(00:00):
Welcome to don't drop the tongs.Remember, boy, we got Kyle,
you are behind barbeque. We gotPhil the Grill in the house. You
you Yeah, Phil, I'm gladto see Phil decided to join us.
So we are running little late becausePhil, you know, missed the call
time again. Yeah, and camein looking like Bob the Builder. Literally
you got your vest on, bro, Yeah, I got my vest my

(00:22):
fifty Yeah, just so that that'sthat's so, that's my excuse. Best,
like if I'm late, not goingon up like, oh my god,
that's gonna he must be he mustbe working hard. The stops on.
That's my excuse. Vest That couldbe the greatest line of it.
All right, so let's get rollingon this. No, but hold on,

(00:44):
hold on, hold on, holdon, Let's backtrack the last week
because I got when you didn't showup. Yeah, when I got some
attraction. So I was in thatother room. You're in my studio because
you had to take a call.Yeah. You said it was gonna be
ten minutes, and it took thewhole hour. So I apologize Radio and
LAMB, but these guys did fabricatethat I caught a table on fire and
burnt up stuff. Okay, youcaught a table coffee, burnt up food

(01:08):
and was serving burned up food. Now, let me tell y'all, your
food was a little you know,I was doing this for years, I
said, by my guiver, andI could come up and build anything out
of any situation and make it happen, right, And so I did.
I didn't have a shafing dish,which is true, but I did put

(01:29):
one of those little propane things underneathmy pan full of water with two half
pans in it, and everybody ateand was married. Now I did I
have a whole smortgage board that Kylehad, Like Kyle was running a whole
golden kerral you had, he gotgolden corral. Yes, yeah, I
have a question. Why did youhave a chafing dish? And I understand

(01:53):
because I, first off, thiswas a voluntary like set up. This
was this was a you know,it was it was a volunteer setup.
But it allowed you to showcase yourrubs and sell your rubs. So in
a way it did get paid.I'm kind of with that. The more

(02:15):
you had sold the life because Icontributed the food, I contributed my time,
I contributed my labor. I contributeda lot of things, and I'm
not usually used to going to mygreat friends of Barbecue Island and not them
already providing perfect setups. Because theydid have perfect setups for a lot of
other vendors. But we didn't havea perfect setup. We had to bring

(02:37):
all of our own stuff. Butthat was that was out of the ordinary
when Phil the Grill goes to BarbecueIsland and I love you guys Barbecue Island,
but I did not get my perfectsetup that I normally, you know,
go in and do so out ofmy own pocket. I did contribute
to the marketing plan of selling rubs, which I did. It was only

(02:59):
two left on the shelf when Ileft. It was twenty five when we
first started, and we got thatdone. But at the end of the
day, no did I did nothave a shafing dish. I did go
to Shamrock on the way in andthey didn't have shafing dishes. So I
said, you know what, I'mgonna go down there. Somebody should have

(03:20):
an extra shafing dish. When Ifound out nobody had a shah let's talk
about that phone call. He yo, you got a safing dish. Yeah.
Yeah, But but what did youtell me go to Shamrock? You
said, go to Shamrock? Yeah, yeah, I went to share.
Did you think about going to thetarget that was in the parking during the
holiday season? Look, look, did you know I think that they would
have did go to target? Iwent and I got bers. I got
a six pack of bit no twelvepack of Stellars, And at that time,

(03:45):
my shafing dish was working. Mymakeshift shafing dish, without burning tables,
without burning tablecloth, without burning foodwork. You gotta admit, you
gotta admit, you gotta admit yoursetup did work. It worked, but
it did not work well? Itworked? You did? You did have

(04:10):
You did have a small table fire. Did your tablecloth not get tablecloth?
You're because I threw everything away. It's no hole in no tablecloth. I
was not putting out no fire.I was you were putting out. We
didn't say you served burnt food.We said the food was. The food

(04:30):
was watering. You didn't have enoughwater. You didn't have enough water.
You put water in there, butyou built your stands alide. Did the
flame evaporate on the water out?I had hands, so there was no
way anything, but the flame washigh enough that it was burning. That's
because the table cats on fire.I'm staying out of it. Yeah,

(04:55):
we have video evidence. If youwant to go to the tape, we
are gonna We're gonna bring the tape. So what's that. I want to
see the throw the flag, throwthe flag through the challenge flag. I
need to see the replay. Andnot only that, just because of that
fabrication, I have Hello, helloradio man. They're giving me a choppy

(05:19):
mic now too. Now keep Ikeep jingling the court watching mouth bow.
So just because of the fabrication,I do it be Since I am the
developer planner of this show. Nowright, I'm setting up all the guests

(05:40):
coming in. I have a specialguest coming in for you, and I
have a special guest coming in foryou. It all lined up. Once
I come back from this World FoodChampionship, we're gonna put it on this
surprise. I have to be ableone that managed getting him in the buildings.
Don't know. We're just gonna call. We're gonna make calls. You
gotta do research now, Yeah, don't worry. All the research is done

(06:01):
because they actually want to speak toyou guys individually. It's not the same
person, but the one person wantsto speak to you, and the one
person that I have wants to speakto you. I don't know if I
I just want to let you knowit's Phil, though he probably won't be
able to lock it down. He'llbe like, I'm gonna lock it down.

(06:23):
Oh it's locked. It was,it's locked and loaded. I just
couldn't do it all today because Ididn't know if off my phone we call
it. Oh, no, you'renot going to have that. He has
the unplugged button. But no.So if it looks bad on me,
I'll take it out. But Ihave nothing to hide. If you did
catch the table off, explain thehole in the tablecloth. There was no

(06:47):
hole in no table cloth. Youknow why I know there's no hole in
the table cloth because I cleaned thetable off and there was no hole in
the tablecloth. All right, isthat hole? Time out? Yeah?
Okay? Are you ready for wildfoods? Baby? Ye? That's this
weekend? Right? Yes? Yes, it's actually I leave Thursday morning.
You're flying out. Yep. Isaw my brother today, you know,

(07:12):
so I went to the house coolerbecause he told me He's like, Phil's
only love to have one toe. You're gonna tell you that, bunch.
I wouldn't tell you that. Igot a little space. So I get
this Smitty's house, and I'm like, oh man, I got a cooler.

(07:33):
I got two tables. It wasthe higher tables, right, so
countertop height tables. So I gotI had the cooler, two countertop height
tables, and a C four Right. The C four is a backup type
truck. Right. And then Johnis meeting me out there. He has
weber, a tent and another table, and I'm good. I got all

(07:55):
my stuff packed in my corner inthe live fire right, live fire,
baby. So you have to puton the show, right, I'm putting.
I'm filled the grill, baby,I am the show. I'm the
show. I'm the show. I'mthe show. Disclosed. What kind of
what you're gonna make? Or what'sthe first? First round is surfing turf,
So you have to make any dishsurfing turf, yep, yep,
okay, and it has to goon a platter. It has to go

(08:16):
yep. So you have one presentationplate and five little small side plates.
Yeah, those are the tasting plates. Okay, so yeah, I'm I'm
ready basic, You're ready, though, I'm ready. Question, do you
have a timeline? Yes, Ido have a timeline. I'm proud of
you. With pictures, with pictures, what I put there? I put

(08:39):
this is what they're supposed to looklike on the plate, because sometimes I
get to the end and I'm like, damn, I'm gonna just this.
Yeah, so I got what itis supposed to look like. I did.
It's on my coffee table. I'mgonna tape it on my tape.
I'm proud of you. Yeah, yeah, looking proud of you. Thank
you, sir. Okay, I'vebeen I've been working hard at this.

(09:01):
I don't say working hard. Idon't know. I've been seeing I've been
seeing pictures. I'm proud of you. Then, so go there and win.
I'm gonna do my best, playlike a championship. I'm up.
I'm gonna play like a champion.Des So you got to get into top
ten? No, top seven?Yeah, okay, there how many contestants
are there? Twenty one group twentyone, twenty one. I gotta be
in the top third. You haveto be in the top seven. Why

(09:24):
isn't it not top ten? Ihave no idea. They shortened it,
so okay, top seven, topseven, this is two so this master
judges that come around and they viewyour style of cook and yeah, what
how you're doing it, what's yourmethod? What you're putting together? They

(09:45):
get to pick three contestants. Thejudges are blind judges, so they go
through in eight, three or threecome from them. That's whoa too.
They only they get to pick three, but if the three is not part
of the seven, two of themget to move up. Their top two
get to move up into that.Make that happen? Putting that that the

(10:07):
or or just the technical technical waveyou're putting together this dish because the dish
is supposed to be one uniform orone unified dish, right, so SURF
and DIRF is supposed to be justone uniform dish. It's not supposed to
be sides and this and that andyou know what I mean, So it
has to all blend together. Okay, they're going to walk around all these

(10:30):
twenty one tenths and just see whatyou're doing, like say, if you're
hanging a tomahawk or if you're Idon't know what you're hanging a lobster tail
in an hour and a half. And what's your live fire source going to
be? Uh? A weber kettle? Is that considered a live fire?
Though? Put your hand over abarrel? I get it, but I'm
saying though, but you still gowith it. I get it's a live
fire, but what's not live aboutit? Yeah? That's that's that's kind

(10:54):
of a question. Could put aSanta Maria, But why would I need
to put a Santa Maria? Isn'tit more? Don't you kind of get
greater on the presentation of the plateof the plate? So they don't.
Judges do come around, but theywant to see the show. You talking
about money. I'm going to pickthe trust and believe I'm giving them a
show. But you see what I'msaying with this, like you don't want
to see a show and you're gonnause a weber kettle like anybody can do

(11:15):
in their backyard. That is theshow. But it's the technical things that
I'm cooking on the weber cac andhow I'm doing it in that hour and
a half. Yeah, I justdon't see a bunch of people having these
because they have these live fire tablesset up Yeah, that is so so.
So that's the female So they dohave a Ladies five Women Challenge and

(11:39):
that's like the top four women inthis in the country that go and do
the live fire yeah presentation. Sothey'll be out there, you know,
and doing their thing and and heythat this is totally different. See how
twenty one people they are from allover the country are going to have live

(12:00):
fire setup. So I think ifyou got the Santa Maria set up on
your weber, it kind of showsthat you're trying. You're there. I'm
from Arizona. Couldn't get all mystuff here. Yeah, exactly on my
weber kettle and you just got toput on a put on it's off my
little on what you're doing. Ofcourse, just give him that filled the
grill. I'm a gill. I'mkilling that show. Baby. They look

(12:22):
they it's gonna be a show.Hey, if he needs a live fire,
he gets set a tablecloth on him. Okay, So if you make
top seven, you go into thekitchen. Now, go in the kitchen.
So they got that's where I wantto go. This is where I
want to Everybody gets a what twentytwenty kitchen. So there's an oven.
There's all kinds of things set upin these little kitchens. Yeah, so
what is the dish for the topseven people that have to cook in there?

(12:43):
The secret ingredient or the infused ingredientis shrimp. Shrimp. So you
could cook any dish you want, doesn't it doesn't It doesn't have to be
to be shrimp. But you haveto showcase shrimp. Guess why I brought
with me shrimp? Oh, Iheard the story. Are we talking about
the Okay? Never mind what youbring with you a walk, did you?

(13:07):
Well, that's all I'm gonna giveyou. No, Okay, let
me give you a little little pointerhere. When I cooked with Mike Johnson,
he wanted he needed help, sohe put me in charge of French
fries. So I was supposed toI was supposed to deep fry French fries
right when the thing goes on.We turned the thing on and let the
oven go right that hour and ahalf. Did not get that oil hot

(13:28):
enough to I know. I'm surehe did not get it hot. I'm
sure it was. It was awreck. I'm looking at Mike like I
just screwed this up for you,and he's eating it and He's like,
no, Bro, it's like waterburger French fries. He would get hot
enough. Okay, just be carefulwith the No. That's why I brought
my own walk. Yeah, Iget that, but you're gonna have to

(13:50):
use an oven. The oven.He got an electric walk. When I
put oh, got you, gotyou, I'm thinking you're putting this on
the oven. I'm like, Bro, I wouldn't be doing it. Thank
you, Barrel. You see whatI'm saying. Say I'm saying, but
don't give away all my stuff.Man. People are still listening and they're
gonna go out there and they're gonnado nothing. You're nothing, all right,

(14:11):
yoh wait, hold on, cannotgo to I had a whole week
off of not getting into my brotherKyle. So give me plenty of exactly
yep. So so I'll get there. But let's go back to Barbecue Island
real quick, just real quick, because the Bender demo right now, I

(14:37):
was sitting there and Barrel was sittingthere, and there was just a lot.
Okay, I got a fans, like fans, but but I think
his fan base is like in SunCity, some of them, some of
them may or may not be swingers. Well, I was trying not to
say that correctly, but yeah, but I think they are swingers because one

(14:58):
said this podcast. Yeah that whatthey said. They's like, Oh,
my wife just loves this bacon greenchili rub Can I take a picture with
you? She wants to meet you. You come by the house, and
yeah, he didn't the house.Yeah, but but but but but they
did want to go down to thebone, the basement of the bones.

(15:22):
They admit of the bones they wantedto go. Would agree, I agree.
I think some of Kyle's fans wereand I don't know what the blue
cheese thing was. It was likehe's got some he has some fans.
He has some fans that I willsay maybe belong on a watch list.

(15:45):
I mean they may have to theymay have to register with the county when
they moved places. Watch I mean, if you told me that someone had
to move or that they have togo to uh, they had the register
with the county in the state whenthey go places, maybe I would be
almost happened to me by using thebathroom behind the dumpster and tape yo yo

(16:07):
yo. Look, yeah, theyall have their lights off on Halloween.
Yeah, because they're supposed to notbecause they have they're not allowed to,
all right, So we're gonna movefrom there, all right, So let's
go to this week. This wasa great week, all right, speaking
about world foods, right, Isaid, I am not because you guys
were teasing me. You was like, hey, Phil, we're seeing your

(16:30):
name on vending at this Mesa.Right. The dm JA sent me a
dm He's like, yo, Phil'svending here. And he sent me a
picture and it shows a list ofall the competitors in Mesa and then it
shows who was going to sell foodand said filled the grill. I said
yeah. I was like, Iwas like no. So the promoter was

(16:52):
chasing me around and I was likedebating, can I do it? I
didn't really have enough people. Andthen you had to all trailers out,
and uh, you had all mytrailers. Oh I heard that. I
was on the text train. Isaw food trailer. I sorrow your food
trailer. Food, but you werealready using your trailer. No, it's

(17:14):
taken, yo. Then you tookall my help. You tell Tyler you
took Pops to you took Pops andTyler, you took all by my good
help. So so I decided Idecided to reneeg on doing the vending and
take it light and just get mymind ready for World Foods Uh Friday,

(17:37):
and went to go see my bigbrother Smith over in Masa. That was
great, Yo. You know that'sweird. Hold on, you know they
have not posted any Oh he wasgoing to get into that. Don't don't
get Barrel. Look at Barrel's eyebrowsalready. I have it. It's not
because I've been looking. I've beentrying. I want to. I wanted

(17:59):
to see too. A competition wasIt was a CACBS. You know that
says for now late results, Soso I go visit them. It was
great, Barrel. Look, itwas like old school against new school.
And you know, I got mybrother Smid fired up, right yo.
So so we're out there. Ray'sout there, So Ray from California's out

(18:22):
there. We're all over there bySmith's joint and I said, Yo,
got you know what this reminds meof like the old school crew that we
all started with right in caseybs. You had you had Tom Glenn, you
you had Vince right yo, youhad Ray, you had Smitty Rob Dodge,

(18:44):
like you had all of these oldschool competitors. Then you had the
new guys like Gabe right, andthen like b Mac and you know,
so that's crushing the game. I'mnot taking away from but it's like,
you know, old school fish newschool right. I got smid fired up.
I was like, so you knowwhat that means? Yeah? Yeah,

(19:04):
well he told me. He toldme. He told me the shut
up. He told me the shutup he said, he said, you
know what, Phil, You're notcompeting, so you don't have nothing to
say. You shut up. Butbasically I told him, I said,
so what does this mean? Hesaid, you're gonna let one of I
said, you're gonna let one ofthese new cats whoop your ass? And
he was like, Phil, that'swhen he told me. He said,

(19:26):
Phil, bad things. So hewanted he want gz, you want the
whole thing. Then I got upfirst or second in the Soy I think
it was first, and so theyhad a soy wait, hold on,
soy what chicken. I ain't goingto do it. I don't know.

(19:47):
Carry on, They're making soy burgersalright. So then I woke up Saturday
and I was like, you knowwhat, I'm gonna go visit the other
half of my family. So IBarrel. I drove all the way out
to Florence. I got a littlescared on the trip because I got to
sixty and it says you're about toend the highway right, and I was

(20:08):
like, it was wait, holdon, what's gonna happen next? Like,
and then it still says another twentymiles. I was like, how
is the sixty ending? And Istill got a whole another twenty miles that
goes down the highway. Yeah,So I go. I get out there.
Then who's the first person I see? Tyler? He's like, hey,
yo, yeah, I'm going andso so so Kyle thinks his brother's

(20:33):
just imitating being dead. He seesme. So you went out there.
I went out there, I sawmy other half of my family. Uh,
Kyle was out there already in hisgroove killing it. They were how
was the restaurant? Don't rat toomuch? Who yo? The restaurant is
nice, bro, good for nice? The rat do you think it?

(20:56):
Do you think it's like a likeshow, say, like too nice to
open? Is that white? Ithasn't opened yet? Yeah? Yeah,
because yeah, yo, the restaurantis real nice. They put a lot
of hard work in it. Youknow, a lot of hard work went
in there. Did you want topull a fire alarm just to make sure

(21:17):
it works? No? I wantedto fry. I wanted to fried chicken
outside from about the grill. Butbut yo, it was it was closed
like they had paper on the windows. You couldn't see him. That's what
I want to Nobody can see bigreveals coming the big girl field. No,
but it was real nice. UhSharon uh Coffi's the Kofinis was out

(21:38):
there, Pops was out there. It was a lot. Yo. Kyle's
gonna be in trouble out there.Yo. So yo, when I go
there, we're gonna keep this PG. Okay, I'm gonna just say there's
a lot of well, if they'redoing another Real Housewives, it should be
the Real Housewives of Florence because there'sa lot of housewives. There's a lot

(21:59):
of I'm not doing too much ofdone out in Florida. And they dick,
they Dickory not go forbid, allright, So okay, so you
go not only did you how'd youin your comp We won the whole thing.
So you took GC and that wasthat. Three years in a row.
Three years in a row three yearsa Grand Champions. So good to
you. But the biggest thing isthis. This was the the town of

(22:22):
Florence's first opportunity to experience yeah, birds and bone technical first experience. That
lasted for forty five minutes and wewere done. So we had a bunch
of food man and we got there. Thursday, we had a fire Marshall
deal. That's off air we'll talkabout. So then I had to set
everything up and I had to cookfood all night Thursday, and I learned

(22:45):
that you cannot buy beers for apublic official. I loaded yep, it's
just a bribe. So I loadedthe smokers up and then my dad and
I and brother were like, let'sgo get let's go pound some drinks.
Caddy corner from me is a barcalled the Irish Cowboy. It's a cool
little Irish bar. We go inthere, it's my first time there.
We started drinking and then I geta tap on the shoulder and this very

(23:10):
dressed, well professional woman comes upto me. She's like, Hi,
my name is you know so andso I'm the new city manager. I
was like, oh cool, andshe's like, well, I heard that
I need to have a beer withyou, and you know, my eyes
I'm there. I'm just like allright, yeah. So she sat down,
got a beer, sat down atour table, and we talked for
two hours. She wanted to knowthe whole dilemma and everything that was going

(23:30):
on. And so the waitress keptcoming over and like, yeah, I'll
take another one, get her one, and this and that, and she's
like, no, I get myown. I was like, Noah,
I'm buying any one. And soI kept doing this and she's getting frustrated
with me, and she's like,no, you can't buy a public official
of beer for food woopsie. AndI was like, you know me,
I've been drinking. I was like, oh, why not. She's like

(23:53):
because if people see that, they'regonna think that you were bribing me.
Yeah, And I'm just like hewas trying. He's trying to bribe us.
So we did all that. Wecooked a bunch of food. H
let's see all night Thursday night forsold for Friday. Stayed up all night
Friday, sold some food. TheKofinis took care of the trailer, Justin
and I took care of the contest. My dad was running back and forth

(24:17):
from the restaurant into the trailer becausewe got the big smoker in the restaurant,
So raise your prices so you guyscrush. Good for you guys.
That's good. So good local buzzfor you guys. Any idea when this
damn place is going to open?U put a date on it, but
it is, It should be open. Life is coming. Life's gonna smack
min. If you think it's overby Christmas film, it's not the problem

(24:40):
next year. You know what Ilearned, He's not. They they're just
playing around. You know why. This is why, And I'm not gonna
give too much away, but thisis what needs to happen. They need
to go and get Pops a nicemakeover, like take them to like what's
that, what's that nice barber shop? Mister b No, because he just

(25:03):
needs to be cleaned up just alittle bit right and get him, Yeah,
and get him, get him anice journey suit, journeys man suit
and a dozen roses and you havehim go down and deal with the official
that's giving you problems, the ladyofficial has given you problems from opening it,
and and just take him off toa nice dinner, a nice a
nice uh. I think Friday outin Florence's fried fish right all you could

(25:26):
eat fried fish. Oh you couldeat fried fish. Get them a nice
fish dinner and get clean. Pops. You might need to take one for
the That's what I'm trying to say. Get him clean up, get him
cleaned up, nice, get hima nice you know, cut a nice
little shave, and it Pops. And this is why I say Pops,
because you and your brother y'all don'thave to give the gap now. Pops,

(25:48):
on the other hand, heat hehas gave. Pops has gave you
and toller they got no game,y'all gotta come out and mess it up
and say something. But the Popshas all the games. And then when
he comes out with a box wind, it's like, hey, Mama,
you want to come and get alittle box wine? You know we're trying

(26:11):
to go for this ribs wings, yeah, you know, yeah, try
to start this whole thing. Ohthat's not gonna happen. Go full barbecue.
Meant to talk to you. I'mmeant to talk to you about that
because people are craving it. People, that's all people want this brisket,
full blown. Keep it. Don'tmake them change you, but I'm not
gonna get crazy with it. Yeah, please don't just take a brisket sandwich

(26:32):
and a pork sandwich, yeah,or a brisket play certain days, bro,
keep it, keep it, keepit, because I'm telling you that's
when you get the fluctuation of crosspriced talking. You know you're gonna get
brisket is seven dollars one week, and now that's just on your menu every
day. You got to eat itand then and then next week is pork
that's up, and then brisket andif you got too And the other thing

(26:56):
is when you're constantly buying a certainand out, you can lock in with
your food vendors and be like, look, I'm buying ten cases a week
from you right now. Of thisright, I am not paying no more
than two dollars and twenty cents perpound. Lock me in. They're gonna
lock you in. So now theygot a hole kid with your name on

(27:18):
it at their facility that all ofthat stuff goes twenty. So now if
the number goes up and down, you're still at twenty. Yeah, your
locked. But you can't do thatif you're selling all this other stuff.
I got a good I got aguy I can lean on. I got
a guy I can lean on aboutthis. It's true. I was telling
him on Saturday. I was like, I wanted to tell you to talk
to you about after Friday. AfterFriday Night's experience with everything, so people

(27:40):
were craving. No people they lovethe pulled pork sandwiches. They wanted the
brisket sandwiches. We had barbecue nachos, we had all this stuff, and
they were asking for ribs, butwe didn't have ribsons. I wanted to
showcase another side of the menu. But yeah, dude, I think we're
gonna have to be a full blownbarbecue restaurant. I can see that.
I mean, there's not it's not. There's nothing out there, dude,

(28:02):
I know, yes, I meansay it. There's nothing out there and
it's something new, and I hateto say it. You're hate. It's
a good thing for you. You'regonna be the only dog in town for
a while, and you can buildup lifelong clientele if you offer what they
want, and then when somebody elsedoes come in, because you know,
competition will show up potentially, andwhen it does show up, the people

(28:23):
are gonna then be like, no, we're loyal to him because he's had
this. You don't want people tobe like, well he's never offered that.
Now this guy's offering it. We'regonna go there to get that.
Yeah, so that's good for youguys. People were I mean raving about
it. Well good, I gotsome Mexican food down there, and there's
nowhere. There's nowhere for like,if you wanted to go on a date
with somebody, you're driving to Gilbert. You're driving forty five minutes exactly dinner

(28:45):
unless you want them to eat outthe Mexican food spot. I would take
a special lady to Birds and Bones. Man. Okay, So here's the
whole experience, the vibe, theplan, I mean, it's gonna be
okay. So you're gonna open Areyou gonna have a big grand opening party?
Massive? Massive are going to shutdown their hotels out there? Yes,

(29:10):
because I whisper the whisper in thestreet, unlocked the whisper and say
go they're locking down the street,DJ Beers tables, it's gonna be.
We could get the honeymoon sweet atat the Blue Oyster. You can get
the honey They're like a holiday andout there at least. No, it's

(29:32):
called Golden Tree. No, greenTree. It's called Green Tree, Yo,
and we we it's the nicest. It's a nice hotel. Yeah.
They rant by the hour, likehow many hours that you can rent by
the hour? But the one downthe road is it's nice. How many
hours do you good? Massive party? Good? I look forward to that.

(29:53):
I mean opens, yeah, yes, bro, it's a nice drive.
I'm not doing it again. Wegot we got, we got a
group. I gotta go up thehill, I gotta go down the hill.
I was like, I got tokeep telling him I'm going back,
I'm going back down. How washow was it going through customs? Exactly?
They was like, do you haveI was gonna say something, but

(30:18):
you was gonna edit you. I'llgo say, all right, so you
guys are all dialed. Then youwon? You served? Did you help
Kyle when you went there? No? I was only out there for a
couple of hours. I did.I did drink some of his beers.
I did do that. So youpulled to fill the grill yet oh oh,
but I showed up with ten uhsausage MC muffins. No eggs,

(30:41):
No, because what eggs? Whowants the nasty eggs. Who doesn't you
like the he don't lie. Yougot the sausage ones because they were because
they're cheap right now? No,No, honestly, I don't. I
don't eat the egg Who wants thatnasty egg for McDonald's. Can you see
you seen them frying eggs? Doyou see them? No? You're absolutely
right. You know who else makesthe worst worser eggs? Wor wors Denny's.

(31:10):
Denny has powdered eggs exactly. Thereason why when is the last potential
debty sponsors? Well, the stopserving powdered eggs. Yeah, yeah,
well good. So let's let's talkabout Oh Nascar. Did you see shaking
Baker was here for nascarha? Ohyeah because yeah, no that that Yeah,

(31:33):
they were here. Yeah they werecompete. No, they were here
for NASCAR, just here for Nascarbecause there was something there was there was
something. There was a little barbecuething going on in NASCAR. But it
was like a very close close knitI think actually Smitty got invited to go,
but he competed and Baker yes,and I told I said, I

(31:56):
said, yo, Smith, there'sno way you're gonna go there. And
then go drive to Dallas. Thenext day. He has said, we
threw down. Oh god, itwas rough. I mean it was great
times. So we started setting upon Tuesday, and my first night out
there was Thursday. I had friendsflying from around the country. You did

(32:17):
the morning show out there? Yeah, we did our show out there Friday
morning. What I can do toget you guys, come do it morning.
We'll see yea. Yeah, countryThunday. Down that block. I
just that's out there. It's overby the prison. Okay, okay,
got it. So we went andwe basically just uh went on Tuesday or

(32:38):
excuse we went out. Thursday wasthe first night. Went to dinner.
We actually went to dinner in LitchfieldPark. I thought of you, I
met I met some friends because oneof the race teams stays at the Wigwam.
So we went to Old Pueblo, went Old Pueblo and had uh had
dinner, I will say, andwe had quite the experience there. I'll

(32:59):
say reunion in that place. Iwill say that they have Mexican foods,
good drinks were cold. So wewalk in and a buddy of mine,
his nickname is Doodoo because his lastname is brown and he's been full of
blank his entire lives to call himDoo Doo. So anyways, Doodoo walks
into the bar and he tries toorder a bush light from the bartender.

(33:21):
She doesn't have bush light, whichthrows him into a tizzy. We drank,
oh exactly, trust me. Wellwe've seeded to drink that place good
and dry. That night got himFriday morning, did the show Friday morning
from camp. We have a ladywho comes by who brings us Bloody Mary's.
He's Bloody Mary. She makes dude, y'all, her recipe could win

(33:42):
a world foods I'm telling you tothe when I say this. She has
a way that she infuses the vodkawith her own custom bloody Mary mix.
Oh wow, I mean these thingsare incredible, so she could probably make
a lot. She probably could,Yeah, probably, I mean she uh

(34:02):
so, I don't. She doesn'tsell it. She just does it like
it's their own, like side hobby. She does. And she she's known
as the Bloody Mary Lady out atNASCAR, I mean, and she she
brings them in. Dude, itcrushes. I mean, I am I
like Bluddy Mary's, but like Iknow those people who are not bloody Mary
fans. I'm like, just tryit. They're like, yeah, oh
my god, this seems incredible.Yeah, it's awesome. So we had

(34:22):
that. That was other Friday. That was Friday, and Friday night we
got out. We got on thegas pretty good. Friday night not too
horrible, but we definitely got onthe throttle. But Saturday, let me
explain to you. Saturday. Letme explain to you Saturday. So Saturday
morning, Saturdays is the day whereeverybody comes. Friday is kind of a
yeah good. But Saturdays, wheneverybody comes, we get race teams that

(34:45):
show up, like we had probablyhad about eighty people come roll through.
Did you have to cook for thesepeople? Yeah? So I do.
Four. I get up at likefive am, hungover as a beast,
cook four big old pork shoulders. We did mac and cheese, We did
beans, we did salad. Putit all out. I mean, good
looking spread, shape, picture rightnow, good looking spread, but the

(35:07):
drink. So I was up atfive am. Only pulled his photo of
the spread here. See it's Ihad a little spread for me being an
amateur. Oh nice, nice.So we threw down on Friday versus is
Saturday. I'm up at five am, and I'm just I'm cooking. Also,
my buddy taps me on the shoulderand I'm like what. I look
at him and he's already drinking Atfive am. I'm like, oh,

(35:29):
boy, dude, I'm the throttle. By nine am, when everybody was
kind of getting up and getting rollingwe started breakfast back or about eight,
he was already sauce. I meanhe was drinking every beer he had.
He had a drink, had aglass of moonshine with as well. So
this dude proceeds to get just rottledup three o'clock, everybody shows up.

(35:54):
He makes it about four o'clock. In between the hours of three and four
o'clock, he f two bottles offireball himself. That's yeah. Well,
let me tell you what. Heproceeds to start getting sick. I'm sure
we have to put him like inhis own little secondary in his trash can,
so we get his puke, hisguts out, pass out. He
gets alcohol poison. He didn't likeneed to go to the hospital. He

(36:19):
probably should have, but that nightwe were counted up. That night we
went through over seven hundred beers.Seven hundred beers, Yes, hust Brewing
brought out a ton of them.We drank those. It was hust Brewing
Coors Lights. I mean we wentthrough over seven hundred beers on Saturday night
alone. I mean you got tofigure we had between seventy seventy eighty people.

(36:40):
Oh yeah, but race that wasn'tstart till two o'clock. You guys
go to the races. Oh yeah, of course, So then that's what
I added even more to it.So going to the race, actually my
buddy ended up winning, which wasgreat to be there for that. It
was awesome. But Saturday with Sundaymorning though, it was like the Walking
Dead, just zombies of people, just like shells of humans walking around.

(37:04):
I was like, oh, thisis brutal. But now we had a
great time. It was awesome. It's always a good time. I didn't
think it was interesting though, itwas interesting to see the amount of people
that have bought smokers. And we'renot going to bash a brand. I'm
gonna leave that brand out. Butif you can read between the lines here,
I hope you can't. Who inthe previous years have bought a brand

(37:29):
that has sold at Costco, whonow have went out and purchased other brands
because the brands that they purchased atcostco the dang thing doesn't work anymore.
And people were like, why didmine break? I don't use it that
a few times and I'm like,well, there's a reason why. I

(37:50):
was like, it was just interesting. But then Jason Baker rolled through Saturday
night with Green Mountains. It wasgreat to see him, and it was
also great to see people who hadquestions of why their smokers broke go to
him and Jason was like, letme tell you I have a new product
coming out. That was great. So it was great to see Jason get
to talk about his product out theresome but it was awesome. Did you
have any of his gmgs out there? He he did, but I didn't.

(38:14):
He didn't. He didn't pull itout because when he got there was
a little bit later. He wasjust more or less just talking word of
mouth about it. But here wasthe coolest thing about all. They didn't
ask her this year. So there'slike seven thousand campers, eight thousand campers
that they put out there. Youfigure you got four to six people,
We got fifty thousand people camping. They built a grocery store in the middle
of the campground. The built Theybuilt a Walmart inside the camp ground.

(38:38):
And this Walmart was legit. Itwasn't big as a full size everything Walmart.
No Walmart prices. Wow, youcould get a thirty rack for nineteen
bucks. You could go in thereand be like, oh, you want
to get some vegetables. Yeah,we made pork fright, but it was
great. We made pork fried rice, so we always do on Saturday night.

(38:59):
And my buddy said that the frozenvegetables seemed like the frozen vegetables,
so he went and got some salaryand some red peppers and cut them all
up and so that I was like, that's up there. I mean,
they had a meat section, theyhad everything, which is a smaller condensed
version. But dude, it wasinsane to see this, and I thought
to myself, I was like,there's a there's a there's a market for

(39:19):
that of doing a traveling grocery storesomething like that and going to American Royal
and setting that up and being likeboom, we're here with this. You
know, we're going to big festivals, going to imagine one of those a
country thunder. You know, howmany times, how many times like that,
but there's something very there's a market, but they're always they're always marked

(39:44):
up. This was a Walmart anddo this Walmart because we weren't camp very
far from there all the time, they was semis backing and dropping stuff off.
And I was like, dude, they are selling so much or because
their price bag of ice seven poundbag ice was a dollar thirty nine waiting
gold out there, Dude, you'regoing through ice like I was going to
stop a thirty nine selling it.I was like they had everything that you

(40:06):
could want at Walmart prices, andI was like that is legit. Yeah,
I mean yeah, because I meanthink about it, right, I
mean, I know Nascar is waybigger than like the Royal, but when
you're in those type of events, you locked in. You're locked in.
Yeah, you're coming locked in.You can't. Can we prepare and bring

(40:27):
out everything? But we still havethings were I don't have the accessibility.
Oh you know, my biggest thingis food. Yes, someone a food
truck like a French fry yo foodfood. And how many how many times
bro we were at look, wewere we were at the American Royal and
we were you know, delayed, right, butday on Sunday. But I

(40:47):
was trying to drop a pin forDomino's drop every and it was Sunday night
and everything. I could have probablysold pizza pods for like fifty dollars a
pop. That's kind of what thiswas. So for example, they had
a frozen food section that had frozenpizzas in it. Yeah, granted we

(41:09):
had so much stuff, but theamount of people you saw come walking out
with a couple of yours, Iwas like, again, I was like
they thought of stuff. You know, the one thing I thought that I
was great that they had. Again, they they you really used their brain.
You know, like when you parkin RVY, you need those little
orange lego leveling blocks. Yes,they had they sold those. Wow.
See so you're like, crap,I need these. Walk in there boom.

(41:30):
They sold leveling blocks, they soldgas cans, they sold everything from
like you know, obviously camping stuff. But I mean you'd go down the
aisle and you're like, okay,uh I got upset stomach. You know,
they had pepto. They had allthat stuff that you would need out
there. I literally I think myself, I was like, there is a
market for this if you although theyagain, they had pd like, they

(41:54):
had gator rades. They had allthese different things that you're like they did.
I thought it. I was like, there is a market for this,
whether or I did'say a semi trailerthat you pull that folds out into
like a store, or you buildthese things places like dude, this would
crush because the amount of stuff theysold was wild. And again, they

(42:15):
didn't gouge you, And that waswhat It's funny the not gouging words spread
so fast because when I saw itset up up there, I was like,
oh, god, right, whatever. My neighbor I don't really know
out there, comes by, comeswalking by and he's got three thirty racks
and looks at me and goes,do they're nineteen bucks up there? And
I was like what he said,Yeah, they're not gouging you. I'm
like, no way, which causedme to walk in there and be like,

(42:37):
holy cow, they're not. AndI was like they had a line
out the door every day. That'spart. Also, they had it fast.
They took credit cards, they didit was just flawless. So that
was a cool thing. I waslike, wow, this was great.
But I mean we served it upand we had a big old feast.
I'll yesterday was I was a zombieyesterday. I know I'm better to better

(42:58):
today. But I have the Ihave one of these chairs. I've had
it for like ten years. It'slike a it's like a chair that you
sit in, but it folds allthe way back. What are those called,
Yeah, the zero gravity chair.Gravity chair. I've had it for
like and he's zero gravity. I'mit's literally probably one it's probably it's probably
ten and eleven o'clock. Food's on, you know, everything's prepped. Now
I can get a couple hours ofsleep before I have to get up,

(43:20):
wrap the food and everything. SoI go to I'm going to bed,
laid down. I snapped the wholefreaking chair, bro and like when you're
in a dead sleep, chair snapsMy heads against the ground feeder in the
air, and I'm like, likeyou have to just sit there as my
feet are in the air, andI'm just like looking around like what just
happened? And I like roll outof my chair and I'm looking I'm sleeping

(43:43):
in the restaurant. I'm looking atthe thing and it's all broke. I'm
like, screw it. So oneam, I was up, wrapped the
meats, did my whole setup.Just chill bro, watch TV, relaxed
in my boxers. But uh yeah, dude, I was dead tired after
I got I can imagine slammed it, which is good. It's good that
it's good to see that people areexcited for you guys to come. Yeah.

(44:05):
Yeah, that's awesome. And Imean because I'll give you example,
like it's it's glad to see there'sa buzz about it because they're opening a
Rudy's barbecue by my house. Nobodyreally can nobody cares and something's Rudies.
Yeah, yeah, just like becausethey look at this plaza that it's in
and I'm like, okay, I'msitting here looking at this Rudy's a crossway.
There's a Chick fil A yeah,and then there's a salad exout,

(44:27):
and then there's this, and there'sthis, there's this, and there's this
way, there's this. I'm like, there's ten things around it, and
I'm like, Rudy's is good.Again, nothing agains Rudies. I'm not
bagging Rudi's at all, but I'mlike, there's just no buzz about this
because there's so many options. Youyou're the only dog in town. And
people out there love the sport, local, love a smart small business.
Yeah, you check all the boxes. So I think you may have lightning

(44:51):
in a bottle here. So foryou, I want I want to I
want to drop a gem that Scottuh gave me in the beginning, Yeah,
that I didn't really pay too muchattention to. I was kind of
going off of a different route, but off of his decision making. He
stands behind it. He told me, he's like, hey, you know,

(45:12):
find a spot, right, finda spot where the rent is less
expensive and you know, grow. And that's kind of like what he did
with the university spot and his firstin the university. That's not a nice
neighborhood. Yeah, and not onlythat, he was the only It wasn't
like you could make up your mindlike, oh, you know what,
the longest the lines along, I'mgonna go court' right. He wasn't.
He wasn't the nicest the neighborhoods. But there's a whole lot of steel yards

(45:38):
and trucking yards, exactly, certainairports, the warehouse stuff around there that
are employant people that are hungry. That okay, great, example, where
this radio station says, yeah, yeah, there's nothing, there's nothing around
here, but you know what weheard about that place coming. We were
one of his very first customers. They were because we just hopped him one
forties screen went down there because itwas like, oh my gosh, there's

(46:00):
a great local news spot. Thatwas I remember going to the first couple
of times. But if you don'thave to wait. And then also the
word got out here was like theway but it was the excitement, right,
So it was the excitement of thenew spot coming. Right. So
when I went downtown, I waslike, Okay, well, at least
I know when I opened my doors, I'm going to have immediate customers because
I'm already in the spot that thatwas there. Then it grew up around

(46:21):
it, right, and then nowyou got choices, You got so many,
you know, different avenues. Butit's funny, and I don't mean
it in a bad way, butit's funny that you know, he was
in project with where Honey Bears wason Central and he pulled out right because
when he talked about the loan costsand everything going up, and that was

(46:44):
the problem, part of the problemwhy I closed down because after my landlord
was hit me with property tax andthis was going up and my cams were
going up, and I'm like, bro, I can't afford this, especially
with all of the different meat pricesand the labor courts and all this stuff.
So you're in a great spot.You own. You're in a smaller
town to where people are gonna supportyou. The buzz is great. So

(47:06):
I mean you're following the blueprint. You have nothing but success until I buy
the building two doors. Now,I hope you do, Seck, but
no, I think he definitely gota good thing going, which is good
for you. All Right, Sowe're gonna wrap this up today. What
you guys got coming? I knowyou got World Foods this week? Your
World Foods. Come on, guys, you know, come yo. We'll

(47:28):
send me positive, send me positive. I got a question, bro,
what are you doing Sunday? Yougot you got positive? We'll have a
conversation. So check us out. There's a butcher shop in Phoenix. Yeah,
they won't carry They've been dodging meon carrying my rubs, right.
Yeah. So they're hosting a statecontest. Not a not a, not
an s c A, nothing likethat. Just a regular store. C

(47:51):
A. They're gonna provide everybody withtomahawks. Wow. And you gotta,
you know, make it look good, presented to judge. Just do a
little song and dance. It's themiddle of the hood. Yeah, I'm
thinking about doing it. Bro Sunday. Yeah, it's on a Sunday.
Where's the cook of steak? It'slike forty third in Indian school. Oh
okay, okay, bring a grilland bring a gun. You have,

(48:22):
Phil, Yeah, take your damntimeline. Yes, take it to your
Yes, I will, and comefocused. Don't talk to your neighbors.
I don't care who your neighbors.Don't drink. No, I'm gonna be
chilling the drinks. I'm gonna beI'm gonna kitchen the but wise. Yeah,
if you had those barro that'll cheatthe but wise and not the butt
light ones. But the butt wisethose are pretty. I was, I

(48:44):
was, I was questioning it toI can have one. I was like,
Okay, have one of those relaxedcrappy beer. Get one crappy beer
that happens at seven o'clock. Gotyou seven on your all right, let's
do it, all right, doit? Go do it? Phil Thank
