Speaker 1 (00:00):
Peyton High look sitting here in the studio with me, Peyton,
how you doing? Are you on mountain dew or anything
like that?
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Celsius in me, I'm a chronic Celsius guy.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Celsius. Yeah, that's right. Cafe caffeine is good. Yeah, you
can't tell me otherwise, although a mountain dew of forty
four ounces a day definitely not something that's good for you.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
What is your favorite method of drinking mountain dew? Bottle can,
fountain soda?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Oh, it's definitely fountain soda. Is anything not better in
fountain soda?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
And you got it in the stier foam cup? That
way better?
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yeah, I know, I don't know anybody who likes the
plastic cups better than the styrofoam cups. But anyway, yeah,
I think beer is better out of draft and soda
is better out of a fountain. Simple man. It could
be wrong, you know, like maybe you always run the
risk of the draft getting tapped or something, and now
(00:59):
all of a sudden you have to wait for a
new cake to be put in so that there's a
parel and sometimes it gets a little wonky, maybe with
the amount of CO two that's in the beer, and
maybe it tastes a little bit funny, but it's a risk.
I like to run because there's nothing quite like a
draft beer in a nice frosty mug, just like there's
(01:20):
nothing better than a good fountain soda in a styrofoam cut,
even if it's not super healthy. You know, I think
you nailed it. Yeah, yeah, And if you have a
different opinion, that's cool, that's fine. There's a reason they
have cans and bottles of stuff, you know, so knock
yourself out. I don't have like a tap for beer
at my house, so you know, usually a can guy.
(01:42):
But I pour the can into a glass so like
the it breathes like the beer can breathe. You know,
these are things that you learn as you get older.
You know, you learn to appreciate these things. You know.
I'm a night album most of the time. Most of
the time. You know what I do. I go out
(02:06):
of my way as a human to try to make
my wife happy first and foremost, make sure my dogs
are taken care of. But I watch what I want
to watch. You know what I watched. I didn't app today.
In between my two shows. Sometimes I get a little
power nap in. I didn't do that. Today. I went
(02:27):
shopping got some bird seed. There was a birthday. It's
my birthday month, so I was able to go get
a free bag of bird seed for my birds that
I have in my yard.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
It's like getting a free drink at a Starbucks, but yeah,
bird seed, except as for birds.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah, instead of getting a coffee, I am able to
watch cardinals and blue jays and nut hatches come to
my tit mice. You know, I'm a big fan of
the nut hatches and mice, and you know, I just
I just love watching the birds, you know, like they
(03:05):
call them, they come and they eat and then did
they just they enjoyed the seat. I enjoy watching them
come and eat the seed. Right, So I went and
did that, and then I went to my shoe store
where I buy my running shoes, and I had like
a ten dollars certificate, which really kind of irked me
because I didn't know I was going to get that
and I just bought new running shoes last month. It's
(03:29):
like I would have loved to like redeem this ten
dollars coupon for the for my new shoes would have
been nice. So what I ended up doing was I
I got this cryo massager. Have you ever seen one
of those?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
To help you with your pickleball legs, your pickleball soreness.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
It's not always pickleball, your hiking soreness, hiking and tennis.
Sometimes I do something like, you know, rock climbing or something.
Sometimes pickleball. Last time I did play pickaball Run Club,
you know I go on runs. Yeah, But this thing
is like it's got a like a rubber handle and
(04:06):
it's like it's like a stainless steel metal head on
the top of it that rolls, and it's like you
freeze it and then you pull it out of the
freezer and it stays cold, like icy cold for like
an hour, and then you use it on your skin
to like iron out your muscles that are sore. And
there's like studies that are done that you know, it
(04:28):
gives you the benefit of ice, so it reduces swelling,
but it also gives you the benefit like of those
cryogenic chambers, except it's like massaging out like your shoulders,
your back, your hamstrings, your quads, your calves, that kind
of thing. And I was just like, thing's pretty cheap.
I'll use my cupe pont to buy this thing. It purchase,
(04:50):
you know, and oh does crossfits you can use it
for that? It got that going on, and then I
sit and you know what I did after I got
done with that. I watched a d Australian rules football game, which,
by the way, is the best sport in the world.
I'm pro American. I love everything America. You know, I
love America. The best sport in the world is Australian
(05:13):
rules football and nothing else really can't compete with it.
For it like Baseball's close in a lot of ways,
but it's missing a couple of the main things that
make Australian football just so great. The need to check
that out.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
I'm not familiar.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Not many are.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
It's a secret, but as a sport enthusiast, I feel
like i'd be interested.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, there's not many sports. Well, I'm saying all this
because I'd rather watch Australian football than watch anything Jimmy
Kimmel related. And I have an entire list of the
stuff of the stations that Jimmy Kimmel is not going
to be on tonight, for whatever it's worth. Because Sinclair
and Next Star both have said we're preempting him tonight.
We're not ready for him to come back, so there
is still a war to be waged. But before I
get to Kimmel, Okay, so you want a quick synopsis
(05:59):
of why Allia football is the best?
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Name is sport that you really like? I'm a soccer guy.
I mean, can we go there?
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Yes, of course soccer. What's the best part about soccer?
What would you say, like, what would be appealing about
soccer for a casual person who'd be interested in sports?
Speaker 2 (06:18):
You know, it's just like when you have eleven players
on an American football field, you have eleven people doing
a job and each job is just as important as
the next.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
And it's free flowing. It's free flowing. It never stops, yes,
you know, like for ninety plus minutes. Yeah, there might
be stoppages in play, but the clock doesn't stop. There's
no commercial breaks during each half. I mean, like, if
you know what you're looking for, there's a lot of
entertainment there, and a lot of people are mad because
there's not enough scoring and they're just passing it around,
so like they're trying to work the ball into certain
(06:48):
areas to give themselves opportunities to score and then you
have to appreciate the defense and all that stuff. Right,
same rules apply for Australian rules. Football is free flowing.
They play four quarters twenty minute quarters in it never stops.
There's no commercial breaks in between scores. There's no commercial
breaks in between anything. It is just free flowing for
four quarters. The only commercial breaks are in between quarters
(07:08):
and during halftime. Another great sport is basketball. It has
some elements of basketball. You have to have some size.
Guys who are tall have different jobs, but it gives
you the ability to catch the ball and have free
kicks a lot more frequently. Tall guys have a lot
of roles to play as well as guys who can jump.
You need to have that level of athleticism like a
(07:31):
basketball player does. Football. American football contact, baby. We love hits,
we love tackles, we love people trying to force fumbles,
we love people trying to intercept passes. Like some of
that stuff. All of that applies in Australian football. There's
a ton of contact, a ton of bumping in a
(07:53):
ton of physicality. It's very manly. Women play Australian football too,
But a guy would watch this is like, oh this
is a tough man's sport. It's like rugby in a
way because they're not wearing pats. Nobody's got pads out there.
They're just running around padless while taking all these hits
and trying to do all this with the Australian football
(08:14):
or a footy as they call it. And then on
top of that, right, the amount of skill that it
takes for you to be able to score and the passion.
I mean, Australian football is a massive sport in Australia
and it is to that locale. But there are Australian
football teams here in the United States. They are semi pro,
(08:34):
just like you know your rec league, you know, flight
football teams or softball teams and stuff. Except there's a
league called the United States Australian Football League. And I
actually messed around practiced with the team based in the Point. Now,
there's not a local team here that I know of
in the Omaha area, but Kansas City has won. There's
Denver's got a good one, Minnesota's got another good one.
(08:54):
A lot of the big cities have teams. You should
watch it. The problem is it's only on when we're
basically asleep. But if you have VVR capabilities. It's usually
on f S one or f S two and also
Fox Soccer Plus if you have that channel and I
DVR all the games and then I watched them when
I'm awake.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Yeah, and you can record them in you're awake. I
mean you you tapped into maybe the best characteristic of
each sport. I mean, come on, now, you know you
talked about the physicality, the athleticism.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
It's amazing. The fluidity. I mean, I'll come to my
place at some point, I will give you a collision
course because guess what's happening very soon the Grand Final,
the championship match Australian football. So it's like best of
the best, all the pageantry happening and uhleating up. Geelong
is gonna take on Brisbane for that, by the way,
(09:46):
and it's going to be a real cracker, as they
say down there in Austria, how to do it? Yeah,
So we'll we'll investigate that all y'all out there.
