Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is deeper in the den with dangerous day. You
know some couples basically seem like the same person, while
others make you wonder how they even found each other.
In a new survey, twenty six percent of people in
a relationship say that they and their partner are polar opposites.
In general, seventy three percent of people believe that opposites
do attract. This is usually for stuff like extroverted versus introverted,

(00:23):
or planner versus somebody who's spontaneous, creative thinker versus somebody
who's nuts and bolts, or two people who are completely
in different jobs and hobbies. It can work for couples
or each side enjoys staying in their own lane and
leaning on their partner on things that are outside their
own strengths. Their partner introduces them to new things, but
most people don't set out looking for a companion that

(00:45):
has no interests in what they like. In the survey,
people say that on average, two people share about fifty
four percent and similarities. In order for a relationship to
be successful, most important things are core values, family and
future goals, and relationship bound The least important things career goals,
fitness and health and hobbies, and naturally, longer people are together,

(01:06):
the more they do come to the middle. More than
half of people in the survey said they do share
similarities more now than they did before, more similarities than differences.
I guess that's compared to when they first met. You know,
my wife and I we have a lot of very
similar interests and hobbies and likes and goals and thoughts,
and then there's things that are totally opposite, like the

(01:28):
fact of the matter, she's smart. Deeper in the two,
are you addicted to your phone? If you said yes,
you're not alone. A lot of people are. Seems like
kids are really bad. You can't see kids even walking
down the street without them looking at their phone as
they walk down the street. We all seem a bit
reliant on phones these days. And if you need somehow
breaking your phone addiction, here's a couple of tips for you.

(01:50):
First of all, treat it like a landline. It's a
trend on TikTok right now. Pick a spot in your
house where you leave your phone, and then that's where
you put it when you get home. That way, you're
less likely to carry it around looking at it every
few minutes. Try batching rather than texts and emails and
social media all day. Set a few specific times where
you check your emails, check them all at once, like

(02:11):
fifteen minutes in the morning, maybe twenty minutes around lunch,
and forty five minutes in the evening. Use a computer
to scroll. If you have a job that requires some
sort of social media monitoring and engagement, using an old
fashioned computer browser instead of your phone will break the
habit of using your phone all the time. Delete your
super addictive apps. Social media game apps are designed to
hook you. Keep the worst defenders off your phone, and

(02:33):
go phone free on Saturday or Sunday. It's a fun
challenge for the weekend. Pick one day where you completely
go phone free. Doesn't mean you can't bring it with
you if you leave the house, but try to use
it only in case of an emergency. Couple different ways
you can break your habit from using your phone. I'll
tell you more, but I have to check my phone
to They can. For another episode of Deeper in the
Den with Dangerous daved right here.
