Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to EDM Venue, a podcast for all of
the EDM lovers and headbangers out there.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
In this podcast, you will find interviews with your favorite artists.
Here we go. All right, this is so.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
I'm here with WID ninety five five iHeartRadio, and we're
here at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
We're with crank that. How's it going.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
I'm doing great? How are you?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I'm doing well? I mean we're here in Miami. What's
better than that?

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Can't be Miami, man, you can't.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
You can't.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
And if I'm right, I think this is your third
time plane number two. All right, all right, so then
let's see tonight. You're on seven thirty PM worldwide. That's
a that is a hell of a stage.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
I've been watching that stage since I was fourteen years
old on the Ultra live stream, so I'm very familiar
with what kind of a stage it is. So only
a little bit nervous, not that nervous, just a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah. Yeah, that that one is a fun one. Everyone
goes crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
And then, uh, you recently had a big single come out,
Whiplash with Sophie.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I mean that was like that was
another one.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
It's actually really ironic because that was one of my
favorite songs back when I was like discovering Ultra Music
Festival and you know, being in tune with the live
stream and all that stuff. One of my favorite songs
with Sophie Needs a Ladder, her song with Dead Mouse.
Ironically enough, ten years later, here we are. We just
finished our song and put it out. It's it's actually
really cool, really full circle.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
And do you play on catching Dead Mouse tonight?

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Hell yeah, that's been the plan the whole time.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
And you could curage. Don't worry about that, Okay, yeah fuck.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah, were absolutely are. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
We uh you know, ironically enough, our bigger priority when
it comes to the festival. Obviously we have to do
our set, but we have to do a set every weekend.
We're like, who do we want to go see? It's
like we're going to Dead Mouse, We're going to Scrilliks
or staying for head X. We're having a great time today.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Hey, you're gonna You're going to all the right ones.
Sorry it sounds like it. And uh, let's see. Recently
you had the Big Remix. It's a remix of a
remix of Allennium's Taylors with Antihero.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
So I actually I did that one original.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Well, I did an original remix of the Anti Hero
song that was I can't remember who did their first
Whither he did his or I did mine, doesn't matter,
but regardless, Yeah, I remixed the anti Hero song. It
was really cool. It was a really cool moment for
the project. And then we turned that into you know
STFU and you know kind of did that whole thing
just sick and.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
That blew up on social media.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, it was really cool.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
It's become kind of a weird little bass anthem, which
is you know, nice, it's it's a it's a weird phenomenon.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
We hear it all the time, you know.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Sometimes even we'll have like the DJs that'll play before
me opening at shows. They'll they'll drop the sound bite
and I'm like, wait a minute, I know that one.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yeah, that's gotta be you know, kind of special.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Though.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
When you hear your sound going, you know, worldwide, it's
really cool.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
It's really really cool.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
And let's see, how has TikTok helped you in your career?

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Oh man, well it's kind of made my career. If
I'm being honest with you. You know, I've been fortunate
enough to do this for a very long time. I've
been professionally touring since twenty seventeen. You know, obviously that
came to a halt during COVID times around twenty twenty
and twenty twenty one, just like everybody else, right, But
coming back out of that, you know, it was a
year and a half where a lot of DJs either
had their momentum completely stunted or you know, accelerated.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
For me, it was stunted.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
You know, I had my peak moments in my career
in seventeen and eighteen, and then COVID, you know kind
of you know, allowed my downward momentum to really go
and accelerate further downward. And what kind of what vehicle
that I used to be able to give myself a
second chance was TikTok. So I'm forever grateful for the platform.
I would do remix videos and stuff like that. I'm

(03:33):
sure people that are watching this probably are familiar some
of them at least, but yeah, we would do stuff
on TikTok all the time. I still do stuff on
TikTok all the time. I'm super grateful for the platform.
It gives a really unique voice to artists, and I'm
I'm grateful for my opportunity that has given me.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
And let me ask you this, what did you do
those What was it forty eight hours that TikTok was banned?

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Interestingly enough, we were on a plane home from Thailand,
so I did nothing. I was on a plane and
I didn't no shit. It was actually funny because we
heard that it was gonna go away when we took off,
and then by the time we went it was back.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
I was back, all right. Didn't miss much.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, yeah, that's true. That's funny. That's a that's a
unique though, because you didn't miss much at all. And
then you work with some big time rappers. Let's say
Juicy J was.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
One of them, Yes, sir, Yeah, how was that experience?

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Oh? Surreal? I mean another one.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I've been listening to Juicy J since I was a
little guy, so you know, I I love his music.
I've loved his music for a very long time. Getting
the opportunity to work with him was bucket list. But
you know, we're working with him. We actually had him
out to one of our shows too, and he was
the nicest guy who was super humble. Was crazy because he's, like,
you know, obviously he's a veteran. He's been doing this

(04:41):
for like two almost three decades, you know, so you
really can't stack up against that. But he was super
humble and you know, just available to us, and it
was really really cool and it was great experience all around.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Oh that's good to hear. That's good to hear.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
I'm sure he was a blast to work with. So
we got some big events coming up. I know you
have bona U.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yeah, the Farm Baby.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Are you doing that three sixty new stage that they're having?

Speaker 4 (05:07):
I don't If I'm gonna be completely honest, I don't know.
I know the name of the stage we're playing, but
I don't know what they have production wise that I know.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
They just spelled a new three sixty stage that they're having.
All the DJs go do.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
That's what I've heard. That would be fitting, wouldn't it.
I guess we'll find out. Huh, all right?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
All right? And then etc.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Vegas. Yeah, DC is always gonna be a big one.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
We have a solo set this year as well as
a back to back with tape B, So that's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
It's gonna be a really fun weekend, all right.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yeah tape he's exploring too, just like you.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah, he's the man, He's the man. He's great.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Is there some of you guys working on together soon?

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Yeah? We actually got a couple going on now, which
is really cool.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Uh. Yeah, we're we're we're trying to get that back
to back to be super special. So we're working on
some original stuff and some remixes.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
And all that.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
So oh, there we go that those will be heat.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
And uh, let me ask you this, what do you
love about Ultra Everything?

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Dude?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
I've been watching this festival's live stream since I was
a kid. You know, It's it's really it's kind of
the DM staple that I grew up on. You know,
back in the day. We would sit in my parents'
basement and put it on the TV and we would
watch a Vichi and Tiesta and David Getta and Afrojack
and all those guys, and you know, for me, it's
kind of been. It's honestly been a really important anchor

(06:16):
in my career too, because I even had advances in
my career with stuff like in twenty sixteen, The Chainsmokers
opened their Ultra set at the Worldwide Stage with my
song with Lucas, which is called Game Over. So it's
actually really surreal to like be here now. But Ultra
has been like one of the most important festivals for
me personally.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Like ever, Well, that's good to hear.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Ultra is big for a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yeah, as it should be.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Oh yeah, name one artists here that you wish you
could work with?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
That's that Ultra.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, I'm gonna give the same answer I gave in
the last interview skrillics.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Oh I bet, I bet? And what do you love
about Miami Music Week the most?

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Uh? What do I love about it? Getting to see
all my friends, getting to see a lot of artists
that I want to see perform. Can I answer what
I hate about it?

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Sure, let's go with that one too.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
I don't get to fucking go to bed.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Oh yeah, I feel I understand that one. I feel
like everyone here knows that.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Yeah, very well. Yeah all right.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
And uh, let's see you have altro tomorrow night.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Yes, sir, back to back with uh I'm not allowed
to say yet you'll find out.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Oh yeah, now yet now yet? Well maybe you could
because this won't come out yet, so.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
If it comes out later, back to back with Sullivan King.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
So that's special. That's special. And uh, do you have
any other big announcements that you want to give us?

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Uh, honestly right now, No, we're kind of dried out
on big announcements. I mean, everything kind of just happened
within the last month or so.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
You know. We we did our song, we.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Did Whiplash, we announced CDC and the back to back
with Ta B. There's other stuff in the pipeline, but
it's not quite time yet. So just know that I'm
happy to be here. And of course we got shit
coming up.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
That's good to hear. Always good stuff coming from you.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Always, thank you so much. I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (07:51):

on YouTube, you can find them on Spotify. What else
