There is a severe blood shortage going on because of the pandemic.
Brooke Way from Vitalant came on to speak about the urgent need for blood right now, who are the best donors (O positive) and who needs the blood. Lots of blood drives have had to be canceled over the past year because of the pandemic and donations are way down.
State Trooper Joshua Lewis from The Colorado State Patrol came to talk about how accidents have increased since the pandemic began. Also, the number of deaths on Colorado roads has increased. He talked about how some of those people would be alive if they had been buckled up.
Here in Colorado, we lost over 650 people on our roadways last year.
Half were not wearing seatbelts
