Sports. The Gambler, Foxpechow.Gambler dot com is where you can find
the podcast. And we are liveright now. My name is John Jansen
at Jay Jansen thirty four of courseand joining me as always Joe Tanzi adds
Jay Tanzie ninety. How we doing, Joe, You're ready for Week ten?
You're ready for November college football. It's kind of crazy to already say

(00:46):
that, but it is the lastmonth essentially of the regular season, and
then we get into bowls and thenwe get into college football playoff time.
We already got our first college footballplayoff rankings, Joe. We're getting towards
the end of this thing. Itdoes feel weird we say that every year,
though, I think now that wehave a playoff ranking though, it
makes it feel a little more real, like we we at least now know

(01:11):
who's in the mix. It's reallynobody news when people start arguing about the
rankings. That's when you know, the college football season we're we're towards the
end, you know, and it'sthe same same teams we're arguing about,
like what's the really Yeah, it'sreally true. They're just gonna be lost

(01:32):
or whatever. Michigan. I mean, uh, they're deserve number one right
now, Like that is what itis. But as we've we've said,
you me sean brace over the lastfew years, it all figures itself out
everything every single time, every time. Yeah, and that's of course going

(01:52):
to play itself out now. Onething that they always look at, or
at least we look at, becauseI think teams that have been outside of
the top six in the initial rankinghave not made it to the college football
playoffs. So we're kind of gettingan understanding of who's going to be in
the playoff by the essentially the topsix teams. Did they get the top
six? Right? Are those theteams again narrowing down? I think this

(02:14):
year you can open it up alittle bit more, to be honest with
you, because there are some teamsI think ranked eighth, you know,
even into the tens that I thinkthat can make the college football playoffs.
Still, but what do you makeof the rankings? Anything notable for you?
I think the realistic number is whatnine? I mean, I think
we can still expand it to twelve. Well, here's the thing for now.

(02:38):
Obviously, you know, wins haveto happen. And the problem,
the problem you run into was sayingtwelve is that two of them get knocked
out this weekend because we're assuming Georgiabeats Missouri, and we're assuming Alba,
assuming we're as soon and ole misshas no path to an SEC an SEC
championship game. So when you breakit down like that, and then Penn

(03:00):
State doesn't look like doesn't look championshipcaliber, And do you really believe in
Louisville? No, I mean youcan't even believe in in Oklahoma. That's
like no. Sorry, So likethat's that's where I see this as it's
really nine, And that list getstrimmed down very fast when you realize as

(03:27):
well, one of Ohio State Michiganhas to lose, Washington and Oregon probably
gonna play in a rematch Texas andOklahoma could play in a rematch, and
if they don't, they're both gonnasuffer a second loss. So it's very
hard for me to say outside ofthat top nine that anybody else has a
chance, because in reality, Ithink we've maybe handed out two spots already,

(03:47):
maybe three in the playoff won theFlorida State, one to the SEC
champion, which is most likely Georgia, and one to the Big ten champion,
which is most likely Ohio State orMichigan. So if that is the
case, is it undefeated Washington,is it the Pac twelve champion? Is
it Texas or Oklahoma? It dwindlesitself down very fast. So I want

(04:12):
to be optimistic and say there's somany teams in it, but let's be
real, from what we've seen ofthese teams, it really is nine,
and might even be less than that, depending on what your viewpoint of the
Big twelve is and knowing your seasonlong crusade, it would be lower.
Yeah, real quickly before we domove on, because we got a lot
to talk about with Week ten andour bets as well, and you have,

(04:32):
I think a bet for almost everygame of the board, So we
got to make sure, we getto that and give you the time for
that, but where do you thinkthe chaos is? Where do you think
the chaos can be found? Thatkind of you know, makes this look
because right now it looks like apretty not easy path. But we sort
of understand. You know, OhioState, Georgia, Michigan all look like

(04:54):
they can be in, even withOhio State potentially losing the Michigan, which
I think we're all kind of bankingon happening because Michigan just looks very good.
Ohio State, you know, theyhave they have the wins, they
have the top twenty five wins, they have the Marquie wins. So that's
why the number one we expect themto lose the Michigan. But either way,
whoever gets that one loss, youknow, we still expect to be
in. Uh. Where do yousee the chaos though? That happens where

(05:16):
it always happens the Pac twelve.Yeah, but I but this back twelve
didn't get in this this. Imean like this feels like the year they're
a pack twelve team is getting inthis year. Well, the thing is
with with the chaos element is thechaos element is not going to produce an
unlikely playoff team. It's just notlike the ACC is very weak. The

(05:36):
SEC is going to come down toGeorgia or Bamman. Let's be honest.
If bam is one loss and they'rewinning, they will win over Georgia.
They're getting in and then it's theBig Ten champions So there's no chaos agent
at least I don't think so thatthat's sitting there from nine to sixteen or
whatever it may be that really hasa chance. Like these are all they're

(06:00):
very good teams. You know,Louisville has been surprising. Ole Miss is
just doing what they've done for thelast decade. Just hang just hang there
and ope Alabama loses. LSU isin the mix, but they've have two
losses. That's kind of really hardto put them into discussion, even if
they meet Bama. It just itfeels like if if there is chaos,

(06:20):
the chaos is knocking teams out ofthe college football playoff discussion and not adding
a team to it. Like it'sjust very hard for me to to say
because I I see what the onehalf the Big Ten Championship is going to
be. See one half the SECChampionship is going to be and I see
what one half of the a CECChampionship is going to be, and all
three of those teams are going tobe heavily favored in those championship games.

(06:44):
Yeah. The only thing that Ireally see, and that that's kind of
just crept into my mind is like, here comes Alabama, just the team.
They're They're one of the teams thoughthat that's the thing. They're not
the chaos agent. They're just oneof the teams. But that's that's just
when never rethink that, you know, Alabama, they got that one loss,
We're like, okay, we cankind of put them out of this
conversation for a little bit. Youknow, they're gonna have to prove the

(07:06):
whistle and get back into it.Of course, they just they got back
into the conversation and now they haveone loss. They have another big game
coming up, which obviously is thisweekend against LSU, and if they get
that win, you know, nowwe're talking about Alabama as a one loss
team. You know, does NickSaban and the Crimson Tide get back into
the college football playoff? So that'sthat's kind of to me. The only

(07:28):
thing I got out of that wasyou know, here's Alabama again. Because
Oregon still has a really tough Pactwelve schedule, they can get another loss
in there. Texas. I don'tknow what to make of Texas because the
Big twelve doesn't look great. Theyhave a tough game against Kansas State,
although I think they win it.Buters injury is the biggest thing with Yes,
it's nothing to do with schedule, nothing to do with like anything else

(07:49):
is if they're they're starting quarterbacks nothealthy, they may not make it to
the finish line. Yeah, itwas just so surprising. For two games,
the Texas and South Florida game,we went, Okay, hell,
Obama might just be bad, theymight not be good. And now Milroe
has gotten settled in, they finallycommitted to him. That seemed to work
because now he's I think he's gettingbetter each week. And they just they

(08:11):
look good again. They look reallygood again. The things that we the
things that we project upon Clemson tosay, although figured out they're always in
the mix that actually that actually appliesto Alabama, it does, and they're
starting to do those things. Otherthan that, I have no problem with
the top four. I think FloridaState should be for It's actually pretty close

(08:31):
for me for Florida State Washington becausethey both have a couple of really good
wins. I would say Washington maybeis the better win, but overall,
I think the the overall body ofwork just seems a little bit better for
Florida cit Washing Washington's last two weekshave soured, then, yeah, it
has. It has they need theyneed the unfortunately a team that took on
a really tough Oregon team and youknow, they're still trying to just get

(08:54):
one hundred back after that. Theyneed to beat USC and convincing fashion.
I know, we these like qualityyou know, showcase wins, whatever you
want to call them anymore, butthey matter, like there's there's human elements
in the in the playoff conversation, and this is one of them. It's
it's still a named brand, it'sstill primetime game. Still somehow a top

(09:16):
twenty team in US that that thattotal is astronomically I just I love,
I love, and this is kindof getting into week ten now. I
love looking at the board and seeingIowa Northwestern barely trying to touch thirty.
And then on the other side wehave Washington and USC, and that's like
a total that date you. It'sbasically daring you to bet the over and

(09:39):
see what happens. And there's afew of those games. I mean,
Nebraska Michigan States in the thirties. It's like, you know, the Service
Academy game in the thirties, Like, it's very bizarre that this is the
same sport that these teams are playing. That you have a total of seventy
six and a total of thirty onthe same betting board in the same week.
It's fast stating. I love collegefootball. Yeah, love college football

(10:05):
as well. Let's get into weekten and talk about some of those games.
First, Big one Rutgers hosting OhioState and I'm just kidding, we're
not going there, but Rutgers isBowl eligible. Don't don't hate them,
the States. I you know what, I've been betting them. They It's
been a fun team to follow. So I am very happy with how things
have gone with Rutgers. Could tosee Greg Shiana doing some good things.

(10:28):
But let's move on to games thatactually matter and teams that are actually good.
Texas Kansas State. It looked likeKansas State after two losses that they
were going to be out of theBig Twelve picture, and now that Oklahoma
suffers a loss and now Kansas Stategets a Texas game, Kansas State kind
of back into the conversation again.Last couple of weeks have been really kind
of them last three weeks. Butreally they took on all of the Texas

(10:50):
teams that I don't know who's goodor not. Texas Tech looked better and
ended up getting to win over TCUon Thursday. I think it was so
we're we're starting to figure out thoseteams. But yeah, I mean they
just went through all the bad airraid Texas teams and now here comes the
actual good Texas team in the Longhorns. Do you think Kansas State can match

(11:11):
up with this? Well, here'sthe thing I think you have to mention
with Kansas State is is coaching forgetyou know, all the opponents thing it
comes down to at this time ofthe year, and you've seen it across
the board and you've seen it inthe Pact. The fact that the Big
Twelve with Oklahoma State, we'll getto them in a little bit. With
Bedlam, Mike Gundy has figured outhis team and Chris Kleiman has done that

(11:33):
as well with Kansas State, andit just so happened. It came after
the upset loss on that Friday nightagainst Oklahoma State. Kansas State's identity is
where to hear that name as acoach. By the way, fine the
way thing. The way Kansas Stateoperates is to play really good defense.
They ground the pound. They're notgoing to do anything flashy, they usually
never do, but they found theright quarterback. They've played incredible defense.

(11:54):
They shout out Houston last week andit's not saying much, but it's what
you're looking at from a Kansas Stateperspective when challenging in the Big twelve is
are they doing what they're elite atand are they doing that well? And
they are, and I think thatthat makes them probably the best prepared for
this matchup against Texas then they probablycould be. Their defense is firing and

(12:16):
also, and it's been fantastic sincethe last two weeks. Texas is dealing
with some quarterback issues because you weresis hurt Malik Murphy. He's been okay,
but I think serviceable is about ashigh you can go with the great
on him over the last two weeks, they you know, do anything spectacular
against BYU and that's why this numberssitting at four. I would love to

(12:37):
bet Kansas to bet Kansas State atthis was a little bit higher, but
it's just it's it's right on thatborderline of Texas is the home team.
They can still figure it out.If anything in this game, I'm not
betting it, but if anything,I'd probably take the under because Texas is
still trying to work on how theiroffense looks with Murphy at the helm,
and Case State's defense is lead bythe way Texas's defense is playing well.

(13:00):
Also, it just doesn't get theshine as it as it should maybe in
other programs because all the focus rightnow is on the quarterback situation. I
think defense dictates this always, andit's always gonna be the focus on offense
when you have a coach like SteveSarkisian. But yeah, I think defense
has really been even last year andthis year, defenses is what really is
good for Texas and what makes thema national championship not national championship contender.

(13:22):
I don't know if I could saythat about him, but at least college
football playoff contender and a team thatlooks like they can win the big twelve.
I would say Texas so far lookslike the best team in the Big
twelve. You know, everything thatI was concerned about with Oklahoma kind of
happened against Kansas. So I mean, this is these are to me,
this is the Big twelve right here. I think it's Texas and Kansas State.

(13:43):
I don't I don't want to takeso far because I you know me,
I haven't liked what Oklahoma's looked likeall year. I've been calling them
frauds. I don't think it's fairto completely just push them out of the
Big twelve conversation. But from theway I've seen these two teams play over
the past three weeks, and whatwe know about Kansas State, we thought
it was going to be, youknow, carry the momentum from last year.

(14:03):
They end up being the best teamin the Big twelve, and everything's
gonna be fine with them. Likeyou just said, it took a while
for them to settle in. Idon't know if we were expecting that,
but still veteran leadership there. Theyhave a lot of returning guys from last
year, and it just seems likethey have settled in. And I think
Kansas State and Texas are probably thetwo best teams in the Big Twelve.
That's probably fair. If you thinkKansas State wins this weekend, don't bet

(14:26):
the game. Bet them to winthe Big Twelve Championship game. Right now.
I believe they're plus the plus fivehundred. That's a move where if
Kansas State does go into Austin andwin this game. Look, I don't
know if they'll be the betting favoritebecause Oklahoma. I guess it's really dependent
on what Oklahoma does. But youyou have a potential situation this week in

(14:48):
the Big Twelve, or if kState beats Texas and Oklahoma State wins Bedlam,
which is going to be the probablythe most emotionally charged bedroom ever because
it might be the last time ithappens. That's something where Oklahoma could take
a nol, Texas could take annow, and we're sitting here next week
talking about Kansas State as a BigTwelve favorite and maybe not being too surprised

(15:09):
about it either because of how consistentlybeen over the last few years. So
I think that to me is thebet. If you're gonna take Kansas State
this week, take them to winthe Big Twelve Championship game at plus five
hundred because they can beat Texas andAustin, they can beat anybody, and
I feel like that's the way togo. I think it's gonna be low
scoring. That total is like isnow up to fifty, was at forty

(15:31):
nine this morning. So I'm kindof hovering around that spot where I attempted
to take the under in that game. I think, if you're gonna play
anything in that game, the underis it because of the defenses. And
look, Kansas State will methodically runthe ball. They have no problem doing
these ten to fifteen play drives thatlast seventy eighty yards and take a ton

(15:52):
of time off the clock, andI think that's part of the path to
victory. So yeah, k Statetake them to win the Big twelve championship
game. If you favor them thisweek. I'm staying away from the game
as whole, but if I wereto have I'm staying away right after that.
But they could be the under. So let's go to the next game.
There's two sec games. Obviously,we've got to talk about going over
the most notable games for Week tenof the college football season here in the

(16:15):
College Football Preview podcast. The firstrole we'll start with is Georgia and Missouri,
which is interesting. We've seen Georgiaat times they get kind of pushed
a little bit by teams that wedidn't expect. But here's Missouri that's been
a great team. Brady Cook hasbeen awesome for them at quarterback, and
Missouri has kind of been one ofthe I hate to say huge surprises,
but they've been a surprise so farthis season. Now they get the big

(16:40):
test and get to see if theyreally do belong in the conversation with the
big boys of college football. Theytake on Georgia in Athens. I don't
look, I think, because Ithink you're on Missouri in terms of getting
the points. So I'll let yougo first on that. But that's where
my initial lean was. That's whereI was going to go, and I've
beenating because Georgia I think is playingbetter. But I'll let you go first

(17:03):
because you actually have a play onthis game. Yeah, Georgia is playing
better, but Miszoo is the offensethat can test Georgia in the SEC East.
We've made we do this thing everyyear when we say Kentucky, oh,
they have a chance, they havea chance. Kentucky historically just has
not played Georgia well, and thatwas prooved yet again. This year.
Tennessee had their chance. Last year. Tennessee is now taking a step back,

(17:25):
and we saw how much Florida thegap in classes between Georgia and Florida
last week. So now you havethis Missouri team who comes in with one
of the best passing offenses in thecountry, two incredible wide receivers in Burton
and Wise, and a quarterback inBrady Cook who hasn't back down from a
lot of challenges. Georgia's defense.I know we sink our teeth in on

(17:45):
Georgia's defense's elite all that, butthey've given up twenty plus points in four
the last five, so they're alittle bit vulnerable, and vulnerable enough where
Miszoo can hang within two touchdowns.I don't think Miszoo can win this game.
I think Georgia has shown that thatnational champion quality, and also this
game is at home. I thinkthat gets to Missoo at some point,

(18:07):
but I don't see this game beinga big time blowout. I do think
Missoo can stay within two touchdowns.I think they can score in Georgia's defense
better than any team in the SECEast is equipped to do. And I
think this is a nice little Idon't want to call it test for Georgia,
but just a reminder. I think. I think it's more of a
reminder of they have to be ontheir best game, yep, going into

(18:32):
November. I think this is kindof a sharpening of Georgia's skill set.
Don't think they don't think they losethis game, but I think Miszoo at
least makes them a little nervy goinginto the fourth quarter. Yeah, I
mean, we haven't seen Georgia havea real test. I mean they've had
close games at a close game againstAuburn South Carolina, but those aren't good
teams. We see South Carolina's record. The Alburn game, it was not

(18:57):
close, Like let's be honest,it was close on the final score,
but like fair, Auburn doesn't makethat turnover in the third quarter. Georgia
runs through that that defense and we'renot even talking about think what I mean,
Bia is closer than it probably shouldhave been. Sure, is that
fair? That's fair? But youknow, lately they've been bludgeoning teams.

(19:18):
I mean Kentucky, they beat badFlorida they beat bad, but this is
the part of their schedule. Nowthey have Missouri, all Miss Tennessee.
You know, obviously not this isin Alabama that they're going to be facing.
But for the most part, Ithink the schedule has been easy for
Georgia so far. Now they're gettinginto a portion of their schedule where we
get to see them testing, andI think I think Missouri is the bigger
test than even Ole Miss in Tennessee. Real question in Missouri, missoo is

(19:41):
the biggest test up in the schedule. We've seen what Ole Miss is in
against the top ten teams. They'reI know, it's just the same old
thing with All Miss, but there'snothing new about Ole Miss. Whenever,
whenever those teams, you know, come up in terms of the schedule,
if they get Georgia and Alabama early, then Ole Miss is going to be
oh too long and then we havethem out you know, near the the

(20:02):
at the end of the top twentyfive. But so far they've only faced
one of those teams, so theylook really good and now they're in the
top. Ole Miss is a teamthat consistently will find itself in the top
twelve, but we'll never find itselfin the top six. Yeah. Yeah,
very Penn State like as they are. They almost are you know what
they are, State State, yeta little bit different. And then and

(20:22):
then Penn State ends up playing allmiss and like the Sugar Bowl the Citrus
Bowl, they were like, oh, out of these two teams get here.
Oh they'd they lost to their twobiggest games and then beat everybody else.
That's that's what they are. Sofor me, for this game,
I was going to I like thefifteen. I think the number is for
Missouri, and I was gonna takeit. But I keep, I keep

(20:45):
going back on what I've seen fromGeorgia, and it's not just we know
george is great always. What wasgoing to be the question mark was how
good could Carson Beck get by theend of the season, and what's it
going to be good enough? Youknow, at least near a Stetson Bennett
level, and stets And it wasa very good college quarterback, but near
it Stents at Bennett level. Toget Georgia to win another national championship and
be that dominant team that we expectto be the best team in college football.

(21:08):
I consider Georgia the best team stilland it was all just quarterback.
How how much could Beck catch upto the rest of the team and how
quickly can he do it? ThinkI think we've gotten there. You know,
I again, no huge test, but still, these are the numbers
that he's putting up, the efficiencythat he's doing it with, and the
quality of throws that he's making overthe last three weeks, three or four

(21:30):
weeks. This to me is theyou know, we have to see it
in a big game. But thisis a little bit different than me projecting.
You know, Drew Aller I thinkcan do those things, but we
haven't seen it yet. I thinkwe're actually seeing Carson Beck do things that
we expect him to do. He'spushing the ball downfield, making throws that
I think stets At Bennett was making, making good reads, progressing through his

(21:51):
reads, you know, everything thatyou expect from a Georgia quarterback and I
think a highly touted quarterback as wellwhen he was recruited. I think we're
starting to see those things. Thisisn't projecting anymore. I think we're just
actually seeing in front of us CarsonBeck looking like one of the better quarterbacks
in college football. Is he andMichael Pennick's level. Okay Williams level,
Is he, you know, thetop quarterback college football? No, but

(22:11):
I wouldn't say Stetson Bennett was either. It's just you need a really good
quarterback at least to get Georgia andthose big time playmakers to win a national
championship. And I think we're seeingthat from Beck. So I'm backing off
of this a little bit because Ithink we've actually seen Beck kind of take
that step forward, and I reallyliked what I've seen from him in Georgia.

(22:33):
Here's my counterpoint to that, whohas he been matched up against the
quarterback position that actually threatens Georgia orYeah, this is the first offense that's
going to threaten them for sure,Like no one on their on their schedule
so far is threatening. Can cancompare? I couldn't even tell you what,
like what the best offense would be. It's either between Kentucky or Florida,

(22:56):
and I those aren't great Kentucky butshot because they've not one, but
two explosive wide receivers. Yeah notagain. I don't think they'll win this
game, but I think within twotouchdowns absolutely, if they stay close or
even I wouldn't be surprised if aback doorsn't play either. Oh it could

(23:19):
be. Yeah, that's a that'sa good point. Let's go to one
last game. We won't talk aboutthe Pac twelve one because I think USC
is kind of losing a shine alittle bit. Let's go to Alabama.
Yeah, right, Alabama, LSU. This one's interesting because I said all
those things about Alabama and I thinkwe're they're starting to get themselves into conversations
again that we're used to seeing Alabamain and that's college football playoff discussions.

(23:41):
And I loved how they looked, but I mean, LS wasn't the best
team. I think they're getting carrieda lot by quarterback play. But that
quarterback's damn good and Jayde Daniels, you know, he's he's putting up Heisman
type numbers, and this is ashowcase game, I think mostly for him.
You know, LSU is not goingto be in college for all playoff
discussions. I think that's gone forthem. They already have two losses and

(24:03):
I don't know if they win thisgame, but LIS, you could certainly
push them, and it would makeme nervous if I was betting Bama.
The thing is, I still don'tknow if I'm that nervous. I might
actually bet Bama, but Alabama threefaverits. What do you think about this
matchup? I love Bama in thisgame. I think I do too.
There's one unit out of the fourthat has a significant disadvantage in its matchup,

(24:25):
and that's LSU's defense. Alice Usedefense has been so poor and you
can't take anything from the last twoweeks because they played Army last week and
I think they played Auburn a fewweeks ago. There's nothing there to say
they've turned it around against a qualityopponent. LSU's defense has been so bad
against some of the best teams incollege football, against Florida State, against

(24:48):
Ole Miss, heck even against Miszooand that victory. Yeah, And that's
the thing that's improving a lot withBama. Is I think Melrose Actually,
I think he's been good. Imean, I mean, we know the
offense itself is good players, goodskill position players. They were just figuring
out the quarterback position. And Ithink I think again the commitment to Milrow
really helped out. And don't countout the revenge angle here. Alabama doesn't

(25:10):
have many of those, but theylost last year in overtime in Baton Rouge.
LSDU traditionally over the last fifteen years, has not fared well in Tuscal.
The only even just a permanent revengeangle against LSU on The only two
times that LSU has won Tuscaloosa inthe last fifteen years are the two years
they've gone on to win the Nationalchampionship, the nine to six game and

(25:33):
then the Joe Burrow year. That'sit. This is in the National champion
championship caliber team. Now even close, this defense is horrible. I think
Alabama actually roles in this game.I don't think it's going to be particularly
close. I think this is agame by halftime you're putting on your second
or third screen. Ooh. Ilike that. It's it's gonna be a
little bit like the Florida State game, right Like, I think they're just

(25:56):
going to be Their defense is goingto be leaking oil the entire time.
Alabama gets close to thirty forty pointsand while Jayden Daniels does well, still
I imagine turnovers are going to happen. They're in Tuscaloosa, They're going up
against a good defense, so yeah, I know, don't. I know,
we don't associate the words Alabama andstatement game together much because they've been
consistently at the top of college football. But this is a statement game for

(26:18):
Alabama. A lot of people. If you were to take a step back
and go out on college football, well, if they win this game,
they are firmly back in Oh yeah, Alabama's But no, I think some
of the perception outside of the SECmaybe, Okay, they lost to Texas,
they're not as good as they havebeen, and so what they've beaten
the Ole miss and the rest ofthe SEC West, when in reality,

(26:41):
oh, they're actually playing really goodand ramping up to that national title level.
I think with Bama here, it'sa little bit of a statement.
This is the nighttime CBS game, the last one on CBS. If you
like a little nostalgia there. Ithink they come out and really just pummel
the other defense, and by theend of Saturday night, I think the

(27:03):
biggest winner is going to be Alabama. All right, let's get into our
bets for Week ten. On theCollege Football Preview podcast, Joe, I
think because we've went a little bitlong in the games, which good thing.
I think we got some good gamesthis weekend. But I'll just let
you go from Friday onto Saturday. What do you got? I'll just show
you it all, cook, I'lljust run through it real quick. There's

(27:27):
a lot. I've spent a lotof time looking at the board this week.
Tonight, I like both games.I'll take Boston College. This is
the you're talking to the captain ofthe Thomas Castiano's fan club. I love
the way he plays quarterback. BCleans into that too. Syracuse just hasn't
been good since September. I'll takeBC two and a half on the road

(27:48):
and Wyoming at home. Uh,They're one of those teams that are very
good at home, not so greaton the road. I'll take Wyoming minus
six and a half against Colorado Stateto Saturday. Notre Dame minus three.
I think everybody on that against Clemson. I don't think anybody is betting Clemson.
I'm ole Miss minus three against TexasA and M. Uh. This

(28:11):
is a game where A and M'soffense just it. It's not good.
Nothing's gonna be able to fix it. Ole Miss Again, we talked about
them being the Penn State of theSEC. They beat everybody else but can't
beat the top dogs. This isanother case of that short line at home.
I'll take that a stat. Iwas surprised in the SEC John Florida
undefeated at home and all of theirwins have been by double digits. In

(28:33):
Gainesville, I was gonna go Florida, and mostly because I don't think Arkansas
is any good. Arkansas is notgood. Yeah, but that that stood
out to me and kind of reinforcedwhat I believed in Florida. Just bet
for that as well. So right, so Florida. Actually that line's dropped.
It's now down the three and ahalf. It was five and a
half. So I'll gladly take thatas well. Nebraska playing phenomenal football right

(28:59):
now at State. Oh. Bythe way, Matt rule Quid leave the
Huskers to the Big Ten championship gamein his first year, depending on how
things shake out in the Big TenWest, I'll take Nebraska minus the three,
and then I'll roll down kind ofthe rest here real quick. There's
a lot. We'll rapid fire ArizonaState. I'm gonna ride their defense and
keep riding their defense. Plus elevenat Utah Utsa, a team you turned

(29:22):
me on to a few weeks ago. With Frank Harris back, they're in
a rhythm now. Minus seven anda half against North Texas. I'm gonna
ride Penn State until James Franklin provesotherwise. Here that line has dropped eight
in half. It was double digitsagainst Maryland. Look, I know it's
not great Maryland from the other gamesthat they've had, like Illin, Illinois

(29:44):
and north I mean, obviously they'rebetter than Northwestern, But I don't know,
it's a weird one. I thinkthat's too much of lost to Ohio
State and close game against Indiana, close game against Indiana. Yeah, I
think that's man. I think it'sa pretty good spot to buy in on
Penn State there. I think itis too I think that's a spot where
Penn State takes advantage of a Marylandteam that they Maryland just doesn't have that

(30:04):
next level at least I don't think. I think Penn State's defense shows up
in that game. Maryland has neverhad that next level No mom on Miszoo,
we talked about that. I'm takingthe over in bedlam Oli Gordon,
the running back from Oklahoma State, one of the most underrated players in college
football, just at two hundred andfifty yards last week. He is phenomenal.
He's gonna keep Oklahoma State in thatgame. I think you're gonna see

(30:26):
a lot of points, a lotof emotion in that game. I'm kind
of pissed though that. I wishthat was a primetime game. I wish
that was the primetime ABC game.Bedlam at Night would have been electric.
But bedlum still it usually always delivers. Going against your pirates two late minus
seventeen against ECU, that seems prettyeasy at this time. That's that's a
great play, Joe, let metell you. Otherwise, speaking of the

(30:47):
Big Ten West, Minnesota, they'rereally not really good, but they're in
the mix. They get Illinois athome minus two. I'll take them at
home. They've been pretty playing somepretty good defense as well. That Big
ten West picture is very I'm justkind of hoping now Wisconsin or Iowa doesn't
win the West we get somebody newthat way. It's just something different to
talk about going into Big Ten ChampionshipGame week. Liberty Louisiana Tech over fifty

(31:11):
eight, UNLV minus ten, appState minus three and a half all games.
I looked a lot in these groupof five games, John and it's
overwhelming, it really is. Butapp States against the Marshall team that hasn't
won and over a month. Liberty'soffense is on fire right now and UNLV
has been one of the best teamsagainst the spread. I'm gonna go back

(31:32):
to them, and then I'm takingWashington against USC just based off of pure
defense, and then Kentucky taking themagainst Mississippi State. Kentucky's again on that
ole miss penn State. I justmaybe a little level down where they can't
compete with the best teams in theSEC. But when they do what they're
they're really good at, they beatthe lower teams. And Mississippi State isn't

(31:53):
that good. So Kentucky wins, and then Stanford. We can't trust Washington
State at this point, so I'lltake Stanford plus third team at Washington State
just because the coops have fallen offso much. That's the marathon. Card
Man, that was a lot.I'm not gonna be nearly as much as
that, But I man, I'mall chalk this week, and it's really

(32:15):
bad. Notre Dame minus the three, Florida minus three and a half,
Washington laying three, and Alabama layingthree. I don't know why, but
I just like all of these spotsto again keep separating the Clemsons from the
Notre Dames of the world, theLSUS from the Alabama's of the world,
and the uscs from the Washington's ofthe world. You maybe we could see
an upset there. You know,I think USC matches up better against Washington

(32:37):
than they do some other teams, but it's just defense that is going to
be their achilles heel every single time. I just I think we're starting to
see the separation from these teams andthe rest, and I think we see
that this weekend more than others. These are some good games, but I
just I don't think LSU's good enoughto beat Bama. I don't think I

(33:00):
don't think that even USC is goodenough to be Washington. Clemson, we
know getting bad offensively. It's justme doubling down. I guess on what
we what we kind of think aboutthose teams coming into the weekend. Here's
your Bolt prediction. Bedlam's the bestgame of the weekend. Yeah, oh,
it probably is. I just likeit because you mentioned it earlier.

(33:21):
You know, this game might nothappen for a while. Ever again,
who knows, but for the nearfuture it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
And so yeah, one of theone of the better games, one
of the more intriguing games on theslate for week number ten. All right,
Joe, that is it for theCollege Football Preview. Awesome job.
