Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's visit with coach, with you and your hockey team, coach,
Brad Burry Morning, coach.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Morning coaching, tim.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
As us your furnace at your house like mine here,
it doesn't stop, it's it's running.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Well, he's at the rink already, I tell you what
he's he's already inside the comfy confines at the Ralph
getting getting his day started.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
That's good. Well do we rescued the Ralph on Saturday
night with a nice win over Colorado College And that
was big in a lot of ways, wasn't it? Coach?

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:40):
It was.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
I mean coming back and you know, starting the right
way on Saturday and finishing the game and you know,
you know, holding the CC team to the one goal there.
So yeah, I know our guys did a good job
coming back and getting the second game.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
You know, t J had a nice night on Saturday.
But I looked at it, TUNI what twenty three block shots?
That helps, doesn't it?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah? It does? You know, like I said, through through
a situation where you're playing these owe coverage, you know,
you're getting in shooting lanes, you're deturing pucks going to
the net, and you know TJ did a really good
job of getting the wind, but our guys did sell
out their bodies to have to block some shots. And
part of that's on the PK too as well as
far as you know, like I said, making sure there's
no open shooting lane. So you said, those are habits

(01:24):
and details you got to keep keep harping on and
keep doing in games.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, that's uh, what I noticed quite a bit was
the block shots and in the PK and the guys
just like I say, filling the lanes or doing everything
right on that. Did you change anything on the PK
going into that.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, we did, Like at the end of the day
that you know, when we had the open week, we adjusted,
you know, more of a situation where you know, you're
you're you're getting up in the three lanes where usually
they are in the umbrella on a power play, you know,
the touring puck's making them move pucks instead of getting
open shots to the than that, and I know situations there.

(02:04):
On Friday night, I think we obviously let in a goal,
a couple of goals on the PK, but they were
trying to do the right things and on Saturday they
fully executed it.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, that was a wild one Saturday night over there
six goals scored in a third period between the two teams,
and that was you pointed out tuesday. Hey, there was
no give in you guys, no give up.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Right, No, yeah, for sure, one hundred percent. You know,
like I said, we we uh, third period kind of
got away from us a little bit there, But I
thought at the end, you know, we made a fight
to come back and just needed probably one or two
more saves there to help us out, and you know,
we didn't get it. And I thought on Saturday night
we did. So I think that's the difference between went
in and losing us, you know, you know, getting into

(02:45):
shooting lanes and getting some blocks and getting a save
at a key time and you know, playing the right
way for sixty minutes.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
It's early in the week, so you probably don't have
much info on Jade and Piran as far as this week, or.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Do you not yet? No, it's still a little bit
early here, you know, like I said, he's you know,
we're hoping that he's going to be in this weekend.
We still have like three days left to practice here
before we play, so at the end of the day,
you know, is still plenty of time and you know,
hopefully we'll have him in this weekend.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, no doubt. He adds uh, he adds a bit
of uh skill level too. I mean he's just fun
to watch it. Do you enjoy watching on the bench?

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, for sure. Like he's you know, I think at
the end of the days, he's an elite skater. He's
got really good edges and you know, he's tough to
the fend. And you know when he's playing playing uh,
you know, the right way and playing playing at a
fast pace, it's it's it's exciting to watch him. And
you know when when when the other team has the
key on him, that means other guys are open as well. So, uh,

(03:44):
he's done a good job and I think he's elevated
his play over the last few weeks.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Well, the other guy, it's really of it. His play
is Dylan James, don't you think.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Oh, he's probably one of our most consistent players, you know,
and you know he had two and two the other
night on Friday night there and he did a good job.
And you know he's been a consistent player for us
all year here, but his playmaking now has gotten to
a high, high level. He's always been an elite skater
and kind of hard on the fore check, but now
he's you know, making plays with the puck and scoring

(04:13):
goals and that's exciting to see for a guy like him.
And and he's playing his development over the course the
last last few months.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
He's probably got to be jacked a little bit working
on the power play too.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Huh, yeah, you know what I mean. That creates opportunity
for him if you know, some guys are out, you know,
and you know he gives him. You know, he's earned it.
He's he's absolutely earned that right to be there. And
he's doing done a good job being at net front
there and you know, creating having in front of the net,
retrieving pucks off on retrievals and you know, doing a

(04:45):
good job. They're so we're excited to see where what
he has there.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Well, you faced Denver twice already this season. What do
we see in the Pioneers?

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah, you know what, they've been a little inconsistent this year.
They're a really good team, but they've been a little
ink consistent as well. Uh, you know with their results
and stuff. You know, we're I think one point I
hit them in the standings here with the same amount
of games, and you know it's going to be you know,
we're fighting for home ice here. They're gonna be hungry team.
We're hungry as well here, and it'll be, uh, you know,
we've got a little revenge from the last time they

(05:15):
came in here, and you know, we're motivated to to
get going playing in Denver there and trying to get
the result that we need to get. So it'll be
it'll be a fast paced game and it always is
when both both of these teams are on the ice.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
It's almost like a home game for you guys in Denver,
isn't it.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yeah, we got a lot of lum down there for sure.
You know, I think wherever we go, you know, we're
in Saint Cloud, it was the same thing. And and uh,
you know all around the country, the people come out
that are alum and it's great to see the support there,
especially in Denver area.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Did you watch the bean Pot last night?

Speaker 2 (05:48):
No? I didn't, No, I did not. I did not.
I saw at Boston University beat Bcason a pretty good
game there. So uh yeah, that's uh, that's interesting to
see there, and I'll probably see some of the highlights
after here today.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
I would guess. So, yeah, all right, we'll be looking
forward to talking to you tonight. Drag you out of
the warm home and down to here goes pure market.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
All right, all right, thanks coach, Yeah, thanks coach. All right,
there goes coach Brad Berry, joining us as he does
on Tuesdays,
