Speaker 1 (00:00):
Please, he's deeper in the din with dangerous d well.
If you're rating yourself, how would you grade your trustworthiness, honesty, empathy, creativity, patience,
artistic ability, dancing ability, or your ability to cook with
aull a microwave. In a comprehensive you gub poll, they
found seventy percent of Americans believe they're above average and

(00:21):
far above average in trustworthiness, loyalty, or honesty. More than
sixty percent believe they're average in ethnics, reading, ability, empathy,
open mindedness, attention to detail, and sense of humor. Women
are more likely to believe they're better at all of
those things. Except for sense of humor. Sixty seven percent
of guys think they're above average, compared to just fifty

(00:44):
three percent of women. The biggest swing in the other
direction was empathy. Not surprising, sixty nine percent of women
think they're more empathetic than the average person, compared to
just fifty six percent of men. Now, on the flip side,
only fifteen percent of Americans say they're above average and
running sixteen percent in dancing ability. Technically, to be above average,

(01:06):
you don't have to be great, just have to be
better than half the population, So we're underrating our running
and dancing ability. Apparently half of us have got to
be above average. Overrated are trustworthiness and honesty too. Less
than thirty percent of Americans believe they're above average and
musical ability, singing, athletic ability, physical strength, artistic ability, sexual ability, attractiveness,

(01:29):
and sense of style. Three quarters of Americans say they
have high expectations for themselves. Women are more likely than
men to say it's difficult to accept compliments. Adults under
forty five more likely than older Americans to say their
parents praised them often, and Americans who were praised often
as children find it easier to accept compliments as adults,

(01:49):
which absolutely makes sense. I don't know about these. I
know it could probably be more empathetic. I like to
think that I'm trustworthy and loyal and all of that.
I know one thing for sure, I'm much higher than
average when it comes to reading and talking about polls
deeper in the two. Well, it's Monday, and if you
feel a little sluggish, this could be your ticket. Today

(02:11):
is National Lead Work Early Day, so I have a
list of some sheerfire excuses to get out early. This
is thanks to the Internet, including a family emergency works
ninety nine point nine percent of the time, as long
as you're okay with some bad juju about lies about
something like this. Diarrhea should work most of the time
as well, but it's embarrassing if it goes around the office.

(02:32):
Sicker headache, more general illness issues a little easier to float. Unfortunately,
you might not have the same instant response as explosive bowels.
Woman issues surely easier if you're a woman. I guess
it wouldn't probably work for me, but it could work
if you're a man with a female partner or a daughter. Also,
there's a problem happening at your home, maybe a water leak,

(02:54):
something like that, issue with a pet, religious reasons, forgotten appointments,
some other less surefire ones that you can probably get
some mileage out of unexpected family members, guests at home,
your kids school called kind of tough now that everybody's
out of school. Something personal came up fraut of my
credit card, and I got to deal with it. I'm exhausted.
I soiled my pants, which is kind of same as

(03:15):
the one earlier. Grandparents passed away, which again might get
you some bad karma. There. Silly ones, but you never know.
I have a tea time I need to make. I
walked into my corner of my desk and I suffered
an injury and my stigmata is acting up. Also, I
had an important package delivered at home. I need to
get home and collect it before the porch pirates take it.

(03:37):
These days, that might work to me again. For another
