First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at Advocates Law dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Sean is on the phone today for our first Day
follow up and he's getting ghosted by Megan. So we're
going to see if we can help him out, see
if we can figure out why he's getting ghosted and
maybe get him another date. Sean, before we get into
your dating and stuff, so, how long has it been
since you heard from Meghan?
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (00:20):
It's it's been a while, maybe like a week, week
and a half ago.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Oh wow?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
And how many times have you tried to reach out
to her in that time?
Speaker 4 (00:29):
It's been hard for me to keep track, Like just
just like a handful of times I've been trying not
to come off to best for and every now and
then I'm just wondering, like, did something go wrong? Here?
Was it?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Me?
Speaker 4 (00:38):
So?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Why don't we talk about the date? How did that go?
Speaker 4 (00:41):
As well? We met on Tinder for some context, I've
been pretty busy in the last year. I'm trying to
finish a master's in literature.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Right, that's so awesome.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
Megan, that's her name. She's a student at another college
for journalism. Because I'm I'm a professor out of school
for journalism. So I thought it was like, you know,
a great start, like a lot for us to talk about.
And I took her to a nice place, like just
like a nice you know steakhouse. Wasn't too much, but
like you know, it was it was like some nice atmosphere, right,
(01:12):
and I felt like she was enjoying herself. There wasn't
really a lull in the conversation. We have the flow going,
and I never really felt like it was weird or
I didn't feel socially awkward. It's been a while since
I dated, so I took it as a really really
good time. She's smart, she gives like really nice perspectives
(01:35):
on like you know, what we do and it. But
but like it's cool because we didn't just talk shop,
like we got a little bit into our dating histories
and you know it was it was like really balanced,
like we we didn't overshare too much. But but it's
felt like a really promising start of intimacy. I guess
Forela like a better terms. She thanked me a lot,
(01:56):
and you know she also like was out of the
data pool for a while and just enjoyed the company.
You know, we were there for a while, like the
servers were trying to like move us out.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
So did you guys kiss?
Speaker 4 (02:09):
She? She kissed me when I walked her to her car,
which that like she she initiated that, which I feel like,
if you've had fun, if you want to see somebody again,
that's something that like you go out of your way
to do.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Yeah, you'd hope.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
So yeah, she said that she'd call me after she
had class.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Now I'm just confused.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
All signs points to her liking you a lot, Like,
is there anything that you can think of that would
be a reason she's ghosting you?
Speaker 4 (02:36):
I can't imagine. I mean, we we had like just
enough in common. I don't know if maybe like that
was too familiar. But I don't know. Maybe I'm just.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Ob you're definitely overthinking it. But you can't think of
any specific instance that happened on the date that might
have been awkward at all.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
No, I can't think of anything. I mean, maybe we
were like at a restaurant too long. I don't know
if maybe I came across as like bad at time management.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
I doubt that, but maybe.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Or something, But that's the most I can think of.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Maybe think back to the conversation, were there any awkward pauses?
Speaker 4 (03:09):
I mean, if I really, if I really had to scrange,
like maybe I came off like I didn't know what
I was doing at my again, like maybe maybe I
stuttered when I order the food or something, and like
maybe I just seemed too nervous or like because I
don't think I came off too strong, now that I
think about it. I was reaching for my drink and
(03:32):
I took a false taker by accident, it did, and
it or like I almost brank the saw.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
I know, I didn't absolutely do it, which.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
You know, probably for the better, but like we laughed
about it a little bit because you know, it's ridiculous.
But I don't know if maybe that came across as
like I was too too like clumsy or something like that.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Or maybe you're a weird I would like to drink salt,
you know, maybe some people are into that.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
Yeah, a falt drinking guy. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
We'll try to figure it out for you. Play a
song come back, and then call her and see if
she'll tell us why she's ghosting you and maybe get
you another date. Okay, cool, thank you, Play a song,
come back, and get your first Date follow up.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Next is dual show First Date follow Up powered by
the Advocates Injury Attorneys online at Advocateslaw dot com.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Right in the middle of your first Date follow Up
and if you're just joining us, Sean is on the
phone and we're about to call Megan who's been ghosting him,
and see if she'll tell us why and maybe get
him another date if he still wants one. But before
we do that, Sean, why don't you catch everybody up
on your date with Megan.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Megan and I met on tender. We both work for
schools and journalism. Took her to a night's plate. Seemed
like it was fun, We had a lot to talk about.
Wasn't that awkward? We were both out of the dating
game for a while, so we had that in common.
Other than almost drinking as salt shape here, I felt
like it went pretty smooth. And she even kissed me
(05:04):
and said that she'd call me, that she'd called me.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
After And it's been like a week and a half
any for nothing?
Speaker 4 (05:10):
Yeah, a week and a halfpened, not like I texted
a few times, but like nothing. I haven't gotten anything
for her.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Well, are you ready to call her.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Yeah, all right, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Okay, here we go. Hello, Hi, me I speak to Meghan. Please.
This is she Megan. How are you? My name is
Jubel hosts the radio show and it's called The Jebel Show. Hi,
(05:40):
I'm Mina also here on the show. Hi, I'm Victoria.
How are you?
Speaker 3 (05:46):
I'm good? How are you?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I'm really good. Thank you for asking. It's a pleasure
to speak with you, Meghan, it really is. We're so
excited you answered.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
I'm sure the pleasure is also mine.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
So we do a segment on the on our show.
It's called the First Dight follow Up. That's where if
you go out with someone on a date and then
you end up ghosting them, that person can email us
to get you on the phone and ask why you're
ghosting if you're the person who's ghosting, and so that
would be who you are right now, Megan in this
whole thing, Are you ghosting somebody Megan that you're aware of? No,
(06:19):
we got an email about you from Sean. Oh is
that a good response? He says he really liked you,
and it's been like a week and a half and
you haven't hit him up. So is there a reason.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Oh my gosh, I feel so bad now. I feel
like really guilty for not calling him back. I mean, honestly,
I had a really good time with him, and we
had a lot in common. Like he's teaching journalism. I'm
finishing out grad school for journalism, so I feel like
I learned a lot, like you're just talking to him
and kind of like I feel like I have some
(06:55):
good ideas for how to start off my career when
I graduate the year and stuff, but which is like
so embarrassing honestly, And I feel really bad because I
generally like Sean, but like basically i've been in school.
I'm just like very busy with school right now, and
I don't really have a lot of time to work,
and so money is really tight for me. And I
(07:18):
don't know, I guess you know that saying like a
girl's got to eat.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Oh oh, I feel like I know where this is going.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
It's yeah, I feel like such a bad person. But
I've sort of been occasionally using dates to like go
get a nice meal.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
I knew it because I'm like living on ramen and
rice and beans and stuff right now, So I have occasionally,
like not often, but like a handful of times have
just like said yes to a date so I could
go eat somewhere with them.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Honestly, I wouldn't even feel bad about it, because I
know a lot of people that have done this, and
some of them don't even have the excuse that they're
in school. They're just lazy and broke. So how come
you have responded though, if you actually did like him?
Speaker 4 (08:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
I think I just felt guilty because it's like the
energy I kind of went into the date with was
just like was sort of for the meal ticket. But
then I did have a good time, but I didn't
like I don't know, I felt like I became invested
like part way through the date, but at the beginning
I didn't start out that way because I didn't really
my intensions were different.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
I think I just have this glingering guilt around it,
and so it's I just feel really bad and it's
sort of like I feel ashamed.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
So I didn't Well, you're also a good person, it
sounds like minus the you know, you just got a
survive thing.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
You know, how like people remind you of bad things
you've done. You don't really think you're reminded of it,
like it's kind of like it's kind of like that.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
I guess it's not that bad, is it?
Speaker 3 (08:49):
No? Maybe not?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I mean, I guess nobody likes to be ghosted. But
don't beat yourself up about it. Why would you kiss
him though, if, like you knew that you weren't going
to go out on a second date with him.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
I think it sort of felt like, you know, thank
you for but I can see where it would be
like misleading. But also he has a good kisser. I'm
not mad about it.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah. Okay, well, Megan, thank you for being honest. That
good kisser named Sean is on the phone, by the way.
He's been listening the whole time. He wants to talk
to you.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Hi, Meghan. Hi, oh man, Okay, you must think I'm awful. Hi,
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
I don't know. I just think this whole thing.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Really was up sir. How you were going to respond
to that? But that's a good one.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, for look, I'm a writer. I
overthink things. There is just like a bunch of stories
I made up in my head. But I just did
not think this was what was happening, you know, I
this is a lot. I don't. I don't know how
(10:05):
to feel. I mean, look, I feel used. I'm gonna
be honest, I feel used. But at the same time,
I get where you're coming from.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Making this is just but you feel used because Sean
you were used food but he got a free kiss.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Though, I mean, you're not wrong. I definitely did. I
do feel like so I'm I am really sorry, and yeah,
I think it's like totally justified to feel that way.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
I just feel like we actually connected. Do you feel
that way, Like was it more than just a meal
that somebody paid for you? Or I mean, at this point,
what you have to lose? Like what was what's what happened?
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Megan? Would you like to go out with Sean Agan
on another date? We'll pay for it?
Speaker 3 (10:59):
So okay, if I say yes, would you be able?
Because I really I did actually have a really nice time,
and I agree, I think we had a lot to
talk about. But like, would this knowledge now of our
first date kind of linger for you or would you?
I mean.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
It's a running conversation for later, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Yes, it would be a very interesting story people if
we did end up continuing to see each other, you know, you.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
Did say I was a good kisser.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
And you know that's the truth because I said it
before I knew you were on the line.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
You're right. I mean, would you like to go out
again with me? And would you kiss me again?
Speaker 3 (11:52):
You know, I think I would love a redemption arc
for myself, so yeah I would, I would. Okay.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Congratulations Sean, you got another date? Yay?
Speaker 3 (12:05):
Okay, Yeah, thanks for beings so cool.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
And Megan, congratulations got another meal?
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Perfect. I'm going to cancel my other date.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
He's been so busy. Megan, bring back those breadsticks.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
I'm kidding. I'm kidding, but yeah, maybe we'll get a talk.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
