Treasure Games Comes to Colorado! Chatting with the Creator Dirk Gibson

I had the opportunity to hop on the phone with the creator of a new mobile game that has made it's way to Colorado. It's called "Treasure Games". This game gives players an opportunity to find real treasure in the real world and win life changing prizes. Talking with Dirk I learned about how this exciting new mobile game came to be. We discussed it's first million dollar winner and how to get involved in playing if you live in Colorado. "Wish Lamps" is the first game introduced. I basically feel like I need to go on and Aladdin journey after speaking with Dirk. Take listen below. I felt with something this exciting happening in the mile-high I had to tell you about it.

I've been seeing so much stuff aboutTreasure Games, but I think for my

listeners that might not exactly understand whatTreasure Games is. Can you kind of
break it down for us and kindof tell us how this this became to
be. Yeah, So a longtime ago, decades ago, somebody won
like five hundred million dollars in thelottery, and I thought to myself,
that's not the best way to spreadwell if one person, because there was

millions of people putting in money andonly one person one. I thought a
better model for that would have beenfive hundred people winning a million dollars instead
of one person laying five hundred andso I kind of in the back of
my mind said, one day I'mgoing to build a better model. And
then six years ago I was thinkingof this TV show idea, and I
thought, what if I could createa show where people could find a magic

lamp and get three real wishes.And it didn't quite work out as a
TV production schedule type show for us, even though I've made quite a few
TV shows, that one just didn'tfit the model. But when I put
that idea together with my idea fromyears ago about spreading wealth, I started
writing this business plan. It wasjust inspired in me and I felt compelled

to build it. Actually, I'mlike, I could do a lot of
good in this world. I couldspread a lot of wealth. I could
build a platform where you know,thousands can win every year just in this
country instead of eight people winning thejackpot. So that's what's inspired it.
And so what I've built and launchedon January first of twenty twenty four,
it took five years to build.It was Treasure Games, and the first

game that came out is called WishLamps. And so you subscribe. There's
a free trial, but you cango in there subscribe and then you play
the game and the country is groupedup into regions and you see which regions
are activated, and you see whatthe lamps are worth. And then you
get clues every day and you goout and you know, you treasure hunt
for real. You solve the cluesand you go out and try to find

the lamp, and if you findit, you win some money. So
part of the platform Treasure Games isthe games and they're real treasure hunts.
The other part of it is entertainment, and that is where the treasure hunters
are updated uploading their own content oftheir treasure hunts and so it's really fun
to watch them interacting through video andit's all very positive and they're all like
sharing their adventures. So it's likethe TikTok of treasure hunting, right,

and it sounds super cool. Solet me kind of get this straight.
It's almost like Treasure Games is almostlike an augmented reality app, but people
are actually out here finding physical wishlamps. Like your most recent winner of
your first game, it was eithera million dollar cash prize or it was

what a million two in wishes?Is that right? Yeah, so the
first game called wish Lamps. You'reexactly right. The technology that we innovated
drives the game because you have toyou have to use advantage clues and you
have to solve clues and you haveto get hints and stuff like that.
So you're working the clues and butthere's there's these advantage clues where you can
drop a pin and see if you'rewithin one hundred miles, and then your

phone can turn into a compass andpoint out the treasure. I mean,
there's just all this school technology,but the treasure is real. It's a
real physical item that they've been hiddenall over the country, and you have
to get outside and go, youknow, get active, go on an
adventure. And you know, ittook the winners three trips to Dallas.
They drove fourteen hours one way fromNew Mexico to Dallas three times and they

found it. And so the waythis game works is if you find the
wish lamp, the actual lamp bend, and you get you know, prove
that you played the game and youwant then you get to choose one million
dollars cash or three wishes worth onepoint two million dollars. And they chose
the wishes, and the only caveatthere is that the third wish has to
be for someone else, anyone elsebut yourself. So that that was the

first region we kicked off, wasone point two million. They chose.
We bought them a sprinter Mercedes Sprintervan for wish one, we bought them
a motel for a wish to theyown a motel and wish three they made
a donation to the Harry Krishner Centerin Dallas because it had helped save his
life when he was homeless in Seattle. The guy that won used to be
homeless and now he's an incredible guy. Him and his spouse, Michelle,

they're awesome. So anyways, sowe wanted to open more regions, but
funding wise, if I wanted toopen more regions, I had to lower
the amount. So I opened thenext region, which is Region seven at
two hundred thousand. But I haveanother region opening at one point two million
on July first, and then anotherregion and open at two hundred thousand on
August first. So there's one activeright now, and then there's two more

coming. So there'll be three goingat the same time and they'll just be
at different values. Wow, thatis so cool. So now tell me
about the region that Colorado here isa part of. And you're saying that
the prize for this is two hundredk. Yeah, So the next region

we activated. So Region eight wasthe first region we actively That was Texas
and New Mexico. There if yougo to our website or our mobile app,
either one, you can see thegame, and the game shows you
which states are grouped into a region. So there's ten different regions and all
the states are grouped up. SoRegion eight was the one that just played
out. And by the way,we launched that thing in eighty eight days
later we had millionaires and they andthey had only joined for sixty nine days.

So in sixty nine days, thosetwo became millionaires in Ota Motel and
you know, it's a pretty coolstory. But anyways, so because we're
self funding this, me and mypartners, my four partners, there's no
venture capitalists, just some regular peoplethat want to do something cool and fun
and spread wealth. We're funding thisthough for us, we have to grow
this organically with subscribers and then eventuallyget sponsors. So I can't do ten

regions right now one point two million, but eventually, I would say by
into the year, you know,if this catches on like it is,
we probably start January, we'll haveall ten regions going at one point two
million, but right now we havethem at different prices. So Region seven
is the one Colorado is in andit involves four states, So there's Kansas,
Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Colorado orin Region seven. So that one

activated on May first, so whatlike twenty nine days ago, So it's
at two hundred thousand cash. There'sno wishes with that one. We're just
going to write someone to check fortwo hundred thousand whoever finds a lamp first.
So it's eight ninety nine a monthto subscribe or eighty nine ninety nine
for the year, and more lampscome out throughout the year, and like

I said, there'll be multiple lampsat the same time and it's the same
price no matter how many regions areactivated. But right now there are two
hundred three hundred people in Colorado lookingfor that lamp that think it's in Colorado.
Okay, that's what they narrowed itdown. They think it's there,
could be in one of the otherstates, but they're all using the clues
and solving them. So this avidgroup of treasure hunters is getting bigger and

bigger and bigger. I would saythere's probably two thousand people in the platform,
mightbe twenty five hundred right now,but I know at least two or
three hundred of them are actively likegoing through that state looking for this solving
