(00:00):
Welcome to Don't drop the tongs. It's March twelfth. As we did this
week's episode. We did not dolast week. I got crazy busy.
I could not do this and Ioffered you, yo, yo, did
you did your tailor swift picture justfall off the wall? You had to
go look another one? Just fellowall your tailor No, no, no
barrow. Those are all Sugar Shane'spictures up on the wall. Sugar Shade,

(00:27):
ain't no disrespect. I'm just stillsaying Shane Sean. Yeah. So,
yeah, we didn't do an episodelast week. I got busy with
life and everything else. And Iknow Kyle had craziness. We'll talk about
that, but let's get started herewith the big thing that's happened since our
last episode. Kyle has opened officiallyBirds and Bones bro in Florence, Arizona.

(00:54):
I have yet to make it outthere. Yeah, thanks for me
both of you showing up. Well, here's the deal I thought about on
the very first week last weekend.I could not go on the very first
weekend. Judging by your Instagram,I don't think you needed any more people
there. And kudos to you allthe flowers. I mean you gotta tell

(01:14):
us about it, and it soundslike the opening was ridiculous with a bazillion
in one people. Bro huge tellus about it. So, okay,
so I've been well, naturally,I've been kind of training the staff right
about you know, the menu andthis and that. We kind of did
the deal and then we had likea big meeting and did you did you

(01:36):
host the meeting? I did hostthe meeting. I had Koffini there.
So Koffeini is HR. I'm thecook bro, I cook, I train,
I do all that. I don'twant anything to do. This relationship
is perfect and we'll get into thisbecause he is the paperwork guy, the

(01:56):
orders, the bs, all thatjunk. I want zero to do.
I just want to cook. That'sall I want to do. Okay.
So that's where Kuffeini pops in andhe does all that. So he's also
HR because I have said some choicethings that I probably shouldn't have said,
and we would and he bull speakto the side. It's like you probably
can't say that, but thank god, I have a awesome rock star of

(02:19):
a freaking team. So we havethis meeting, okay, and they're all
like, hey, you know, maybe we should do a soft opening first
and work out some bugs and thisand that. Everyone's like, yeah,
we should do a soft open.I fed them the entire menu and I
looked at him, excuse me,Beryl, I said, fuck, no,
we're opening the doors. And theyall like looked at me like,
okay, smart move, was it? Well? So let's see that night

(02:45):
Thursday night, I got the foodon. I'm just jittering. I'm looking
around like everything's perfect in the kitchen. I'm like, all right, we're
gonna be all right. Just thinkof it like a food truck, like
we're good. Order in order out, order in order out. So I
of course did not sleep at allthat night. I couldn't say. And
I'm sleeping at the freaking restaurant.I got a cot right next to the
damn smoker that I'm you know, because now the smoker is completely filled.

(03:07):
Bro Like, I've never I've cookedon the thing a thousand times. I've
never filled it with like, say, fifty pork buts fifty racks of ribs.
I've never filled it all at once. And I'm thinking, Okay,
things could be different, things couldblah blah blah. I don't know I'm
in my head. I think toomuch. So you know, we we
you know. The next morning comesand we're getting things going. Life's good.

(03:29):
The cooks show up, they're preppingeverything, blah blah blah. I
start seeing people out front, andI'm like, what the fuck? You
know? So I kind of goout there and I'm looking and there's a
line starting to happen. Bro.It's like seven thirty. We don't open
un till ten. So I'm like, okay, so whatever blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah. Now we'reat like nine fifty and I'm freaking out

(03:50):
and I'm going around and I huddlethe team up. I felt like Dak
Prescott, bro, like you know, Dak Prescott gets in the huddle.
I wouldn't. I wouldn't say that. Yeah exactly, yeah, Bro,
I plump everybody. I'm getting everybodyjacked up, right. So how many
you do? Bro? How manyfinals? Let me tell you? So?

(04:11):
Okay, So now it's ten o'clockand it's time to open the door.
So I opened the door. Isee this line, and I have
this line, bro. I hadthis emotional roller coaster going on. Did
you cry first? No. First, I'm like, well, not cried,
like I was like tearing up,like shit, like all these people.
There's people from Kansas City that flewout here just for this. There's
people from all of the like myboys from like high school, like bro

(04:34):
crazy craziness in line. Then therewas a bunch of people that like,
uh like supported me on like Facebook, that I ever really met in person,
that like from Florence and from likeall over. Ok hey, we
never met, but we talk onFacebook or you know, social media all
the time. So I'm freaking out. And then so like a little teary
eyed. Then it's like shit, what did I do? Like did I

(04:57):
screw up? Did I should Ihave quit at my job? Because I'm
like freaking out. So I goup and down the line. I'm slapping
people's hands and there was I countedsixty seven people in line at that time.
Now the restaurant only we only havethirty seven chairs, so all these
look like you have table in theback for it. Oh oh ok So

(05:21):
the day before we're opening, Okay, the day before I get a call
from the city. City calls medown and I have to go to this
meeting. This is uh here, the good, the bad, and the
freaking ugly. City calls me downand they will not give me occupancy for
the patio. And I said, well why, And they pulled out all

(05:44):
these books of different chapters of differentcodes that need to be done. So
I'm looking at I'm trying to read. I can't understand. Gibberis bro I'm
reading this thing. I'm like, okay, well that's done. Everything's done.
And then he pulls out another bookand he's like, well, you're
gonna have to hire an engineer oran architect two have stamp of approval to

(06:09):
sign off on the sign off.But I got you on that, right,
Brody, I got I got,I got architects, engineers, that
a stamp everything you know, Ipulled permit. It's all day for the
Yeah, well we're gonna s whatyou built, all that you built permits.
No, I had all the permits. I had everything, barrel,
I had everything. Everything's ready togo. I got the umbrellas up.

(06:30):
I'm it's ready to go. Ijust need to barrow. But barrel,
that is. I'm me as aproject manager, construction project manager. That's
what I didn't tell you that becauseyou didn't have an architect or engineer to
build that patio. So is itillegally built? No? It was not.
I had I had all my permitsand everything. Who the who pulled
a permit? I think I did? Me or Caraffini. Then we had

(06:55):
to have you have an r oC. That's yes, that's a record
you. Oh so you have acontra. Let me just get it before
you start asking me all this damnquestions. I got permits, I got
a restaurant, But you didn't pulla construction permit to legally build that patio,
Phil, Yes, I did becauseI had to post it because they're

(07:16):
all over me. I had topost it on my back patio. It
had posted what No, yeah, exactly what r o C? You know
what ro O C is? Registeredof contractor whatever? Yes? What number
did you use? Whatever? Theguy's r O C is, Phil,
I don't know. I don't memorizehis number. I don't know. Anyways,

(07:40):
So he's like this, this, and I passed everything. He's like,
well, there's a handrail in theback. He's like, well,
I want hoops put on this handrailso if somebody's in a wheelchair they can
be able to grab these hoops andpull themselves up this ramp. So I
said, okay, so I calledmy no disrespect to the disabled, No,
this is but listen, it's ridiculousof what they make you go through

(08:03):
to do that, because even this, but but but what person disabled is
going to pull theirself up on astair with hoops to go into a barbecue
restaurant right now? They got me, They got me by the balls,
and I couldn't say anything. Soit's like, okay, I'll get that
done. I called my roc.He showed up and I said, look,
I need hoops here. I don'tcare what it looks like. Just

(08:24):
get it done. And he zippedit up. He got He spent all
day getting it done. Boom done, perfect, go back. Now he
wants a time, a physical timeof how long it's going to take each
individual person sitting in those chairs outsidein the patio, how long it's going
to take them to run out ofan emergency gate if there was an emergency.

(08:48):
And I said, okay, wellhold on back to the fire department.
No, this is the city. You got it, Yes, we
do, we do have it.We'll talk offline, Brodie, because that's
not that's not what they do.So and I was like, okay,
are they are they old? Arethey overweight? Are they in shape?
Are they kids? Are they disabled? What am I doing? He's like
the engineer or architect that you hirewill have that and they need to be

(09:11):
stamped and he will have the timeand all that. So I we flipped
out, right, So fine, patios closed, boom, patios close.
Now we go get our We tryto go get our alcohol. Right,
So on our alcohol they spelt outbarbeque instead of BBQ, so the paperwork
didn't match up, and they said, uh, sorry, that's not what

(09:33):
the name says on your liquor license. And I was like, so what
does that mean. He's like, well, you have to reapply. So
now we we had to hire.We got a guy and he's like,
look, all you gotta do isyour fingerprints and do this again. Blah
blah blah blah blah. We'll haveit to you in like two weeks.
So that was the start of theperfect storm, right, So fast forward

(09:54):
to Friday. A question, goahead, why did you wait until day
before to get your liquor? Wellit was like Wednesday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
But why wouldn't you have gotten yourliquor? Like where were you getting
your liquor from? Do you havea distributor in Kingsley or king Hensley?
Hensley? But why didn't you placeyour Hensley ahead of time? Well,

(10:16):
because I was just going to pickit up because I didn't want all this
crazy alcohol. I just wanted Ijust needed Beers. That's it, Beers
Youngstown. You shouldn't have put youthrough that. Hensley will because they do
stadiums and they deliver it. Yeah, they they're strictly by the Lord,
if you correct. I learned yougot a brodie that goes through all of

(10:37):
this, and you didn't even callme. You called me on some pos
book. Okay, so po pieceof shit, right, but you called
me on pos bullshit, But youain't called me on the construction part or
how to get around that pot Mylife and I know you understand this.
My life is one hundred and eighty. I am all over the place of
this. Can't can't Can I havean apology then? Because okay, sorry,

(11:00):
Phil, I'm gonna call you afterthis podcast though, so I'll speed
it up. So mixed emotions openthe door. I'm slapping everybody's hands.
This is Friday, and I'm sojacked up. But then I get this,
Like what did I do? Likeis this? Like? Now I'm
freaking out, Like the food betterbe good. This that I'm freaking out.
So I get to the back and, you know, get with the

(11:20):
cooks. They said, let's whoopsome ass, you know, let's do
it. So we started going diningrooms full and uh, now everybody else
in lines will like, screw this. I'm not I'm not waiting for dining.
I'm going to uh order to ghost. So to ghost came in,
dining came in, and it floodedthe kitchen. I mean we were absolutely

(11:41):
flooded. There goes another Yeah, and the sugar poster fell off the one
so so that just totally clogged thesystem. Man. And it was it
was. It was rough, andso it was good. It was a
good opening. It was the foodwas good. There was a lot of
kinks. Everything that could go wrongwent wrong, but we figured it out.

(12:01):
We got everything going, and Ilearned that I needed more than one
busser. I had one busser onstaff, and he worked his tail off
for sixteen hours bro sixteen hours, and I kept you know, I didn't
think I didn't. You know,it's the little things you don't think of.
I didn't think I needed a secondbusser. I had the I had

(12:22):
the wait staff figured out they wereswitching shifts, and I didn't think I
needed two other cooks. But youknow, I worked those guys for sixteen
hours and then they got a cleanand they're hating me, and I'm just
y know, Look, look, busses, Brodie bussers. You got a
young kid, or you got likean older young guy. You need you

(12:43):
need, You need a rough somebodywho's been through a ringer in life,
and them sixteen hours really mean somethingto them because they will bus do you
have a pushcart? Like he couldthrow everything all right, so yo,
they throw everything, postcard, theyspray everything down. But you can't have
a nonchalant teenager busser because that's yourthat's your replacement, right because you need

(13:09):
to turn stuff fast. So youneed somebody who had like a I'm not
saying a nice characteristic individual. Letme just say this that feels important.
The kid is a rock star, like he stuck it out with me.
He was he was cool, he'she was totally fine, he busted his

(13:30):
busted, but no he did good. Bro. I didn't have to try.
I mean, yo, yo,I'm talking about the busses that'd be
like, oh yeah, just getthere, just get there. So after
that, you know, I apologizeto the whole staff and I was like,
you know, we're sorry, Likeyou know, oh, that was
weak. That was weak. Itwas your decision not to have a soft

(13:54):
open. And what they all suggested, well was like, yo, we
should do a soft and I'm like, screw that. Open the doors,
let's just let it ride. That'sexactly what I'm telling you. You were
the only one that was in denialthat you should have alf opening. But
now when you invite it, andwhen you stalk into your crew, you
said, oh we I'm sorry wedidn't now is we right? When did

(14:18):
Kobeni jump into the Wii? Whenyou said, oh, we have each
other's backs, it is what itis, Okay, we both took it
on the chin and I totally understandthat, and I apologize to everybody,
and you know we we yo.Look look you just bro. It's like
the little things too, you know, and like how anybody like I know
you how you ran a restaurant allby yourself is totally one and I respect

(14:48):
anybody that could do it. It'stotally beyond me, bro, Like that
is major. That's what we're talking. And you know what it is.
It is like you feed like youare right. When you feed in off
your passion right and your dream right, then you you love cooking your Your
biggest thing that day was to giveyour food out to the public and make

(15:11):
people love you know what I mean, want to love it, love it
and you know what I mean, and start this thing. But all of
the other stuff that you mentioned isnot part of your business plan. That
just pops up and it's gonna bea lot more during the first year.
And you just know your Brody's herefor you. Guys. It could be
anything. I guarantee you I wentthrough it, bro. Yeah, you

(15:33):
know, it just blows my mind. Sorry, bro, it's just so
how to go. So it wasfantastic, It was absolutely it was absolutely
could I sold out every day.And see the problem is, you know
when you do like festivals, likeI'm so used to doing festivals on my
food truck, and you don't knowhow much food to honestly bring or honestly

(15:54):
cook because you know, the promotercould say, oh, there's gonna be
thirty thousand there, well maybe athousand show up to your you know,
your food druck or whatever. Yougot a ton of food. So we
don't have the data that says, okay, Fridays are crazy, Saturdays are
okay, Sundays are crazy. Youknow what I'm saying. So we kind
of had to just you know, shoot for the stars and thank you know,

(16:15):
thankfully we sold out every day,but it was you know, it
was fifty racks of ribs every day. It was just we just didn't have
that data. But we're getting betterand it was an absolutely it was amazing.
It was amazing, and I've neverworked so hard in my life.
But it still feels like it stillfeels like I'm on vacation, bro,

(16:36):
Like I never really quit my fulltime John. All Right, See,
I don't even know what I couldsay and can't say. But what now,
you know what I was going tosay? This something pop But welcome
to the restaurant world. Like Iabsolutely love it, like I absolutely love
everything about it, and like everyday you gotta do. There's no days

(16:57):
off. By the way people saythat there is absolutely zero days, none,
none, and your nine to fiveturned to twenty five, twenty seven,
twenty four, twenty four. No, I knew what it was,
Barrel. I'm just letting you knowthere's extra hours that you got to put
on that when you're a restaurant ownerand and and just be glad you got

(17:21):
partners. And you know, I'veseen Pops in there. Tell me what
pops. Pops got busy, Popsgot work, dizzy working, Bro,
Pobs got me working. You know, it's like, you know, my
brother and sister, everybody was there. They're like ready to help, but
like they didn't need to help becausethe staff. You know, I had
everybody. We had the staff foreverything. And it was good. It

(17:41):
was it was freaking good, bro. And it just blows my mind that
I am now doing this. It'sstill it still feels like I got to
go back to work full time Mondaymorning. But you know, like last
Saturday, last weekend was my secondweekend. Things ran smooth, bro,
Things were great. Things were youknow, I mean, we were turning.
I'm talking to the customers. Theyall want to take pictures and this,

(18:02):
and asked me questions about all thepictures on the wall and all kinds
of stuff like that, and soit was I I give anybody props to
that opens the restaurant, and especiallyif you're doing it by yourself, you
are I mean, that's a that'sa salute because I there's no way I
could I could do this without withouthaving cooffeini because I'm not dealing with paperwork.

(18:23):
Bro, I can't do it.I can't do all that. And
then you know, sorry, I'mgoing on a little round here. Saturday,
this past Saturday. So Friday nightwe ran out of food and then
Saturday, you know, so Ipulled an all nighter Friday. I am
way too old for this, bythe way, pulled an all nighter Saturday,
had everything cooked, done, readyto go. Boom. Now I'm

(18:44):
playing, uh, what is that? What is that? Kolbert? You
played all the dishes? I playedeverything. There's a name for it.
And I got a cook. Allmy cooks are awesome, but I have
one that is an absolute rock star, and she throws out all these I
feel come on the Bear, theTV show The Bear. I feel like
I'm in that because they're throwing namesat me and this and that, do

(19:04):
this, do that and I'm like, yes, yeah, yep, on
it, on it. Then Iget the yes, chef, hey,
chef. It was great, andI'm like, I'm not a chef,
I'm a pitmaster. That's it please. But it was brought Anyways. I
could go on about this all damnday. It was fantastic. Everything.
Life's good. So things are betterweek two. Yeah, and what days
are you open to doing? Rightnow? It's only Friday through Sunday right

(19:30):
now, eight or ten to tento eight, and then next week we
are going to do Thursday through Sundayten to eight, and then probably sometime
in April, probably Country Thunder weekend, we are going to do the official
Wednesday through Sunday. And that's it, okay, because it's just there's just
so much prep work here, bro, Like we do everything by hand.
Like we just got done trimming Idon't know, probably fifty fricking briskets,

(19:55):
and we're cutting potatoes, we're boilingnoodles. I mean, we are everything
that's just going to get oh realquick. You're gonna look, you're gonna
start looking for shortcuts. Not sayingno, listen what I'm telling you.
Barrow said it Yo, not sayingthat that has to devalue what you're delivering.
Your quality can still be the same. But you're bad, yo.

(20:18):
Look even the boiling potatoes, right, you know your food distributor. We
ain't even talking about food distributors.Bro Okay, all right, listen,
let me just tell you. Letme cannot just say one thing. They
already got boiled potatoes, but youdon't how much those boil. Let me
tell you something, Phil, untilthe day I die, or until that
whenever, I will not take anythey have dice. They have dice potatoes.

(20:41):
Yes, I know they're already done, but you know how much money
those are? I know? Butguess what when you're selling like twenty five
and fifty pounds of potato salad. You know what I mean? Like,
you know what, I'm gonna justgo ahead and get that. I won't
do it. I won't do it. I'm too hard headed. I see.
I know exactly what you're talking about. Like, I get it.
I am too hard headed. Thequarter that change, did you not?

(21:03):
Okay, let me ask you thatwas not a mistake. Okay, all
right right now it might not be, but maybe later on. All right,
let me ask you this, whatyou just finished saying right, yeah,
would you have one? It issoft opening? Would I have done
it? No? What you knowright now? Would you have one of
a soft opening? You got tojust keep that safe frame of mind.

(21:30):
Help me out real quick. It'sjust bro because I'm still not offering to
Okay, so I have a signoutside on the sidewalk. That's because this
is a major takeout town, whichI'm gonna pick your brain later after this
is I cannot understand how to dotakeout and dining at the same damn time
without losing its quality going into abox. You need that. You need

(21:55):
that Chios. But we talk. No, I'll talk to you. I'll
talk, I'll talk to We'll talkall a lot, We'll talk off link.
Kyle Manakotti. I love you,my brody. Welcome to the game.
I'm glad you got you know, wide open all on your first week.
I was so excited and the onlyreason why your brother wasn't there even
though I was the first person outthe crew to come out there, so

(22:15):
I already been there but before itwas officially open. But here's the deal,
Sonny was sick and no, butbut but yeah, yo. She
was still trying to come because Spinneyhit me and was like, yo,
me and Molly and the kids ison the way. I was like,
yeah, I'm gonna pick up Sonny. I'm on my way too, and

(22:37):
she was like yo, I thoughtshe had a little head cold. And
then she got dressed and got readyand then she started blowing in those I
was like, Yo, we're goingto see family. People gonna be hugging
on you. We can't go upthere like that, even though we excited.
So she was very disappointed about it, but we definitely come in.
And then you know, I hadsome guests this weekend from Australia. We'll
get into that later, but Iwas just so happy, man, of

(23:00):
your accomplishments because yo, once once, okay, once that official, official
feeling happens. Now now now you'regood, Brody, Now you're good.
Just sit back. Understand you're goingto make mistakes, but understand it might
be not even a mistake, somethingyou didn't know. Right now you know

(23:25):
and learn from it because it's allthe process. Because Yo, no,
Lie Brody, they whatever your businessplan is, it's going to have to
be changed to take in what yourcommunity wants. Right, So you you
you gotta go from and we'll talkoff a line on that. At one
time, At one point sometime duringFriday, our opening, our my neighbor

(23:51):
that I share wall with, hewent outside and called the called the News
of the Florence News or some newspapercame out here and they took a picture
of the line. He's like,I've never seen anything like this. There
was at one point there was ahundred people in line to get in just
to I mean, just to comeeat. I mean this whole community though.

(24:11):
I mean, it was. It'sabsolutely mind blowing, Bro. It
was. It's it's it's absolutely crazy. That's happy for you, Brodie,
let's go. Let's go, copMan and Caddy. I was so happy
for you. Like I said,I wasn't gonna go up there without Son.
I'm kind of glad you guys didn'tcome because it was chaos. Bro,
Yeah it was. I'm at thepoint now where I can actually like

(24:33):
say what's up to people and likeyeah, yeah, yeah, let me
ask you, do you have anofficial picture of your face? Like trying
to keep it happy, but knowingwhat she was dealing with that to say
all right, yo, just likeit okay, So I want to give
you my picture on my first nightwith my face, and I want you
to mirror those two together and letthat be the positive. Let just be

(24:57):
the podcast cover for this week, because Bro, because you know what's crazy
is like I'm trying to help cook. I'm trying to do stuff. I'm
trying to Another big thing I learned, too, bro, is I can't
do everything as much as I learnedtelling you this as much as I wanted
to, Bro, I don't careif you could. You could pound this

(25:17):
in my head. I am sohardheaded thinking I can do this, I
can do that, I can doI think it came to a point where
I pulled the all nighter last weekendand about four or five o'clock in the
afternoon on Saturday, this damn ticketmachine keep keeps printing it I have and
I'm just looking at it and likelooking at the screen. And one of

(25:40):
the cooks looks at me and waslike, you need to go sit down.
You need to just get out ofhere. Go sit down like I
was. And then my dad lookedat me, He's like, what is
wrong, Like what's going on?I was like, I just need to
go sit down, have some water. And like it was. It was
just and then you know, thenwe had to talk like, hey,
like you can't do everything, likeyou you have to let these guys do

(26:02):
it. You've trained them this. You know, training is never gonna stop.
I'll always be in the kitchen. But it's like, you need to
let these guys learn, you know, you need to let them do their
thing. But it's tough, Bro. It's your own product that you're You're
putting your stamp of approval on it, and I have to let that other
people trust. I gotta trust otherpeople to do that. What's I do?

(26:23):
I get my team. The peoplewe have hired are insane, Bro,
they are They're all rock stars. It's fine, It's absolutely amazing because
that's the thing I was worried aboutBros. Employees and this and that.
You know, I've heard the horrorstories and all that. So far two
weeks in, Bro haven't had anyissues. Zero. Good well, good,
good, good, good good.I'm happy, Brody. I'm happy

(26:45):
for you, Yo, Kyle,You're my brother, man. Yo.
I was so happy to see yoursuccess from that weekend. Bro. Like,
honestly, man, honestly, whatbarrel, barrel? What's good?
With you, bro. Huh whatyo? It was your birthday last week?
Yo? Yo yo bar? Whysee y'all would be stressing me and

(27:07):
be like, oh you ain't giveme no invite? Yo? What happened
to the invite to Vegas? Iknow you went to Vegas? You want
to Vegas to Vegas for your birthday? No? No, what you do?
What you do? Where was that? Where was it that my birthday
was last week? Would be aweek ago Wednesday. I didn't do anything.
I was in bed on my birthdayby like nine o'clock. I didn't

(27:33):
do anything. And then the followingthat weekend, the following weekend, uh,
NASCAR was in town. So itwas with somebody's mind doing that.
But I kept it kind of mellow. This year kind of stripped it down
a little bit for the spring race. But I didn't do anything really last
week. Why was you about toget married or some ship? You found
a good swipe? Right? Oh? No, I slowed it down,

(27:56):
I said, slowed down. Oh, I'll tell you the reason I slowed
down. So it's weird, likethere's been there's been some things like I
don't know, there's been like thingsin life recently that I've just been kind
of like, uh uh no,you say, like you know, one
of the things that happened. Wetalked about it here briefly when Toby Keith
died. I remember texting my dadafter that that morning and be like,

(28:17):
damn, it's crazy, like TobyKeith died. And my dad wrote back
he said, yeah, he's likeand he was even younger than me,
and whatever reason, I just likestuck with me. Toby Keith was younger
than my dad. Oh, Andmy dad said that, And it's kind
of like rang in my head, and I think of myself, going,
man, I can throw the biggest, baddest parties in the world, Like
I mean, I've thrown some ragers, yeah in Vegas, all this shit

(28:40):
right, and I'm like, youknow, I need to slow down and
appreciate the finer things with family. So I did. So that was what
I did. This past weekend. My dad and I went to the race
and we met up with friends, but it was just he and I basically
like we went out third. Wehad some friends over to his house Thursday
night for dinner. It was nice. Then Friday, he and I were

(29:03):
there all day. Saturday all daySunday all day and yeah we ran into
people, but it was he andI and it was like we just kept
it us. It was not thechaos and everything, and it wasn't the
big party and everybody's like, ohwhere is it. I'm like, it's
not this year. And the reasonwhy is cause I was like, you
know, I throw those big oldparties and you have my dad's there and
you know we have we have funthere. But it's like, you know,

(29:23):
I just I needed it that weekend, need that time to be like
it's him and I. Yeah, you know, make those memories and be
like just slow down, silence, all the noise and the craziness is taken
in. So that's what I didlast weekend. But then I mean,
now we're I mean my world.I've got a festival this weekend. I've
got our smoke show, which Itried to get you guys be a vendors

(29:49):
in. But all of that,Brody yo yo me. Now let's drop
the tongs because I want to knowmore about this because even my bro he
called me Smith Dogg called me onthis is this the one in Chandler,
No, this is the one inGilbert, the one in Chandler is not
our events anymore. And and here'swhat I heard too. It was like,

(30:11):
yo, they said they canceled,uh Mike Ryman and he wasn't doing
it or whatever. But I sawI'm not sure. I don't have I
have no knowledge of any of that. I just know that we're no longer
working with that organization. We havea different group of working with and this
group's out of California. And Ithink that there was a little bit of

(30:32):
maybe growing pains in the first one. I mean, I try to get
you guys in there. Obviously itdidn't work out for the reason this one.
But no, the Chandler one werenot a part of. But the
Gilbert won, this one's Gilbert. We got that event on Saturday. I
got a wedding this week on Friday, and then yeah, right, and
then the following weekend, the followingweekend we got another show, and then

(30:53):
it's Easter, and then we comeback the first week in April. It's
like the next like six weeks arewide at It's a great it's a great
thing to have. It's a greattime. I mean, plus we got
another secret show coming up. Sothat's where I was from hold out the
grill, the grill and Kyle Mangoing to the sea. That's what I'm
saying. If you guys want apair of tickets, I'll happily give you

(31:15):
guys a pair of tickets. Well, no, no, Parel, that's
not the deal. The deal isif it is somebody like, oh,
I know you can't say you're sooh like now, this is how I
know if it's like a hu,this is a must. It's when Peril's
like, yo, I want youtwo to come to the Secret Show,
and it's like, here's the deal. Here's the deal. I'm gonna tell

(31:37):
you. And it's funny you evenbring that up. I guess I've I
don't know, something's come over meso far this year or maybe like the
past six months. I've just gottento the point now where I'm just done
trying to make people happy. AndI really I'm not because he out hear
me out. If it's frick inchurch you don't and you don't throw say

(31:59):
hey, you might want to tryto win these here because you make you
happy, then we're having an issue. Hear me, hear me. I
have done trying to say to someone, yeah, I think you're gonna like
this one or I don't think you'regonna like this one. And the reason
why I say that is the amountof times people will complain. They'll be
like, I'm not complaining. Itwas just this, or was it?

(32:20):
You can't maybe happy anymore? SoI'm just like, you know what,
but Barrel, Barrel in Snobstown, you out there in Scottsdale, hold on,
yo. You know us us getto ask people. We appreciate everything,
okay exactly, and Barrel, Ihave never ever once complained about any
I'm not saying you have I knowyou guys tickets or not? Yes or

(32:42):
no? It's no man, No, I don't want to know. That
was my first time. I'm givingyou a pair of tickets. You haven't
need to go with my brother Kyle, because he keeps me in what I'm
saying. I'm getting you. Youwas you was walking around with security all
night. You had a female securityguard. And that's my photographer. That's
my photographer. I have. Ihave a security guard with me. April

(33:05):
fourth and twenty fourth, it's Wednesdaynight and me and Kyle we had to
fit for ourselfs and Kyle had tohelp me to the bar and back,
and I'm trying to cut the line, and Kyle was like, you know,
let me just say if we dodo this. Kyle hasn't been out
in ever forever. I live ata restaurant, So this could get ugly.

(33:27):
Barrel, Well, you know whatit's going to get. You know
why it's going to get ugly.Yo, you gotta call your boy Dan
Australia, he said. He solet's get this. How you do it?
The air quotes, So Barrow, hold on, let me let me
start and then you could you finishit up. So Barrow, we got
a buddy named Dan that lives inAustralia. What part of Australia. I

(33:51):
don't know that. You don't tellme a lot about who he is.
If I know A part of Australiais man bro. He's he's a killer
in the He's from the down Under. Yeah, Crocodile on Crocodile Dundee's son.
So so he hits me up.He's like, Hey, I'm coming
to the US. I got I'mdoing. I gotta go to Dallas for
a little while and then I gota week that I'm free. Is it

(34:14):
cool if I come out to Phoenixand blah blah blah, and we're going
to catch a son's game and doall this. I was like, bro,
you, I got a room foryou. You can stay all good,
But the restaurant is opening, whichwe're gonna get into. But I
got another one quick story too.So I was like, the restaurant's going
to be opening. I got allthis crazy stuff going on. I was
like, I don't know how availableI'm going to be, but yes,

(34:37):
come on out and we'll figure itout. So he came out and I
kicked it with him, probably fortwo or three days, and then I
said, all right, I gottago. I gotta go sleep at the
restaurant. So then I had handedhim off to Phil, and Phil took
about what the Ridge contest is yo? Yo, life of the party,
Brodie yo. So first off,I seen he was in town and he

(34:59):
was going I think you posted something. No, he posted something that he
was coming out here going to therestaurant. I was like, wait,
hold on, how are you comingthrough my hometown? And he was trying
to avoid me. He was tryingto avoid me. That's right then,
that yo, Danny boy, Iknow you were trying to avoid me.
You was so happy that you knewSmith Dog was out of town that weekend.

(35:22):
No, no, he was outof town. We went to lunch
with Smitty and Molly on Tuesday oneweekend. Told you he was at a
town. No, no, holdon, no, no, no,
no, the weekend, the weekend. See weekdays, You're good because everybody
gotta do something the next day.Right, So weekend Smith was in Iowa.

(35:44):
Now he's in Costa Rica. Buthe knew. Danny knew that.
Okay, I'm gonna go hang outwith Kyle, go to the restaurant and
work with him, and blah blahblah. He thought he was going to
get a get in and out ofmy town without saying, what up from
New York? Work though? NowI'm the mayor, So I hit him.

(36:06):
I hit him, the mayor ofPhoenix, Arizona. What about Connecticut?
Your dancing skills, by the way, those were. It don't matter.
I didn't say I dance. Bethe worst dancer I've ever seen.
You are the You have the worstrhythm of any black man. I know.
I don't that. I don't try. I saw that, and I

(36:28):
was like, I was like, there are black men around the world that
would disown you. They would trainingback over as white people. Yo.
You know what's funny. He's halfgive that he's half half what I'm not
half black? You know my mama, my daddy. Yo, you better
stop right now. Hey you yougot your sweater on? Yo. Yo.

(36:52):
It was so funny though, right. So, uh, text Dan
and I said, Yo, Dan, you're coming in in my town and
you're not gonna even tell me.He was oh, supposed to be a
surprise. I was like bullshit. And then so he said he had son's
tickets. So I called my boy. I was like, yo, and
he spent so much bread on tickets, and I was like, bro,
I could have got you better seats. We could have been in the clubhouse

(37:15):
and some cushion seats and everything. For what you spent for one ticket,
we could have had two tickets forthat price. Right. So we go
out. I see, I seeI see my boy. Uh what's his
name? Barro Sabalis uh Cedric. He was like, yo, he gave
me a hugged by Bob. Yo. Yo, he's sitting Danny sitting like

(37:36):
five seats ahead of me or whatever. But because I went for the lower
tickets, knowing that I couldn't gethim in and he couldn't catch his tickets
in anyway. We start out atthe rib competition, right, So Barbecue
Island had this rib competition at tiedinto four peaks, right, war peaks
right out in Tippee. Right. So I'm not taking much of it,

(37:58):
you know, I barely report wholeon. Hold on, you're not thinking
much of it. I think wetalked every day last week about what you
don't play it off? Hold on, hold on, hold on, let
me let me figure. I'm gladyou said that good. Don't play it
off like it was about, becausewe talked about now here here was the
deal. This is what I read, right. It was a real rib

(38:22):
competition and we was turning in ribsand the three categories. One you had
to use something infused and with kiltlifter. No it actually at first it
said one of their beers, rightthen it turned out to be kiltlifter.
The other contest was just a regularturn in on ribs, right whatever the

(38:47):
best ribs on the table was.It was an open rib category. How
I felt, you know, comingfrom you know, competition. Then the
other way you could have won wasuh, people's choice. So if you
got the most tokens and people's choice, you are the one. So I'm

(39:07):
yo. So Friday, we haveto set up by four. You know,
Phil ain't set up ship right,so because I got pictures of it,
yo, Yo, so daddy Daddid goes it, says Yo,
Phil, what time? I waslike, yo, I gotta go do
fill the builder and ship and thenI'm gonna come catch you or whatever you
know. Hit me at the housewas like one o'clock. So one o'clock

(39:28):
He's like, Phil, I don'thave a car. I gotta get picked
up. So I go all theway to Wadell go get him or whatever.
And I got a little tramp onthe back of the audi. Yo.
We go to storage. I waslike, yo, I need to
cheez, you know. And sowe go to storage. The the GMG
is buried in the back with restaurantshit right, like, yo, there's

(39:51):
so much restaurant ship in the back. I was like, all right,
I got and the one Jason droppedoff of me in the box, I'm
gonna just take the one in theright. So Friday night, I drop
off one GMG, the brand ofone in the box a table a tent
and I'm out in like five minutes, right, So we come back to
the crib. We in the batwere hanging out. A couple of my

(40:14):
people's came over and met Danny becauseI was like, yo, I got
an Australian out here, somebody Igot. I got an Assi out here,
AZZI So yo, So we outhere, pigget bourbon, blah blah
blah whatever. He's he's enjoying hisnight. And then it's like twelve one
o'clock. I was like, yo, I'm about to go to sleep.
I gotta go. They do whatever. He's like, all right, cool,

(40:37):
I get up five in the morning, whip up some sauce, go
out there, Yo, seven pointthirty in the morning. I cracked my
first bud light. Most why wereyou drinking that at at four Peaks,
one of the best breweries in town. That's the most disrespectful thing you could
do. Yeah, but meet youa lotos there. No, it's that's

(41:01):
you know, how you know listenbro right in the hot one the peaka
the Peak. I oh yeah,I drink those after work, bro Yo,
those are fire. So anyway weget down there, we we you
know, I drop off the joint. We come back to the crib.
Right next day, we go outthere. We get out there. I

(41:22):
got I got ribs, I gottacook. I show up at like,
Yo. When I came in,everybody's already cooking. It's like thirty o'clock.
My my g one of my Gmjesusstill in the box. Gotta be
a symbol. Tit down. Everybody'scooking and everybody's like this. You know.

(41:45):
You know how many text messages Igot and they said, here's here's
my camp, there's Phil's. Andthey're literally a table and nothing set up
or nothing. Everybody's already cooking.And I wasn't gonna text you. I
was busy, but I was likethis guy, yo, and you no
hold on. You give me somuch crap for making sure that you're up
when we're at a contest together,that I get you up. You're in

(42:07):
the truck and we're at the contestearlier, and you bitch and complain the
entire time about being there so early. Yo. Man, you're not rushing
like you did on Saturday. Thatwasn't the problem. It was the problem
after we got things set up.Shout out to Bama Bama bam Q for
helping me set up because he's like, yo, I had to put my
joy to get the last Thursday.I was like, yo, then you

(42:30):
hit yo. Guess who I was? Sandwich between pause, but Johan and
Rob Dodge, both of them inboth ears talking smning all day, right,
and Johanna is like, I'm goingto film you with his sweetish exit.
I'm gonna film you how long it'sgoing to take you to put together?

(42:52):
I'm like, bro I'm already onmy second Meetlana putting together this.
I got ribs to do. It'snine o'clock and we got to serve.
I love it right? Whatever me? And did you join the competition?
No, Brodie, I didn't.I didn't. Let me tell you what
happened. People's choice was more thanjust displaying ribs. So I was like,

(43:16):
all right, I'm gonna steal somethingfrom my little brother. I took
bacon rap ribs. I did baconrap ribs. I came up with a
killer sauce with the Blues Hog,Chipotle and Smitty's joint. I mixed it
together. It was hitting all day. It was a nice white everything,
right, Yo, How does thatgo up with if somebody's giving you bacon

(43:38):
rap oreos, I'm like, howis that people's choice? This was a
rib joint or mac and cheek andyo trufle truffle Burger. I'm like,
hold on, yo, another sugarjoint dropped out. But yo son,
I'm like, yo, all right, you know I'm looking at it.

(44:00):
Yes, Kyle, I what Idid have a plan. So I was
excited to use my plan and putit in action. But you didn't stick
to it. No I did.I did everything. I did shrimp and
grits. I made the gravy, the big and gravy uh with the shrimp,
and I used the kilt litter, simmered it down blah blah blah.
And I had a nice little youknow, it was three judges, so

(44:22):
I had a nice little shot youknow, flight tight wood thing, and
I had some cats iron and youknow, I put that together, turned
it in. Everybody's coming with mystrasitieslike Burger's like this big. I got
this with three shrimp. And thenI said, damn to the store.

(44:44):
I don't know. I said,damn, all right, I'm gonna get
this set up. Go to thisstore. I need shrimp, right,
go get shirt, get the colossals, get the biggest fresh shrip. Yo.
He came back with like some thirtyforties, like thirty first. He
played me first, he played meit gave me some popcorn strip that was

(45:06):
already cripp quote and I was like, bro, this ain't gonna work.
And he's like, nah, I'mjust playing, and they give me the
other bag. I was still justyo. I loved them. Yo.
We had a fire. We hada fire. I heard about the fire,
yo. So we had we had. We was cooking bacon rap ribs
all day, right, and I'mstarting to smell ship right. I'm like,

(45:30):
damn, this ship smell hot.And I look at the grill and
it's four hundred and hold on,hold on, foes bacon rap ribs all
day right. So I'm starting tosmell ship right, and I was like,
I'm gonna go turn it down.Damn. Was like, no,

(45:52):
don't touch it, ba by Yo, leave it there. It's got to
get crispy. I was like, all right, Yo, you got it,
you got it, Bye bye bye. Right. Next thing, I
got my meta glasses on. I'mlistening to music chilling, and I thought
I heard somebody say Phil the grill, and it's whoever Johan had helping him,
and he's like, yo, feelthe gril, Phil the grill,

(46:13):
Phil the grill. Then he says, in my ear, Phil the grill,
your smoker is spitting fire out thegap. Yo. There's a little
bit of fire out to drip here. Right, So I ain't care.
I was like, all right, cool, I know what to do.
How many fires out out on myfeet, right, that's occasun cooker now.
But I was like, all right, I started blocking off the air

(46:36):
joints or whatever. Dan is likegrabbing what he can out of it or
whatever like that, and so everybodyand here's Johans punk behind filming me saying,
oh yo, y'all, I'm goingto catch this for phill the grill.
And it wasn't even nothing a bigdeal like that kind of a big
deal. It wasn't a big deal. It was it looks like a big

(46:59):
deal, look like it on yohansting. But I was like, I
wasn't even sweating it. I waslike, all right, grabbed the ribs,
I'm gonna close this out. Andwe just moved to the other smoker.
Right. I was like, itwas no big deal. But it
was. It was a day, right. I didn't realize that Dan works

(47:20):
with Celsius and not far. Youcan't blame you ain't blaming that on it.
No way, no way, fourhundred. I was like this,
four hundred Celsius is like melting.Yeah, your excuse holding no water that
there's zero there's zero excuse that youcan blame Dan only was, but there's

(47:43):
absolutely no I know Phil craked itup that I know for a fact that
I did not, And that wasmy joke all weekend. I was like,
Yo, I got a Canadian.I mean, I got that Australian
out here that worked with Celsius.Don't read the guy that's like sponsored by
GMG and has gmgs all over theI love Dan. Dan is a great

(48:04):
cook bro like yo. Then yo. Then I took him. Yo.
We went to the Son's game. They lost. I was CUsing we was
in two different seats and and Iwas like, yo, all right,
so we could take I take himthere. I take him to my nephews
like art gallery. Then I takehim. So we've been up since like
six o'clock. I've been drinking sinceseven in the morning. At night,

(48:29):
I take him to this club, right, I take him to wo.
Matt got a little his biggie Small'shis tribute because it's three times yop.
Yo. I go in there andworst dancing ever seen in my life.
Yo, I go in there.I go in there, barrel and and

(48:49):
and people are like, yo,who is this guy that he's with?
Right? And then he's got thisAustralian accent. Dan was the man the
whole night in there. He waslike a Danny DeVito or what what what's
the dude Chachi from Appy days?Like the dude was nic So I got
my peoples in there, and oneof my people was like, yo,
Dan, don't worry about peoples inthere, and he was like for the

(49:12):
people that understand my lingo. Danwas the only white boy in this clumb
that night. And one of mymen said, Dan, feel comfortable you're
with straight killers tonight. We'll draganybody through here if you have a problem.
Dan was like, I was playingit on cooking ribs and timing ribs
to brow. But yo, sowe had we had a great time.

(49:38):
And then so Dan I told Dan, I was like, yo, he
was telling me, put two aspirintsby the bed and I was like,
you know what, my two aspirinsby the bed is waffle house. Do
y'all got waffle house? And he'slike, I never ate a waffle in
my life. And I took Itook him the waffle house. We had
a great time. He never hada peanut butter and jelly sandwich before.

(50:00):
Yah. I was like, yo, I'm coming out with these wings tomorrow.
It's peanut butter and jelly. He'slike, what is that. I
was like, you never had apeanut butter and jelly sandwich as a kid.
He's like, no, bro wedon't have that. So I had
to whip him on something broo.Yeah, he never had a lot of
that before. Yo. He had. He had a whiffle for the first

(50:20):
time, messing with Phil the grill. He messed with some black chicks,
messing with He was around a lotof a lot of dogskin people. Let's
just say, all right, solet's transition to something else that we've all
been talking about. We all gotthem the new gmgs. Yes, how
bad ass are they? They're great? Bro okay, let me Oh it's

(50:45):

stuff, and they're like, oh, Christmas is coming, Like, oh,
it's gotta yea Christmas gotta be coolwith the kids. He's like,
no, because I have to puttogether all kinds of crazy stuff. I
gotta have batteries, I gotta havethis, I gotta have that. You

(51:06):
what goes where and how to.I know, I don't need instruction talk
about this was different. This wasdifferent. No, it wasn't different.
Yes, it was different. We'regonna talk about it. I know.
I just want to give you mytakeaways. A. The packaging of this
thing is absolutely beautiful. It's absolutelyperfect, very well packaged. And if

(51:31):
you are every piece of cardboard tothe dumpster on site, oh, I
know exactly. I needed two loadsto my recycling guy. My box was
overflowed like a mofo. But Iwas like, I don't care. Well,
but everything was packaged, everything wasgood, and I'm you know,
pulling it out, and it saysyou need two people because it's so heavy,
because I got the big one,and I was like, nah,

(51:52):
I don't need that, you know, And I'm just you know, cranking,
putting it on and then I noticed. I'm like, damn, I
didn't get I'm missing a up ofbolts for my for my legs. And
then I see the bolts at theend of the leg that had the spacers
on them that holds the shelf, and I was like, oh, those
are it. So I took thoseout. I put those Okay, let's

(52:14):
here, let's start. So ifyou when you open the awesome, beautiful
packaging, there is a very largesand says step one, scan this QR
code. You scan the QR codeand it opens up this awesome app called

(52:35):
Built b I l t this appis phenomenal. I'm not need to say
this for GMG. There's other girlsin their webers excuse me, Weber's on
there, there's other ones. Thebuilt app is stellar. It is like
legitimately instructions three D CAD designing, absolutely awesome. Dog listening to Kyle,

(52:59):
do not listen to Kyle. Righthere, Kyle pull to fill the grill.
He half asked it. I didit terribly. No, he didn't.
You didn't read the instructions barrel. You did not stand the app?
No, I did not. Sobecause I took I took the bolts out.
Why did you take the bolts out? It doesn't I thought that was

(53:23):
thought he could use red freaking greenor red freaking red red tip lettuce because
he didn't read the damn instructions. All right, but Barrel, hold on,
I know you sound like an ahole. No, I'm not trying
to sound This is dead serious.I have putting together a ton of grills
in my life, and this wasan all new one. Yeah, I

(53:44):
get it. It's it's I getit. So I'm doing this stuff and
I'm like, damn im I wasabout the text stations. I'm like,
yo, bro, I'm missing liketwo bolts. So I was. I
took two bolts off my old GMGand used those boom Life's good. Then
I couldn't figure out the ship shelfwas pissing me off. I could figure
that out, or the smokestack,Brel, Barrel. I downloaded the app,

(54:09):
and this beautiful lady pops up andstarts telling me lift lid up,
Oh do this, do that, and then I'm fast forward, okay,
fast forward next to the shelf.Dude, if you would have done what
you were supposed to in the beginning, this never happens. Yeah, I

(54:30):
know, I get it barrel. But back to the hardheadedness. I can
put together a grill, but obviouslyyou can't put together a grill. Oh
it was good. Flowers here fowersthis grill. The excluding what Kyle doesn't

(54:51):
know what the hell he's doing. The app, the built app is phenomenal,
the build out, the quality ofit, how heavy, the legs
are great. Everything about this newGMG is stellar, including the assembly,
including the packaging. The assembly followthe app even if you built a million

(55:13):
of it. Because there are afew differences, you can both do.
Like Kyle taking out random bolts, and we're also gonna throw since we're throwing
flowers at people here, we're gonnathrow some flowers at Kyle. Kyle says
to me. Kyle goes, hey, I got an extra piece with mine.
I'm like, you got an extrapiece? He's like yeah. He
goes it's this piece of like metaland it's like long, and I go

(55:34):
yeah, he goes, it doesn'tgo anywhere. I'm like, yes,
it does, it doesn't it.That is the heat shield or go that
is your heat diffuse of your handle. No it isn't. Yes it is,
bro. That's because I looked atthe because you didn't read the instructions.
No, because as soon as thegrill was built, everything life was
good. I figured out the shelf, I have the app now and I'm

(55:57):
like boom, huh, I gotthis extra piece and the bolt holes are
massive, and I'm like, well, I don't have any bolts for that,
So I went through the tru Imight have missed it. I don't
know. It's a beautiful. I'mgoing right now to the built up and
I'm going to find out what stepis miss and you have the big one
or the little one. I'm pullingthe big one up right now. They're

(56:20):
on the phone. I want tosay this. I want to say this.
I want to add some flowers tothe Green Mountain grill. This is
what I did notice side by sidecomparison, side by side comparison before the
fire. Yo yo, Look lookbro, it was so weak. Johan

(56:42):
made a big deal out of nothing. Look look real quick here, sorry
interrupt you. We'll get to youto second step sixteen. Transfer plate to
the grill lid using the four handlespacers. Important to keep the juice spaces
on the grill each side for thegrill lid to maximize heat step number sixteen.
You need a ten millimeter wrench,Kyle, yoh, right there,

(57:06):
brop sixteen. Pull open your billtapp. That's not you're better than that.
I got you food. I gotyour foo yo, yo, yo,
check this out, though you're betterside by side comparison. I filled
out my older GMG, and nowmind you, it was alledge right,

(57:28):
it was no, it wasn't evenalleged what they call that. Yes,
the ledge. The ledge was thelast one, right, the latest,
latest, greatest. I filled thatup two three times, and I didn't
fill up my new one. Oncethey was cranking. They were cranking,
yo, bro. That joint wentdown like maybe like that much. It's

(57:50):
so efficient, yo, it wentdown like that much my other one.
And I was cranking at like threehundred degrees, you know, to eighty
three hundred to my boy Danny turnedit up to four hundred, but it
was creaking at like two eighty twoseventy five, both of them. Yo,
this much to two bags, bro, that's an efficient piece of hardware

(58:13):
right there. It's a great grill. Earlier, aud grill, you said
you you did not yo, youdidn't follows. Yeah you look look I'm
not. I'm not even gonna laughat you because I ain't following no instructions.
I was hoping Jason was going tobe out there early in the morning,
so he put it together for you, not help. He would have

(58:36):
put it together for yo. Myboy, my boy. Bama came through
and helped me out. You guysare This is the thing though, that
I think that we need to goback to when a manufacturer goes to the
level of giving you a gigantic likeeleven by seventeen laminated piece that says scan

(58:59):
this first. That was the firstpiece of Cardboy that got thrown out,
you guys, because see what happenshere. This is what bothers me.
Is what happens here is you goand you you said mine got an extra
piece, and I was like what, and you're like off like that mine

(59:22):
came to an extra piece, soyou probably told other people came the next
peace it didn't come to the extrapiece. You didn't. You came with
an extra chromosome in your brain.I'm smart, didn't use it. Sorry,
you're better than that, way betterKyle, Yo, you yo,
you're about You're about You're about You'reabout eagle with wait, new York school

(59:45):
public school systems right there? WhyNew York? Yeah, you obviously didn't
go to Yukon. So let's justsay real quick here, the new GMG
is phenomenal. That damn thing isphenomenal. That wasn't the one that caught
on fire. And it ran smooth, Okay, So this is what's interesting

(01:00:07):
about it. I was dialing inlike the heat, you know, making
sure I got like everything centered whereI you know, the the even heat.
Shall we say it was good?I want to know your experience.
It didn't, okay the old GMG, man, you had to tinker with
stuff and like you had to likea couple of millimeters, man, and

(01:00:29):
you'd have a badass hot spot. And I do the mind I saw this
online on TikTok or wherever. Todo your heat. Do the the toast
test. We heard about this. You take a bunch of breast, yeah,
biscuits, whatever, and you putit on there and if one gets
really cooked fast, you know, that's your hotter spot. And you're trying
to like, you know, dialit all with you know what I use

(01:00:51):
that use an infrared laser. Idon't need, yeah, exactly, you
could do whatever you want, butyou know it's like a little bit here,
a little bit there, right, you know, and the old one
it did take a little bit oftink going to get dialed in. Yes,
yes, yo, even yo anotherside by and if you follow the
instructions when it says for placement, place at this notch on the adjustment handle

(01:01:15):
for best performance, did you dothat? Cop? Probably no yo yo
yo. Check it out. Checkit out side by side comparison again.
I took my bacon wrap ribs right, so they were already cooked. I'm
just trying to crisp them up,get them, you know, some color
and let that take four hundred degrees. No, this is before that,
this is before that. This islike first wrap. Right. So I

(01:01:37):
got all of these, like youknow, pre cooked. I wrapped them.
I got one on the old GMG, I got one on the new
one. Right. I ran outof the trays with the trivits, so
I was putting them on Trivin traysso I could get it even cooked in
the yo one by by by yo. I put all of them line by
the line in the new one,no tray right on the grill. I

(01:02:01):
didn't have a second shelf even cooknone of them were discolored, from the
one that was in the front tothe one in the back right yo,
the the other one. I hadto switch trays around and moved stuff around
even cook no tray on the rack. I haven't I haven't cooked online yet,

(01:02:23):
but I don't know. I gottaplay with it some more, but
I like. I still kind oflike the shelf from the old the last
GMG with the front shelf, theone that's got the clicks click. I
don't know, I haven't. Youknow what you know why barrel because he

(01:02:45):
has one of these. He hasno he has one of these competition tables
that I would have threw out along time ago. It has the buttons
barrel that you got to push inand pull the leg out and almost pinch
your fingers doing it right. That'swhy he likes the stuff that click.
I like. I like the click, I know exactly. Friendship is also

(01:03:10):
another thing that I thought was areally nice little touch. Was it was
a simple thing for like strengthening itfrom flexing that bottom that botto where the
GMG plate is, you know whatI mean, where it's kind of like
a little it almost looks like alittle display effect that goes across the back
to kind of put it with thelegs again. That little piece right there,
just keeping it more firm, moremore stable. I'm telling you this

(01:03:34):
new GMG is stellar again. Andalso I'm just gonna say this too.
The only thing that I'm I'm notsaying I had a problem with, but
I learned this one. You gottacrank up higher than your normal. You
gotta cook cotta. You got acocoder because I think personally, I think

(01:03:55):
because exactly seventy five to seventy fiveacross the gate versus two seventy five before
maybe in two seventy five here, but more like three ten three or five.
Two seventy five is two seventy five. Two fifty five is two fifty
five three. You know you're notgonna be where. Yeah, I want
two fifty five sixty five to seventyover there for an average temperature of two

(01:04:18):
sixty eight two seventy. Now,this damn thing is dial I mean also,
I know, Kyle, you struggledthis because you didn't watch instructions.
I really love the smokestack, howit comes through the eight. And the
asset was to put that together untilI did, and then I was like,
wow, Piet a lot better. It was simple, I know,

(01:04:40):
but I'm I'm not all there, bro du I work at a restaurant because
what I love about it, Bythe way, I love how you used
to work in aerospace and no wonderwhy I'm boeing yeah, and boats has
falling off the butt. Well, everything went to the hell. Bro Coyle
leaves everything with the hell. ButI will say this, I love how
the smoke stack goes through the lidthe way it does, because that's the

(01:05:02):
one knock I always had on theGMG before was when you tried to move
it. There was no a noeasy way to pick it up, so
you naturally did use the smoke stacks. And the smoke stack was just kind
of held on, and then itwould get kind of flimsy, or there
was potential it'd get bent because youknow, you're trying to tie the damn
thing down, so you tie ontothat and your bending. I was always
like, man, I use thatas a handle going up and up and

(01:05:25):
down on the truck. I'm deadserious. I used to use that dead
serious to get in the truck.Did. But it's not it's not,
but you know, I mean, what am I going to grab? I
was bending or break it again?Props to Jason Baker the entire Green Mountain
family. I actually went and purchasedthe side Oh you got it. I

(01:05:46):
went and purchased the side piece today. All right, So okay, let
me tell you a quick story. So okay, listen. Yes, Barbecue
Island has them. You can.You could use your barbecue discount on that
purchase. You get a little lowerthan what normal causes. But here's the
deal. I call it the sidepiece. It's called the side what's it

(01:06:11):
called barrel? What's the side?Side? SI? So so Jason I
said, yo, I need aside piece. He was like, you
can't call the side piece because that'swhat I wanted to call it. But
my marketing team said, I can'tcall it the side piece. He's like,
so that's why it's a side burn. But yeah, I called mine

(01:06:35):
the side piece. I'm gonna don'tdon't let Tony hear that. She's gonna
come out there and whoop you liveon camera. We're gonna have video of
her beating the absolute every break off. I would love that. I would
love that I would be hearing thatyou're going to sort to get your side
piece. She'd be coming out andshe'd be beating you like a redheaded step

(01:06:59):
child. Yo, Yo, freakingDanny here this weekend. It was so
hilarious. I got so much footageand like just the interaction of like the
Hood meets Australia. So it waslike it was like and I don't mean
no disrespect because Daddy's cool and he'snot of Crocodile Dundee, but it was

(01:07:20):
like Crocodile Dundee the real life ofhim going to New York, because it
was just like he's going, he'sgoing to get his ring this weekend.
This weekend's Worlds, and I amterribly upset that I can't go to it.
I know, me too, metoo. Worlds in Dallas. It's
the World Championship, and I hopegood luck to everybody that's going, and
I hope somebody from the West Coastpulls it out and gets it, bro,

(01:07:43):
Like, I hope somebody takes thathome, because then I'm coming after
you next year. Kyl be back. Next year. You ain't doing nothing.
Better watch out Cole's back. Yo. You ain't doing nothing because yo,
you're gonna have a pandemic next year. You gotta have a side window.
Oh, stop going down. He'slike you, Kyle, I don't

(01:08:09):
need that drama. My door isopen a closing. You doing it all
right? Let's wrap this up.Uh. We gotta say though, congratulations
to you, Kyle. That's awesome, man, very happy to you and
birds and Bones, the entire staffCaffeini doing big things out there, all
the success to you. I'm proudof you. I'm happy for you.
I do want to say, I'mreally glad that you're not in the manufacturing

(01:08:34):
and assembling of anything that may possiblyimpact my livelihood anymore, after your inability
and your bone headed, hard headed, stone headed No, Beryl, it's
not even that, Beryl. Howmany gmgs have you ever put together in
your life, Kyle, I'll putI put a lot of them, Kyle,

(01:08:56):
me too different. How Chevy. How many Chevy trucks are there out
there? They're a little bit different. No, they're all there freaking same.
You follow the manual, buddy, follow. That's the first thing that
gets thrown out because you and that'sthe reason why you had a problem.
Hell, do I need a manualfor my shell? C really you do.
So. Props to Jason Baker andthe Green Mountain Family for an absolutely

(01:09:18):
badass new grill. The packaging isstellar, the assembly of it is stellar.
That built app is phenomenal. Usethe app even if you've done it
a million times. You don't like, I got an extra piece. Now
you got an extra piece because youdidn't follow instructions. Tell me tell you
what it is. Phenomenal. Itis a great deal. Assembly, the

(01:09:42):
packaging is awesome. Go get yourselfone. You're not gonna regret it.
You're not gonna end up with extrapieces. You're not gonna have any problems
with files. If you don't needto take bout any bolts out of legs,
