Time for Hey Jay in the morning, quickie on ninety
a rock brought.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
All right, you're gonna get those scattered afternoon showers, but
it's gonna dry up a little bit for the next
couple of days. Ramping back up again on Sunday with
your chances to rain. I have ninety three. It's gonna
be blazing out there, a Jay.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
Hey, good morning, and of course, uh, good morning to
producer ex Speaking of blazing, who's joining us from Bucks
training camp?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
We sweating right now. The team's on the field and
there are two people I can notice off the bat.
It's Desmond Watson and it's Dion Junior. No, I'm kidding, Shiloh.
He looks exactly like Dion. He looks exactly like him.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
It's so weird.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
We got more on that in just a bit, but first,
you know, it's it's been a rough week. There have
been so many passings in the world, and of course
quite a few notable celebrities, ones that have captivated so
many generations, and we're all learning of them within days
of each other. First of Malcolm Jamunt Warner and and
Ozzie And now yesterday it was announced that not only
(01:04):
did Chuck Mangioni pass away, yeah, but we also lost
local and wrestling legend Hull Cogin. Now if you haven't
heard how apparently medical personnel were sent to his home
in Clearwater yesterday morning to treat cardiac arrest.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
He was then transported to Morton.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at eleven seventeen
after they had spent over an hour attempting to revive him. Now,
no fall play is suspected. He had been you know,
recently under you overcoming. He had what neck surgery in
May and some other you know, complications which there are
rumors that he wasn't doing so well, but his wife
Sky said no, he's fine, but sadly, unfortunately this happened yesterday,
(01:45):
which he did grow up in Tampa, born in Georgia,
grew up in Tampa, attended Robinson High School and was
you know, the biggest star in the history of professional
wrestling and was instrumental in making it the multi billion
dollar industry it is today.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Here so many stories about how the Briscos Brisco brothers
had been watching him in his band at the time
and said, this guy's got some size. Maybe we should
get him, you know, introduce him to some people. And
apparently that's how the whole thing get started. You know,
there's all sorts of stories, but I've been hearing that
one over and over again. Which can you imagine the
Brisco Brothers seeing this big old eye in the band
(02:21):
going he's playing bass, and he going, you know what, Yeah, it'll.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Just be great here in your guys' stories too.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Of course, being such a local, you know, you know,
beloved local, you guys have had some incredible moments with him,
and we love to keep hearing those, so feel free
to drop them or calls here in Studio eight hundred
and seventy three seven Double oh ninety eight, which you know,
at the time of his death, who's actually working with
the former wrestling promoter Eric Bischoff on a new wrestling
outfit called Real American Freestyle. And within the past week
(02:48):
I started seeing some posts on social media. Maybe you
did too, because they are going to be hosting their
first event on August thirtieth, okay, which is speaking of
events and moments, she got one right there, Chrash.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
I was digging this up because you know, we talked
about the Hulkster's greatest moments.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
I remember this. I believe this was.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
I believe this was WrestleMania three, if I'm not mistaken,
nineteen eighty seven. But he was talking about how he
was facing Andre the Giant and the first run through
when he was supposed to be he was supposed to
body slam you know, Andre the Giant early and there
was he realized how heavy, at five hundred and twenty pounds,
how heavy he actually was during this thing.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
I remember him coming at me. He's just coming up.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Swum what I don't know what to do it step
thy ut him right here?
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Dam so the second run at it, this is what
it sounded like, you know, live in front of everybody,
ninety thousand people, all right, you this professional life pleading
we put out.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
Look at this.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Don't believe it.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
Believe that.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Come up.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
They were such good friends too. Think about it.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
You know, it's crazy if you weren't under wrestling, you
know he was into he was just an entertainment into
you know, a huge and entertainment industry period. You know,
he was what Thunderlips and Rocky three, and of course
he also followed in Ozzie's footsteps, him and his family
entering their own reality TV show with Hogan Knows Best,
which maybe he became familiar with that what was it
two thousand and five to two thousand and seven, It
(04:24):
ran on VH one.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Yeah, yeah, I was. I was a weekly subscriber to
that one.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Isn't it crazy that similarities and parallels between Ozzy and
Hulk Hogan when it comes to their whole life and
their timelines and what they did. Just it's kind of
crazy that we lost all these guys in one week.
So yeah, all right, Pea.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Which, by the way, you know yesterday Hogan's beat shop
in Clearwater became, you know, a memorial site, which they
did close. You know, they're closed following the news of
his passing. Not sure if they're still going to be
closed today, but wasn't stopping fans from stopping by to
patribute anyway they could, which, sadly, we do have two
more celebrity deaths to announce. George Koyman's co founder, guitarist
(05:05):
and songwriter of Golden ear ring seventy seven from complications
of als which he was diagnosed with that in twenty
twenty and also the last surviving cast member of Hogan's
Heroes has died. Kenneth Washington Gee which he joined the
cast in the final season is Sergeant Baker, but he
(05:25):
also appeared in Star Trek, I Dream of Genie, My
Three Sons, petticoat junc, Paunch of stuff.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Right.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, so it's crazy how this you know, I said
three is this time? It happens in clumps almost when
these celebrities die and these notable people.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
It's just can't explain it, don't want to.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
But we just say the thoughts and prayers going out
to the friends and family of Haul Cogan. Everybody you
know in the Bay Area you might have known him
by Terry. I mean, there's there's so much connect He
stayed in this area, loved the Bay Area so well,
thanks for the memories, Haltzer and all right.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Which, hey, I don't know if you heard, but the
US Treasury Department is just starting accepting it VENMO payments
through pay dot gov, so every day, real Americans can
voluntarily contribute money to reduce the national debt. I think
the first Sam and You get to pay off it
(06:22):
wants to be the first in line.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Producer ex. You want to be the first in line.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
To I'll throw them one penny.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Oh that's generous. There.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
Here's what's wild, though, this isn't the first time that
they've been doing this. I mean it is through VENMOL,
but they've actually been doing this for quite some time
through other accounts.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
In fact, the Treasury received more than two point seven.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Million in gifts in twenty twenty four and about a
million in twenty twenty three. They say in the first
five months of this year, the department brought in four
hundred and thirty four thousand and five hundred dollars, which
doesn't even come close to a little minus skill drop
in the bucket, as the national debt currently around thirty
six point seven.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
I'm just saying, I keep my bank books, I do
my own check work, all right.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
I'm saying I got a Venmo too.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
Listen, I too, But I can't say it's going there, sorry, Mark.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
I got my own bills to pay, which they say
every American would have to, uh, what is it send
at least one hundred and seven at five hundred thousand dollars.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
To try and square up the deck.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Okay, good luck with that.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Good luck yea, and picture this all right. You're at
a kid's birthday party. Music's blasting, the kids are dancing,
and outcomes Chuck E Cheese himself at Chuck E.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Cheese, Hey, Tucky's here.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
When all of a sudden, the police roll up right
into the party, walk in straight faced. You got parents confused.
Kids are frozen mid slices. They're surrounding Chuck E Cheese
when all of a sudden they walk right up to
the legend himself, Chucky and arrest him.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Everyone for the kids.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
That's what just happened up in te Town, Talahassee.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Yeah, turns forty one year old Jerome Jones was the
guy inside the mouse and had allegedly stolen a debit
card from a customer and ended up going on a
mini shopping spree and now becoming our runner up of
Florida or not Florida.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
They keep the head on him at least.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
You know what they did, But apparently he resisted arrest
as he was dressed as Chucky, locking his arms. His
officers tried to cuff them, so they had to take
him down and ended up removing the mouse.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Right in front. That's even worse right.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
There, traumatic now they know the mouse is not real
on top of this whole thing.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
So there you go. What's next.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Sample They left the other part of the costume on,
They just took the head off.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
All right, that's a lot right there.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
You guys want to comment any of this stuff, You
