From the Kind two five Morning show, my name is Damon,
It's Amanda Joe. Today's Fascinating Facts all about National Burger Day,

(01:08):
and this makes sense. During World War One, hamburgers were
called Liberty sandwiches in the United States. They they did
not want any connection with Germany. It was first called
the Aristocrat, then they went with the Blue Ribbenberger. Finally
the Big Mac is what we're talking about. I don't

(01:30):
know where they got the other names from. First Big
Mac came out today in sixty eight sold for.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Oh gosh, don't tell me, like cents forty nine cents.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
I mean it was sixty eight, nineteen forty two, got it?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Got it?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
So there you go. A few fascinating burger facts today,
to be followed by even more fascinating stuff about the
world of country music. We call it the scoop.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Well, somebody had to bail out on shows last week
because they have a new addition plus an epic Hoody throwback.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Ooh, epic Hoody throwback on the way. Give us fifteen minutes,
it's yours coming three ninety fo six twenty six MP
day already, h and it is time for a man
in Joda updates in the world of country music. We
call it the Scoop.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Brought to you by our friends at Monaco Ford, So
congrats to co Wetzele He had to dip out on
the Hardy Tour last week, and initially all he let
fans know was it was a family situation. While that
situation was the birth of his first child, who he
and his longtime girlfriend named Woods Madison Wetzel. Yes there's
a photo. He is totally in love and she's so

(02:42):
adorable Woods Wetzel.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
That's why kid. Oh yeah, I didn't even Woods Wetzel.
Well ww on the monogram.

They're featured on Scotty's new song Bottle Rockets.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
It's a sampling of hold My Hand.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
While they decided sampling, well yeah, they redid it, so
he made a point. Well, they decided to share a
throwback of when they appeared on Sesame Street back in
the day teaching kids how to cross.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
The street hold my hand when we cross the street man,
come on, super cute, Darius, you rock and so did
the Blowfish as well. There you go. Today's scoop on
the Country ninety two five Morning show, Today's feel good
Story you actually told me about and I kind of
glanced over it, and then I got a note from
my friend who listens to us from Hawaii about this story. No, no, no,

(03:37):
when I mentioned you, oh my god, I told you
about that and it's a really cool story.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
So you ignored me, and then somebody else told you
that was a good story, and you're.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Like, yeah, I should probably talk about it, Joe. I see,
I see took off. Since that happened, it really took off,
and I want to share it with you coming up
here on the Country ninety two five months. Don't get
butt hurt. Ah, it was a little sweet right there. Hey,
my name's Damon. That's Amanda Joe Rocks, and our beautiful
thing therapy dog is here as well. It is time
for today's feel good story. And again I heard this

(04:05):
from you and was probably going to cover but then
my friend who listens to us from Hawaii said, oh,
you're gonna love this. It's a feel good story. It's
the story of this guy. He's twenty eight year old.
His name is Oliver Widgery's from Portland, Oregon. He got
diagnosed with this rare bone disorder that could even paralyzed.
So he cashed in his four oh one k he

(04:25):
bought a sail boat. He learned to sail by watching YouTube.
He grabbed his cat Phoenix, and he set off to
sail around the world, starting with Hawaii. You showed me
the story. Story took off when you had told me
about He had about three or four thousand followers on TikTok.
He's got one point two million now watching this twenty

(04:47):
four day journey that ended this weekend. He say, sailed
into this harbor. Even the governor was there, gave him
an honorary membership to the Waikiki Yacht Club. And now
he's thinking maybe he's going to head to French Polynesia next.
You just got to fix a few problems on the boat,
and he's got to let Phoenix, you know, get his
land pause back, he said, if you want to follow

(05:07):
him in again, it's it's it's truly there, it is,
it's truly inspiring. His TikTok handle is Sailing with Phoenix,
Sailing with Phoenix at Sailing with Phoenix. On social platforms,
like his last Instagram post where he wrote, Dear Corporate America,
I won.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Ha ha ha cool right, sailing around the world with
my cat. That's a little I love it, dude.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
He learned his sail watching YouTube videos and he takes
off for twenty four days on the ocean. That is
you can learn a lot on YouTube. You know what
that is? Something else and today's feel good story thanks
to my friend Mike and Amanda Joe. Thanks Mike for
backing me up nine two five look at this already
Wednesdays seven o'clock in the morning, coming up your chance

(05:52):
to win Brad Paisley tickets with a Google Buster. First, though,
we got to get to the news, the hard biting
news for the Manda Joe.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Weather today, most cloudy, some rain. Late tonight ties around
seventy page Becker's and the Dallas Wings came to town
and beat the Connecticut Sun one oh nine to eighty seven.
Last night, Pacers took Game four against the Knicks one
thirty to one to twenty one. They're now up three
toh one in the series. Game five back in New
York tomorrow at eight pm. And today is National Hamburger Day.

(06:21):
Americans collectively we eat about forty billion a year. So
YELP published its list of the top twenty five burger chains.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
I gotta say I only really.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Recognize four in the top ten way back, well Red Robin.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
I take it back five. Red Robin was number.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Ten way back, number eight, five guys seven, Shake Shack,
number three, number one in and out Burger, though I've
never had one of those.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
I did was in California. It was all right. McDonald's
didn't even show up until number seventeen. But oh my goodness,
lit bit, I think they're doing alright. Though I think
they're okay.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
But I was saying that now that I'm in Connecticut,
I know Louis Lunch in New Haven's a big deal
when it comes to Hamburger's, right.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
And I told you I deep dived into that it's
not actually correct. Here's the deal. They trace it back
to Hamburg Germany. It's called the Hamburger Steak, and then
they brought it over here the immigrants, and they made
it Louis Lunch. Supposedly they call it the Hamburger sandwich
because it was the first time a hamburger was served
on toast in nineteen hundred. So there's about nine different

(07:28):
places claiming so there.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
They're possibly the reason why we walk around and stick
it between buns.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Yeah, okay. The point is, I mean it's notable that
you know they've been around a long time and it
really is good if you don't mind standing the line
because it's a little bitty placed, but you got to
go there. Forget the pizza, have a Burger in New
Haven forgetting to say Country ninety two five A Rad
Paisley and Walka Hayes coming to the Beautiful Heart for
Healthcare Amphitheater. We would like to send you for free.

(07:55):
You're doing something over there. I'm adjusting real lean in
and tell me a secret. No, no, I was adjusting.
We'll go ahead.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Backer.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
What famous hamburger was first called the Aristocrat? Hmm? If
you heard our fascinating facts earlier, I gave you the answer.
Oh and I wasn't paying attention.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
All I can picture now is like the dancing cats
from the Arista Cats Disney.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
What famous hamburger was first called the Arista? Crack Country
ninety two five? Happy Wednesday? Who's this? Lisa Ho Lucky Lisa,
Let's get you these Brad Paisley tickets. Apparently, this famous
hamburger was first called the Aristocrat for those tickets, Young lady,

(08:42):
what famous burger Big Max. I mean, that was an
easy one. I actually gave you the answer that earlier,
but you know, not to the spell the fact that
you got to write, young lady. And now when Brad
Paisley and Walker Hayes come to the Heart for Healthcare Amphitheater,
you and a friend or family member, it will be
there for free July eighteenth. There you go, Oh, thank you,

(09:04):
you are welcome. Happy Hamburger Day, Happy hump Day, and
we'll be right back. Originally called the Aristocrat, then they
called it the Blue Ribbonberger, and finally it became the
Big Mac, which went on sale in nineteen sixty eight
for the amazingly low price of forty nine cents. Now
it is damn near six bucks. Ooh that hurts. Hey.

(09:28):
Guess who's coming up? I said, who's.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Jason al Dean? Part one of my chat. Let's just
say where's the beer?

Speaker 1 (09:36):
And Kelly Clarkson in celebration of the fact he's playing
Fenway on Friday. Coming up next here on the Country
ninety two five Morning Show. It's the Country ninety two
five Morning Show. And speaking of shows, this Friday, Fenway
Park holy moly, and you talk to him, Jason al
Dean coming back.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
You know, he was the first country artist to headline
the park back in July of twenty thirteen. So caught
up with him yesterday and we started off by trading
our memories of that first show.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
It just for me being a sports guy, I mean,
there was nothing cooler than that, and the fact that
we're the first country concert to ever come in there
was amazing. I think we broke the beer sales record
for the stadium the first night we played, which was awesome.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Going back to the beer, they were not ready for
country fans. They were not ready for Jason al Dean
country fans, because they actually sold out of beer on
the first show night.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
So I remember.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
First off, what I remember is getting tickets initially behind
home plate because never having been to a show at
Fenway before, you just feel.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Like that's the good seat exactly. So I was like,
this is great. So I'm sitting back there and.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
I'm like, eh, I'm like the farthest from the stage
to the point where when Kelly Clarkson came out to
do the song with you, I literally thought she was
there until I talked to my sister who went the
next night, and she's like, you idiot, it was a hologram.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
I remember. I remember that guy pretty good. And if
you weren't sitting in the first couple of few rows
like you didn't, it was hard to tell because that
one was really well done.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
You were one of the first people that actually did
the whole hologram thing on a stage.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
Like.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Thinking back, I'm like, wow, yeah, it.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Was kind of a new, newer thing. We had a
screen that would just lift up while the stage was dark,
and people didn't see it lift up. And then all
of a sudden she was just standing there singing.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Jason Aldan talking with our own Amanda joke.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
That part of our chat is up on our instag
Country ninety two five, but I'll bring you part two tomorrow,
Run seven twenty joke.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Come. That means we need a prize from testa grace.
We was doing your homework. What is the prize?

Speaker 4 (11:44):
A family four pack? Take O?

Speaker 1 (11:46):
She's stampee.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Today's National Hamburger Day.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
All right, give what you mean?

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Why should you never buy a hamburger in Assens? Why
should hamburger in Athens?

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Figure out? Why did she never buy a hamburger in
Athens and you're going to the Ghost Stampede for free. Wow,
she clapped her hands. I think she's actually got it
this one. It's not the hardest to figure out. You're
a smart cookie. That's close enough. And again I say
this every time. If Amanda joking kid it, anybody can, Mike, Mike,

(12:25):
not only do you have a chance to win a
four pack to the Goshen Stampede, you can provide everybody
with an overseas dining tip if you can just give
me the punchline to this joke, which Amanda Joe figured out.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
Mike, why should you never buy a hamburger in Athens?

Speaker 3 (12:41):
You wouldn't buy a burger in Athens because it'd be
too greasy?

Speaker 1 (12:46):
What day is it National hamber Today?

Speaker 4 (12:48):
I feel bad for cows today, me too.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Why should you never buy a hamburger in Athens?

Speaker 4 (12:55):
It's too greasy?

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Nay,
