(00:00):
Another year across the galaxy far faraway, and we are back to talk
about Star Wars on May fourth.Let's geek out this was a visual platform.

(00:21):
Yeah, I would so try todo like the geek Freak of the
Week logo going backwards and having thescroll go up, But hey, who
wants to give me the money toactually do that? Plus you don't want
to see my face, No,not at all. The hair alone will
scare you. But it is Mayfourth, at least at the time of
this recording, so I hope youcelebrate or celebrated well. So we do

(00:45):
have to get one thing out ofthe way, not Star Wars themes.
But I had planned on doing arelease of my Once and Always review,
you know, the Power Range're specialthat's on Netflix celebrating the thirtieth anniversary.
Not that I am excited about itor anything, but I forgot to upload
a key episode. I did anepisode a long time ago about who is

(01:07):
the best Power Ranger, and Iwas going to release that first and then
released my commentary about of course theanniversary special. But because I apparently don't
know how to click a certain box, yeah, that never got uploaded,
which means I can't upload the otherepisode about the review because it would make

(01:29):
no sense. And I totally screwedup my own schedule. So did that
make sense. It's okay if it'snow. I don't think it makes sense
to me either. But basically, like I said, I just messed up
my own schedule. So right nowwe're going to do Star Wars and then
we'll get into other stuff, butback to that galaxy far far away.
So on Star Wars Day, let'sget some things out of the way.

(01:51):
First off, you can watch themovies, all eleven of them on Disney
Plus. You can also check outthe countless series that they have. But
there was some news that came outthat I want to chat about, and
today is the perfect day to goover it. First thing I'm excited for
is Ray is going to be comingback for a new set of movies.

(02:14):
I hope you didn't just boo meafter I said that, because you know
what, I'm actually glad She's gottena lot of Tonton shit for being Ray.
Now, jar Jar binks, Yes, that's a terrible character, and
I will defend that until I freezein space. But Ray, she's not

(02:35):
that bad at all, and here'sa good comparison. Remember when we were
first introduced to Asoka, Anakin's apprenticeand the title character for the upcoming Disney
Plus series. Well, when Ahsokawas first introduced in that animated Clone War
movie back in two thousand and eight, she was hated by the fandom.
Here were some of the things Iremember, Why does Anakin have an apprentice

(02:59):
that never happened? And why isn'tshe human? Why is she an alien?
And what are those things on ourhead? Or those are those that
hair? Are those tentacles? Andwhat's with the chin? Why is it
drawn so weird? Actually the lastpart I got that that was a very
odd choice. But they corrected thatin the Clone Wars TV series. But
still Ahsoka got a bad rapp andnow everybody can't picture the franchise without her.

(03:24):
So Ray got off to a badstart. But she's not a bad
character, just a bad character arcjar Jar Binks bad character overall. I
again will defend that until I'm bluein the face, And I hope you
were excited to hear the news thatRay was coming back. And another comparison
I'll make is to Anakin Skywalker.Yeah, he was that whiny little punkin

(03:47):
Attack of the Clones. That well, we'll also never forget this famous thing
that happens why George lew guess whyjust why did you know? Then he
was get to sell its after thebacklash from that. I kind of hope

(04:08):
he did. But then they keptit in even more. They added it
in other scenarios like in Return ofthe Jedi. Yeah, I just just
yeah, God, but whatever, all right, we're gonna move on from
that. Because Disney didn't take itout, it's still canon. Nothing we
could do about it. But thanksto Rogue one, back to the point
I'm trying to make, we canforget about that whiney emo kid. And

(04:30):
then Hayden Christiansen was brought in forthe Obi Wan Kenobi series, where we
saw how messed up Anakin became andthat Darth Vader was truly in control.
Now, you could argue that thatwas done in Star Wars Rebels when Ahsoka
Invader fought again we're going back toAhsoka, but that was character base.

(04:51):
The Kenobi series was to redeem HaydenChristiansen, and honestly, I think it
worked, even though we and seeHayden Christiansen outside of a quick image in
the background and well half of hisface in the Vader helmet. Still now
we go, oh, okay, yes, Hayden Christiansen, you're still in

(05:13):
there, and you are still abadass that we have seen since Rogue one.
Okay, that whiney guy is gone, and thank the Force for that.
But we also have to talk aboutsome other things that are going to
be approaching us soon. Let's talkabout and Or. That was actually a
good first season, but it's goingto be coming back for its second and

(05:33):
final season, and I mean that'sperfect. I mean, what else can
you do with it? The characteris dead. We know he doesn't make
it, and well now we knowwhy and Or the series is so important.
The other thing about the series isthe Book of Boba Fetts. I'm
not gonna get a lot of lovefor this, but I don't care.

(05:55):
I was let down by that, really, I was let down by Book
of Boba Fette. Disney took apage out of George Lucas's playbook and made
Boba Fette not scary or intimidating. And that is why Boba Fette was so
awesome. You didn't know a damnthing about him. I mean, we
did get that small backstory in episodetwo, but that's it. That's all

(06:16):
we needed, not this redemption crap. He's Boba Fette. So it was
a very big letdown, extremely Andlike I will defend that jar Jar Binks
is a terrible character, I willalso defend that book of Boba Fette was
pointless and it did not need tobe made, and it made Boba Fette
terrible. But Disney, we knowyou can redeem characters. Go for it

(06:41):
with Boba Fetts. The Mandalorian.Speaking of people wear helmets that just finished
up, well, actually season threejust finished up. Has that show jumped
the space shark yets. I'm commonon the fence about that. I like
it, but I still feel thatthe only reason that shows created was to
be the relaunch of the characters forAhsoka and to bring in the live action

(07:06):
Star Wars Rebel cast, because thesame people who worked on the Rebel show
are working on these series and theyjust really want their old jobs back.
Because I think that's really why theMandalorian was put into place. Also,
like Baby Grouts, Star Wars neededsomething cute to sell, and that's where
we get Grogu and I just thoughtof this grouts Grogu. Oh come on,

(07:31):
Disney, could you have come upwith a different name at least stick
with the Wise. All right, let's move on. Speaking of series,
Obi Wan Kenobi series? Did youenjoy that? I did? I loved
it. It was better than Ithought. And am I bias because Io
McGregor is Obi one in this?Yeah? I think that's safe to assume.

(07:53):
But really I liked this series. It was not what I thought it
was gonna be. The whole Layastory. Yeah, completely caught me off
guard, and well, I kindof liked it. And just like Darth
Maul, the best thing to comeout of the prequels was Ewan McGregor's portrayal
of this falling Jedi. And doesit need a second season? I'm not
sure because we did see him andDarth, you know, face off,

(08:18):
So does it make sense to doanother season. I don't know. They
could go another direction, but Ihope him and Darth just don't cross paths.
Maybe he's trying to hunt them inthe background. I don't know,
but I think a second season isnot needed. But that doesn't mean I
don't want to see less of ElanMcGregor as Obi Wan Kenobi, but it's
Disney. They need to make moneybecause they have to pay for this little

(08:41):
lawsuit to keep their special tax statusin Florida. Now, I also want
to keep going on with this ObiWan thing for just a few more moments,
because I don't think I read thisanywhere, but if I did,
I can't remember the source. Imean, I really want to say I
came up with this idea of myselfafter hearing or reading this. And now,
this is a comment that was madeby Ewan McGregor based on how he

(09:05):
was going to portray Obi One ifhe was ever brought back in a future
series or a movie, and hehad said that he didn't want to mimic
the Obi One that we saw inA New Hope. So this led me
to think the following. And again, I can't remember if that interview was

(09:26):
longer or if I read this somewhereelse, but I honestly can't remember where
I heard it from, So I'mjust going to take credit for it.
Back when they were filming A NewHope, George Lucas had a conversation with
Alec Ginnis, the original Obi One, and they were kind of going over
how the character should be portrayed. You know, he's an old man in

(09:48):
hiding from a deposed regime and time, so what is he? Does he
have PTSD or is he just afallen night that still believes in the system.
And apparently the way the conversation wentwas George Lucas told alec Inness to
just pick one, so he wentwith the fallen Warrior portrayal. So in
the OBI one series we see EwanMcGregor's portrayal as kind of like a PTSD

(10:15):
mode and it really showed. Andthat's why no one should ever say anything
bad about Ewan McGregor portraying OBI onein the entire prequel franchise, And to
this day, he still wants peopleto think that he will become alec Inness
eventually, and let's hope they never, ever, ever, ever digitally remove

(10:37):
alec Innis and put in Ewan McGregoranyway, shape or form. Let's not
pull a return of the Jedi replacementcrap over here, But that's something to
remember. He does a great jobas the character and can still pull it
off, but he in no waywants to be remembered as OBI one.
He keeps that for the original actor. I mean, I think at this

(11:00):
point it's kind of lates, Buthey, James Earl Jones is known for
a variety of roles on top ofbeing the voice of Darth Vader, so
I don't think he really needs toworry about it. People will remember Ewan
McGregor as Obi one if they wantto, and he's known for a lot
of other roles, so it's notlike he's trying to take over someone else's
spots. But the last thing thatI want to get into before we wrap

(11:20):
things up is that there is stillone Star Wars series that I think you
should know about and actually need toknow about. It's called Star Wars Clone
Wars. And if you're thinking,no shit, yes I know about Star
Wars Clone Wars, No, no, you don't. This is not the
one with Asoka. This is theone from Cartoon Network. Well, the

(11:43):
first one that was on Cartoon Network. I know there were two. This
sounds very confusing, but this CloneWars series came out in two thousand and
three. It's traditionally animated, notcomputer animated, and it told a great
stories about the Clone Wars. Itexplains why General Grievous has that cough and
it was the first time we eversaw the nighting ceremony of a Jedi.

(12:07):
Before that, George Lucas had noidea how a Jedi became a full on
night and that was the series tomake it. So that's why I think
you really need to check it out. It's on Disney Plus all short episodes
and I highly highly recommend it.So on this Star Wars Day, remember
May the Fourth be with you.Don't forget to get out there and be
