Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, let's go back to the the Katari airport
or airplane gift, which was officially accepted by the White
House today, Donald Trump officially accepting Quitar's Boeing seven forty seven.
It's a gift, he says, according to the Pentagon, it's
to be refitted as air Force one.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
And so I didn't make this up. This is real.
Thoughts do you have thoughts, Matt, now that we have.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
This, I don't honestly know much about it. I know
that it was an airplane hot topic. It's an airplane
a couple of days ago. So, and it's a gift
from a foreign country. What's the precedent for where these
usually come from?

Speaker 4 (00:34):
So?

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I know that he was going to get it from Boeing, right,
but he didn't like the deal they were making with him.
Was that what it was?

Speaker 1 (00:39):
And they're slow to outfit the new one. It's just
they're slow. I'm sure they'll have one done maybe this
because this is a Boeing. I mean, this is a Boeing.
It's just one that's been gifted to him and he
wants it outfitted. It to be outfitted to be up
to the specs. It needs to be for defensive purposes
and safety reasons, for the security of the people on board,

(01:00):
that it will be able to protect everyone. But Boeing
itself was supposed to give a personalized plane for the
use of the President of the United States, and I
don't know what the status of that is, and I'm
not here to pretend like I know what that is.
I think the sensationalism of oh, Donald Trump's taking a
plane from Qatar, he's doing it for personal use. This

(01:22):
is for personal use because he says he's going to
retire it at the end of his term. And again,
we now have the plane. So when we talked about this,
what was that last week? I forget we talked about
it last week, And I gotta be honest with you,
And again, Zamary's opinion, you don't have to share the opinion.
Once we actually got the plane, which I figured was
going to happen, then I felt like maybe we could

(01:44):
start tearing this thing down as to whether or not
this is a personal or a government gift.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Right, Can I play shoe on the other foot really quick? Okay,
let's say the year is twenty fourteen, Yes, and the
same thing's happening, but in this equation, Barack Obama is
accepting the same gift from the same country. What would
the talking points be today in twenty fourteen on conservative
talk radio.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Well, let's be one hundred percent honest here. If there
were any Middle Eastern countries of any kind doing business
of that nature with Barack Obama in twenty fourteen, I
would have been stunned, absolutely stunned. Now that's not to
say that there hasn't been a gift of like a
helicopter to Bill Clinton, which there are some publications out
there that challenge whether or not that was a gift

(02:30):
in the first place. But alas right, I'm picking up
what you're putting down. Let's just say, Barack Obama, let's
even make it earlier, so it's you know, maybe war
one to one. He's elected for a second term in
twenty twelve, he is in office in twenty thirteen and
twenty thirteen, Qatar gives him a call or a country
in the standing of the United States like Katar is

(02:50):
now you know, a friendly relationship, and they have money
to spare, and they give Barack Obama a seven forty
seven gigant beautiful new plane.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
And here have this it's all yours.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Barack Obama immediately says that he is going to accept
this as a gift and he will outfit it to
be the new Air Force one, and once he's out
of office by the twenty sixteen election and with the
inauguration of a new president in twenty seventeen, he is
retiring that seven forty seven that he had spent all
that money to outfit as the official Air Force one

(03:25):
and retiring it to his Presidential library and it will
be there for the rest of time. If that's exactly,
If we drew that out, and you wanted to be
hyper critical, yeah, I mean, let's be honest.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
All of the Republicans will be saying that's a personal gift.
He shouldn't be allowed to do it.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
The same thing's happening with Donald Trump, and it's just
the Democrats who are going, that's a personal gift, he
shouldn't be allowed to do it.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Do I have it right? Do you agree with me?
Is that about right?

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Yeah? I would think so too, But I was just curious.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
You know, that's time I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I'm picking up what you're putting down, I'm smelling what
you're stepping in I stepping in a lot.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I'm spelling.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
It's it's like when you're playing a game with somebody
and it's only cheating when it's the other side. And
you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Of course, of course everybody sees those games.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
You see everything through your own bias, right, Like I
was watching the Thunder Timberwolves last night.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Did you see this game?

Speaker 3 (04:15):
I didn't, but I saw the Thunder cleaned up.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Is there a more maddening player than Shake Guilders Alexander?
I mean Fowls, right, Yeah, he's just running into guys
and it's like, stop blowing the whistle. Stop giving him
all these fouls. This is terrible basketball. I don't like
watching this.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
But how do you stop that? Now that that's in
the game, how do you get it out?

Speaker 1 (04:33):
If you had Shake Guilders Alexander on your team, you
love the guy, you love it.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
If you're a Thunder fan, oh that's a foul.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
He's getting pushed, he's getting knocked over. If you're a
Timberwolves fan, you're sitting there just like, how are you
blowing the whistle?

Speaker 2 (04:43):
This is not a foul.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
It's the exact same thing with this stuff, right, It's
good for THEE but not for me. It's like it's
the whole thing, right like, or good for me and
not for THEE.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Everybody is going to look through their specific scope, and
that's what we're here to do.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
We're trying to we eat.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Through all of that rhetoric, all of the stuff that
you think you know about your own opinion, and try
to make you think a little bit differently about it.
Is this a huge story. I don't think it's a
huge story. I'll be honest with you. I think of
all the things to get upset and angry about, this
seems like one that.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Isn't that big of a deal.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
If this is a bribe of some kind and we
see some reciprocation to Qatar in the future, for some reason,
somehow Qatar lands another World Cup, I don't know. I
don't know what you give Qatar in return for them
giving you a seven forty seven. They have a ton
of money. This is a four hundred million dollar plane.
As they drop in the bucket for that government, they
don't care. I don't know what you have to give them,
whether it's access or influence. In some way, you're treating

(05:40):
them like they're some sort of major player on the
world stage. I don't know. All I know is that
there's something to the fact that the way that Donald
Trump has talked about this particular gift, it's really riled
up the Democrats. And when I come back, I got
Michael Bennett, the outspoken Colorado guy who's always yelling about something.

(06:00):
I actually enjoy listening to him talk, though, because he's
so easy to make fun of. But when I got
he posted on his own personal X account, his social
media about how he feels about this and it's just
dropped in the last hour or so. I will play
that for you next on news Radio eleven ten Kfab.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
And Marie Sung. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
There's something about this guy. He's just always working himself
up about stuff. You remember this guy, right.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
I forgot about this guy, but yeah, I remember you
had clips from him quite a while back.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
I like listening to him, you know why, because he
gives you something to talk about. Well, Michael Bennett didn't
need a Senate hearing to talk about this plane, this
Katari plane that Donald Trump is officially accepted and wants
to use his air Force one. And that's not a
rumor ladies and gentlemen. He is still seemingly adamant, and
the Department of Defense is going to be tasked, the

(06:49):
Air Force is going to be tasked with getting this
outfitted to be air Force one. But here's what Michael Bennett,
the Senator from Colorado, a Democrat, hardcore Democrat, had to
say about this on his social media account this afternoon.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
President Trump has not wasted a moment using his position
of power for personal gain. He announced he'd accept a
four hundred million dollar luxury jet from the Katari government
to replace Air Force One and use for his personal
travel after leaving office. To say the least, this is
a disturbing abuse of the presidency. Accepting a luxury jet

(07:23):
from a foreign dictatorship violates the Constitution, poses severe counterintelligent risk,
and is a blatant act of corruption. We know it
would take two years and hundreds of millions of taxpayer
dollars to dismantle the plane to make sure no one
has inserted listening devices, and then rebuild it with the
security and defense capabilities that Air Force one requires. President

(07:45):
Trump's actions proved once again that he cares only for himself,
and we need to stand up against this corruption and
for our national security.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
All right, Michael Bennett, take it easy. Did that audio
sound wlanky to you? Like?

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Did that sound weird? I was.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
It was clear enough to understand.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Yeah, but it was like coming in and out of
my right and left ears.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Oh it didn't do that for me. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Okay, that's good.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
I was just like we're on headphones, and I was
just like, where did Michael Bennett record this? Did he
have Phil Specter? Like do the production value of this?
What the heck's going on?

Speaker 3 (08:18):
He's made it by neural Isn't that what that's called
when the audio kind of like goes in between channels.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah, it's just like going back and forth. It just like, dude,
like it's a video on X. Don't don't be doing
weird stuff to your videos anyway. I had a couple
of different texts or emails in emriett kfyb dot com
about this, and again, this is not I'm I played
that because I just want you to understand why people
are so adamant that this is not good on the
other side of the aisle, because they see this is

(08:45):
a waste of space. Donald Trump is not going to
be in power after twenty twenty eight, He's already said
he's taken the plane with him. I can understand why
somebody on the political left is like, that doesn't make
any sense. It's gonna take so much time and a
lot of money to outfit this plane to be air
Force one, and just for him not to use it
as Air Force one afterwards, it makes no sense.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Now, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Again, maybe this is the art of the deal, and
he's saying all this to try to get Boeings to
accelerate the production of their current Air Force one and
hopefully maybe some people in Donald Trump's circle are in
his ears saying, hey, this probably isn't a great look.
Did have Mary send me an email and said, if
we should not accept the new air Force one plane,
we should give back the Statue of Liberty to France. Well, Mary,

(09:24):
I do appreciate the email. These are not the same things.
The Statue of Liberty was gifted by France to the
United States, and it was it sat right there on
the edge of the United States. It's one of the
first things that the immigrants that were coming to the
United States back in the day saw before they got
to Ellis island that included my grandfather or my great grandfather.

(09:45):
Okay that I have a great respect for people in
their opinions, but that is easily visible by anyone in
the United States. You can go and see the Statue
of Liberty. It's right there. You can get up and
touch the base of it. It's right accepting a plane
that isn't outfitted to be air Force one, saying you
want it to be outfitted for air Force one, paying

(10:08):
the money somehow. I don't know where that money is
coming from, so you would think it's government money. The
government then is using money to you know, use the
have to be able to outfit the plane with all
the security measures to make sure that there is no
breach of security and that it has the ability to
get rid of missiles that might be targeting the plane

(10:28):
and all that stuff, all the stuff that's really important
for Air Force one. You have to find a way
to do that. This plane isn't outfitted for that. You're
gonna have to spend the time and the money to
do that.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Is it worth it?

Speaker 1 (10:39):
By the time Donald Trump says he's taking this plane
home with him when he's done with his presidency in
twenty twenty eight or twenty nine.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
I guess it's not the same thing. Okay, so I
don't know what the I don't.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Know what the easiest way to describe this is as
other than maybe a token of or a tool to
get Boeing to deliver the new Air Force one in
a more timely manner. But the timeline, it really does
not make a whole lot of sense matter anyway.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
You can have your opinion on that. I have mine.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
We'll come back three o'clock hour on the way with
Emery Songer on He's Rado eleven ten kfab
