Speaker 1 (00:00):
First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at advocuslad dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Josh is on the phone today for a first date
follow up and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Alice.
So we're gonna see if we can figure out why
and maybe get him another date. Right now, Josh, what's up, man?
How are you?

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (00:19):
I'm good to be talking to you and not good
for the reasons that I'm talking to you. Yeah, this
is really strange, to be honest with you.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Okay, Well, tell us a little bit about it. Tell
us about your date with Alice.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Okay, So just to give you a little context. Right, So, like,
my best friend is his name's Dave. He has got
a girlfriend and she has some friends, and she has
this one particular friend they like sort of like put
us up, kind of like a little date, kind of saying,
you know, like I'm sort of a blind date. I
was reluctant at first because it's like, eh, but oh
my gosh. So we met up at this pub and

(00:56):
I can't even begin to tell you, Like, you know
that thing when you meet somebody and it's almost like whoa,
there's something familiar. It's just like.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
It was so cool.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yeah, we just had so many things in common too.
It was like the second we sat down we just
started talking. It was just like have I known you
in a past life or something? Because she's like into
the same music and art and all that, and in fact,
she's a painter, which I have so much respect for,
you know, she's like really artistic, and she just had
cool references and it was just like amazing. She is

(01:30):
crazy creative. Like I mean, she showed me some of
her are work.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I was like, whoa, that's really cool.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
We just sort of like grew up in the same area.
We kind of know them of the same people, you know,
and she was The thing about her is she's like feminine,
but honestly she has the mouth of a sailor, which
I just loved because it's sort of like she could
just get down and dirty and she's like making all
these jokes and stuff. And she was killing me, you.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Know, because on a date, they didn't cuss, really, yeah,
they didn't, and whether they would go out of their
way to not you know, they'd be like oh gosh
or fudge, yeah, and I just couldn't do it after that.
So it seems I mean, Josh, I see why you
were into her.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Plus, I mean we pretty much closed the pub out
just talking all night and drinking and like sharing like
dating horror stories.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
You know.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
It's just it's a brutal out there, you know, and
it's just it's funny. And she was killing me, you know.
And then like after the date, I mean, we were
kind of like a little drunk, maybe a little bit
tipsy whatever whatever, whatever, and maybe something could have happened,
but we did this thing. It was like, you know what,
let's not do it like this and we'll do a
rain check on anything, you know, more kind of thing
like that. There was like a nice kiss at the end,

(02:42):
but we just wanted to like meet up sort of
vibe each other route we obviously clicked like seriously. And
then I just don't understand what happened. I texted, I said, hey,
you know, when you get home, text me just to
make sure you're okay. You know, I just want to
make sure you got home okay, And she said, uh,
got home, thank you, good night. And I was like, okay.

(03:05):
And that was a little odd at first, to be
honest with you.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
And then nothing, Why was that odd?

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Well, because it's sort of like we were. We were
so shatty and talkative throughout the whole thing. It just
seemed kind of like a cold didn't seem like correctly.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
Have you reached out to her since then?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yeah, yeah, I texted her a couple of times. I mean,
I don't want to be like too needy and like,
you know, overpearing, but I was just like what's going on, Like, hey,
how's it going?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
And nothing.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Well, I mean it sounds like you guys clicked the
text at the end of the night. I kind of
took it the same way that you did. Josh. It
seemed if if she had as grade of a time
as you had, it would seem like a little impersonal almost.

Speaker 6 (03:47):
Josh, did anything happen on that date that would have,
I don't know, shifted the chemistry to not be there
anymore for lack of a better.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Word, because she sort of have a sailor's mouth and
she was maybe I was like too sweary or like
something like that, Like sometimes I can like sort of like,
oh you want to go and do it's just have
a filthy mouth. Though I have just spoken about.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Maybe I was a little louder. I don't know, but
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
She was laughing though.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
That's the thing that's so weird, because maybe I was
like too inappropriate or something, but I don't think so,
because then at the end she gave me a kiss
and sort of wink and it was sort of like,
we'll try.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
To figure out for you. Then we'll play a song,
comeback and then call her and see if she'll tell
us why she's ghosting you, and then get you another
date if you still want one. Next in your first
day fall It is the Jewishow.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Right in the middle of your first Date follow Up
if you're just joining us, Josh is on the phone
and he's getting ghosted by Alice. He said that they
had a great date, but now he's her he hasn't
heard from her at all and he doesn't know why. Josh,
Before we give her a call to try to figure
it out for you, why don't you just refresh everybody's
memory about your date with Alice.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Yeah, so we met up through a mutual friend and
kind of a blind day thing, and it was just
instant chemistry. We spent the night drinking, laughing, having a blast.
I mean, it was a one in a million connections.
We even did the respectful thing. We didn't even like
go further physically, just a little kiss at the end

(05:20):
of the night, and it was all set up for
the next hangout. And now nothing so weird, nothing it is.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I mean, the way you described your date, she was amazing, amazing.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
And she's a brilliant artist. I mean, she's mad talented.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
But don't people jobill You might be able to answer this, like,
as a creative person, if you really get in a zone,
don't you kind of detach from other day to day
normal things.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
So maybe she's in a zone right now.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Maybe it is that, maybe she's just focused on something
right now and she'll get back to you in a minute.
But we'll find out. I'm about to call her right now.

Speaker 7 (05:51):
Okay, thanks, all right? Hello, Hi me.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I speak to Alice. Please speaking Alice, how are you?
This is? My name is Jewbel from a radio show
called The Jewbill Show.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Hi, Alice, I'm Nina that I'll see here.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Hi, Okay, Hi.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
We're calling you today because we got an email about
you from somebody who listens to the show. Okay, we
do a segment on the show called the First Date
follow Up. That's where if you go out on a
date with someone and then you're ghosting them, they can
ask us to get you on the phone and ask
why you've been ghosting them. So you're currently ghosting somebody
and they wanted us to ask you that question.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Okay, nervous, but okay, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Do you know who it is that would want to
find out?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
I'm I mean, yeah, I have a big, big guess.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
Okay, what's your guest?

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I felt bad because I did really like him. He
was like so cool. I'm like super genuine and like
cool and I'm just comfortable, you know.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
So why are you guys seeing him that?

Speaker 3 (07:09):
I feel like he's almost like a clone of my brother, Like, oh,
they like like not no kidding, they look identical.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Oh that would be weird.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Yeah, did you know that.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
He looked like your brother before you went out with him?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Though? Well no, I did not.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
They got up by a friend, basically a blind date.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
I could not look past that fact, you know, and
him saying like I just I don't know. I just
felt like I was drinking with my brother all night.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Did you kiss him?

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yes? Yes, yes, you kiss your brother. I mean it
was nice, It actually was nice, but like I couldn't
you know, the face got in the way, Like, oh no, So.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
You liked him and you thought he was really cool.
He just really looks like your brother.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Yeah, that was kind of a barrier for me.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
I couldn't even date somebody that has my brother's name,
or my dad's name or my nephew's name. Like, I
just couldn't do it, right.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yeah, so you understand, I do. That's what happened. I mean,
he's just a great but like I just couldn't get
over it.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
That's so funny because you know how they say some
of the most happy couples look like each other, like
they look like siblings.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
People say that. Yeah, so I mean this really could
have been in your favor.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
I mean maybe you should, you know, go outside of
your comfort zone date your brother a little bit. You
never know, Alice, I do need to let you know
that Josh is on the phone. It's been listening this
whole time. He wants to talk to you too.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Oh okay, I here the problem was the deal? Ye?

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Hey? Hey, well well honestly, I'm a little heartbroken, a
little bombed.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
I didn't expect that. I thought maybe I did something
wrong or something, you know what I mean. So like
I'm on my happy Yeah, I get it. I get it.
If you were like my sister, I would be weird
enough too. But but but but having said that, I mean, Alice,
I really like you, and I would be willing to
do anything, just anything, like, is there anything that I

(09:28):
could do to just even get a second date? Would you? Just?
Is there anything you can think of?

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Alice? I'll have Josh's back on this, like he said
that you were amazing and he really really really really
liked going out with you.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Oh my gosh, I mean jeez, it just looks so
much like my brother.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Though, well, okay, is there anything that I could do
that that would make me not look like your brother?

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Like whatever? Oh my god? Well maybe like grow a
beard or I don't know, Like it also doesn't help
that you do have your hair just like my brother.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Okay, So here's here's the deal. I am literally, as
of this second, drawing my beard out. Officially, I just
announcing that on the air, drawing a beard quite the
second and the moment I hang up from this, I'm
heading to a hair salon and I'm gonna whatever a
haircut you want, I'm doing it.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Oh my god, you're so sweet, is it? I like
you and I don't want to look like your brothers.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Don't happy to grow like?

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Yeah you guys, tho, you just like it. That's the
same Shaw Like, He's just so similar. Well, I can,
I can gain weight. I can.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
I'll all right, Alice, would you go on another date
with Josh. We'll pay for it. Not the plastic surgery
might have forget, but we'll pay for the day.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Oh my god, don't get fast to the very that's crazy, Jesus. Okay, yes, what, yes, Okay, yeah,
I will. I will just start growing, put on some
beards here. I'm like right now, I'm literally going.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
There's so many things about this that makes me uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
I'll even I'll dye my hair blonde. Oh my god,
don't do that. That will not look good.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Well, congratulations Kay
