Speaker 1 (00:00):
We do need to talk about the Middle East situation,
and this whole thing is a massive deal for the
Donald Trump administration now first and foremost, it is so
great and it is so important, I think for us
to acknowledge that after two years of this war, we
(00:21):
finally have an opportunity to see these hostages get released
and get put together with their family. And I think
this is an incredibly important moment, not just for the
people who are in Israel and in Gaza and for
everyone who is on the periphery of that conflict in
(00:45):
that region, but also for the Trump administration because this
is a really important moment where you can maybe in theory,
unite our nation politically at least around one thing, and
that is that Donald Trump and his administration were able
to secure this. And they are getting credit from the Israelis,
(01:08):
they are getting credit from the people in the region,
the hostages are thanking President Trump for what he's done
trying to figure this out and get this to a conclusion.
I know it took maybe a bit longer than he
anticipated it would, but he has done something that's really important.
And here's step one of that acknowledgment of his administration
(01:31):
by the people on the other side of the aisle.
Democratic Leader of the Senate Chuck Schumer today said, this
today is a wonderful day. Finally, finally, finally, the last
living hostages brutally held by hamas or home an immense
and overwhelming sigh of relief. I commend the enormous advocacy
(01:52):
of the tireless hostage families, President Trump, his administration, and
all who helped make this moment happen. Wow. He continued on.
He said, there's an enormous opportunity ahead for a long
term and lasting piece. It is with utmost importance that
every party involved pursue the opportunity to finally build a
(02:15):
lasting piece, ultimately through a realized two state solution that
ensures security, prosperity, and dignity for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
End quote. And that was from Chuck Schumer. The fact
that he even acknowledged Donald Trump's name and his administration
in that statement, I think speaks volumes here. This is
a chance maybe for all of us to at least
for a moment, say good job President Trump. There is
(02:39):
a legitimate gold star from every angle that anyone and
everyone could say Yes, this is great, this is what
we want. Thank you for allowing this to happen. And
I know that there's still going to be detractors and
people that aren't going to give Donald Trump the credit
that he deserves. Here and all of your real angry
pro Palestinian or anti Israel protesters that you've been seeing
(02:59):
over the last couple of years, they're just gonna get
mad at Ice. Now they're gonna have something else to
get mad about, and they're never gonna be satisfied. They're
going to be constantly trying to push back against the man,
because that's what they do. But for the most part, here,
ladies and gentlemen, maybe this is a start, at least
of a small amount of time where we can actually
work together.
