Speaker 1 (00:00):
First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at advocatesla dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Nicole is on the phone today for a first date
follow up. She's getting ghosted by a date she went
on with a dude named Kyle. Nicole, thanks for coming
on the show and agreeing to do this. Before we
get into your date and stuff, how long has it
been since you heard from Kyle.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
It's been about a week. I haven't heard from him.

Speaker 4 (00:21):
I'm thinking I don't know if maybe he lost my
number or maybe it was something that like I said
during the date.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
But I'm afraid that I am getting ghosted.

Speaker 5 (00:31):
So let's go backwards and can you tell us about
your date?

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Yeah, it was this really nice dinner. It was an
Italian place that was like up on a rooftop. It
was really neat and like there's a great view. The
food was really yummy. I felt like the conversation was good,
and we even talked about like how we might go
on like a second date to this like speakeasy that

(00:56):
I know of, and like he's really interesting, and now
it's just like I didn't hear anything back.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Tell us more about the date. Was there anything awkward?
That happened or something that could have made him not
want to go on another date with you.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
I mean he seemed a little just quiet at times.
I mean maybe I was just talking too much or
taking too many pictures, like or something.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
A rooftop that's a path, right, I just don't understand.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Like I just I thought we had a good time.
I mean, he was a little shy, but it seemed
like we were. We had setting up plans to see
each other again.

Speaker 6 (01:36):
Was he involved in the setting up of the plans
or was it kind of more just a like a okay,
yeah kind of a thing.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Now that I think about it, maybe it was more
like an okay, yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
Did you guys kiss or have any type of physical interaction?

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Yeah, I mean like he he kissed me good night.
It was like a brief little like tech on the lips.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
It wasn't anything like super intimate, but the conversation flowed
pretty good. Like I found out that he's also like
the youngest child and his family.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
We bonded over that.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
We bonded over that and the fact that we both
were the babies and kind of got our own way.
He enjoyed his beer and his lasagna. That they made
and I had chicken palm and and some wine. It
was like just like the food was flowing, the conversation
was flowing.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
We like the same music. It just it just really
seemed like we were vibing together.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
And then it's just like an awful feeling to get ghosted,
you know, after having such a good time.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I forget. Did you say where you met him?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
We met on a Tinder and on Tinder?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
So do you think maybe he was just trying to
hook up and you didn't hook up? So that's why.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
That that could be.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
I mean, I I don't like to put out on
the first date, so I just I wanted to keep
it simple, and I thought it was nice that it
was just like a cute little peck on the cheek
and there of course there was like flirty banter back
and forth, like I'd like rush brush his arm and
like you know, like he was just like the vibes
are there.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
So it's just I don't I don't get it.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Did he try to hook up a few other than
the kiss?

Speaker 3 (03:15):
No, that was it.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
It was like he even was the one that kind
of like ended the kiss, Like I was like kind
of just like standing there still like kind of wanting
more but at the same time wanting to play hard
to get sure.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Sure. Okay, So what was the last thing he said
to you?

Speaker 6 (03:28):
Then?

Speaker 5 (03:29):
Like, right before you guys were like bye, he.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Said that he'd be in touch and and that I'd
hear from him.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
So that's rude, all right, Yeah, we'll try to figure
it out for you. We'll play a song come back,
and then call him and ask him why he's ghosting you,
and then maybe get you another date if you want
another one.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Okay, okay, great, thank you.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yep, we'll play a song come back. Here your first
day follow up next first.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Day to follow up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at ADVOCATESLA dot com.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
If you're just joining us for today's first follow up.
Nicole is on the phone and she's getting ghosted by
a dude named Kyle. So we're about to call him
see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and
maybe get her another date. Nicole, before we give him
a phone call, why don't you refresh everybody's memory about
your date with Kyle.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
So, Kyle and I went to this Italian restaurant on
top of her rooftop with a great view. We had
really good food, good drinks, great conversation, and then he
told me he'd be in touch with me, and he'd
never got in touch.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
All right, well, are you ready to give him a
call and see if we can figure it out?

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Yeah? Absolutely? All right?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Here we going to Dillas number right now. I'm I
speak to Kyle please.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
This is Kyle.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
This is Jebel from the Jewbel Show. It's a radio show.
I'm not sure if you've heard of it.

Speaker 6 (04:53):
It's gonna get weirder because there's a lot of people
on the phone right now. I'm Nina on the show.
Also Hi, and I'm Victoria. So there's three of us
on the phone with you right now. We're talking to Kyle.

Speaker 7 (05:04):
And this is the radio yep. Okay, I mean I've
heard of the show. But okay, did I did? I
want a contact?

Speaker 3 (05:10):
What happened?

Speaker 2 (05:12):
So we do a segment called the First Day follow Up.
That's where if you go on a date with someone
and you ghost them, they can email us to get
you on the phone and find out why you recently
went out with a girl named Nicole.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
I'm assuming it's because I didn't call her back.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Is that why you guys are calling me?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah, she really liked you, and she thought the date
was great, and she wants to know why you're ghosting her.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
I'm I'm surprised she even knows what I look like. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (05:39):
She she spent the whole time on her phone. You know,
it's it didn't keep her from talking. She still talked,
but she was just always looking down at her phone
and taking pictures of where we were and taking pictures
of view and taking pictures of her food, and you know, oh,
I'm this is so great, and I'm going posting this
and look at that. Oh man, this is so you know,

(05:59):
And I probably to talk to her about things, like,
you know, found out that you know, she's an only child.
I tried to or not the old only child, but
the youngest like me, and and and and tried to
talk to her about stuff, but it always went back
to that phone and whatever the heck she was posting everywhere.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
You felt like she wasn't interested at all, and she
was just hanging out on her phone all the time.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yeah, like you know, I was.

Speaker 7 (06:23):
I tried to talk to her about normal things about
music and and you know, families and stuff. But it
always went right back to, oh, the views amazing, let
me get a picture of this, and oh, I've gotta
let it post it here and so on, and then
she starts ordering like all the expensive drinks, and she
ordered more.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Than one appetizer, which is fine, I've got a job.
I don't mind spending money. I have no problem spending money.

Speaker 7 (06:47):
But I felt like she was just ordering it to
take pictures of it and post it on social media,
you know, like she had like two bites of each appetizer,
but just.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Made sure to take pictures of it first and post it.

Speaker 7 (06:57):
And I'm like, then she's telling me about, oh, I've
got this other place I like to go to and
you know, some little place and we could go there next.
And I'm like, yeah, okay.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
Sure, I'm not saying you're lying, Kyle, but like, are
you sure you're not being overly dramatic and sensitive to
like a couple of pictures, you know how some people
do that and my mom does that, Like if I
take a picture somewhere, she's like, oh, you're on the
phone the whole time, like it was two minutes.

Speaker 7 (07:19):
So there's the difference between just taking some pictures and
then posting them later and still looking at the person
you're dining with.

Speaker 8 (07:26):
And engaging in conversation with him, versus taking pictures and
then looking down at your phone and doing, you know,
whatever she's doing and posting it wherever she's You want
to take some pictures and stuff and then do it.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Later, that's that's great.

Speaker 7 (07:38):
But she didn't engage with me at all, and I
just eventially just kind of turned off at the end.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
That would be a turn off for me. If someone did, like,
wouldn't look away from their phone the whole time during
a date.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Meteo, I'd probably have a hard time not saying anything there.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah, well, thanks for honest with us, man, appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Yeah, no problem.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
And now I need to be honest with you because
Nicole is actually on the phone this time on it
like to talk on it, listening and she wants to
talk to you.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Oh, I definitely didn't content.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Oh well, Hi Kyle, Hello, I mean like I'm a
really great multitasker.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I was listening to like everything you said.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
I don't understand why you thought I was being excessive
on the phone.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
I just like to blog, like my daily life.

Speaker 7 (08:29):
I like to have conversations with people that I take
out to dinner and look them in the face and
be in the moment and connect and not you know,
sit and watch them blog.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
I guess. I mean, I just I feel like I
like to be in touch with like the.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Internet, like and like show them like how great of
a time I'm having? Like I thought you were having
a great time too. We I mean, we were still
talking even though my phone was involved.

Speaker 7 (08:53):
Right, even though you weren't looking at me, you were
looking at the phone. I like to actually engage with
other human beings. I mean, I get I get the Internet,
I get social media, I get blogging, I get all that.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
But we're on the first date. Let's talk to each other.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
That's kind of a fair reclass.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Yeah, Like, I mean, you took me to this amazing
rooftop dinner with like a beautiful view. How could you
not expect me to want to take pictures and post
them and share them with my friends and stuff Like
I It's like it is an awesome view, all right?

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Not note to self. Take her to Burger King next time,
right on?

Speaker 7 (09:30):
No, no sweats, We'll hit the drive through and eat
in the car in the parking lot.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
There you go, and then we can talk to each other.
That sounds like you're going to I'm mad. Yeah, Actually,
you know what, I might just blog about this. I'm
shocked you're not doing it right now. I you know,
I can't believe.

Speaker 7 (09:52):
That you're not doing it as we speak, because you
did it the whole time we were together.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
You don't even know how many followers I have a
lot do. I'm gonna love this topic.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
This is gonna go viral. Oh can't I can't wait
looking forward to it. Yep?

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Why not make another date? Go viral?

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Kyle?

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Would you like to go on another date with Nicole?
Will pay for it?

Speaker 7 (10:14):
You know it wouldn't be a whole lot because I'd
apparently take her to Burger King.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
So, but I'm going to pass. I appreciate the offer.
Apparently I'm gonna blow up now.

Speaker 7 (10:22):
I'm gonna go viral and put me on blast or
whatever the hell she's gonna do.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
But what if she promises not to put you in
the blog?

Speaker 3 (10:31):
I really don't care. Whoever all these followers are. I'm
not one of them, so I'm not too concerned about it.
All right, Well, you're missing out.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
You have no idea like how how much popularity I
have over the internet You're just.

Speaker 7 (10:43):
Missing Basically, I'm pretty sure I'm not missing out.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
I got enough to see what it was. I'll pass. Thanks, Sure,
go go go tell all the other girls.

Speaker 7 (10:53):
That I take you out to a super beautiful, wonderful
high end restaurant with great views.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
I you know, yeah, go right ahead, it's not a problem.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Feel free to put that out there.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
You should be concerned because after I post about you
and it goes viral, you're never gonna get another date again.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Well I I, well, yeah, okay, we'll see how that goes.
I think I'll be just fine.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
So I guess there's no second date. Then no, there
really wasn't a first date.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
