Speaker 2 (00:07):
Joaquin is on the phone today for a first date
follow up and he's getting ghosted by Stephanie.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
So we're gonna see if we can help him out.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Hey, Joaquin, before we get into the date and stuff,
how long has it been since you talked to Stephanie.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Uh, you know, it's been probably about four days.

Speaker 5 (00:20):
Man, Okay, four days. That might not necessarily be a ghosting. No,
not necessarily. So when was the last time you actually
talked to her? Was it on the date or did
you hit her up after?

Speaker 4 (00:30):
No, I mean it was it was it was on
the date. That's the last time I talked to her.

Speaker 6 (00:34):
And what was that interaction? Like, what did you guys say?

Speaker 7 (00:37):
You know, she it ended where Uh she said that
she would text me, uh when she got home, and
she she she didn't.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
So that's just kind of you know, what what happened there?

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Just like describe everything about the date, Yeah, describe it
to us.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (00:55):
Yeah, So I met her on tender and uh, you
know we had a great time. You know, the uh,
you know, the chemistry was there. You know, we had fun.
You know, we laughed, you know what I'm saying. It
was just a good, good feeling. And you know, me
the way I am, you know, I thought that I would,
you know, impress her. So that's kind of you know,

(01:17):
you every guy does that, right, you know, I thought that, you.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Know, I show her around the city, you know, I
mean I know a lot of people.

Speaker 7 (01:26):
I'm also like the co owner of a club, you know, downtown,
so you know that's that's kind of you know where
it is. And so what we did was took her
to my buddy's bar. And as soon as I got
in there, he uh you know, he owns that bar
and everything, and as soon as we got in there,
he gave us free drinks, uh some basic little bar

(01:48):
food you know, just you know, to set there and
everything and we just talked to me click, you know,
it was it was just really a good, a good
good scenario, man. I mean, yeah, I'm still just kind
of while that I'm calling in even talking about this.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
But so here's the thing.

Speaker 7 (02:05):
We left there and you know, we kind of just
kind of walked and talked and you know, people watch
you know that thing that you do like you know,
on a on a date, and uh so I said
to her and said, hey, listen, you know, do you
want to go to like another hot spot because you know,
I know the chef there and and this chef that's there.
I mean, this is a nice spot. I mean, that's

(02:27):
really a cool spot. It's one of the hotspots in town.
And he's been my friend since childhood. And so you
know a lot of people try to get in there
and everything, and I know people, so we would go
in and as soon as we get in, you know,
they see us the media, you know. So I mean,
you know, that's a place that people try to get into.
And so you know, we were in there, we were

(02:50):
you know, talking about you know, where we are in life,
and you know, just just other things, you know, talking
about wanting to come home to someone, uh you know,
just being a relationship ship or whatever, but you know
something more but like not too heavy, you know what
I mean, kind of keep it light.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
And you know, we we also talked about how commy.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
Like we were both too busy, uh you know for
baggage and drama or whatever.

Speaker 8 (03:13):
You know.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
But here's the thing, and this is where it really
mixes me up.

Speaker 7 (03:19):
After after you know, we ate and everything, and uh,
after dinner, you know, I started to walk he to
a car and she reached out to grab my hand,
you know, like you know, she initiate, like reaching out
grabbing my hand, and so we're holding hands and everything,
and I get her to a car and she kissed me.
You know, she kissed me good night.

Speaker 8 (03:38):
You know.

Speaker 7 (03:38):
She said she you know, had a good time, and
that she would text me. Oh she got home, Like
I said. That was four days ago.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
So you didn't follow up through though, just to be
like did you get home over? You know, sometimes you
forget because you're like, oh my gosh, I had so
much fun. I just washed my face nine nine.

Speaker 8 (03:55):
You know I did.

Speaker 7 (03:57):
I did send a text message, Okay, but I did.
I didn't get anything from her, you know, at all.
You know, it was just like, okay, nothing at all.
And I don't you know, maybe she has a different
phone than what I have, because I can't see if
she read it or whatever.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
I don't I don't have her on.

Speaker 7 (04:13):
Facebook or Instagram or anything, so I can't see if
she's brady nothing like that.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
It's weird, man.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
We'll try to figure it out for you, man.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
We'll play a song come back and then call her
and ask her why she's ghosting you and see if she'll
tell us and see if you want another date after.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Hear why okay, right? Thanks, all right, man, we'll pla
us on come back, get your first Day follow up, Next.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Joaquin is on the phone today for her first date
follow up, and we don't really even know if he's
actually getting ghosted, but we're about to find out if
he is when we call Stephanie to see why she's ghostinghim.
But before we do that, waking, why don't you refresh
everybody's memory about your day with Stephanie.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
Yeah, so, hey, listen, I know people in the city, man,
and uh we we went out to a you know,
a friend of mine's bar. We had some drinks and
then I took her to another hotspot, you know where
you know, we were kind of treated like the ip
and were seated immediately. You know, she she you know,
she reached out and grabbed my hand and as we
walked at the end of the day and and you know,

(05:15):
she you know, kissed me. You know, good night, you know,
and I just haven't heard from her for four days,
and you know, it's the one thing I want to
say is I can't stress enough how much we click,
you know what I'm saying, the stories, and I was
talking to her and telling her I don't think it
scared her away. I mean, it was good that somebody
even gets me, you know. I mean, I just don't know.

(05:36):
I really don't know what it is. And and then
the hand reaching out and kissing me at the end
of the night, that's a sign to me. I mean,
you know, she's beautiful. It was a positive sign, and
I'm drawn to her, so, I you know, I don't know.
I don't know why I'm being ghosted.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Well about the call? Are you ready to go?

Speaker 9 (05:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Hello, I speak to Stephanie. Please.

Speaker 8 (06:06):
This is Stephanie.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Hey, Stephanie, how are you? My name is Jewbell, and
I host a radio show. It's called The Jewbill Show.

Speaker 6 (06:12):
Hie the show.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
Oh Hi, Hi?

Speaker 3 (06:19):
How you doing good? How are you?

Speaker 8 (06:21):
I I'm great.

Speaker 10 (06:23):
I'm wondering what why you're calling.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
It sounds like you listen to the show.

Speaker 8 (06:29):
I do, Yeah, I do. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Well, there's only a few options. You have to choose
from what we're calling. But we did get an email
about you from someone who you're ghosting.

Speaker 8 (06:38):
Ghosting, but that's a strong word.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
His name is Joaquine.

Speaker 8 (06:43):
Oh that's so sweet. I didn't think I was quite ghosting.
I'm okay.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
He told us it in four days since your date,
so it seems like, you know, we weren't sure if
you were.

Speaker 10 (06:56):
No, I'm not like, okay, so I guess I'm just okay.
I would assume that you guys already know how how
the date, weren't We.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
Heard some things.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Yeah, we heard that Joaquin's pretty plugged in the city
and took you to all of his friend's spots. So
you've got VIP treatment.

Speaker 10 (07:11):
Yeah, and you could tell, but like, like not in
a bad way, Like everyone was super nice.

Speaker 8 (07:15):
We got treated super well. That was great.

Speaker 10 (07:19):
It's just that, Okay, So I get that he's like
he he co owns a club and everything, and that's
totally cool. He's actually so like At first, I was
a little worried because I was like, Okay, well he's
gonna be a sleeve bag, but.

Speaker 8 (07:30):
He actually wasn't.

Speaker 10 (07:30):
He's super sweet and smart and very fun to talk to,
and I felt like we had a lot in common.

Speaker 8 (07:36):
But for the first day, one of the places he
took me was a burlesque club.

Speaker 10 (07:41):
Okay, which in and of itself is fine, except it
was a lot closer to like a total.

Speaker 8 (07:48):
Strip club, Like it was full nudity.

Speaker 10 (07:51):
And I'm like, I can't really focus on you while
I'm trying to tell whether that's Brazilian it's fresh, saying yeah,
it looks pretty fresh, and like, do me wrong, Like
I'm not a prude, but I was just like, I
really wasn't expecting that for a first day.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
It's an interesting first date spot that is.

Speaker 8 (08:11):
That's a choice, Yeah, right, that's what I thought. I
was like, man, this is a choice. This does a
lot about like like it was a fun show. I'm
not saying it wasn't good.

Speaker 10 (08:22):
I was just like, I can't really like focus on
you when I got these.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
It is hard to do that, you know, Yeah, really
be into a conversation and in the moment when that's happening.

Speaker 6 (08:34):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
I actually really don't know how I would feel about that.
I don't mind being here, but it is a choice.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
It is I wouldn't from his perspective as a guy,
I would not take a first date to that because
I would assume that you would think that that's all
I want, or you know what I mean, like later,
like later on when we know each other maybe, but yeah, so.

Speaker 10 (08:56):
Like even though I had a nice time and we clicked, like,
I don't know, I just when I got home, I
was thinking about it and he texted me and I
was like, and I know that's why he probably feels
like I coasted him. I mean, I'm just sitting here
and I'm thinking, like, if you're so naive that you're
gonna take me to a strip club on our a
full nudity strip club on our first date, like I
don't That just really made me question, like what happened next?

Speaker 6 (09:19):
Like yeah, like where do you go from here?

Speaker 5 (09:22):
So?

Speaker 8 (09:23):
Yeah, are we going to a brothel?

Speaker 6 (09:27):
I thought you ate dinner afterwards?

Speaker 8 (09:29):
We did, but and we had food there, It's like
it was something wrong. It was like overall it was nice,
but I don't know. It just like makes you question,
like I said, where does this go from here?

Speaker 4 (09:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 8 (09:40):
It just it just threw me off.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Yeah, all right, well you've probably forgot or you did forget,
or you didn't forget and you were just waiting for
the moment.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
But walking is on the phone and let's talk to you.
It might have been a little bit of.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Definitely, you know what, I yeah, it was just weird
that respond to me.

Speaker 7 (10:02):
Uh, And maybe it was a dumb move on my part.
I mean, listen, I I just really thought that, you know,
it would be a good vibe to go to like
a sexy jazz club and and I just wanted to,
you know, take you to a place to impress you.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Sexyz. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
Yeah, I mean I listened to myself. Buddy, maybe I
just shouldn't listen to him. I agree. I guess it
was a dumb move on my part, you know, and
I won't if you.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Didn't know, it wasn't a dumb move on your part,
if you thought it was something else.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
I don't know, there was dumb. I think maybe you
just should have given her a little bit of a
heads up.

Speaker 10 (10:40):
I'm definitely not trying to dumb. I'm you're very far.
I'm literally already using one of the models that you
told me about for like a new project that I'm
working on to like, I'm not I didn't.

Speaker 8 (10:50):
Mean to stay that your dumb. I didn't. I don't
mean it come out that way.

Speaker 7 (10:55):
No, you don't listen like I said, I'm sorry, and
and you know, I want to take you out on
a normal day.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
I guess what traditional normal is?

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I mean normal for you guys.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Now could be really interesting, could Yeah, you have a
new normal.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
The body. Yeah, you know.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
If maybe if you agree, you know, maybe don't.

Speaker 7 (11:15):
We can just probably go to a Brazilian stackhouse and stay.

Speaker 8 (11:22):
I'm one of those Brazilians.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Stephanie.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Would you like to go out with Walking again? We'll
pay for it whatever you guys do. And now I'm
just interested to see what happens next.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
You know what.

Speaker 10 (11:32):
I appreciate your apology, and I know we all mess up,
so like I'll tell you what, Yes, but you have
to take the next six steps and take me to
your club.

Speaker 8 (11:43):
Okay, okay, but I want to see it. You talked
about it.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
I want to all right, Okay, cool, Well, congratulations Walking,
you got another date.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
And Stephanie, that's clear you're understanding like that.

Speaker 6 (12:00):

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
