First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at Advocateslaw dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Really is on the phone today for our first date
follow up, and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Lucas.
So in a few minutes we're gonna call him see
if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and maybe
get her on another date. But first, literally, how long
has it been since you heard from Lucas?
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yea, so it's been two weeks exactly.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
Okay, have you reached out to him?
Speaker 5 (00:24):
No?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
I kind of feel like the guy she reached out first.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Okay, why do you want to get hold of him? Likeause,
if it's been two weeks? Like, was the date just
like that good?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Well?
Speaker 5 (00:35):
I said it was okay, Like it wasn't that great,
But I thought I did everything right, and he made
it a point to tell me that he really want
to see me again. So I'm just kind of wondering
why he hasn't reached out.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
Right, Well, tell us and tell us about the date, Lily,
what happened?
Speaker 5 (00:50):
Yeah, well, I haven't been on a date in a while.
I'm kind of like a homebody. So my friends were
saying that they needed to get me out. They met
this school guy at a neighborhood bar named Lucas. So
I met up with him for a songria and app
a QBR.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
And it was fun.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
But you know, he talked about himself a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
And I don't think I did anything wrong because I
didn't have time to say anything inappropriate because he was
talking about him the whole time kind of and you want.
Speaker 6 (01:17):
To see him again.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
Well, I think that sometimes when people start talking about
themselves incessantly, it's almost a defense mechanism, right, like you
get kind of right. Yeah, So we had two different
options that he was nervous or he's extremely arrogant. I'm
not sure what was your take on that, Lily.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
No, maybe I thought maybe he was nervous, and maybe
I didn't react to him, like maybe I should have
been like ooh in ah about his whatever he was
saying a little bit more. I could have been more engaging.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
So you think that would be the that's the problem.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
I don't know. I mean, I really would like to know.
That's kind of why I'm going in.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Well, tell us a little bit more about the date,
like was there any awkward moments or anything like that.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
Well, he wanted to split the bill, which I'm always
kind of like, I don't know how I feel about that.
I feel like the guy should usually pay. But it
was kind of a casual thing, so I was like, okay.
But I also think that when guys want split the bill,
it's kind of like, oh, do you not want to.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
See me again? So that was one signe but I
didn't read too much into it.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
I mean, we had, you know, pretty good conversations. M h.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
It was like a fixed out of him.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
Date six out of him? You still want to call
him back?
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, I guess my ego's a little bit hurt.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
Maybe I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
So this is about the principle, not the date. It's like, Okay,
you're the buddy that had the nerve that goes to me,
and you want to know why.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, exactly, that's why.
Speaker 6 (02:45):
How did your date end?
Speaker 3 (02:48):
You know, he just hugged.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
He didn't try to go in for like an awkward kiss,
which I think is very respectful on a first date.
And again he said that he really wanted to see
me again, which I was, you know, flattered, And then
he walks me to my car.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Okay, and you said that you haven't reached out to
him because you think that he should reach out, right.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yeah, And he also said that he was going to
reach out if he wanted to see it.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Had he reached out, Lily, would you have gone on
that second date?
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (03:16):
I always wanted to give people a second because you know,
people get nervous.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
I was a little nervous.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
They do say you should go on a date with
somebody three times before you make a decision about how
you feel about them. Science and my mother both say them.
I agree. I'm just saying that's what i've heard.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Okay, Well, we'll play a song come back, and then
call him and see if you tell us why he's
ghosting you, and maybe.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
Get you another date.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Okay, thank you, if you even want one. Maybe they
just be able to find out why you're getting ghosted.
All right, Well, play a song, come back, get your
first date follow.
Speaker 1 (03:49):

she is okay with.
Speaker 6 (04:06):
I was normally I say that.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Really likes But Lily doesn't really really really like Lucas.
She just wanted to date with him. She's getting ghosted
for two weeks now, so we're about to call him
see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and
maybe get her another date if she wants one. But Lily,
why don't you refresh everybody's memory on your situation?
Speaker 5 (04:23):
Yeah? Sure, So I met up with this guy Lucas
for like a cute date, and he talked about himself
a lot, but at the end he said he really
wanted to see me again and he was going to
reach out.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
And it's been two weeks.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Okay, you ready for us to call him? Yeah, here
we go. Hi masspeak to Lucas please. Yeah, Hey Lucas,
how are you. My name is Jewbell and I'm calling
from a radio show.

It's a radio show.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
And then also we just a segment on it called
the First Aid follow Up, where if you go out
on a date with somebody and ghost them. That person
can email us to get you on the phone and
ask why you're ghosting them. So we got an email
about you from somebody you want to know who?
Speaker 7 (05:21):
Sure?
Speaker 6 (05:22):
Okay, her name is Lily.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Do you remember Lily?
Speaker 7 (05:27):
Yeah? Yeah, of course?
Speaker 6 (05:30):
Thoughts on Lily.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
Uh she thinks I'm ghosting her? Mm hmm are you
I don't know? I don't. I don't call girls after
a date. I wait for them to call me.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Can I ask why?
Speaker 7 (05:43):
Yeah? Because I don't like to play games. I like,
I don't want to girl plays games, So like, I
don't want to like how many days you're supposed to wait? Not,
It's just a stupid game. I don't need that. So
I want somebody who wants to hang out with me. So,
I mean, if anybody's getting ghosted, it's me here, right Huh?
Speaker 6 (05:58):
Okay, did did you like your date with her?
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (06:02):
It was fine. She didn't seem like that. You know,
I'm like, I'm an open book. Asked me questions. You know,
she didn't to have much to say.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
Okay, did it seemed like she wasn't into you?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Really?
Speaker 7 (06:13):
I mean it was fine, it was you know, it wasn't.
It wasn't like a big spark, but it was fine,
like I would go with her again.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Okay, that's what I was gonna ask if you call
me if she did. Okay, interesting, okay, cool, Well, Lucas,
Lily is actually on the phone listing and wants to
talk to you.
Speaker 7 (06:28):
Hi. Oh oh hey, hi, Lucas. This yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Hey, look, Lucas, she didn't more than call you. We
can't do too.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Hey.
Speaker 7 (06:42):
Okay, well, I mean this, this feels like the game
to end all games. Man, I don't I don't think
this is for me. We're doing a radio show after
one date. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
I'm not a game player at all.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
I was just really curious why you didn't text me
after you then you really wanted to see me again
and you were going to reach out.
Speaker 7 (07:03):
You didn't text me either. I mean, it feels like
it goes both ways.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Well, Lucas, actually you're the one that's playing games because
you're waiting to see if I'm going to text you.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
I mean, you could just have texted. This feels like
you're doing games right back. I feel like this is
these are your.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Games to get clarity and communication.
Speaker 7 (07:22):
Look, I don't know what you want? Like, you didn't text,
You didn't say anything, So seems like you know want.
I want to be with someone who really wants to
talk to me. That's enough, That's what I'm looking for.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Don't you see it kind of as a game because
you didn't text either?
Speaker 6 (07:33):
You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 7 (07:34):
What it feels like now, you're trying to do mine games.
I'm just not interested in this.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Yeah. No, I'm not trying.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
You're playing games.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, now, I think we're all playing games. But if
you want someone to like you, shouldn't you also like
them show them interest as well.
Speaker 7 (07:48):
I mean, I'm interested in everybody, So I'm looking for
people who are interested in me.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Oh okay, How am I supposed to know that you're
interested if you don't text or call me?
Speaker 7 (07:59):
Am I supposed to know you're interested? If you don't
text your call me?
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Hey, would you guys? I'd like to go on a
second date. We'll pay for it?
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah, actually I would?
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Oh what you would?
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (08:14):
Ye, Lucas, you want to go on a date too?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (08:20):
Sure, it sounds good. You're gonna pay for them?
Speaker 6 (08:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (08:23):
So, now do we both feel confident that the other
person is interested in the other person or do we
need to text again after this call to say I'm interested,
I want to see you. We can go on the
counter three you can text each other at the same time.
Speaker 7 (08:34):
Yeah, I mean it sounds like she's interested. That's what
I was looking for. So I think he solved it.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
All right, And now Lily, you know that he was
interested too, and you'm glad to find that out. Okay, well, well,
enjoy your date and you guys have a lot to
talk about.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
I'm sure, yeah, good luck on that.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
We should appreciate this out now. Then I guess you
want to text me.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Only you know what. Sure, but you have to text
me back after.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
Isn't that what you do when?
Speaker 2 (09:03):
