Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wow, what a crazy and interesting situation that we have
found ourselves in, with a lot of things in the
news today, still waiting on that Diddy verdict. I don't
know what the I don't know exactly what to I
don't know what to say about what my expectation is.
(00:22):
I know a lot of people are probably going to
be happy if he gets sentenced to some prison time
and stuff. But the whole point I thought of the
Diddy thing was they were trying to get other people, Like.
It wasn't just going to be him and his bad
behavior and all these freak offs and all these crazy
parties that he was throwing. It was all the other
celebrities that were engaging in illegal activity, and he was
(00:44):
going to be kind of the way that they were
going to get to all this other stuff, right with
all these other people. But absolutely nobody else, absolutely nobody
else was implicated in this at all. So, I I mean,
I don't know, like, what do we what do we
do here? Like, how do we how do we corroborate this?
(01:06):
Do we still care as much? I mean, I guess
there are a few Diddy songs that I think we
all probably heard or listened to over the years. Do
you know some Didty songs and none they really like
come to mind? Yeah, I mean the did he did
he was like popular in the nineties. Yeah, before me
(01:28):
in like a bit more. He had some like solid hits.
I guess in the early to mid two thousands. It's
not really my my jam that genre, but there were
some songs that you know, found their way into my
playlist at times. But he hasn't really been relevant on
that kind of level for the last what ten years
(01:52):
twelve years at least. I mean, he had that TV
showing him TV making the band and all that stuff.
I don't know, you know, like if we're talking about
it from just a fundamental like do you care about
him being sentenced? I would say probably most of us know,
But I would just also kind of imagine that it's
(02:13):
a little unfair to say that because if there's you know,
like R Kelly, same thing. When R Kelly got in trouble,
all of a sudden, people are like, WHOA, what the
heck's going on there? So I don't know, what do
we do? What do we do with this stuff? Like
do we care about these celebrities or not? All these
celebrities tell us like what to do with our politics
(02:34):
and stuff. We never listened to them as many, like
celebrities came out of the woodwork to endorse Kamala Harris.
You would have thought she was a shoeing to win
if endorsements mattered at all. She lost by more than
Hillary Clinton did. So, like if that was ever an
indication that nobody really cares what celebrities tell us to think,
I mean, who cares? And then when a celebrity gets
(02:56):
in trouble and I mean, I guess it all kind
of stems from not that there weren't famous people who
got in trouble before, but the OJ Simpson thing kind
of created reality television. You know, OJ Simpson was on television.
He did you know, NFL broadcasting, He was in movies
and TV shows. He was a great running back, he
had a great personality. A lot of people were familiar
(03:18):
with Oj for any one of those different backgrounds. And
you know what ended up happening. He uh was alleged
to have killed a couple of people, and then he
went on the run and everybody was like, what the
heck is going on right now? It was one of
the wildest days of all time. June seventeenth, nineteen ninety four.
(03:38):
There's a thirty for thirty ESPN made about that day
because there were so many crazy things that happened in
sports on top of the OJ thing. But that was
a wild day. And then of course, like the following
year plus of the trial and all that stuff and
the legacy and the everything that's going on. It's just
crazy stuff. So I don't know, is did he on
(04:03):
the level of Oja Simpson? Certainly not, especially these days.
I mean celebrities they come and they go, I say
the name mister Beasts and you probably know who that is. Yeah, yeah,
I say the name mister Beast to somebody that's sixty
years old, They'll be like, who the heck is mister Beast.
I don't even know if I could properly explain why
he's famous. He's he's like kind of the king of YouTube,
(04:24):
Like he got a lot of YouTube money because millions
of people watch his shows and watch his channel and
like all the stuff that he does, the games and
the stunts that he has, and uh, likewise, I could say,
you know something like Kenny G. You know Kenny G's
(04:45):
I don't think so, yeah, And I say, somebody who's
like in their fifties be like, oh, yeah, Kenny g
the saxophone player, because he was actually quite a high
profile saxophone player in the Yeah, okay, and then uh,
when I was a kid. Right, so it go. You know,
it's a whole generational thing. Diddy has officially been sentenced.
We have it. It has just fallen down. This is
(05:06):
how you kill time. You know about when this stuff
is gonna happen, and then you just sit, you just wait,
you wait it out, and all of a sudden boom,
there's the sentence, official sentence. Four years and two months
in prison two months or sorry, four years two months
in prison for Diddy. All of that hubbub, no one
(05:29):
else implicated, No other names of celebrities implicated. Four years,
two months in prison. Off, he goes back to our
relevancy if he's on his best behavior, Like who knows
what prison he's going to go to is probably gonna
be high security, and who knows, maybe some other things
are going to be, you know, positioned for him to
be like ayo, b oh, by the way, he can
(05:51):
have like house arrest or something. If he's gone his
best behavior. A lot of prisons, you know, like you
get a day taken away for every good day that
you have in jail, So maybe it'll be closer to
two years in one month. Does he come out with
new music? Does anybody want to hear new Diddy music?
Absolutely not. I'm not sure. I guess we'll have to
take the temperature on that when it happens, if it happens.
(06:12):
But there it is the breaking news right now. Did
he officially sentenced to four years and two months in
prison within the last couple of minutes. There you go.
Now we can move on with the rest of our lives.
