Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is deeper in the den with Dangerous Day. You know,
there's nothing wrong with being proud of your hard work
and accomplishments. It also can be good to own up
to your own deficiencies, but there's a fine line throughout.
They ask the Internet, what are the dumbest things people
take pride in? Some of the best responses that come
from Reddit when people are proud that they don't read
or haven't read a book since high school, not knowing

(00:22):
how to use tech or computers or even learning the basics,
working themselves to death and not taking time for themselves,
not sleeping enough, being unhealthy. Other dumb things that people
take pride in being so busy or being so lazy,
drinking and smoking a lot, drinking and driving, not changing
their own kids' diapers, never cooking because they're not good
at it, the number of followers they have on social media.

(00:44):
Being brutally honest, especially I guess when you're the brutal
part is the part you're really proud of being right,
especially when they're wrong. The performance of sports teams. The
lawn made the list on here, which to me is
kind of silly because at the same time you can
be proud about you lawn, but it takes a lot
of hard work to get it to look good. Also
another silly thing or dumb thing people take pride in

(01:06):
their body count or any other aspect of their sex life.
M I guess maybe it's stupid that I'm proud of
the fact that I get up at quarter after three
in the morning every morning. No wonder I fall asleep
at four o'clock watching the news. Deeper in the two, well,
do you have many friends at work allow into your
personal life your inner circles, so to speak? Or do
you intentionally avoid work social events because you don't want

(01:28):
to be around your co workers more than you have to.
In a survey, fifty nine percent of workers say they
couldn't get through the day without having friends at work.
Forty nine percent of people who are currently working and
looking for a new job are worried they're not going
to be able to make friends at their new workplace.
Younger adults more likely to say work friendships are more
important to them. That drops as you get older, with

(01:48):
seniors carrying the least. Survey asks job seekers the benefits
of having a bestI at work include improve mental health,
improve productivity, increased desire to stay with the company long term,
increase morale, reduce burnout, less desire to quit and leave
the company, Fewer interpersonal conflicts at work, better opinions of
the company culture, and better opinions of the company in general. Naturally,

(02:10):
bosses want their employees to have good relationships with co workers.
In ninety seven percent of hiring managers agree that there
are benefits to employees forming friendships at work. It's good
to have friends at work, but it seems like the
larger the place you work, there's like different groups. Once again,
it becomes like high school. There are certain clicks, and
there's a whole you know, mean girls type persona and

(02:31):
some of the workplaces. So you gotta be careful having
friends at work. I have friends at work. Most of
them are still in my head. To me. They came
