Speaker 1 (00:00):
Unob Ashley, whether she was a Democrat or not. I'm
a huge Chelza Gabbard fan. I got to interview her
a couple of times when she was making her rounds
twenty nineteen into twenty twenty trying to make it to
the Iowakau because she's stayed in that race a long time,
despite never really getting more than like two or three
percent support anywhere that they did polling. But she was
most notable first of all for being very young, very athletic.
She served the country at that point for probably like
(00:22):
fourteen or fifteen years. I mean, she's done a lot
of service for the United States of America, still in
the military as far as I know right was a
congresswoman from Hawaii, has a very interesting, eclectic background. She's
technically a woman of color. She's got some mowen in her.
You want to know something, an incredibly interesting person. You
(00:43):
had to interview her four or five years ago, and
you were kind of like, for somebody like me, I'm
pretty impressed with a person in her late thirties that
is so easy to talk to, that's in politics, and
she has so many great experiences that she already has.
And then I saw the friction that she had with
Hillary Clinton and then the rest of the Democratic Party,
(01:04):
and then eventually she left or got erased from the
party altogether. Kind of was living in this purgatory zone
as an independent, where she was shown up doing media hits,
more so for people on the right than on the left,
because you know, the one thing a good conservative talk
radio or television news station is going to love is
a Democrat that no longer identifies as a Democrat. You know,
(01:26):
you can really exploit a lot of different points there. However,
I had never really expected a full on endorsement from
Tulsa Gabbard for Donald Trump. I guess I shouldn't be
surprised that she did give that endorsement to day, three
years to the day of the horrific situation in Afghanistan
where we lost over a dozen of our servicemen and
women because of an incredibly irresponsible military strategy to pull
(01:50):
out of Afghanistan, and to this day we're, you know,
unfortunately reaping what we sew and having an administration that's
just horrific in their own right for basically every foreign
policy outside of our borders. I mean, heck, even on
our borders let's be real. Anyway, Tulsi Gabbard, as more
time has gone on, feels like she's gotten a little
bit more outspoken about conservative values, conservative ideals. Very interesting
(02:16):
for somebody at still a pretty young age to kind
of have that morphing happen. But here's my big thing.
I think she is going to bring a little bit
of a different attention to Donald Trump. However, most launched
Democrats obviously already disliked her. However, if you knew you
could get Tulsi Gabbard in the bag as somebody who
is going to endorse and help campaign for you, which
(02:37):
it sounds like she could be a surrogate campaigner in
different spots for Donald Trump. Why would you not think
about her as a running mate. I mentioned her name
about four or five months ago as somebody that as
much as it would be a stunner to see somebody
who four years ago was trying to be Trump's opponent
in the presidential race, it would be a stunner, Don't
get me wrong. But you want to start building gaps,
building bridges, you want to talk about saw some of
(03:00):
the issues that Donald Trump has in reaching a certain
population of America, Tulsi Gabbert I think could have been
a lot more effective than Doug Bergham, than a Tim Scott,
than a Byron Donald's and for the love of Pete J.
D Vance, who is seemingly only made it more difficult
for those gaps to be bridged. If you will, Tulsi,
I think can do a lot of good. I just
don't know if they missed the boat a little bit
(03:22):
and not getting her into the mix a little bit sooner.
But she's going to explain herself probably more on the
campaign trail, and I think she is going to be
a positive influence on the campaign in some way. Oh
and by the way, nobody has bodied Kamala Harris in
any way, shape or form it any forum than Tulsi
Gabbert did in those early debates. I don't know, she's
(03:42):
not going to get a chance to actually debate Kamala,
but she knows Kamala and how to get to her
and how to eliminate her pretty much as well as anybody.
So I for one, am excited to see what she's
going to bring now that she's kind of back in
the mix, at least as a surrogate campaigner. If you will.
I wanted to finish the show here given a shout
out to my pups, PJ and Palmer. It is International
(04:04):
Dog Day. Celebrate accordingly. One of the things that I
know that we all can agree on is the fact
that our dogs are incredibly unique, each and every one
of them. But they also give us that an unconditional
love that makes us incredibly thankful to have them, and
especially for me, I don't have children. My wife and
I we don't say that we're parents at all, but
(04:25):
we definitely kind of approach our dog ownership as really
a friendship with our animals, and they give us an
incredible amount of joy every single day. Now, we miss
our boy Pyro, who we lost a few months ago,
and I still mourn for the other two greyhounds that
we lost in twenty In twenty twenty, we lost them,
(04:48):
and I really hope in the best way, shape or form,
that everybody has a chance to love like we were
loved by Emma and Jagger before we lost them, and
then Pyro, and then of course PJ and Palmer. So
shout out to them, Shout out to my best friends
on four legs, and we are going to celebrate accordingly. Tonight,
have a little bit of treat action and maybe go
(05:09):
on a nice little jaunt. It's a little hot to
be walking around outside with them, but we might go
to a store somewhere. So if you see a couple
of greyhounds with a couple of people wandering around, that
might be So be sure to say hey to us
when you see us out there. And Happy International Dog
