaker 7 (49:55):
Come on, I Levey, they screwed me last week.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
Come on, they covered FO for minutes.
Speaker 2 (50:02):
We're fifty minutes and I'm doing the outro and then
you're gonna throw a BC sparty at me, like I'm
gonna care.
Speaker 7 (50:09):
What do they call it in uh? In basket?
Speaker 3 (50:12):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (50:12):
Big ten? Acc challenge, challenge.
Speaker 3 (50:15):
Challenge challenge. Yeah, I'll be watching Michigan Oklahoma. I'll probably
forget that game exists. But that's it.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
But yeah, that's the week we're in that that BC
Michigan State gets mentioned, that either of these teams get mentioned.
So anyway, for Ryan Beefcoyle, Mark Emma Junior, myself, Joe Tansey,
best look on all your bets guys, and we will
see you back here next Wednesday with another episode of
The Sickos Bets of College Football.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
If you can.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
Wager on it, we're talking about it. It's the Gambler.
