Speaker 1 (00:00):
I always wanted a kool Aid Man alarm clock. You know,
just a guy who just blow right through the wall.
Oh yeah, wake me up that way every morning I'd
wake up.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Would you not get used to it though?

Speaker 1 (00:11):
And desensitized to my wall coming shattering down every single morning?
Got like dry wall just everywhere.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
In pieces, uhs and nails just laying on the ground.
Once again, every day, got a giant kool Aid picture
just hovering over me, looking.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
At me with those piercing eyes. Would you just take
a baseball bat to him? One day when you're not
feeling it, You're just like, okay, this was too much
for me. Five days in you just have a baseball
bat next to your bed and you just pick it
up and you just whack it with old aluminum bat,
hitting with the snooze button. Go to sleep now, kool
Aid Man, and never ever wake up. Yeah, and then

(00:50):
just drink, drink the evidence. That's what I do. Nobody knows.
Get them off, Gotta clean up the cold kool Aid Man.
You got the call from uh. Okay, so I see
you an email this baseball game that just finished up
while we would a ride the UH. I was telling

(01:11):
you what was going on. The Mets come from behind,
and it's a doubleheader. It's like the most it's a
very strange thing. I've never seen this in sports. So
they have to play two games to make it up
the games that they lost this past week because of
the hurricane. Now the Braves and the Mets are both
tied in the standing, so this isn't just for one

(01:32):
of the teams, this is for both of the teams.
The winner of the first game is automatically into the playoffs.
The Mets were losing three to nothing most of the game,
came back, took a six to three lead with a
sixth spot in the top of the eighth. They're kind
of joking with each other in here while we were
watching this that it would be such a Mets thing
to happen to them, for them to cough this lead
up in the eighth or the ninth inning. Yeah. Well,

(01:53):
Chris mad Dog Russo, the godfather of sports talk radio. Essentially,
he apparently like he's on he's on the h he's
on the air like we were. You know, we didn't
do live play by play on this, but he did
because he's a sports talk guy. Listen to the Mad
Dog Russo call the UH Braves comeback here in the

(02:16):
bottom of the eighth.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
It's mee nothing the whole game. Here's a three one
from Dias and there's a ball in left field and
pretty well in and is off the wall. It gets
by the left field or one redroll score, two runswell
score and there's Atlanta Braves score another run, a three
one double off the wall in left field by our
good buddy Albis had Atlanta lage seven to six and

(02:41):
an absolute classic. Now down in Atlanta, the mat so
out of six ft eight dinning Bren Diaz in and
Diaz gives it up back to back.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
That's enough of that one, I say, like, is that
not classic? Right? That's just good stuff. He's back on
the air, he takes a break, he comes back, and
the Mets are down by our run. Now in the
in the UH did I send this to you? I don't.
I don't see the other one. Let me click on
his twitter see if I can find it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
well yeah, to click on the guy's the guy's twitter there, like,

(03:13):
I'm pulling this straight from Twitter. Yeah, so I gotta
tell you. Let me here, I got it. I'll pull
I'll send it to you. This is the exciting part
of what sports can do for you. And I say
this not just because like you guys should care about this.
It's mostly just like I love enthusiasm and I love

(03:36):
just excitement. And then I listened to this and I
was just like, I'm laughing my head off right because
this guy who's a true legend of our industry. I mean,
Matt dog Russo whether you're a sports talk guy or
a news talk guy, like he's a talk legend. He's
kind of a sports talk what Rush Limbaugh is to
news talk. You know what I'm saying. He's a little
bit more colorful in the way that he uses his voice,

(03:57):
but it's pretty fun and exciting to like listen to
somebody talk with that enthusiasm. So he's back in the
air after he took a commercial break, and the Mets
in the top of the ninth do the unthinkable.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Now he's got an opportunity against the Braves back of
the bullpen.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Now he hits the fly ball.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
That's pretty well hit the day Bright Center, and this
ball is out of here. Lyn's just golf Wold and
the Mets lead.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Eight to seven.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
You run over by Lyndor, and New York has the advantage.
Oh my goodness, what a bakesball games? As the Door
hit a ball out the right center looked like a
fly ball at first.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
With the ball carried and guarding carried.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Harris scaled the wall and left it and New York
now leeds eight to seven and Didas gets a second
life in the bottom of the ninth.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
That's some good stuff there, mack ca so had some
good stuff. Yeah, that's exciting right there. You can hear
it in his voice. Game two is about to start
at in about five minutes. They're gonna have first pitch
of Game two. The Mets, it's meaningless for them except
to potentially lock up the second seat and then to
end their rival season. The Braves are going to start
their likely Cy Young winner Chris Saile as the pitcher

(05:03):
in Game two. He has been scratched as of just
a few minutes ago. They scratched him from the game
to start with backspasms. Ooh, that kind of tells you.
You know what this tells me? QAnon Emory's coming out. Okay.
The Mets told the Braves are not going to try hmmm,
which again makes it meaningless that they would try really
hard in the first game, right if the two teams
had already agreed, Hey, one of y'all, one of us

(05:25):
going to win the first game, the other of us
will just set it up for you guys to win
the second game, and just kind of gentlemen's agreement on that,
which I would hate. The reason they selt to play
this is because the Arizona Diamondbacks are sitting at home
hoping the Mets win so they can get in, and
the Braves will be on the outside looking in. It's
a wild situation. And then guess what, we got a
couple of Monday night football games sign too.

Speaker 5 (05:46):
If that wasn't enough for you, well I what if
the Mets were tricking the Braves and actually, you know,
like Survivor style had made a secret a prior agreement
with Arizona.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Oh, and they like told them all this so they
would put like not their best players in for whatever reason,
and then all of a sudden, they like try really
hard the match.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
You're like, hey, Braves, we're already in. You know, hey,
we'll help you get in, help me get in. But
then that was their plan all a long rope dope, yep.
Get the Braves out of there. Mmmm, that's why.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
That's why.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
The best case scenario, all the teams try as hard
as they can all the time.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I agree, don't give anything, Like, who care? Remember that
year the Chargers and the Raiders, if they tied, would
both have made the playoffs in the NFL A couple
of years ago. It was like the last game of
the season, and then the Chargers stupidly tried in the
overtime to win when the Raiders were just trying to
run the clock out, and then the Raiders ended up winning,

(06:41):
and the Chargers didn't make the playoffs. Like what a idiot?
Just if you don't do anything, they could have taken
knees the entire game and both would have made it. Now,
that would have been a game to see they didn't
do that. Spoiler alert. Pretty awesome stuff. Hey, it's three
forty seven. Stick around. We'll get to but I gotta

(07:01):
I'm gonna have Matt ask me another question about my
Spain trip. Coming up on news radio eleven ten kfa B.
