Speaker 1 (00:00):
He's deeper in the den with dangerous day. Well, it
seems like plant based diets are getting more and more
popular every year, and being a vegan or vegetarian isn't
always that exclusive status. A new poll of vegetarians and vegans,
thirty eight percent admit they cheat with meats meals. Vegetarians
still eat dairy and eggs, more likely to admit it

(00:23):
than vegans, who avoid pretty much all animal products. It
isn't just a one time thing either. Forty seven percent
said those on plant based diets rarely eat meat maybe
once or twice a year, but thirty eight percent will
do it occasionally, so every few months. Ten percent said often,
like once a month, and five percent said very often,
which is like once a week or more. And thirty

(00:45):
three percent of those admit they keep their meat indulgences
a secret. I knew a guy that worked here, probably
know who it was. He said he was vegan. He
was not. Quite often. In one of the station vehicles,
you could see a box of chicken bones. You'd take
the vehicle and go buy some broasted chicken at one
of the grocery stars and then eat it in the vehicle.
Number one, if you're eating meat very often, you're probably

(01:07):
canny and identify as vegetarian or vegan by the way,
you're just health conscious or a picky eater meat, meat
and moderation. And the survey was conducted by a beef
company called Linz Heritage Angus, so they could be totally
unbiased or biased as the case maybe vegan and vegetarian
meat craving report. So I couldn't do it. I really couldn't.

(01:27):
The close I get to a vegetarian diet is I
know most of the beef I eat, they eat grass
deeper in the well. If you're driving in the snow,
maybe you did over the weekend, you might be again
coming up in the next week or two. Now's a
great time to get yourself prepped for a possible emergency.
According to the experts, winter essentials you can really make
a difference if you ever get stuck out in the

(01:48):
winter storm. Here's a question, do you have these items
in your car right now? Jumper cables, flares, are reflective triangles,
ice scrapers, phone chargers, flashlights, water and snacks, heated blankets.
That's the one to plug into it like a twelve
volt charger. Body and handwarmers, toe straps and traction mats
or kitty litter or sand ready. Dot gov has more
on an exhaustive lift of stuff you should have, or

(02:11):
you want to take the easy route, just search for
a roadside emergency car kit. They make an all in
one kit and you can just throw in your car
if he needs stuff. So we know that up here
we know we should have an emergency kit, but quite
often we don't do it. Probably should, though. The good
thing is about winter up here only lasts like eight
or nine months too many. Kid for another episode of
