Speaker 1 (00:04):
For in the morning quickie on NAETI a rock brought
to you.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
By Barjo Ford.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Right, weatherwise, what we got here looks like a little
drier than it's been over the past few days. Obviously,
but it looks like best chance of rain coming up
right around four o'clock scattered showers. Otherwise dryer is gonna
get a little bit more moist of the weekend. They're
pretty direct. But down Sarasota is a big story right now.
Yeaes Sarasota is.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
They're good on water for a minute, especially in one
was it Bahia Vista and Laurel Meadows neighborhoods that are
kind of new constructions down in the area.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Uh, they're underfeet plural of water.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
Uh. Still days later, after all the water is subsided.
It's not moving anywhere. It's just kind of stuck. So
they're calling for an investigation. I say they it's Jeffrey
Schmmerhorn if I could.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
He's one of the homeowners that was he's throwing a
red flag.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Doesn't have flood insurance.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Most of those houses don't in those neighborhoods because they're
not in the flood zone. So it's not something that
you say, hey, you have to have it. Should you
have it just in case?
Speaker 3 (01:10):
I'm sure developers that yeah, area and then water management
in general exactly and divert and distribute water around that area.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Right, And one one of the state senators is calling
for an investigation to say, hey, why is this not
Where's is there supposed to be a pump that's distributing
this water out of here? We need to figure out
because it's not just from the rain. I mean, it's
from rain, but it's also you know, it's got to
be taken care. So we're gonna watch that one as
it develops. And we're also obviously praying for our friends
(01:42):
down in Sarasota to get through all that.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I mean, some of the costs that make costs as
much as the house to get that stuff fixed.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Out of these people are gonna be you know, out
of pocket for this stuff, and it's going to be
thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars, all right, And
speaking of a lot of money, we can take a
jaunt up Hills County where the commissioners are now voting
to appeal the judge's decision about that teacher pay referendum
based on your property taxes that they're trying to get on.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
The ballot for this year. It's struck down.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Now the county commissioners are saying, we are going to
give that another go, So they're appealing the judge's decision
in the next couple of days.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
I want to say to him and do that.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
I'm looking at this and I hope I understand this correctly,
but it seems like it's like something that mounts, like
a six thousand dollars raise, and so you would pay
if you're a teacher and it's coming out of your
property tax if you own a home.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Isn't that like a wash?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Isn't that like, all right, I'm a teacher, I'm gonna
pay more property tax so I get a raise.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah, that does sound kind of weird when you put
it like that. It's weird.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
One of the county commissioners says, we're going to do
everything we can to ensure the referendum is on the
ballot November this year. So we're disappointed that the county
commissioner wants to continue this, but it's kind of I
think they need to maybe take it back to the
drawing board and make sure.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Six thousand bucks. I think more than that too, definitely.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
They just need to put a hard costs in the budget.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Figure it out, man, Just figure.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
It out that way.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Not politician, no exactly.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
We're just kind of watching it all unfolding. You know,
got to watch out for her own property taxes over here.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
So h Taylor Swift.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
We all know Taylor Swift is, you know, the biggest
superstar on the planet and one of her she said
a while back, one of her biggest fears is having,
you know, an incident happen at one.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Of her concerts.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Obviously, they're so huge everybody goes, and a lot of
people are now traveling over to Europe to see these
shows as well because it's cheaper to do the whole
trip over there. She had three shows in Austria get
canceled near the Vienna area after a terror threat was
actually unearthed, uncovered that they were going to do something,
(03:49):
do something. At one of these shows. Two guys were arrested,
I guess in connection with isis and one kid was
nineteen years old. Another guy was with bomb making materials living.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
In his parents' house.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Is his life to isis?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah, exactly, at nineteen. So but they caught him.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
And I actually heard a hysterical joke from our news
talk station.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Mister Ryan Gorman in the back corner over there was.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Talking about you don't mess like ISIS is scared of
the American government whatever.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
You don't mess with the Swiftest Okay, don't mess with
that army.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
You want to start getting your organization torn apart. Mess
with swift.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Comes down exactly, yeah, exactly, tore down. We can never
be back together. And then then it's over.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
A Swifty from the inside of ISIS tears the hell
operation down.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
That's how it ends.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Y m I six of the Swifties whatever.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
But everybody got hurt, nobody got hurt.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Everything was take care of. They didn't have to cancel
all three of those shows. So all right, there's that.
And speaking of canceled shows, Jack Black, we all you know,
remember after a former president Trump was almost assassinated, his
partner in crime, mister Kyle Gass said that very unfortunate
birthday joke on stage.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
But he's spoken.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Jack Black said this about Tenacious D.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
It was an interview actually when he was talking about
a new movie was in but they asked about it.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
We had to take a break, but I love the
D and everybody takes a break sometime.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
That's right, he'll be back.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
You think, yeah, we'll be back.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
So they're actually going to be back. Then he did
not say this is forever thing. Let it cool down
a little bit, then the D will be back.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
I mean, you can't get ready, you can't get rid
of the D. And they got to pick a destiny man.
So it's like, I mean, it's destiny. They're gonna be back.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yet moment in time.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Slap him in the face one time and say, don't
make it political, bro, and then you move on.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
And then we've got this. We got our socials right
now kicking. This has been a fun topic today. What
would you like to bring back? What should come back?
And style?
Speaker 2 (05:50):
No wrong answers. We said that.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Because it wouldn't do long ago that lembiscuit was out
of style. I mean last night they absolutely from all accounts,
crushed it right there at the end. Man.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
Yeah, it was it was quite the show yesterday. So yeah,
what needs to come back? The answers are flying in
parachute pants.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
You should get parachute pants a look.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Yeah, grocery prices from the nineteen nineties.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
One guy said, Jack.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Fredy original formula because he misses the tea or whatever
it is. But these are just, I mean affordable. Affordable
seems to be the answer everything from the eighties. One
guy said, rubbers condoms.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
They need to come back. It's comical at this point,
all right, go throw it in.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
There's even a Facebook fight. There s fuzzer fun.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Yeah, there's a little bit of Facebook fight between which
decade had.
