the metro area. More rain on tap come tomorrow. I's
are only going to be in the mid forties cooling off.
Currently we're at forty one degrees in Denver.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
It was exciting. We'd like the broncost.
Speaker 6 (00:52):
We want the stadium.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Business owners and people living near Burnham Yard got their
first chance to look at the plans for the Broncos
next home. Many worry about the increase in traffic for
the neighborhood, but people living near in Powerfield say it's
really no problem.
Speaker 7 (01:05):
People in this neighborhood are nervous about living next to
a stadium. I can tell you you have nothing to
be nervous about. It's a really great experience to live
next door to one.
Speaker 5 (01:15):
Anyways.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Connor Shree was at last night's open house as people
looked at plans and voice their concerns.
Speaker 7 (01:21):
Most neighbors view the stadium project as an opportunity, some
for affordable housing, others for better bike and pedestrian access.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Business owners are more uncertain.
Speaker 8 (01:31):
They aren't against the stadium, but say right now they
feel out of the loop and unsure of what the
future of their business looks like in Denver.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Connor Shree of KOA News now.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
That the women's soccer stadium plan for Denver. Denver Mayor
Mike Johnson is not worried about the team's threat to
move to another city if the city council does not
sign off on its stadium plans.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
My dad, body mine, let the Summit Sadium leave Denver.
We want that site to be here.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
The team is looking to develop the stadium for the
Denver Summit FC on a tight deadline after the Denver
City Council pushed back some key votes this week.
Speaker 7 (02:02):
I'm very confident we're going to work with the city council,
get the questions that they have answered, and we'll move
the stadium forward.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
But we are one hundred percent committed.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Some city council members say they need more information about
the costs of the new stadium before they commit to
spending the money. Denver has begun a major renovation of
Civic Center Park. Mayor Johnston and other city leaders kicked
off the project with the groundbreaking yesterday. Now, the plans
call for a remodel of the Greek Theater and the
construction of a plaza dedicated to a group of disabled activists.
(02:32):
The first phase of the renovation will cost about fifty
million dollars, should be completed by twenty twenty seven. Senator
John Higginloper is furious over the Trump Administration's decision to
split up a family in Durango in the middle of
an immigration battle.
Speaker 9 (02:46):
Fernando Hiramio Solano and his two children agree to return

their mother. Hiramo Solano and the kids have been in
nice custody since October twenty seventh, Senator hickelo versus the
Trump administration turned Fernando and his children's stream into tragedy
by giving them a choice of staying in ice custody
indefinitely or leaving the country. The families capture alled to

Last month, roddas and KOA News.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Colorado and seven other states hoping a federal court will
okay their settlement proposal against an apartment management group.
Speaker 10 (03:22):
The seven million dollar settlement contends Graystar Management was part
of a scheme that drove up rental prices. The allegation
is that Graystar and companies like it have used private
data and algorithms that allowed landlords to charge it more
for rent because competing landlords didn't have to compete by
offering lower rents. If the settlement goes through, such management
(03:44):
companies would have new restrictions on rental property algorithms and
data sharing platforms.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
David k KOA News.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
A new ballot measure could soon re shape how the
state prosecutes spentinel related crimes. The proposal is being announced
morning at the car Judicial Center downtown twenty third Judicial
District Attorney George Brockler blames the judicial system for the
scale of the problem.
Speaker 10 (04:08):
Colorado's sentencing system is so.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Freaking weak, But d you law professor in Feral tells
Fox thirty one harsher sentencing does not necessarily reduce overdose
deaths when the market is driven by people struggling with addiction.
Speaker 11 (04:22):
The United States in general, including Colorado, is facing enormous
issues right now.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Being too soft on crime is not one of them.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
The initiative would create new mandatory minimum prison sentences for
anyone convicted of dealing sentinel.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
It's a done deal.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
The bill ordering the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files
now signed into law.
Speaker 12 (04:44):
President Trump signed that bill directing the DOJ to release
the Epstein case files. The DOJ now has thirty days
to release it. Despite the Attorney General promising maximum transparency,
some Democrats say they still need to put pressure on
the Trump administration. Many We'reublicans maintained that the Democrats were
pulling up political stump by pushing for the release of
the Epstein files right now. Trump also noted on True
(05:07):
Social that his direction, the DOJ has already turned over
close to fifty thousand pages of documents to Congress from
those files.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
That's Fox's Christian Cordero. The Justice Department could choose not
to release some of the files if they're related to
an ongoing investigation. A new challenge in the Justice department
prosecution of former FBI director James Comey. The Justice Department
admits a possible lapse in how the case was presented
to the grand jury. A new Fox News poll shows
(05:36):
that looks at how President Trump and other politicians managed
the government shutdown, as well as how Americans are feeling
about the economy.
Speaker 13 (05:44):
President Trump's job approval rating is that forty one percent,
down five points from a month ago. Across the board,
voters didn't like how our leaders handled the shutdown, with
the President at sixty two percent disapproval and Republicans and
Democrats at sixty five three and sixty four percent disapproval.
But when asked if the shutdown was a hardship for
(06:05):
their families, fifty four percent said it wasn't at all.
Ten percent called the hardship severe. Economically, fifty two percent
of voters said inflation is not under control and that groceries, healthcare, utilities, housing,
and gas all costs more than a year ago.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
That's Fox's Grneal Scott. Former Presidents Joe Biden and George W. Bush,
as well as VP L Gore, are among those expected
today to attend the funeral service in DC for former
Vice President Dick Cheney. The White House says President Trump
will not be there, and don't expect to get a
glass of water at a restaurant in Aurora without asking
for it. The city council passed a resolution asking businesses
(06:45):
to stop handing out water in an effort to conserve water.
Aurora Waters Shinning Klein tells Fox thirty one it's only
a request for now. Everybody plays a role in Aurora's
water future. Cline says the change likely won't make a
big impact on water use, but the idea is to
get people thinking about water conservation. You're up to Dayton,
(07:05):
Colorado's Morning News. Hey, it looks like we'll finally be
getting some type of money and jobs reports this morning. However,
another one you won't be seeing literally ever. We'll explain
coming up in Business Money News. But first let's take
a look at your early Thursday morning drive. We head
to the Koa Traffic Center and say good morning too,
Jonathan Steel.
Speaker 14 (07:25):
Yeah, very good Thursday morning to Yeah, we're often running
in good shape out here. Really not much to contend with.
I don't see any construction that's lingering just yet into
the foothills. Perhaps I know near the Runaway truck ramp
there coming east on I seventy down Mount Vernon Canyon.
That's near Lookout Mountain. There was a lane restriction a
little bit earlier, but certainly no DeLay's volume, extremely light.
(07:47):
Foothills mountain roads looked pretty good for us. We're not
dealing with any problems. Like I said, here in town.
It's good build up, speeds are on the high side.
We'll keep you advised. Jonathan Steel on KOA eight fifty
am and not I for.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
ONEFF News time five ohweight with your business and money news.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics will be releasing its first
batch of unemployment figures since the government shutdown. Economists estimate
that fifty thousand public and private sector jobs were created
in September, more than double the number from August, but
the unemployment rate is expected to hold study at four
(08:19):
point three percent. In hourly wages rising, the job market
does not look to be getting any better. Investors are
starting to temper their expectations for a December interest rate
cut as a result.
Speaker 8 (08:31):
That's because the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced a new
schedule of data releases, and notably, the October jobs report
is not among them, along with related data on hiring
and layoffs. The November Jobs report is being pushed back
to mid December after the Federal Reserve concludes its final
policy meeting of the year. After the last rate cut,
FED chaired your own Powell indicated the lack of economic
(08:53):
data due to the government shutdown means another cut is
not a certainty.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I'm Chris Krasio on Wall Street.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
Stock closed in the green yesterday at the closing bell,
the Dow Jones Industrial average rose forty seven points to
forty six one thirty eight, the S and P five
hundred rows twenty five points to sixty six forty two.
The Nasdaq was up one hundred and thirty one points
and closed at twenty two five sixty four. With terras
pushing up the price of imports from China, including artificial
(09:20):
Christmas trees, this.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
May be the year then we go.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Natural ABC's Jim Ryan says the nation's tree farms start
gearing up for risk season.
Speaker 15 (09:27):
From the sprawling commercial tree farms of Oregon to the
mom and pomp operations like Jamie Jones's in Connecticut.
Speaker 16 (09:33):
Anyone who wants to get a beautiful rio freshly grown
Christmas Street, They'll be hot to find it.
Speaker 15 (09:37):
And the best kept secret of the season may be
the permits you can apply for at Recreation dot gov,
which allow you to cut a tree in a national
forest for as little as five dollars.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
And In and Out Burger opening its fourteenth Colorado location,
the chain will begin serving customers at a location on
Harvest Moon Drive in Longmont starting at ten thirty this morning.
The location will have one drive through lane because that's
a great idea for an in and out burger, but
also have indoor seating for eighty four customers. Our next
money update at five thirty eights with KOA Money.
Speaker 11 (10:08):
Then in KOI.
Speaker 8 (10:12):
Sports, the Nuggets beat the Pelicans won twenty five to
one eighteen in New Orleans. They got off to a
slow start, trailing by thirteen points early and also had
a lot of turnovers, but managed to win.
Speaker 17 (10:23):
Coach David Adelman, we have to take care of the
ball better, you know, on a game on the road.
Having twenty mistakes is too many. Tonight, we find a
way to win. We have to handle pressure better than
we did at the end, but again we find a
way to win. And I being around this, it's winning.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
It's so hard to win in this league.
Speaker 8 (10:40):
With Aaron Gordon out, Peyton Watson took some of the
scoring load, leading the Nuggets with a career high thirty
two points.
Speaker 18 (10:47):
I knew that there was going to be a need
for me to kind of increase my office the load
a little bit. I didn't have, you know, any idea
that I was gonna have thirty, But a lot of
nights you just go out there and you just try
to contribute to a win. Now is my mindset Tonight
and worked out.
Speaker 8 (11:02):
For Nikola Jokic had another triple double with twenty eight points,
eleven rebounds, and twelve assists. The Nuggets continued their road
trip tomorrow night in Houston playing the Rockets. The avalancheill
try to win their seventh straight game. Tonight, they host
the Rangers at Ball Arena. In college basketball, air Force
beat Alabama State sixty six to sixty four in Colorado Springs,
(11:23):
picking up their first win of the season. On Thursday
Night football. Tonight, the Texans host the Bills. Coach Sean
McDermott on the pros and cons of playing on Thursday night.
Speaker 19 (11:34):
It's hard on the players. It definitely is getting their
fresh legs back underneath of them and everything and coming
off of a game. So there's certainly challenges on the
front end, and there's certainly some kind of rest on
the back end for the guys, which is important.
Speaker 8 (11:48):
Texans quarterback CJ. Stroud will miss his third straight game
due to a concussion. Davis Mills will get the starts.
Major League Baseball's owners meetings continued yesterday. Commissioner Rob Man
said that he does not believe there will be more
restrictions on prop bets as the league deals with its
ongoing betting scandal. Cleveland pitchers Luis Ortiz and Emmanuel Classe
(12:10):
were charged with fraud, conspiracy, and bribery and arrested earlier
this month for their alleged participation in a scheme to
fix pitches. I'm Chad Bauer on the radio home of
the Broncos, Buffs and Rockies, and KOA Sports this afternoon
at three Colorado's morning News Sala.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
News Time by seventeen, there's reports of a Russia Ukraine
peace plan that President Trump has signed. A senior administration
official tells NBC News that the twenty eight point proposal
focuses on giving both side security guarantees to secure lasting peace,
and it's reportedly been in the works force several weeks,
with top US officials consulting both the Russian envoy and
(12:49):
Ukrainian representatives. The hostages released last month by Omas will
meet with President Trump at the White House today. The
President wanted to meet with the hostages the day after
they were released, but their medical conditions need it to
be addressed first. Denver Botanic Gardens has a new CEO.
Dona McGuinness joins Botanic Gardens after a six month search.
(13:09):
She replaces Brian Vote, who passed away back in March.
McGuinness comes to Denver after serving as the CEO of
the gardens from Naples Botanical Garden in Florida. She has
held that post since twenty seventeen. A guinness has visited
Denver Botanic Gardens many times, and her family says they
vacationed in Colorado.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
Over the years. A native of Seattle, she calls herself
a Child of the West.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Today is the Great American Smokeout Today to encourage people
to quit smoking.
Speaker 20 (13:35):
The American Cancer Society says millions of smokers have used
this event to quit since it began in nineteen seventy six.
And if this is your first attempt, they say, hang
in there. The average number of tries for a smoker
to become a non smoker is thirty and the benefits
to quitting aren't just for your health. Your wallet will
grow too, as the average smoker drops about forty five
(13:56):
hundred bucks a year on tobacco.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
I'm pre Tennis.
Speaker 4 (14:00):

Awards for Song of the Year, Single the Year, and
Music Video of the Year. Coming up next, President Trump
designed the bill to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
So now what, we'll take a look in just a minute,
taking a look at your Thursday morning drive.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
First, let's go to Jonathan Steele in the Koa Traffic Center.
Speaker 14 (14:28):
Got We're still in really good shape out here. It's
very very light. We're not seeing any construction in the
city right now in the north end I twenty five. Yeah,
building a little bit heavier coming out of North Glenn
and Thornton, but still maintaining good speeds as you make
your way into downtown. We're ten minutes between downtown and
the Tech Center. Two two five is about a ten
minute commute both directions out of Aurora, and of course
going to or even from the airport on Panya is
(14:51):
roughly about fifteen minutes I seventy west from Penya. Building
nicely for you two seventy I seventy six included, so
it's a good start. Jonathan Steel on KWA eight fifty
am and for one FM.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Gina Gantac on Colorado's Morning News our social media poll
question for this morning. As you heard in the top
of the hour newscast, they had the first open house
when it came to just the starting of the discussions
of the new Broncos Stadium that we'll be moving to
Burnham Yard. Just starting to answer some of the questions
when it comes to traffic flow and the businesses around
the area.
Speaker 5 (15:21):
So after hearing a little bit more about it. How
are you feeling about the plan?
Speaker 4 (15:25):
You can engage with us on our social media platforms.
Leave us a talk back on the iHeartRadio app right
now the options on x it really only gives you
four options. No worries, So excited, some worries, but excited,
skeptical with some questions. Are really not a fan right now?
A lot of people are saying no worries, They're very
excited for it. Again, as a reminder, this would be
moving to the Burnham Yard area in the next couple
(15:47):
of years, and it would have that retractable roof an
opportunity that a lot of people are looking for for
the possibility of not only hosting a Super Bowl, but
maybe having some of those concerts not get rained out
that we usually see at those big stadium shows at
Empower Field. So engage with us on our social media platforms.
Well more from kwa's Connor Shreve coming up to the newscast.
(16:07):
He was there covering a lot of it, and you
can see some of this coverage on our Instagram page
as well.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
Looking at the weather.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Speaking of the weather, when we look at what it
would be like, obviously a bye week for the Broncos
today this weekend.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
But if we did have.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
The weather going on for this weekend, it would be
a chilly chili game, a snowy one, possibly a rainy
one for sure, because right now what we're seeing is
the possibility of some rain moving into our area later
this afternoon. That would be the biggest factor because it's
been so dry and so unseasonably warm for the past
(16:42):
couple of days, the past couple of weeks really, and
I know that our ski areas are really suffering trying
to get some actual snow, not the man made snow
that they continue to see all the time. Joining us
now on the Kwa Common Spirit Health Hotline is Fox
thirty one meteorologist Kylie Burst.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
Appreciate your time as always.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
Okay, so finally we're seeing some change in our forecast,
which is much needed after a very very dry, warm
couple of weeks.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
Can we even say months at this point?
Speaker 21 (17:13):
I mean, yeah, it's been a for a few months.
So we've gone twenty three days without any sort of
moisture whatsoever. I was looking back on those, you know,
going back to October, which was already not a very
wet month in general, and we haven't had snow in
over two hundred and sixteen days, so finally some rain
is on the way. We're gonna see that snow moving
in from the south. So it's the warmer cord system
when we're talking about the chance for rain versus snow,
(17:36):
and the closer we get to it, the warmer it's looking.
I think most of the action arrives for the Metro
area after the sun goes down. There's a chance we
could get a couple of brief showers right around three
four o'clock. Most of it will be later on tonight
overnight into tomorrow morning. My only place is in the
Metro that I could possibly see some snow, and again
it's looking warmer is down over the Divibe and on
the west side where those elevations are a little bit higher.
(17:58):
We're talking over sixty five hundred feet maybe said thousand.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
And when you talk about snow over the divide, is
that just going to be like just some flakes? Would
anything really stick if we saw anything, you know, I.
Speaker 21 (18:08):
Mean we're right on the edge of that temperature line where, yeah,
if it drop three more degrees, they could pick up
a slushy inch or two. I just think that it's
going to be so warm leading into it, and then
it's going to be right on the edge. So I
think our best bet is that if we get some snow,
it's going to kind.
Speaker 5 (18:22):
Of melt on contact.
Speaker 21 (18:23):
So I'm not fully ruling it out. I'm just saying
it's not the likely scenario.
Speaker 22 (18:27):
Kiley.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Where's the system coming from and where it's coming from.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
Is it a rain maker or snowmaker anywhere else?
Speaker 21 (18:33):
Yeah, it's been really impactful in Phoenix and we so
we've seen it in Arizona in New Mexico, and that's
part of why we're talking about rain and not snow,
despite the fact that or what three weeks into November at.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
This point, and we are way.
Speaker 21 (18:45):
Way behind when it comes to that first snowfall, So
there's a much warmer system. Usually once we're getting into
this time of year, we're talking about systems that are
dropping in from like the Pacific Northwest or to our
north and that would be a much colder cord system
versus this one that's bringing that warmth. So it's mostly rain.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
I know the ski resorts are really trying to do
anything they can to get more and more runs open, making.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
Their own snow mainly, but are.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
They going to see a lot of snowmaking events? No
natural snow, I should say in the coming days.
Speaker 21 (19:11):
You know what, over the next week, things are looking
much more unsettled, which is good news for our ski resorts.
I'll be completely honest with you, me and are other
meteor elgis. We were sitting down this morning, every single
other run is saying this.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
Day gets rain, not this day, this day.
Speaker 21 (19:24):
Gets some snow. So it's definitely right now. There's a
big question mark at pendpoint whether the team's going to
be watching it because there are some rain and snow
chances next week. Great news for our ski resorts could
potentially be bad news when it comes to holiday travel.
So we are going to be watching that and hopefully
the models get it together by next week. Because my goodness,
I mean that is so unusual.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
It literally took me until now for when you said
that for me to go, oh, my goodness, yeah, Thanksgiving
next week, we should probably focus on holiday travel and
everything that could be impacting that as well. Fox thirty
one meteorologist Kylie Burst. Kylie, appreciate you, thank you so much.
Speaker 11 (19:57):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
The future for the women's Soccer Stadium in Denver.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
We'll get the latest coming up in the newscast.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Jonathan Steel joining us with the check of our Thursday
morning drive and the KOA Traffic Center.
Speaker 14 (20:08):
Yeah, it's still a fast track around the city. Speeds
on the high side anywhere you're traveling. Really, the north
end I twenty five is building a little bit heavier
down from one hundred twentieth. You're roughly about twelve minutes
to downtown to Colefax. Ten minutes between downtown and the
Tech Center. If you're coming up now from the E
four seventy at ter change out of the Tech Center
to Colefax, that's about fifteen minutes on the commute. C
four seventy looks great through Highland's Ranch sixth Avenue out
(20:31):
of Lakewood Boulder Turnpike twenty five minutes Denver to Boulder.
Jonathan Steel on KA eight fifty Am and ninety four one.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Of FM KOA News Time five thirty two, on Colorado's
Morning News eight fifty am ninety four one of them,
and on the iHeartRadio app. Good Morning, I'm Gina Gondek,
Fox thirty one, pinpoint weather cloudy day on tap for
US high temperature should be in the mid fifties this afternoon.
Then that rain will be moving in by tonight's like
Kylie mentioned, and continuing into tomorrow. Chile much of this
(21:00):
work week ahead. Currently we're at forty one degrees in Denver.
Mixed reaction from business owners and people living near the
proposed new home of the Broncos, the Broncos Stadium site
at Burnham Yard.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
I think looks fantastic.
Speaker 7 (21:12):
I mean, I think they're using a space that probably
really wasn't going to have many great potential in the future.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
Last night's open house gave neighbors the chance to learn
about the area's history and plan for projected growth, as
well as the impacts to their homes and businesses.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
Some business owners say the city has.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Left them in the dark about the future of the
development and what it will leave them.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
We have no idea, I mean, other than seeing the
front page of the paper. We don't know any more
than anybody else. That's that's you know, looked at her
seeing anything.
Speaker 8 (21:44):
So our goal is to find more information to know
how this might affect this and try to prepare.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Most residents sighted parking as their top concern. Is it
just our social media poll question for this morning, how
are you feeling about the plan for the new Broncos
Stadium after that last open house? You can get with
us on our social media platforms, leave us a talkback
on the iHeartRadio app. Denver Mayor Mike Johnson says he'll
do whatever it takes to get a women's soccer stadium
built within the city and county, especially since businesses along
(22:11):
South Broadway tell them that they really want the stadium
to increase foot traffic. The city council delayed the votes
to release the public dollars necessary to complete the deal.
The team says it'll pay for the stadium, but Denver
would have to pay for the land and improvements in
the surrounding area. The CBI hoping to solve some cold
cases today by hosting an event to gather information about
(22:33):
unsolved missing persons cases.
Speaker 23 (22:35):
Today's open house in Arvada encourages families to bring updated
photos and medical and dental records to help with the
ongoing investigations. Authorities are also asking for cheek swabs from
at least two family members so they can catalog DNA
in their database. Investigators hope this afternoon's event at the
Lake Arbor Community Station on Vance Drive will help them
(22:58):
stay connected with family during investigations that can often take
years to resolve.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
Brenda Stewart Koway News.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
A plan to charge for street parking and Old Town
for Collins not sitting well with people who live there.
Speaker 5 (23:13):
Ko's Chad Bauer joins his life to explain.
Speaker 8 (23:15):
In downtown four Collins, on street parking is free and
there are also three paid parking garages. City officials say
the current parking model is no longer sustainable and that

there through York and then kind of easing up as
you continue through Conmer City leading out towards I seventy.
It looks like the ramp from eastbound seventy to Penya
is kind of slow. Also, we've seen that pattern many
times over in the past oh several months.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
Actually, just a little surge of volume there.
Speaker 14 (33:25):
It's not really a delay into the airport though at
this point I seventy west right around though maybe two
two five slight slowing, but we're not seeing any kind

Speaker 4 (33:44):
The cowdown is on as the Justice Department now has
thirty days to release the files on sex offender Jeffrey
Epstein after President Trump signed the bill yesterday, but there's
still no guarantee that every document will be made public.
Joining us on the Kawa Common Spirit Health Hotline is
Box News Radio, Ryan Schmells. Ryan, appreciate your time as always. Okay,
explain what are some of these caveats when it comes
(34:05):
to the files, what could be released and what could
still be withheld.
Speaker 11 (34:10):
Yeah, Well, they're still expected to release all the documents
and put it on the DOJ website in a downloadable
form within that thirty day timeline. That you just mentioned. However,
there are some new investigations that the Department of Justice
is undergoing when it comes to certain people who might
have ties with Jeffrey Epstein. Now, Bondi has not given
any indication what that specifically is President Trump. I believe
(34:31):
it's hinted that it could be some Democrats who have
passed interactions or allegations of interactions with Jeffrey Epstein. But
you know, keep in mind, if there's an active investigation,
some of those documents might not be released.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
Ryan, I'm curious when it came to the congressional vote,
obviously Trump could have just ordered the release on his own.
Do you think the vote was more procedural just to
get on record what these lawmakers thought of.
Speaker 11 (34:57):
Well? Maybe, but you know, when you talk talk to
Thomas Massey, who is who is the architect of this
the Republican he believes that, you know, when you have
this vote, and now that you have the legislation passed,
this has legal obligations that the Department of Justice otherwise
did not have to do beforehand, and it seemed like
he kind of liked having that legal obligation where you know,
(35:20):
they could face penalties. The Department of Justice and the
officials involved could face significant penalties if they don't release
the documents.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
Ran When we talk about the Epstein files, we've really
just been using the term the Epstein files. But when
we talk about them, what are they like specifically? Obviously
we don't know exactly the names and people in them.
Speaker 5 (35:39):
What are we talking about here?
Speaker 11 (35:41):
We're talking about pretty much anything that the Department of
Justice the FBI recorded in terms of their investigating into
Jeffrey Epstein. So any text messages they obtained, any emails
they obtained, anything, any testimony from witnesses that they obtained,
(36:02):
anything that might be related to their investigation that they
can declassify regarding Jeffrey Epstein. That's my understanding of what
could be released to the public.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
And do we have any speculation we talk thirty days,
you think they're going to use all the thirty days
in order to decide how they're going to post this,
and then once it's posted, like you mentioned, easily accessible,
like I could just jump online DJ website and see
them myself.
Speaker 11 (36:25):
Pretty much. That is how the language is written in
the text that you're supposed to be able to go
on the dog website and be able to download and
easily search for all of this documentation. Now, yeah, there
probably are some legal proceedings that the Trump administration could
take and some caveats that could delay this and maybe
(36:46):
give them more time related to thirty days or prevent
certain things from being released. But at the same time,
you know, the legislation does say thirty days.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
Fox News Radios, Ryan Smells, Ryan, thank you for joining us.
Speaker 5 (36:57):

Wrapping up the show here on Colorado's Morning News, as

up this morning?
Speaker 20 (37:10):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (37:11):
I got up late night. Yeah, I woke up. I
looked at the clock. It was three point thirty.
Speaker 22 (37:16):
I said no, and I went back to sleep.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Till four ten.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
And both times you woke up with or without an alarm.
Oh yeah, I don't set an alarm at all. No,
you don't even have like a backup alarm. No, are
you serious?
Speaker 2 (37:31):
Yeah, I'm serious.
Speaker 22 (37:32):
Wow, But Dragon's looking at me like I'm crazy.
Speaker 5 (37:37):
What not even a backup alarm? I think I set
fifteen alarms.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
I wake up to the first one, but I have
fourteen other backup alarms just.
Speaker 5 (37:47):
In case I sleep through it.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Dragon says he has two alarms. This is the thing.
You're you're young.
Speaker 22 (37:54):
I'm not as young, and I think when you get
older you just wake up earlier.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
I think it's just a thing.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
But that's the middle of the night at this point.
Speaker 22 (38:04):
Wow, I just wake up and then I'm not tired
normally I'm up. Even though I accidentally said that Rick
Lewis covered.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
The Rockies, I don't feel that tired. So I don't know.
Speaker 5 (38:15):
I don't know.
Speaker 22 (38:18):
On the Raiders game here yeah, yeah, but here I am.
We got a ton of stuff to do on the show,
some really random kind of topics. I'll mention two real quick.
A lawyer representing a woman who's an actress. She does
a one woman show and her show got canceled because she.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
She portrays historical figures.
Speaker 22 (38:37):
And her show got canceled because a couple of the
the ladies that she portrays are black and she's white. Now,
she wasn't doing blackface or anything like that, and still
they they canceled her show, and this has ended up
in court.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
Now, I think it's an interesting thing.
Speaker 22 (38:53):
And then we're going to talk about something called seasonal
effective disorder. SAD is the acronym and and it's really
about folks who struggle with their mental health as the
days get shorter and darker. Gina, just back from scurrying
around to do something. Get your steps in.
Speaker 4 (39:13):
Yeah, I did a little bit running around in the
studio today because I was dragging unlike you.
Speaker 5 (39:19):
Actually pretty tired of this.
Speaker 22 (39:20):
All right, Well, Gina and I will be back in
