Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thank you, ma'am. I'm dying for in the morning. Quirkie
on naeti a rock brought to you by Barjo for
It's gonna beautiful weekend. Out this weekend, Aja copy paste,
repeat today Tomorrow, Sunday, Monday, high eighty seven sunshine, clear skies.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Gotta love that, Yeah. I also gotta love the fact
that we haven't had to deal with any storms this year.
Hell yeah, first time in a long time we haven't
gone through the stress of all that stuff. Hopefully it'll
remain that way, although, just giving you a heads up,
A new tropical wave is being monitored as it crosses
the main development region. It is expected to enter the
Caribbean Sea early next week, but they're only giving about
(00:39):
a twenty percent chance of development meant right now, but
they say conditions could be more favorable next week. We'll see.
They do have a week to monitor it. And if
anything were to happen with it, Melissa would be the
next name. That's what it would get. So we're down
to m yep Melissa. Hopefully it'll be sweep ah and
(01:02):
be sweeten. Leave everybody alone. Meanwhile, sad news yesterday, very devastating.
His kiss legend. Ace freely passed at the age of
seventy four. In case you missed it, he had been
hospitalized with the brain bleed after suffering a fall a
few weeks ago. His family took him off life support
last night, and he had a lot of family and
(01:23):
friends that were surrounding him, including original Kiss drummer Peter
Chris and his wife Oh Wow. They were with him
at the end which Ace was the lead guitarist, also
known as Spaceman, from its inception in nineteen seventy three
to his departure in nineteen eighty two, then again in
the nineties for an episode of MTV and plugged and
a big reunion tour that lasted until two thousand and two.
(01:46):
He wasn't in that final and there you know and
their final ones within what twenty twenty one, two twenty
twenty three.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
When we saw him over at Welcome to Rockville handful
years ago, he was not there and.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Paul yep yepy had what Tommy there was on lead guitar,
but Kiss, you know he did write. Ace did write
quite a few Kiss songs, including cole Gin Parasite, talk
to Me and shock Me by Far. I'm sure locally,
everybody's got some memories, maybe this one if you've happened
to have been there. One of the most insane moments
(02:17):
had to be December twelfth, nineteen seventy six, when Kiss
was performing at the Lakeland Civic Center. Ace ended up
grabbing a metal railing on the stage, and unbeknownst to him,
it was improperly grounded. Yeah, and with his guitar part
of the circus, yep, he got electrocuted it sparks flew
his hand locked onto the rail, and he fell violently
(02:39):
to the stage below. When he finally worked his way loose.
They say the fall itself was bad enough, but you know,
after a break he came back to the stage and
cranked out the rest of the show. What a champ
right there, which you know. Even though Ace was often
at odds with Paul and Jean for not letting him
back in the band, they did both release his statement
on his passing, saying quote, we are devastated by the
(03:02):
passing of base freely. He was an essential and irreplaceable
rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters
of the band and its history. He is and will
always be a part of Kisses legacy. Our thoughts are
with all those who left him, including our fans all
around the world.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
End quote sad day. Yeah, I'm gonna ask if the
other two made it, but they were not friends at
the end.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
There one, thanks for sure. Governor DeSantis says that some
relief is on the way for some traffic congestion projects
across Florida, one of them I for Expansion. He says,
I am pleased to be able to announce this I
for Expansion that we're going to be able to incorporate
with the Moving Florida Florida initiative. Basically, we're gonna get
(03:47):
seventeen miles of new lanes in Hillsborough County from I
seventy five to County Line Road. Now. They also said
that a new trucking truck parking facility is going to
be a part of this project too along the I
four corridor in Polk County, as well as a groundbreaking
on the nation's first infrastructure for Advanced Air Mobility AM
(04:11):
now granted federal government approval still needs to happen. They
expect that sometime next year, and originally this project was
supposed to start in like what twenty thirty seven or
twenty something like that, a long time, but they said
that they're now trying to fast track it. It's been
officially programmed within f dot's Project Pipeline, and construction is
expected to begin in twenty twenty eight. So not ninety
(04:34):
times soon. We're still gonna have to wait several years,
but sooner than later.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
I'm excited for this advanced air mobility with the AA
that's like the air taxis and like you know, Amazon
drones and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
And yeah, yeah, that'll be interesting. I mean, obviously we
still have a hard time with cars on the ground
right now.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Maybe that's how it's like, you know what, we're going up,
It's going to go up now.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Oh and this conference is taking a very blunt approach
to trading. Police in Ocean City, Maryland put out a
call for volunteers to smoke weed in front of them.
Guess what happened next?
Speaker 1 (05:12):
People did it?
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Uh? Did they ever? They got so many responses, like
within hours they had to shut the registration down because
people were coming out of the woodwork to volunteer. Hell yeah,
all right, why what's going on with this? Well? It
gives student officers a chance to observe real time cannabis
impairments so that way they can easily recognize it when
(05:35):
they hit the streets on their own.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Which they did about twenty minutes later, and saw all
those people driving home.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Talk about a higher callage.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
They're like, we got to quoted ahead, all right, thought
we gotta do this today. Let's get the let's get
the stoners.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
