Speaker 1 (00:00):
One thing that we always should know about Donald Trump
is that you just you don't ever quite know what
he's going to say and when is the Is is
true social the best social media app? Certainly not. It
is not. I know that it's like Tout's free speech
and stuff, but there's a lot of crazy, weird advertising
(00:24):
in there. Sometimes it blocks you from seeing certain pages
and all this stuff. But man, it is a treasure
trove just to follow Donald Trump. I will tell you
that seven hours ago, the earliest morning, Donald Trump said this, the.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Democrats want to give your healthcare money to illegal aliens
and open our borders to the criminals of the world.
A deadly combination because everybody will come. It was an
all caps so you know, I just wanted to make
sure I got the point across there. He followed that
up immediately by saying, I have a meeting today with
(01:00):
us Vought, he of Project twenty twenty five fame. It's
been a while since I've heard about Project twenty twenty
five to determine which of the many Democrat agencies, most
of which are a political scam, he recommends to be cut,
and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent.
I can't believe the radical left Democrats gave me this
(01:23):
unprecedented opportunity. They are not stupid people, so maybe this
is their way of wanting to quietly and quickly make
America great again.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
President DJT. Hey guess what this is Donald Trump at
his trolliest. And I love it. This is the kind
of thing that I absolutely adore Donald Trump for. You
know why, because it gets us talking. What does he
mean by this, Well, it's pretty clear, ladies and gentlemen,
he is doing the reverse psychology here. He is saying
that the Democrats, he's joking obviously that they want to
(01:59):
make it great again by like helping cut some things,
by having the government shut down long enough for Donald
Trump to be able to you know, furlough employees or
permanently fire employees and all this stuff, when obviously this
is going to be some sort of ploy to get
them back to the table, have them have to make
some decisions about what they want to compromise on to
keep the government running. We are in day two of
(02:22):
the government shut down. Are you starving yet out there?
Do you feel like, you know the government has been
you know, out of work for a long time. Well,
if you are, I think we need to. You know,
I see these commercions. I hear the commercials on the
radio of these the people that sell the the generators,
and they have all this like prepackaged like space food
(02:44):
essentially that can like it doesn't go bad like it
can you just like store it for forever. It's non perishable.
And I just wonder how many people are buying that
stuff because they're always like, more power out of it
is are happening. You know, you don't want to be
left without power. If you don't have power, you're going
to be you know, in try if you don't have
access to power, to the internet, things are going to
go down. And then all these people are buying this
(03:04):
stuff up and I'm always wondering it's just like what
kind of person buys that stuff? Like they hear that
and they're like, oh, yeah, that's a great idea. I'm
going to go buy that stuff. Not that you shouldn't
buy that stuff. I mean, it's always good to have
a generator. You never know when a big storm or
something is going to you know, happen, wipe out your power,
wipe out the grid. You know, you just never know.
What these things. It could be anything. You know, we've
had deracho's and tornadoes and floods and stuff that have
(03:28):
wiped out the ability for people to have power. So
I'm not saying that you shouldn't have stuff like that,
but I'm just wondering the kind of person that buys
that stuff upon like learning it exists. Now, it's probably
the same people that think that the government not operating
is like going to be like this major international conundrum.
(03:49):
It's not going to be. There was a over a
month of no government in twenty eighteen into twenty nineteen,
like over the holidays. Twenty eighteen into nineteen was under
the first that was the last real government shutdown, and
that was under of course, Donald Trump's first administration, for
whatever it's worth. You know, You're you're trying to think
to yourself, like, okay, so what is what isn't happening,
(04:10):
what's good? What is not so good with these deliberations.
And we've talked about that in a various way shape
or form. Me had Mike flood on a couple of
days ago to talk about, you know, why the Democrats
are being so stubborn about this and how we as
the American people can find a way to, you know,
I guess, be a little bit better, more proactive and
(04:31):
voting for people who aren't going to actively be tanking
what our government is or isn't doing. But it is
always quite interesting when Donald Trump says something like this,
and I wonder if this possibility, this situation here finds
Donald Trump in Republicans in the House, in the Senate,
(04:52):
sitting there waiting in what Democrat colleagues decide to show
up and say, you know what, we should strike a
deal here, or if they're going to take this truth
social post, these two true social posts and try to
continue the fight and say this is just Donald Trump
being a madman, and we don't think he's gonna do
what he's gonna do, and that is work with Russ Vaught,
he of Project twenty twenty five fame, as Donald Trump
(05:15):
put it, working on ways to trim up and cut
up what the government is.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
A lot of people are saying stuff in the comments
of just like, hey, I knew Project twenty twenty five
was a real thing, and I knew he wasn't actually
going to you know, he was he was gonna follow
that the whole time he wasn't lying about it. He
was just gonna, you know, it was a bob and
a weave on it. I haven't heard anything about Product
twenty twenty five until like right now. So if there's
(05:43):
stuff that's been happening that was literally outlined in Product
twenty twenty five that the Democrats warned us all about
and it was gonna be such a horrible thing, I
would love for them to like produce that and send
it to me. Send it to my email Emri kfab
dot com. I'd love to know, like what Product twenty
twenty five thing has actually happened that is so devastating
(06:03):
to America. But I digress. As of right now, we're
talking about the government shutdown, and Peyton said he saw
a guy who's an Air Force guy who's in Uniforum
at his barbershop today. That's cool. Well, how's the air
Force and how's it affecting the Air Force here in Omaha?
And our guy Krispy Chris Pierce is joining us here
(06:25):
on the phone line, and Chris here uniquely qualified to
tell us about what's going on.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Hey, I appreciate that, Emory. Hey, yeah, So just to
give everyone idea how to effect us so on off
a airport place. We had just over ten thousand people
that work on the base, about seventy percent of those
are active military, and then the rest are civilian federal
work for contractors. And right now what's happening is all
(06:51):
our civilian workforce, with the exception of a few like myself,
who like our military, our active service active duty, are
actually worked working full time, but aren't being paid. Unfortunately,
we're earning pay, but we just won't get that until
the government gets funded once again. The other thing that
I think it's really interesting is while people don't have
(07:15):
to realize to get our day rivet joints in the
air and off, it takes a lot of civilian support.
And since those civilians are now gone, our active military
are actually having to do double duty. They're doing their
mission set us. They're filling in those gaps where our
civilian partners are having to go home. And let me
tell you, this is not something that we as civilians
(07:36):
want to do. We want to be on the base
executing that mission every day. And the longer this lasts,
the harder it's going to be on our active military
who is picking up the slack yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
So, Chris, I guess you know, you guys are privy
to information essentially from the top down, so you don't
really have a seat at the table. It's just the
senators that have to battle over this and try to
figure out how to do this. What's the timeline like
on like they come to an agreement, is it like
the next second somebody's on the phone calling everybody and saying, hey,
we're back in business, Like, how's that going to work?
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Well, So, as soon as the bills passed in the
House and Senate and then signed by prison Trump, the
phone tree or email tree will start to work and
everyone will be back the next business day. I mean
that's hop quickly. We continue to honor that, we continue
to have conversations with our teams and make sure that
as soon as we're able to, we're right back on
(08:32):
the base, working and given a one hundred percent effort. Yeah,
it's good to your point though, every Yeah, to your point, Emory,
we we have no play in this. We are results.
It's completely out of our hands and we just follow
follow this. And I tell you it's it's getting kind
of quiet there on base the last couple of days.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Well, I can imagine that. Chris, this is good. I'm
glad that you shot me a note and wanted to
share this with me. I think this is great information
for our listeners to understand what's going on. So thanks
so much for calling us, and good luck doing the
great workout there.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Thanks and we appreciate it, all right.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
That is Chris Pierce. He's helped out. He's done some
shows in my stead before. He's a really fun guy
and does great work there at off At Air Force Base.
Glad that he was able to be a part of
the show and kind of help us out understand how
the local community is affected by the government shutdown, which
again Donald Trump on his True Social Today said I
(09:26):
have a meeting today. This is a long time ago.
This is eight hours ago, and based on I mean,
you just get ads when you go to Donald Trump's
you know, true social account, You're just getting ads right away,
which you know capitalism as far as three straight ads
and then his orn mom Donnie photo and then or
(09:47):
video and then Donald Trump saying that he was meeting
with Russ Vaught, he of Project twenty twenty five fame
and essentially says, yeah, this is we're gonna figure out
which Democrat agent sees most of which you're a scam,
are recommended to get cut, and whether or not those
cuts will be temporary or will those cuts be permanent.
(10:09):
We will figure that out. And of course this is
just to poke the bear a bit. See if the
Democrats come to the table, if they know it, some
of their stuff that's going to be on the chopping
block potentially. But I don't know, I don't know what
the scenario is going to be. I think we still
have a couple of days worth a finger pointing in
us before we actually start seeing people get serious about
negotiating on either side. But it is nice to know
(10:31):
that our Nebraska and Iowa delegations both as a whole,
have said they are going to withhold their pay They're
not going to take pay while the government is shut down,
which is the right thing to do. It really is,
and I'm glad to see that people aren't in the
government while the government is shut down, not going to
be taking a paycheck, even though they technically could.
