Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is deeper in the den with dangerous day. So
are you somebody that cherishes the experience of going out
to your mailbox and seeing what credit card offers you
have receive today? Or would you be okay with replacing
your mailbox with a trash can. In a poll, five
percent of people said that on average, they want or
need all of the physical mail they receive. Thirteen percent
(00:23):
said most of it's good, another thirteen percent said it's
about half of it. Fifty one percent said they could
care less about half the mail that they get every day.
Nine percent claim they don't need any of it. A
demographic most likely to not want their mail is older
Midwestern women, and I thought that would be the exact opposite.
On average, most people say they get one to five
(00:44):
pieces of mail per day. Eight percent said they get
more than that. Twenty nine percent say they have taken
steps to reduce the physical mail that they get. Sixty
two percent haven't bothered with that at all. You know,
a lot of places will give you a discount or
like a small credit if you go pay less, and
I'll do that. I'm fine with that. Killing less trees
is okay, but still I like to get mail. I
(01:05):
know there's sometimes I'll be waiting on certain things in
the mail, like that penpal letter from my buddy in Japan.
Deeper in the two, Well, March madness is underway. Did
you fill out your bracket? Well, one in six Americans
planned to this year. And it's a lot easier if
you know nothing about basketball, apparently. A poll follow the
top strategies and filling out brackets include hunches, vibes, or
(01:26):
just whatever your friends think. Eighteen percent of Americans think
they follow basketball closely enough that they can make good picks.
Another sixteen percent have limited knowledge, so together, that's about
a third. Everybody else is just winging it. Twenty three
percent said their top strategy is asking friends for help,
fourteen percent will use winners based on hunches, and twenty
two percent whatever vibes they're feeling that day. About one
(01:47):
in ten said they sometimes make picks based on their
team's mascot. So thirty one percent of Americans said they
follow the tournament this year. Fourteen percent follow the men's games,
three percent the women's games, and fourteen percent will follow both.
So good luck. I don't fill out a bracket because
if I just rearrange a couple letters, I take bracket
to break it and no time. Tuning again for another
(02:08):
episode of Deeper in the Den with dangerous Dave Bright.
