One Legendary DJ whose set was postponed due to the rain was Hardwell. Having played on the Ultra Main Stage a handful of times, Hardwell was a set many attendees came to Ultra Music Festival to see. I had the pleasure of interviewing Hardwell 2 hours before he was supposed to go on stage and he mentioned that he’s been working on this Ultra set for the past 3 months.

Ultimately, Ultra Music Festival managed to rescheduled Hardwell to play a Sunset set on the Main Stage on Saturday Evening.

artists. Here we go. Thisis Dobek Wadnie five five iHeartMedia and we're

(00:31):
live at Ultra Music Festival and we'rewith Hardwell. How is it going,
Hardwell, I'm good, it's almosttime. A little nervous like always,
but like in a good way.I'm really excited. That's good to hear.
That's good to hear. I believelast time I crown you the king
of Ultra on the main stage. This is your ninth time here, the
tent tenth year. Oh ten ten, we are at ten. Now that's

(00:55):
a that's a big number. It'sa really big number, like ten times
main stage. I don't know, like been closing for three four times.
Second to close tonight, it's gonnabe a really really good night, like
one hundred percent sure, oh forsure, for sure. Last year you
took over the place you had mainstage, and then you also had a
side stage takeover. This year you'rejust even taken with the main stage again.

(01:17):
That's that's how you do. Yeah, I'm really excited back on the
main stage. Perfect slot I mentionedalready in an audio interview, but it's
raining, but let me be thethunder of the night. Hey, I
like that. I like that forsure. Right after the last Ultra,
you released Acid with Maydox. How'sthat been? Crazy? Like, I
think it's close to twenty million streamsalready on Spotify and I'm gonna play it

(01:40):
tonight as well. With a lotof new music as well from the label.
Revealed the new collab with Blast Rejectsand Medics, a new clib with
Army of Him Buren tonight here atUltra, a new Sodo track I've never
played before. So yeah, prepareyourself for a lot of new music.
And speaking of Maddox, I thinkhe's currently going on stage right about now.
Yeah, right, but now wejust said like goodbye. He's on

(02:00):
the way to the State of trandstage and yeah, I'm really happy he's
here tonight and finally he's getting therecognition like he's my boy, and I'm
super proud of him. That's goodhere, I'm proud as I mean,
I'm sure being under your record label, that's that's great to say. Yeah,
he's been on my label for Idon't know even like five six,
seven years already I lost count. But you know, he's one of the

(02:21):
most talented guys I've ever met. He's so humble, so down to earth,
and I can't even describe as talent. This guy is sending me every
week new demos and every single oneis crazy. So yeah, I'm really
proud of him. He's filing gettingthe recognition he deserves. That's good.
Here, what does Harblle have plannedfor twenty twenty four? Twenty twenty four?
Like after my Sobella Call, I'mnot doing that many shows, but
I'm still like playing all the majorfestivals. I'm here Ultra. We're gonna

(02:46):
close Tomorrowland again, actually playing asecond weekend on Tomorrowland as well, all
the major festivals in Europe from Creamfields, I don't know which one I can
mention, but I'm gonna be likebasically every festival in Europe and a lot
of new music, especially with thelate revealed. So yeah, besides that,
I'm not DJing that much anymore.I'm working constantly on reviewed, pushing

(03:06):
the guys, working on new greatmusic, guiding all the artists, and
it's going really really well, it'slike for me, it's a perfect balance
right now, I mean pushing theyoung ones up. That's great to say.
That's you know, I happy youtold me. You just said like
the king of Ultra. But Iwant to create like a ton of new
kings as well, you know. And I'm always like a guy that always

(03:27):
tried to share my experience and sharemy knowledge about music. And that's why
I revealed it's like the perfect liketalent pool for creating new music and creating
new talent. And you recently releasedthe single Energy with bass Shackers. How
that wan come about? Yes,that's actually quite a story because Marlon and
Ralph, the guys from Base Jackers, we know each other for over well,
I think fifteen years already, andwe've never been in the studio together,

(03:52):
just party and have fun and maybea little bit too much of a
party. But we finally managed togo in the studio together and make a
track. And this is the firsttime we actually managed to create a track
that I'm like one hundred percent satisfiedwith. It's I think it's a perfect
combination between their sound and my newsound, and yeah, it works really
well on the set it's crazy howthat track goes off. It goes off,

(04:14):
for sure. You just said it. Yesterday we had some big news
announced you with your collaboration with Apple. Let me hear about that from the
guy himself. It's quite a bigdeal collaborating with Apple. Like it's fair
to say it's the biggest brand inthe world. So I'm really honored to
work with Apple. We worked onit for like over like a year and
a half. And for people whodon't know, I released my own producer

(04:38):
back on Logic Pro and on garagebands, iPad and iOS and desktop as
well. It's everywhere. It's everywhere, and as a guy that really loves
making music, I think this isthe perfect pack if it comes to creating
your own sounds. If you're like, it's funny because a lot of music
production music production guides and packs arereally based on pop and rock music,

(05:02):
and it wasn't like I don't saylike, there wasn't the pack for EEDM,
but never like a proper pack ofsounds that I actually use. My
kick rooms are in there, mypre sets are in there. Everything you're
your wish for in a hardware packis there. You can tweak it to
your own liking. And I'm reallyreally like really honored that Apple wanted to
work with me on this project.I'm an all time logic lover and logic

(05:25):
user myself. I produced in logicfor since I was like fourteen, So
yeah, I'm really happy that wefinally have a collaboration. And no,
you have finally you have access toall my sounds and pre sets and it's
authentic. It's all you actually.Yeah, Actually, everything that's on my
album Rebel Never Die, all thepresets, the base lines, since the
kick drums, the high ast, whatever you call it, it's in there.
Like everything is in there, actuallythe bounces of the project. So

(05:46):
no recreations, no bs, it'severything is in there, all right,
all right, No, that's coolto hear for especially you know new producers
coming out there, you know.I I well, I can I really
can't wait till I hear something thatsomebody creates with the back and I want
to hear a truck that I canplay out in my sets. That that
would be like amazing. You hearthat right now? Make some new tracks,

(06:08):
the new sounds out there. Iwait, like I can't wait to
hear what you guys come up withYeah, that's a big that's big though,
with a new producer pack for surewith Apple. Let's talk new music.
What do we have planning for thissummer? For this summer, well,
I'm doing a lot of festivals Imentioned, and besides that, like
I'm gonna release side by side,I have a new collaboration with Avau,
a new collaboration with Army van Burenthat's coming up. And yeah, make

(06:31):
sure you watch the live stream becauseall the new music is gonna be in
there tonight. Oh yeah, wegot over an hour in the live stream
we leave tonight. Yes, it'sactually this is the first time that I
play seventy five minutes. It's normallyI play like sixty minutes on Ultra,
and tonight I'm seventy five. Sothey know you're the king. I'm ready,
thank you? All right. Idon't want to hold you up too

(06:54):
much longer because I know you haveabout two hours and not even toil your
on set, right, Yeah,I want to hour and a half hour
and a half. The nerves now, there's no nerves probably Now I have
a just under question, if youwere to go out tonight for a fun
night and you had to bring threeDJs with you. Who would you bring?
Oh, my brother Tiesto. It'salways a good choice. Will Maddox

(07:18):
is here, Definitely Maddix. Ilove to get him drunk. That's the
best. He's the best drunkie guy. I know the third one that's a
good one, probably John Summit.Oh, he's a party guy. He's
a party guy. Here you go. We partied at his party at a
factory. Amazing guy. I lovehim. Zach Clapp coming soon. Possibly,
we just texted about it, sowho knows. Hey here here first
