Thanks so much for popping on withus. Emery. Nice to meet

it's awesome, Chip. I reallyappreciate getting a chance to chat with
you on the air today. Firstof all, can you tell me about
retire Smart. I talk about retireSmart on there all the time. But
I'd love to hear you talk aboutit too. Yeah. It's a financial
(01:04):
planning firm that focuses, of courseon retirement planning, not just saving up
a big pile of money, butalso medical expenses and legacy and estate planning,
risk management, tax strategies, thewhole package. That's what we offer
it retire Smart. And we doa lot of charitable outreach Emory and of
(01:25):
course that's why I'm with you today. We team up with Kfab and The
Fall as well for a radiothon. But this, of course is the Camp
plus Care and David Brooks, ourfounder and president. He's out of town
today or he'd be on with you, but I have the happy duty of
stepping in for him. But hisheart, his heartstrings are really pulled on
(01:46):
by causes involving children. And ofcourse this is for Emory. Sometimes I
think people get confused. They think, like, you know, it's an
after school program or something for thisis for kids in christ Us at the
Open Door Mission, Lydia House isthe division at Open Door Mission specifically dedicated
(02:07):
to women and children because, ofcourse, unfortunately a lot of times they're
escaping from an abusive male. Sothese are kids in crisis. These are
kids whose daily reality is the chaosand confusion and fear of life at a
homeless shelter. So this is aneffort to give them a normal, positive,
uplifting experience, you know, somethingto break up the pain and the
(02:30):
confusion and the darkness in their livesright now. And it's not just a
summer camp. It goes on asa year round program of hiking and stem
projects, science, technology, engineeringand math products, art and animal therapy.
And so we are very excited toparticipate. Emery everything given this hour,

hopping on. This will be thefirst and many times. I'm sure we'll
chat with each other, and weappreciate you for being on the show today.
Thanks Chip, you, thank you. Can I can I squeeze in
one more point before I go,Emory. It's just that I always kind
of like to tease my fellow conservatives, okay, who say, oh,
there's too much government and too manyprograms. Okay, But then it falls
(04:25):
upon us. I mean, westill have a duty as citizens, especially
those of us who are people offaith. But even if you're not a
religious person, as Americans, we'vegot a duty to look out for each
other. So please, fellow conservatives, step up, be generous. I
heard you last hour, Emory Hey, forty nine bucks. You know you
give fifty bucks, that's the key. You give two hundred bucks. There's
(04:46):
four kids. Well if you givetwo hundred, we're going to match it.
So now we've taken care of eightkids, and a way we go.
Thanks for indulging me, Emory,I appreciate it. Thank you so
much to chat then Dave too.Yeah, absolutely, everybody at hike kandas
Hey, Chip, We're so gratefulfor you guys, and thank you for
your faithfulness, your compassion, formaking a meaningful impact in our community.
(05:08):
You probably heard Emory kickoff the showthat our kids are having dinosaur week.
They've gone putt put golfing, they'vemade dinosaurs, they've gone fossil digging.
So you know, I know forothers that's probably thinking, gosh, isn't
that just everyday kids stuff? Andfor our kids, no, it's actually
I don't know where my next mealis going to come from. I'm hiding
under the bed, I don't I'msleeping in a car. And so we're
(05:30):
trying to make our kids have anormal summer, whatever that normal actually is.
Chip, So thank you so muchfor joining us. Well, I'll
pass that on to David Brooks. He's the real hero of this. Candace,
I'll ask you one thing before Igo. Will you please once again
send us a round of pictures fromthis year's camp. We love seeing those
retire Smart and sharing them with ourclients. Yes, and please, if
(05:54):
you are supporting our camp plus care, we encourage you to actually follow us
also long we'll be posting weekly updates. So if you're sponsoring actually a child
memory they're giving you a name onthe call center of a kid that you're
sponsoring. Incredible and so you canput that name on your fridge, you
can set a plate at your tableand just remember that you're providing for a
child. This summer's super cool.Let's go ahead and talk about the ways
(06:18):
that people can give. Let's justremind people because obviously the forty nine dollars
are friends over at retire Smart arematching this hour. How can people give?
What are the easiest ways people canbe a part of this SATA.
Well, you know you can actuallygive online safely from your mobile device or
your desktop at opendoor mission dot org. You also can give us a call
at four two eight ninety eight, four six seven three or eight nine eight
(06:41):
hope and we have volunteers that arestanding by and they'd love to hear what
was your favorite memory about camp Andthey'd also like to take your gift.
Absolutely easy way to be a partof what we're doing today. Big thanks
to Candace, big thanks to ChipMaxwell and our friends are retire smart for
matching this hour. But again,as Canada said, just forty nine dollars
can provide the camp necessary to helpa child, and that's an open door
(07:03):
mission dot org opendoor mission dot org. Four oh two eight nine eight four
six seven three is the number ifhe'd rather do that. Four oh two
eight nine eight four six seven three. Really cool stuff. We're gonna tep
aside come back three fourteen on yourThursday Thursday. Well, cheers to you,
and I have an update. Ihave learned something new about Hunter Biden
that I didn't know before, andI'm just dying to get it out.
(07:26):
I know maybe some other people knowthis. I didn't until today. Wait,
I have to talk to somebody aboutthis. On news Radio eleven ten
kfab Oh Maurice Sonner on news Radioeleven ten. Kfab, I'm not a
keeping up with the Kardashians kind ofguy. I don't know much about the
personal lives of most celebrities. Itry, and I just don't care,
(07:46):
Like it's not interesting to me.I know there's a market out there for
people who care. I don't.I don't care. So I was a
little stunned to learn about a loveaffair that Hunter had when he was in
between wives he is separating. Heseparates from his wife in twenty fifteen.
It's a tough year for the Bidensbecause it's also the same year that Bo
(08:07):
passes away with his illness. Rightright, Well, Bo was married and
had a widow that he left behind, a wife that he left behind.
It's very sad. Sometime in twentysixteen, Bo's widow and Hunter start dating
and having a romantic relationship. Divorceis finally settled between his original wife and
(08:28):
Hunter in twenty seventeen, and apparentlyshe plays a part. The widow of
Bo plays a part in you know, talking about his life, habits and
the trial here, and that's howwe know that how I learned about this
even though apparently this was public knowledgewhen they were dating. I gotta ask,
is it weird? Is that weird? And does it just feel weird
(08:52):
to me? Your brother dies andthen you leave your wife, and then
like the next girlfriend you have isyour dead brother widow. This is all
going to be a movie someday.Oh and dad's the president. He wasn't
the president then, but you knowwhat I mean, he might have thought
he was. He gets dates confusedsometimes. Remember that time he was talking
(09:16):
about the train conductor. Yeah, that he saw when he was like campaigning
for the presidency. But that specificguy who worked on the train retired in
the early nineties and died ten yearsago. You can't make this stuff up,
folks. But anyway, is thatnot weird? Yeah? I don't
(09:37):
have a brother, so it's likethere's not like an obvious like example that
I can draw to my own life. It sounds to me like a storyline
straight out of a serialized soap opera. Yeah, yeah, soap opera,
right, Like these two people thatare crossing paths with some regularity, right
because they're in laws, But thenone of them dies, the other one
(09:58):
leaves his wife. They separate, and they're just they kind of know each
other and they start making some stuffhappen. They get a little giggy with
it. As Will Smith would say, no, no, no, no,
no, no no. Right? Is that? Am I weird for
thinking it's weird? Is that normalbehavior? Does that something that? Obviously
it's somewhat likely because you already kindof know the person, so I can
(10:24):
understand that, like you're exposed tothat person already and you're both like experiencing
some sort of loss. But justthe idea of like dating your dead brother's
widow, just like that doesn't soundright to me. It sounds strange to
me. Although there have been movies. I think this has been in a
movie or two as well, BrotherCozy's Up to Dead Brother's Woman. And
(10:48):
TV shows too, you know, you make these shows last long enough and
everybody's dating each other at some point. Yeah. Yeah, they think Gray
is anatomy. They're on like thefifteenth different relationship, right, you know,
I don't know. I don't knoweither, what I yeah? So
is this weird? You haven't answermy question? You just keep like you
keep leading me on to like Ididn't know you. I'm asking you specifically,
(11:11):
is this weird. Is this strangebehavior? I think it happens,
and it depends on the context, and I would like to I don't know,
let's sit them down and see howit developed. You know, maybe
it's not weird. Well, obviouslythe behavior was weird because now they're talking
about it in his court case.I'll put it this way. Given the
extracurricular habits that Hunter seems to haveat quite frequent regularity, it's weird to
(11:35):
think of him in the role ofbecause you think, how is this going
to happen? She is torn apartand in deep grief, as anyone would
be, right and does the doesthe comforting caretaker then become the love interest?
Eventually? That's that's the you know, that's what you wonder. But
if the comforting caretaker is smoking crackevery hour, like, how does that
(12:00):
work? I don't know. Maybeshe was into that sort of thing,
you know, like some some womenlike, uh, the bad guy.
Some women like the tough, thetough, ruffled under the imperfect guy.
So he was like George Costanza, bad boy with a leather coat, you
know, like chewing the gum, leaning against his camaro with the with the
with the cuffed pants and she getsto stay in the family. Right,
(12:24):
guy was the vice president, right, Like, you know what helps me
cope smoking crack? And she's like, say no more, give me some
of that. She's like swoon.I mean, if you just google Hunter
(12:46):
Biden dead brother's widow. Uh,the jury has learned how Hayley also got
hooked on crack. Oh no,so that that apparently happened. Oh no,
yeah, so, oh my goodness, gracious, dang it, Hunter
(13:09):
he got her on it too.No, not Haley Halle? Is it
Halle or Haley? I think?Boy, that escalated quickly. Yeah,
so uh yeah, it's sad.So they but they're but they're basically I
mean, this is they're trying tothey're trying to help people understand on the
(13:31):
jury his behavioral habits. And you'repicking me up on this. Yeah,
I'm looking her up. She's fiftyyears old now, so she obviously survived.
Her mother was a childhood friend ofJoe Biden, so she's been hanging
around for a long time. Soshe's married to Bo Biden from two thousand
(13:54):
and two until he passes away intwenty fifteen, and then like later in
twenty fifteen and into twenty sixteen, they start chatting and according to Wikipedia,
at least she was dating Hunter Bidenfor three years and apparently yeah, they
were really ended their relationship. Aschool, the Key School, filed a
(14:15):
lawsuit against Talie Biden, stating shefailed to pay tuition for two kids for
the twenty eighteen nineteen school year, and they had to settle the lawsuit out
of court. Gee whiz man,And she got addicted to crack. Wasn't
it Lawrence Taylor who said, andgentlemen, that brings me to my next
point, don't smoke crack. TheBidens were not listening that day. That
(14:37):
was the water boy. There's awater boy. Ah, So yeah,
there you go. I don't know, maybe somebody else can help me with
this because my head, my headhurts trying to think of the family tree
after that. So, like, what happens if they were to have a
child, are like Hunter's kids nowcousin brothers with the new kid. If
they were to have a kid,is that how that would have worked?
(15:00):
Your cousins and siblings with the samepeople kind of, I'm sure they'd work
all that out. We need theancestry people to get onto this one three
twenty nine. By the way,you can give to our friends that open
door mission. How's that for asegue? KFAB Camp plus Care Radiothon going
on. Go to opendoor Mission dotorg so you can give their opendoor mission
dot org or call four oh twoeight nine eight four six seven three.
(15:22):
That's four oh two eight nine eightfour six seven three. And we got
more on the way on news radioeleven ten KFAB and Maurice Song on news
Radio eleven ten KFAB. This issome wild stuff. Yeah, all right,
we'll get to some of this ina second, but uh, I'm
(15:43):
shook. I am shook reading someof this. But uh, while we're
before we get too deep into that, I want to remind everybody that this
is today is Kfab's Camp plus Careradiothon, and we want you to give
forty nine dollars forty nine bucks. You know, forty nine dollars isn't that
much. You know, I spendforty nine dollars at the bar a lot
of times, you know, atthe restaurant, and instead I could just
be sitting in my house. Givethe forty nine dollars and I can help
(16:07):
a kid have a chance to beat camp. Plus having a safe shelter,
nutritious meals quality care for that childand then stability for their entire family.
I think it goes a lot better. It goes for a long way.
It's like one night out the restaurant, and instead you get a chance
to make a huge difference and makean impact with the young person's life matching
your donations. This hours are friendsthat Retire Smart. Of course, they
(16:30):
are financial advisory firm dedicated to helpingpeople prepare a comprehensive plan that addresses all
the factors that affect quality of lifeand retirement. Sources of income, medical
expenses, advanced planning to accommodate bucketlist items, risk management, tax strategies.
You don't want to just retire, you need to retire smart. With
my friends at Retire Smart, they'rematching up to five thousand dollars this hour.
(16:52):
You can give by calling in atfour oh two eight nine eight four
six seven three eight nine eight foursix seven three. Everybody who's talking to
us right now, And Kennis comesin. She says, man, the
phones keep going on the hook,Just keep at it. Or you can
go online OMAH or opendoor mission dotorg opendoor mission dot org. And you
(17:14):
can give big thanks to Kimberly andPatricia with one gift each. Robin and
Anton both gave for two children, and then Rebecca for five kids, and
that is going to be matched. All those are matched by our friends that
retire smart really awesome stuff. Sokeep giving. We want to make sure
that we give as many children andtheir families the opportunity for them to enjoy
(17:36):
camp plus have that care as possible. Go to opendoor mission dot org or
you can call four oh two eightnine eight four six seven three. All
right, it's three forty one.I gotta I gotta crack open a coldie
for this one. This is crazystuff. This is crazy. So Hallie,
we're going with? Are you goingwith? Halle? It kind of
looks like that, Yeah, Ithink Hallie. If there was only one
(17:57):
L or a y in there,maybe Hayley. But I feeling I'm thinking
Halle's probably right, right, SoHalle Biden Hunter, Biden's ex girlfriend,
who also happens to be the widowof his dead brother, Bo said on
the witness stand, this is onthe witness stand, this is under oath
talked about his uh her brother inlaw and ex boyfriend. That's the same
(18:21):
guy brother in law slash ex boyfriend, and basically said that I mean,
help me with this. How doI say this? Like missed on the
night of October fourteenth and twenty eighteen, this is when. This is around
the time he's buying the handgun. This is October twelfth is when he bought
the handgun. Twenty eighteen that he'syou know, the felony that he's being
(18:42):
charged with. He was texting herand texted her and said he was buying
but that indicated that he was purchasingcrack. Yeah, And then she said
she never personally witnessed him doing thatin twenty eighteen, but knew it was
happening. And then, in atext message on the night of the fourteenth,
(19:03):
which is two days after he boughtthe gun, Hunter Biden acknowledged sleeping
on a car and smoking crack behindthe minor league baseball stadium in Wilmington after
buying drugs from a dealer named Mookie. And here's the thing, Emery,
this is where sometimes real life istruly stranger than fiction. I just sent
you a image of that minor Leaguebaseball team, the Blue Rocks. Yes
(19:30):
that no way, there's no waythat is not true. I promise that
that's not true. No way,no way, absolutely not. You can't
tell me that's accurate. They werenot named, you can't. They are
a minor league baseball team of theSouth Atlantic League and the High a affiliate
(19:52):
of the Washington Nationals. The WilmingtonBlue Rocks. Were they were They called
that in twenty eighteen. Please tellme they weren't. Oh they were?
They were? Oh boy, Well, and the logo is of a moose
who doesn't it's hard to it lookslike he's snorting. But I don't even
want to say that, considering whatwe're talking about was going on behind the
(20:14):
Wilmington on a car, on acar, in behind a minor league baseball
stadium. Yeah, Hunter has hisown Blue Rocks that he's enjoying, Yeah,
he says. She Holly says thathe bought multiple rocks of crack in
Washington where he kept an apartment, some the size of ping pong walls are
(20:34):
bigger, and stored them in hisbackpack or car. And it talks about
like her kids, her kids, this was her uncle. Their uncle is
now their mom's boyfriend, and they'refinding drugs in a gun there. I'm
she searched the car like a coupleof weeks after he bought the gun and
noticed a dusting of powders she assumedto be the remnants of crack cocaine.
(20:59):
But we're finding this gun in questionin a case with the broken lock.
And then there's surveillance video that wehave seen on television of her tossing the
gun out of there to return latelater and try to figure out how to
recover it. Because obviously I wasa stupid thing. This is some crazy
stuff, man. Yeah, Sowho's Hunter Biden in the show? We're
(21:23):
making the show right now. Whoit is it? I think Matt Damon
could pull it off. Matt Damon, Okay, that's the first name that
came to mind. Who's Hallie hmmm? Because Hallie's got to she's gonna have
an important role here. You gottahave somebody like a little unhinted Amy Adams.
Okay, I was thinking Maggie Jillenhall. Mm yeah, okay, who
wouldn't watch this? Let's be honest, and then we can just put some
(21:45):
aging makeup on Leonardo DiCaprio and havehim be Joe, because you can't just
make like al Pacino Joe Biden. It's like, yeah, he's about the
same age. He would have waytoo much swag. Biden didn't have any
swag anyway, apparently. Also,he would use the cell phone number of
his old wife to text Halle andjust like mess with her, like who
(22:07):
is this guy? This guy's crazylike what he was He's fifty years old
and this is going on. Thisfamily belongs on Jerry Springer. Where's Jerry
when you need him? Rest inpeace? Dang man. Well, if
you want to go find this,go for it. Yo. This this
is you want to talk about howthey were trying to humiliate Donald Trump during
(22:29):
his trial, Hunter Biden is notgoing to be able to do anything after
this, I mean, gee whiz. And this comes after they made it
sound like he was pressured to buythe gun. Everything that we're hearing from
the gun store owner and Halle isthat this guy just go he just buys
whatever. Yeah, he knew whathe's doing. He's carrying it around.
(22:51):
What are we doing here anyway? All Right, Well that's crazy, David
says, Mark my words, thiswill end in acquittal. I don't want
to like speculate. I don't knowwhat the law says about like certain things,
but based on the evidence that wehave here, I don't know how
that's going to happen. They're Imean, they're going to have to have
a mistrial before if he's walking freefrom this thing. This is crazy stuff.
(23:14):
Three forty seven. Let's give awaysome fs next on news radio eleven
ten kfab. Emery's songer on newsradio eleven ten kfab. You bully it,
you bought it, you blew it. Have you ever done something really
stupid? Yeah? Me, neither, but these people did, and that
(23:36):
means it's time for you get anF. All right, Matt case,
I'm gonna go ahead and start. Is that all right? Yeah? There's
a Reddit thing called a I TA. You know what that stands for?
I yeah am I? The yeah? Am I? The bleep?
As in like, did am Ithe one who messed up? Or is
(23:57):
somebody is the other person? Ilike that idea because you know, everybody
kind of has their own opinion.I like sharing that. But a grandma
who took her grandchildren to Walt DisneyWorld. It was their first visit ever,
but then she had a babysit thekids for multiple days while this was
happening, and basically said, itwas four nights and five days so my
(24:21):
son and his wife could attend awedding in Mexico and then spend a few
days on vacation. Now, thewoman said that she didn't necessarily want a
babysit her grandchildren for that long atime period and told her son and her
daughter in law that she wasn't thatcomfortable doing that. Seemed like a long
time, but eventually she decided shewanted to do that and said it was
(24:41):
okay, but she thought that shewas being manipulated in the past. The
woman's daughter in law said she planon taking those kids to a multi day
trip to Walt Disney World, butnever made it a where it was something
super special to her, and nowshe's incredibly angry that while she watched the
kids for five days, decided totake them to Disney World while they were
off on vacation. Now, thedaughter in law is incredibly angry that their
(25:04):
first day or the first trip toDisney World wasn't with them. So first
of all, which one is thebleep in that scenario. Is it grandma
for taking the kids unannounced to whileDisney World, or is it for daughter
in law being angry about that whenshe just up and left Grandma with the
(25:27):
kids for five days. I wason the phone for part of that,
but just so okay. So grandmaagrees to watch her son and daughter in
law's kids, her grandkids they justfour and five, sure, for five
days while they go to a weddingand have vacation in Mexico. She says
(25:48):
she's not comfortable at first, butthen she agrees, and then decides,
well, a good way to usethis time is just to take them to
Disney World, and that's where shegoes. And then when mom finds out
that she took them to Disney World, she's angry at Grandma for doing that
because she wanted to be a partof going to Disney World for the first
time with them, and she feelslike that has been ruined. Now,
well, yeah, it would havebeen cool if the grandma would have given
(26:10):
a heads up, but it's hardto be mad at Grandma for taking them
to Disney World after being told, hey, can you watch my kids for
five days? But we'll see Ithink I think there's there's a little back
and forth. You know what I'mgonna do here. Everybody gets an F.
Grandma gets an F. The doddernlug gets an F. Son gets
(26:32):
an F or not getting in theway of it because he's the one that's
actually related to her. Everybody fora terrible job of communicating. You all
get an F. You got onereal quick, I got a quick one.
I saw this a couple of daysago. Many others probably did too.
They're elders of an Amazon tribe areupset at Elon Musk for his starlink.
(26:56):
This Elon Musk's starlink has given alot of people Internet that didn't have
access to it before. Yeah, guess what happened when young members of this
previously you know, whatever the termis, they didn't have access to all
of the worldly craziness of the outsideworld. And now they have the Internet.
What do you think they got hookedon the adult website. There we
(27:26):
go. Yeah, thanks for helpingme out there. So elders of an
Amazon tribe are very upset at ElonMusk's starlink for exposing them to the crazy
world we live in. In twentytwenty four, the Yeah, this stuff
I have to ask then, Matt, who are you giving the f two
here? You know, I'm gonnain your continuing your theme of giving it
(27:55):
to everyone involved in that story,I'm going to give it to all of
us at large society. Know what, Maybe we should get rid of the
internet. What I do? Ithink we should get rid of the internet.
Just what are you away with it? It's it's gone too far.
We need to go back. Therehave been studies that have shown that people
(28:17):
who you know, live in morewhat you might call primitive conditions, that
live in tribes that are distanced themselvesfrom the modern westernized world, do have
much higher rates of happiness. Sothis is another great example. What are
we talking about here? Elon Muskruined Twitter. Now he's ruined their lives.
He ruined their lives. It's nothis fault that he's trying to,
(28:38):
you know, give everybody a chanceto be civilized. Just think about their
birth rate. Now all the youngguys are off in their tents doing stuff,
and they're you know, the ladies, those poor ladies. He'll stimulate
the economy. Who's giving the asseverybody? Hey, if you want to
give to our Camfab Camp and careradiothon go to Opendoor Mintioned dot or just
(28:59):
for twenty nine bucks is going tohelp a kid get camp plus safe shelter,
nutritious meals and quality care for achild plus their entire family. Go
to Opendoor mission dot org. Moreon the way on news radio eleven tin Kfab
