Author unknown ~ Imagine this … there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening, it deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out ALL OF IT, of course!!!!

Each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night, it is written off as lost, whatever you have failed to invest for a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day, it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. The loss is yours if you fail to use the day's deposits. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow." You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it to get the utmost health, happiness, and success from it! The clock is running. Make the most of today. How did you spend your $86,400 yesterday? How much of the $86,400 have you spent today? How will you spend the $86,400 tomorrow? More importantly, how did you spend it? Are you satisfied with it? Proud of it? Are you ashamed of it? Would you like to change it? One must ask, have we achieved our goals? Have we spent our daily allocation wisely? Can we do better? The answer is YES. It is always yes. Everyone can always do better. In the future, what principles should we foster? What legacy do we hope to leave our children? My Father raised me on the overriding premise that “Doing the right thing can never be wrong, though doing the right things is not always easy.” I have strived to live my life based on all decisions, small or big, on this premise. Upon this premise, I strive daily to “Be the change I wish to see in the world!” So, where do we go from here? Let me suggest this: Welcome to Flight #2024. As we prepare for take-off, please ensure your Attitude and Blessings are secured and locked upright. All self-destructive devices should be turned off at this time. All negativity, hurt, and discouragement should be put away. Should we lose altitude under pressure during the flight, reach up, and pull down a prayer? Faith will automatically activate prayers. Once your Faith is activated, you can assist other passengers. There will be NO BAGGAGE allowed on this flight. The Captain (GOD, that is) has cleared us for takeoff. Destination GREATNESS from the courthouse to the White House. Will you book your flight with us? I’ve already purchased my ticket, I’m buckled in and ready for take-off! Let’s make this happen!! I close with a video for your departure! Thank you all for your support!

Who am I? My name isElgie McCardell, and I'm the West
Virginia State Chair And throughout the electioncycle, we will be bringing to you
these podcasts about issues, candidates andtopics that are of import during the twenty
twenty four cycle. Why do wedo this? Why should we do this?

(02:00):
Because you, as voters need tobe informed about the candidates, the
issues, and important topics as twentytwenty four is a huge, monumental,
historical and important election. Where canyou find me? You can find me
on your iHeart app and the Flighttwenty twenty four is the name of the

(02:21):
podcast. We welcome you to joinus monthly as we cover these topics and
would like to just start the wholepodcast series with some general knowledge and general
thought provoking issues. So I've onceheard this quote, author unknown, but
I've used it in many of myspeeches because I think it puts things in

(02:46):
perspective on people's daily lives and whataffects your daily lives. So imagine that
there's a bank that credits your accounteach morning with eighty six four hundred dollars.
It carries no balance from day today. Every every night it deletes
whatever part of the balance you didn'tuse. What would you do you draw
it all out? Of course, each of us has such a bank,

(03:08):
and its name is time. Everymorning you get eighty six thousand, four
hundred seconds to use. Every night, it writes off whatever you didn't use.
If you fail to invest for goodpurpose, then it's gone. It
carries over no balance and it allowsno overdraft. Each day it opens up

(03:30):
a new account for you. Eachnight it burns the remains. If you
fail to use today's deposits, theloss is yours. Same thing applies in
everyday life. There is no goingback, There is no drawing against tomorrow.
You must live in the present ontoday's deposits. Invest it so as

(03:52):
to get the most of health, happiness, and success. The clock is
running, and we need to makethe most of every day. How did
you spend your eighty six thousand, four hundred yesterday? How much of the
eighty six four hundred have you spenttoday? How much of it will you
spend tomorrow? Most importantly, howdid you spend it? Are you satisfied

(04:14):
with it? Proud of it?Ashamed of it? Would you like to
change it? Well, there's alwaysthat opportunity, and you can always do
it. We need to draw onthose eighty six thousand, four hundred seconds
that we have each day. Mydad always said to me that use each

(04:36):
day to do the right thing.Doing the right thing can never be wrong,
though doing the right thing is notalways easy. I've strived to live
my life basing all decisions, smallor big, on this premise, and
upon this premise I like to liveon the other daily quote by Gandhi be

(04:56):
the change you wish to see inthe world. So where do we go
from here? Why is this electionso important? Well, we have two
main elections coming up in West Virginia. One is the primary on May fourteenth
of twenty twenty four. The secondis the general election on November fifth,
twenty twenty four. So where arewe going? What are we doing?

(05:20):
I like I put together phrase quotesay in May remember in November the twenty
twenty fourth primary election is on thehorizon and the general election will follow quickly.
In these very historic and crucial elections, constituents must be diligent and cautious
to make informed choices when they casttheir votes. Quote say in May unquote

(05:45):
that tried and true conservatives should representus in nonpartisan races. Quote remember in
November unquote that our republic is atstake. What is the state Party's role.
Well, the State Party's role duringthis crucial history election includes promoting our
candidates, doing no harm, facilitatinga process that educates all voters so that

(06:06):
they can make informed decisions regarding thedirection of the state of West Virginia on
May fourteenth, twenty twenty four, and the direction of our country on November
fifth, twenty twenty four. Fromthe courthouse, judicial and nonpartisan races in
May to the State House and WhiteHouse in November, every office plays a

(06:27):
role in the preservation of our freedom. So this is why we're having this
podcast. For the next few months. We will be introducing to you hot
topics, issues and candidates. Wehope to have candidates on this podcast to
talk to you and express to youwhat their particular positions are on particular issues.

(06:48):
Now more than ever. It isimperative that we, as citizens of
the United States and of West Virginia, step up to the plate, registered
to vote, bank or votes early, work the polls, vote for what
is right, and most importantly, vote for the American way of decency,
justice and respect. Backing up alittle bit to stepping up to the plate,

(07:12):
there are so many things that youcan do. People always ask,
how can I help? How canI become involved? It's very easy,
have a register to vote party,go and register to work the polls.
It's very important. These are allvolunteer positions and we very much thank all
of our poll workers for doing that. Bank or votes early. A lot

(07:36):
of times West Virginians and also nationallyRepublicans have always thought, I'm going to
go on the day of voting, and I don't know about everybody else,
but things come up. The weather'sbad, a kid gets sick, something
at work comes up, you getsick. There are a lot of things
that could potentially prevent you from goingto the polls. We need you to

(07:59):
vote and vote early. And thereason we do that is because those who
we know are going to vote willvote for Republicans, and we would like
to not have to chase you downon election day to make you go vote.
We'd like you to go vote earlyso that those who are maybe not
so sure that they're going to vote, or maybe not so sure who they're

(08:20):
going to vote for, we canchase them down and encourage them to vote
on the actual election day. Sobank your vote, Bank it early,
Vote for what is right. Rememberwhich candidates represent the virtues of decency,
justice, and respect. Our countrytoday just seems to be missing so many
of those core values. Remember whichcandidates have taken a stance and proven their

(08:45):
leadership throughout their entire time in officeor within their daily lives. You know
who they are. Just take alook, and most importantly, remember,
a chameleon does not change its coreby changing its color. It merely takes
on a color to preserve its existence. Voters in West Virginian across the country

(09:07):
who identify as Republican do so fora reason. The Republican Party believes in
promoting liberty, economic prosperity, personalresponsibility, conservative principles, and the preservation
of family values in the American dream. Where are those things? Remember those
things when you go to vote.Remember those things when you are doing your

(09:31):
own due diligence in examining what candidatesactually stand for. At a minimum,
voters expect the Republican leaders, electedofficials, and candidates to subscribe to these
values, and voters also find thatto be the case. In West Virginia.
The Republican Party has experienced unprecedented growthin the recent years, and we

(09:54):
certainly welcome voters and public servants whojoined the party as a matter of policies
principles. Unfortunately, because the Republicannomination for public office in West Virginia has
become so coveted, voters must bespecially vigilant to ensure that the Republican candidates
for whom they vote are Republicans forthe right reason. It's November twenty twenty

(10:18):
three. We're a year out fromthe general election. As we begin our
countdown to an election which can changethe trajectory of our republic, we must
remember in November that the Biden administrationis a catastrophe and threatens not only our
nation but world peace. Its criminalenterprise built on self preservation, self dealing,

(10:39):
and profit at the expense of ourcountry can be characterized as nothing short
of treason. The weaponization of thejustice system against political opponents is especially concerning.
We are not a third world country. We are the beacon on the
hill. We are the light towhich all other countries look. As the

(11:03):
Biden consyndicate profits, our country continuesto be compromised by open borders, catering
to China and feeding countries who seekto destroy our freedoms and way of life.
Over the past month, Iran backedHamas terrorists began executing a deliberate and
barbaric attack on Israeli civilians and soldiers, firing thousands of rockets and murdering innocence

(11:26):
in their home and on the streets. These attacks are reprehensible and we must
stand for our greatest ally their rightto exist and certainly to defend themselves.
Hamas is a terrorist at organization whichmust be eliminated. The choice is not
one of partisanship, but one ofgood versus evil. Voting for democratic policies

(11:48):
bolsters, encourages, and supports chaos. It cannot and should not be tolerated.
Yet the current administration is pandering tothe chaos which has been created.
Are you better off now than youwere four years ago? A tried and
true quote I think not. Weare in a state of chaos. The

(12:11):
world is in a state of chaos, is it. How much does it
cost when you go to the grocerystore? Do you have to make the
decision between buying groceries or filling upyour gas tank to go to work?
These are very important things to remember. Remember in November the citizens left in
Afghanistan. Remember in November the invasionof our borders. Remember in November the

(12:37):
destruction of the dollar and domestic inflation. Remember in November the crazy crime that
exists, the fear in our largercities. Used to be able to walk
down New York City and enjoy theTimes Square and the lights, and it
was so safe under Rudy Giuliani. It's not so safe anymore. You wonder

(13:01):
looking over your shoulder, Am Igoing to be walking down the street and
get just randomly attacked by somebody witha club who just doesn't like the way
I look? You know, theprior this administration ran on unity or anything
but unified. We need to rememberthat in November. We need to remember

(13:22):
November to stand with Israel. Weneed to remember in November that our former
Senator Joe Manchin catered to these Democraticpolicies, maybe not by choice, maybe
by pressure in Washington, d C. But nevertheless by votes that he cast
with the Democrats. Fortunately, SenatorMansion has decided to retire. So,

(13:48):
to be honest with you, SenatorMansion's announcement last week was quite a bit
of a surprise, not because wedidn't expect him to retire from the Senate,
but because he repeatedly said the decisionwouldn't be made until after the holidays.
Well here we are, it's beforeThanksgiving, before Christmas, and we
have his retirement. Nonetheless, hisannouncement was very welcome by us and the

(14:09):
WET Republican Party. We do thankSenator Mansion and his wife Gail for our
service to the state and the country. We appreciate his dedication to West Virginia
over the number of years that heserved. And since I have been chaired,
we've made it a point to notquestion Senator Mansion's record. I mean,
Senator two questions Senator's mansions record, but never his character and never his

(14:33):
devotion to West Virginia. I stronglyoppose so much of what Senator Mansion supports
and the WV GOP, and Icontinue to believe that he is not,
nor was ever the voice we neededin Washington. We thank him for his
service and frankly for his decision tostep aside. So where do we go?
The GOP in West Virginia has beenlaser focused on achieving Senator Mansion's retirement

(14:58):
for over a year, and nowthat we have accomplished that, we need
to know where are we going?Where are we headed? Well, where
we headed, we are going toconcentrate and be laser focused on the remaining
elections up and down the ballot. We have the White House to win,

(15:18):
we have the Senate to win.We have to make sure that the Congress
has a stronger majority than the majoritywe have right now. We have nearly
every race under the sun that isup for election in twenty twenty four,
and we are determined to compete inall of them and in every corner of
the state. For example, onearea that the state Party has never really

(15:39):
engaged much in is a nonpartisan racisnon partisan races that are now very crucial
to the core. You have toaddress the smaller things. When you address
the smaller things, they take careof the bigger things. What are these
smaller things. The Board of Educationis a smaller thing. Your city mayor

(16:00):
is a smaller thing in the bigscheme of things, the city council.
These are the nonpartisan races that makea difference in people's daily lives, the
ones that you can see, touch, relate to and affect your pocketbook,
affect your daily life, affect yourdriving experience on the roads on a daily
basis. The Republican Party will belooking at all of these races, the

(16:26):
local races, the county races, the Board of Education races, in addition
to those up the ballot. Allin all, last week was a big
step for our party, and wemust look to make our leadership lasting and
effective in making West Virginia the bestplace to live, work, and raise

(16:47):
a family. You know, folkshave asked too, what happens now with
Senator Mansion. That's the big question. What do I believe? Well,
it's long been rumored, and tobe honest with you, I totally believe
Joe Manchin wakes up in the morningthinking he would be a better president than
Joe Biden. In fact, Ithink we all think that. So if
he believes he could win the presidency, I would imagine he would be very

(17:11):
interested in that pursuit, and quitefrankly, look for an announcement soon on
that issue. Different third party andindependent candidates will take away from either the
Republican or the Democrat side. Butthis election will be based on the base
of the parties, and I don'tthink that Joe Biden has a very big

(17:33):
base. The more the merrier,I won't share that advice with too many
Democrats, but let's take them awayfrom the Democrats so the Republicans can retake
the White House. GOP will belaser focused in ensuring that we elect an
entirely Republican delegation to Congress and sweepstatewide offices. We want to grow our
legislative supermajorities in something relatively new, make a concerted effort, as I said,

(17:57):
to improve our margins the bench,in the county and in municipal races.
Destination Great House from the Court,Greatness asked, actually, from the
Courthouse to the White House, youneed to book your flight with us.
I've already purchased my ticket. I'mbuckled in, I'm ready for takeoff.
Let's make this happen. Flight twentytwenty four, Elgin mccartial West Virginia State

Party. You need to listen toour future podcast which will address issues,
topics, and candidates throughout the twentytwenty four election cycle. I heart app,
look for it, look for me, look forward to all of your
