Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Greater South Florida Chamber Radio program with
your host to board President John Kroll of Kroll Realty.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Good morning, Welcome back to the show. It's Saturday, May
thirty first, twenty twenty five, and we are privileged to
be here this morning in West Palm Beach, Florida. iHeartRadio
War We're now streaming on the iHeart app. I'm Rob
the director of Operations at the Greater South Florida Chamber
of Commerce. This is one of our weekly business programs.
It's called the Best of South Florida Business News. It's
our weekly radio program with me. Is Corporate Trusty Ambassador
(00:38):
Melissa Kricci or mel She is a local licensed health
insurance agent who specializes in Medicare coverage. Melissa is completely independent,
meaning she doesn't work for any agency or company. So
what exactly do you do with Medicare, Melissa?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Well, I mostly sell Medicare supplement plans and Medicare advantage plans,
although I can do quite a bit from educating my
clients on how the Medicare program works, to helping them
sign up, to explaining their coverage options. I try to
be there for my clients' needs all along their journey
into Medicare. I'm currently licensed in fifteen states and have
(01:15):
contracts with more than thirty different carriers. I work with
people locally and at a state to teach them about
the Medicare program how it works, as well is show
them what their options for coverage are. Many people don't
realize there are two different programs for coverage. Once you
have your Part A and Part B. Some people purchase
a metagap or Medicare supplement policy and drug plan, while
(01:37):
other people join a Medicare advantage plan or Part C plan.
Some people may even choose to stay an original Medicare
and only purchase a drug policy, although I personally don't
recommend this route. When I generate a quote for someone,
I try to show them both programs and make my
recommendation based on their specific needs and budget. I also
show them options like dental, indemni plans and other ancillary
(01:59):
products that may be benefit them to have.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
So what's the difference between Medicare advantage and Medicare supplement.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
A Medicare supplement or medigap plan works in conjunction with
original Medicare to pick up the costs original Medicare leaves
you with. Generally, you pay a monthly premium for your
plan and it picks up all part day costs and
the twenty percent Part B does not cover after you
meet your deductible. Of course, another great feature of Medicare
supplement is the network original Medicare is a nationwide network
(02:30):
with a supplement. You can seek treatment anywhere in the
country and you'll be covered as long as the provider
accepts Medicare. This is because Medicare is your primary coverage
and the supplement is your secondary. The bill goes to
Medicare first, and then Medicare sends the portion it doesn't
cover to your supplement. Because of this, you don't have
to worry about which carrier you go with. As long
as your provider accepts Medicare, they'll accept your supplement. On
(02:54):
the other hand, a Medicare advantage plan or Part C
tends to pro rate out the deductors and coinsurances that
Medicare leaves you with. For example, on a Medicare advantage plan,
your hospital copay is usually about three hundred dollars a
day for around a week. Three hundred times five is
fifteen hundred, which is pretty close to the part a
deductible original Medicare leaves you with. One great thing about
(03:17):
Medicare advantage though, is it bundles all your benefits into
one package and adds extra benefits like dental, vision and hearing.
In general, Medicare advantages HMO or PPO style plans meaning
they have a network of doctors. HMO plans are very
strict about their network, where PPO plans have in and
out of network benefits. This is very different from how
(03:40):
a Medicare supplement network works. The best thing about Medicare
advantages there's usually no premium. This makes it a really
great option for those living on a fixed income or
strict budget.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Now, who usually uses your service? Can you elaborate on that?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I have two main types of clients. The first would
be the turning sixty five crowd, or those who recently
acquired Medicare Part B, maybe because of retirement or disability.
These are people who are new to the Medicare program
and need help signing up for it, understanding how it works,
and finding healthcare coverage. The other main type of client
(04:17):
I get are those who are either unhappy with their
coverage or concerned with the costs of the costs associated
with their coverage. My favorite kind of clients w'll work with, though,
is someone who's new to medicare. I like to catch
them from the start and help them find the best
coverage for their needs now and in the future. In fact,
I host a free monthly educational seminar for those who
(04:39):
are new to medicare up in Jupiter the last Saturday
of every month.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Now, what made you want to become an agent?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Well, about two years ago I was forced to make
a career change. I had previously run a small farm
called let It Rot, which offered composting services throughout Palm
Beach and Martin County. I unfortunately was forced to shut
down by the Solid Waste Authority and I had to
make a decision about what I wanted to do next.
Being able to help people with something really important to me.
(05:09):
I happen to have a family member who's been in
the insurance industry for over thirty years, and I asked
them to mentor me as I went back to school
to get my broker's license. They helped me learn the industry,
study for my exam and negotiate contracts with all the
carriers I sell. I feel so lucky to have had
this opportunity to continue to work for myself in a
field where I still get to help people.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
That's amazing. I like that. That's a positive attitude. What
do you like about being an agent? I mean, I'm
sure there's several things to touch on a couple of
key aspects that you enjoy.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Insurance can be very intimidating and overwhelming. I personally have
many experiences with those feelings as an autoimmune patient. I've
had Crohn's disease for seventeen years, and finding and maintaining
good health care coverage was a real challenge for me
when I was younger. I actually went without insurance for
three years, but I taught myself how to shop and
(06:02):
sign up for an ACA Marketplace plan back in twenty twenty,
and finally getting good coverage and being able to see
the proper doctors changed my life in so many ways.
I love the feeling I get when I'm able to
empower someone else by helping them find the right plan.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
What sets you apart now from everyone else in the industry.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
I feel I have a really unique experience because I
am an autoimmune patient. I really empathize with my clients
on a personal level, I've been so frustrated with my
current coverage or lack thereof pulled my hair out trying
to understand the terms and coverages of insurance plans I
am considering. I've felt so lost dealing with insurance, and
(06:45):
I find a lot of seniors are too. They get
bombarded by mailers and phone calls from all sorts of
people and companies trying to sell them something. I like
to approach it a little differently. Before I try to
sell them anything, I like to educate my clients, either
at a one on one meeting or at my monthly
educational workshop. I have a presentation I offer to all
(07:07):
my clients. I want to make sure they actually understand
the federal Medicare program and how it works. Once they
learn about how Medicare works, I help them determine whether
Medicare Supplement or advantage is the right program for them.
Then we do the application together, and as their agent,
I stay available all year to help with any insurance
related questions or issues that may come up, like finding doctors,
(07:30):
pricing medications, even filing complaints or appeals. All my services
are always free and there's never an obligation to work
with me.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Now, why is it important in your opinion to work
with an independent broker like yourself.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Well, it's pretty simple. I have my client's best interest
in mind because I'm independent and I'm not tied to
any one particular company, and I have no superiors to
report to. My goal is to make my clients feel
secure with their coverage they've chosen, and to suggest what
would work best for them, not to make any sales
quota or hit some kind of numbers. I work with
(08:07):
individuals one on one to find what's going to work
best for their unique situation. There are so many ways
to join a plan. Some people use medicare dot gov
and do it themselves. Some people directly call the insurance company.
And now you can even go to publics and have
them run a quote for you. The reason you should
work with me or any independent agent is so you
(08:29):
get the most up to date, unbiased information possible. I
don't just generate a quote using software. I consider my
client's needs, wants, and budget. If one pharmacy offers better
pricing than my client's current pharmacy, I make them aware
of that. If GoodRx offers a cupeon for their drugs
at a better price. I share that with them, and
(08:49):
most independent agents do the same. If there's a better
plan out there for them that I can't sell, I
tell them and I find someone who can. It's compassion
for people that makes us want to help, not a
sales quota or incentive.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Well, is there anything else you sell that you'd like
to talk about?
Speaker 3 (09:07):
I also sell dental insurance. I can sell dental plans
to people of any age, but I mostly sell them
to my Medicare supplement clients. These are standalone plans that
offer up to a five thousand dollars benefit. They include
all your preventative services, as well as basic and major
works such as fillings, crowns, and even dentures. I have
(09:27):
a very popular plan that I actually carry for myself
called the Pinnacle Plan. This coverage has no waiting periods.
Unlike most dental insurance, its maximum benefit doubles yearly for
the first three years, as well as increases how much
it covers. This is a great plan for someone who
needs a lot of dental work and wants to begin
setting up their strategy to start fixing their teeth. I'm
(09:49):
personally getting a few crowns when my benefit reaches five
thousand dollars next year. And for now, all my preventative
cleanings and X rays have been covered at one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
No, do you have any final words to leave us
with this morning.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
I just want to mention my monthly educational seminar again.
I teach a Medicare workshop that's free and open to
the public, although I do prefer you RSVP. The seminar
is geared towards people who are new to Medicare, although
we cover a lot so anyone is welcome to attend.
It's at ten thirty in the morning on the last
Saturday of every month in Jupiter at the Cafe I
(10:26):
Need Coffee on seven to eleven Indian Town Road. I
actually have three different seminars I offer, but we usually
go over my Medicare basics presentation. There is no obligation
to work with me for attending the seminar. It's just
a free service I offer to the community. I'm happy
to offer these workshops for free in other locations too,
(10:47):
like at the library, community center, fifty five and up
communities or anywhere else. Just reach out to me about
setting up an event.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Once again, it's been Melissa Karashi goes by. Mel I
want you to give it your phone number one more
time before we sign up this morning, and remember everyone
next Friday, on the sixth of June from three pm
to seven pm, she'll be here with us at iHeartRadio
for the business expon networking event we're doing. You can
meet her in person. Go ahead.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
So my phone number is five six one two eight
seven zero four zero six and my name is Melissa Carici.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Well, I want to thank you for being with us
this morning. I have a wonderful morning, a great weekend,
and God bless Hey.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
This is Melissa Creaci. I'm a licensed and insured local
insurance agent. So one thing worth mentioning is the annual
enrollment period for Medicare Advantage did end back in December,
which is known as plan changing season for those on
a Medicare advantage plan. But I do like to remind
all my clients that you have the Open Enrollment Period
(11:55):
or OEP available to make one plan change up until
March their first So if you're unhappy with your current coverage,
give me a call. Can reach me at five six
one two eight seven zero four zero six call their text.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Good morning, Welcome back to the show. It's Saturday, May thirty, first,
twenty twenty five, the last day of May. We are
privileged here this morning in West Palm Beach, Florida at iHeartRadio.
Woman now streaming on the iHeart app. I'm Rob the
director of Operations with the Greater South Florida Chamber of Commerce.
This is one of our weekly radio programs the best
of South Florida business have with US Corporate Trustee Ambassador
(12:33):
Brad Curtis. He works with the River City Gazette. That
is the paper that represents Miami Springs, Durral Medley, Virginia Gardens,
and it's a very very very very excellent paper and
we want to let everybody know this time last week
we were out at the Miami Springs ADLT Community Center
over Labor Day weekend. Had a very successful event and
(12:54):
proud to let everyone know we'll be going back there
again on July twenty sixth Saturday, and to get on
Saturday the twentieth or September. Really excited about it, and
I'm very excited about the collaboration in partnership with your
organization because I want anybody in the Miami area to know,
if you're looking to advertise your business and you're looking
(13:17):
to do it in that area, whether it's Hyalia, Miami Springs, Durrau,
Virginia Gardens or Medley or the surrounding areas, you want
to look at the River City Gazette. I mean, I'm
telling you it's an excellent publication and they're very active
with their social media presence. Brad, I want to get
out of your way this morning. I know we got
about six seven, eight minutes. I want you to share
(13:37):
with the listening audience what's going on with your organization
and anything cutting edge that's happening down in Miami Springs,
A place I hope to reside someday. What a wonderful community.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Absolutely, it's pard I fear it's like the Pearland and
Oister kind of a hidden treasure. But we got it
going on around here with the events and River City's Gazette,
the River Cities. The cities is plural c I T
I E s River Cities because that we are. We
are handling, you know, the events and news around here
(14:11):
and the actual paper, the newspaper comes out tomorrow and
we have the digital on Facebook and Instagram.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
That's awesome. That is awesome. Now traditionally bright in the summer.
Is it a little slower there like it is in
most places or does it? Is it consistent in your
in your opinion?
Speaker 4 (14:31):
No, Well, you know what the Mining Springs where we
have set apart from the rest, is the events, and
they're they're believed or not. Uh, they're mostly outdoor events.
So uh, the summer is a really good time for
that obviously.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
You know that there's gonna be some some surprise rainstorms
here and there, but the better events are the one
indoors that where you can you can beat the heat
and you can avoid a getting soaking wet or having
to wipe the sweat off your But like for example,
it's coming early in the months June eighth, we have
the roller derby actually starting in the rec center, so
(15:09):
things like that. No, it doesn't slow down. It's year round,
whether it's the farmers market, whether it's the river clean
up or the Lions Club fish fry, the tastes in
the Springs. There's always something going on around here.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
And I think the thing that appeals to me the
most about your organization as a whole is how effective
your publication is. It's got a very broad reach, but
I don't want to be redundant. But not everyone is
geared to have such an active social media platform like
you do. And it's very very effective because obviously that's
(15:42):
where it's at today's society. If you have a strong
social media platform, you're in good shape. If not, you know,
it's just amazing and kudos exactly kudos and hats off
to you and your team for making that happen.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Yes, thank you so much. You know, we're transforming and
we're stepping through into this this high tech digital world.
And you know, we still have the nostalgic heel of
the newspaper, so you can actually hold that in your
hand and read articles and things like that. But you know,
we have our digital platforms River Cities that cities plural
(16:17):
River Cities c I t I S is that without
the the on Facebook or Instagram, and it's very high quality,
interactive following, lots of views and sharing and likes and comments.
If you want to know what's going on around here
in the River Cities, you hit us up on the
digital media.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Absolutely, absolutely, yeah, I'm really excited about the event coming
up with you again on the twenty sixth of July
there at the Miami Springs Adult Community Center. That is
a great venue, large building, very it's very it's state
of the art. It seems like it's relatively new, and
obviously all the equipment in there is is just state
(16:58):
of the art, and it's a really really well attended facility.
Some community centers are hit or miss. You might catch
some people you might not, but that particular facility is
very active, has a great following, strong presence, and all
the people are just really really really really nice and
neat to see a group of positive people with all
(17:21):
the noise that's out here this day and age and
everything going on in twenty twenty five. And as you said,
that unforgivable heat and humidity that's upon us for the
next you know, four to five months, but it is
what it is. Thanksgiving will eventually come. But we're really
excited about working with you and your team.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
Bradon, absolutely absolutely, And that Adult Community Center is newly renovated,
so it is five times what it used to be
and it's just so clean and clear and like you said,
the positive energy in there. Everyone smiles and hugs and
says good morning. Even if they don't even know you.
(17:58):
It's a place where you where you can walk next
to somebody you know walking their dogs and say good
morning and they'll actually say good morning back, something that's
hard to find nowadays.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
You know, that is a lost art in America today.
You are correct, it seems like people enjoy being grumpy
for whatever reason. I know I'm not one of them,
I know, nor are you. But that is neat to
see the positive touch like that, because, as Grandma used
to say, catch more bees with honey than you do vinegar.
And unfortunately, there's a lot of salt out there in
(18:29):
the world to stay and age.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
So absolutely, you know, you got to keep that positive
energy exactly and you know, the Miami Springs a great
place to do that, very high vibes and good that
small town feeld where you can still find garage sales
and lemonade stands and family activities like our Holistic healthfare
(18:50):
and Business expo, which was a huge success on Memorial
Day weekend, and now we're going to have it again
here at the end of July the twenty sixth, a
Saturday from noon to five, and it's just going to
be even bigger and bigger every time we have it,
there's going to be more and more people show up,
and it's going to be the mayor was there, and
the council members were there, and all the local activists
(19:14):
were there and gazette writers and it was just huge.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Yeah, we're really, really really excited about the collaboration with
you and doing it again in September. I would like
to like to try to do it monthly or every
other month, because I think it could be really really effective.
You know, about a minute left, Brad, why don't you
give everyone your contact information phone number, web adjusts how
they can get a hold of you and touch on
anything you've got going on that you want to share
(19:39):
with the listening audience this morning. As far as advertising opportunities,
and I strongly encourage people out there to advertise with
Brad and the River City because excellent organization, very effective,
well worth the money.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Spent, absolutely and like I said, we put ten thousand
copies of the newspaper which has distributed direct MAIP all
the homes apartments in the areas, the River Cities areas,
you know, so you can do a multi marketing platform
and have a color advertisement in the newspaper and then
(20:13):
run digital media with video and live broadcasts and streams
and things like that, so we're really up to date,
you know, technologically, and here for everybody that wants to
advertise in the area, and you can call me. That's
Brad Curtis, the assistant publisher. My father has been the
head publisher for forty five years when he started when
(20:33):
I was two years old, So it's a family business
and I'm going to continue the legacy. And you could
call me at seventy eighty six five eight seven three
zero nine three or hit us up on Facebook at
River City's Gazette.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Brad, Well, thank you for being with us, looking forward
to working with you for many months and years to come.
Have a wonderful weekend, and God bless my.
Speaker 5 (20:55):
Friend absolutely you too.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
Thanks a lot, rob.

(21:56):
Have with us this morning. Corporate Trust. The Ambassador Joseph
Mcock and he works with a company that is called
Dreams Business Analyzer Dreams Innovation. What I'd like for you
to do, Joe, is touch on what you do with
the Dreams Business Network, the Dreams Innovation as well as
Dreams Business Analyzer. Give out your pertinent contact information because
(22:20):
I know that you have a number of platforms that
you are working with within that capacity, but also there's
a number of things that you're doing that could be
extremely beneficial to business owners. Not just in the South Florida,
business market, but throughout the entire state. So I'd like
for you to introduce yourself in touch on what's going on.
Speaker 7 (22:39):
Well, thanks for that kind introduction, Rob. My name is
Joe McCormick and I'm with DREAMS Business Resources and we're
a firm that brings unknown or very little known resources
to business to enhance their bottom line. Dreams is actually
an acronym for debt, retirement expenses, asset money and security
(23:03):
DREAMS and we use the tools that we have in place,
highly vetted, world class and excellent processes to help again
owners and businesses with their bottom line. One of the
(23:24):
things I'm most excited about, Robin, has just been released
is our DREAMS Business Analyzer. And this is a system
that will with just a little bit of input fifteen
minutes by a CEO or an owner maybe get some
help with HR, they can spit out a report that
will be mind blowing to them. Okay. It's a proprietary,
(23:48):
proprietary business assessment designed to help business owners and cover
hidden savings, improve their profitability and plan for long term success.
And again it's only about fifteen minutes. Some of these
opportunities are often missed by CPAs and traditional advisors. And
they're again across the c key areas of the business debt, retirement, expenses, assets,
(24:11):
money and security. Now I can be reached at nine
zero four six four three sixty four zero six again
nine zero four six' four to three sixty four zero.
Six AND i want all the business owners and CEOs
CFOs out there to know that this is a a no,
(24:32):
pressure easy form to fill. Out there is no cost to,
this whether or not we do business or, not but
it's just absolutely a fantastic tool to see where you
are and how we can improve again your bottom. Line
SO i look forward to talking to anybody out.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
There, definitely definitely excited to have you roll this, Out.
Joe in your, opinion what are some of the things
that you're seeing this year that you may not have
seen in years, Past and what are some of the
things that you're seeing that our businesses across the board
maybe almost necessarily use the word, struggling but could be
(25:11):
problems for them that you may be able to give
them pointers to help them overcome those.
Speaker 7 (25:15):
Things, ABSOLUTELY i think the two major, ones the two
areas that we have the most traction, in if you,
WILL rob are going to be THE r AND d
credit that's available to. Businesses you know a lot of
businesses out. There they don't, walk they Don't Oh, joe
we don't have lab. Coats so we're not INTO r AND.
(25:36):
D couldn't have been further from the. Truth if you
have a process or a product and you work on
it and you develop, it even if you fail to improve,
it you're going to be eligible for AN r AND
d tax. Credit, now the average tax credit for most
businesses is about a quarter of a million dollars two
hundred and fifty thousand. Dollars that's a lot of, money
and that can really help a business that might be.
(25:59):
Struggling money's out, there only about ten percent of it
has ever. Claimed and if you ever want to know
why the walmarts and the big companies never pay amazons
don't pay taxes because they are utilizing this tax and
it can be used for the small. GUY i got
a brother up In North. Carolina he claimed he's got five.
(26:19):
Employees he got a nice LITTLE r AND d tax.
CREDIT a second sector that we're seeing a big shift
is the health. Insurance health insurance is, BOY i tell,
you it's a monopoly out. There with about four or five.
Carriers i'm not going to get into all, that but
if a company goes out and really digs, down they
(26:41):
can uncover anywhere from a forty to seventy percent decrease
in their costs for health insurance without sacrificing any of the.
Benefits they're out. There they just need to dig. Down
we're here to. Help we deal with the fourth LARGEST
imo in the country that's a brokeraach house for. Insurance
(27:02):
so we would would just love the opportunity to help
on THAT r AND d rob health. Insurance.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
YEP i tell, you it seems to be the way it's.
Going and, obviously with everything transpiring and there's a lot
of uncertainty out, there and as you, SAID i don't
dissect it. Either there's just too much. NOISE i try
to block it. Out but the same by the same,
token there seems to be some stability in the, marketplace
and there does seem to be some people who are
(27:29):
really doing some advantageous things for business owners as far
as trying to create new, pathways AND i like to see.
THAT i like to see people that, are you, know
blazing the, trail trying to establish cutting edge, technology and it's,
very very important because, obviously you, know to stay stagnant
(27:50):
is not. Good you, know obviously you want to be
conservative in your business, principles but you also want to be.
Productive you don't want things to be. Counterproductive AND i
think so many things we saw over the last six
to eight or twelve year cycles were, counterproductive you, Know
and OBVIOUSLY i think everyone's looking to have things be
productive moving. Forwards So i'm really glad that you had
(28:12):
an opportunity to share that with the listening audience this,
morning And i'm looking forward to having you out at
all the upcoming, events including the one we're doing right
here On june sixth At iHeartRadio Friday june six from
three to seven, pm you can Meet joe in, person
and he'll be a regular at all the. Events he'll
be with us on the twenty eighth and ninth out
At Sawgrass. Mills mall by a minute, Left, jose and
(28:33):
What i'd like for you to do is give out
your contact. INFORMATION i hear that music in the, background
so let everybody know how they can get a hold
of you until we have you on next. Segment my. Friend,

Six good, Morning welcome back to the. Show It's, Saturday
may thirty, first twenty twenty. Five were privileged to be
here In West Palm, Beach florida this morning At iHeartRadio
where we're now streaming on The iHeart. App I'm, robed
the director Of operations at The Greater South Florida chamber Of.
Commerce this is one of our weekly radio, programs The
best Of South Florida Business, news AND i have with
Meet gary From Gomez roofing And Solar, company who's one
(30:05):
of our Corporate Trustee. Ambassadors and Obviously, gary your, Company
Gomez roofing And solars different in the sense that it's. Hybrid,
OBVIOUSLY i know that you are a trusted roofing and
solar solution provider serving The Tri county. Area AND i
know you specialize in residential and commercial, roofing including, tile, metal,
shingle and flat. Roofing and additionally you offer the solar
(30:28):
solutions and installations and solar water, heaters pool heaters and
things along those. Lines and you, know your company's been
around since nineteen eighty, three so you're established and you're
a very effective. Company WHAT i want to do, is you,
know there's a lot of noise out. There we got
about eight or nine minutes this. Morning i'd like to
have you touch on some of the different things that
(30:48):
are going on with policies with federal issues and how
a lot of those things are tied into local, markets
whether it be count any, state and also federal markets
as well national, things because you AND i both know
you you'd have to be an imbecile not to hear
(31:08):
all the noise that's out. There but by the same,
token there are a lot of things that are transpiring
right now and a lot of those are on timelines
And i'm not well versed in, that and you are
well versed in this. Industry So i'd like for you
to touch on those things if you could this morning
for the listening.
Speaker 5 (31:22):
Audience, Hey, well first, OFF i really appreciate the opportunity
to be on your show. Again we absolutely love what
you do with the, community and you, know it's the
best way to start A. Saturday and with some of
the questions that you've brought, up absolutely i'd love to
touch on, that AND i think it's a vital focal
(31:43):
point for all of us as homeowners here In. Florida
there are a lot of moving and shifting dynamics on
the state level and the federal level that you. Know
i'm Sure i'm, not you, know smart enough to know
all of. Them by any. Means but we see a
lot of this up, happening and you, know for, instance
on the roofing, side and we've had my Savee, florida
(32:05):
which is a you, know a state, funded you, know
grand program for years here In South, florida and you, know,
currently you, know that's even at, risk you, know funds
not being available for homeowners or the government no longer
granting funds for. That so you, know blessed are the
people that were able to take advantage of it when
it was. THERE i meet people every day that wish
(32:26):
they would have known about, it or wish they would
have moved quicker about, it you know. Previously and what's
done is. Done but on the flip side of that rob,
is you, know we have the renewable. Energy you, know
people will always need to power their, homes cool it
down in the, summer heat it in the, winter and you,
(32:46):
know run their. Power the cost of energy is rising
on a yearly basis around the, country And porta is
no exception to. That the cost of energy continues to go.
Up for the last several, years we've had amazing tax
credits and programs to our advantage that people have taken
advantage of to allow them to go, solar to allow
(33:10):
them to break off from the grid and to power
their own, homes and to save thousands of dollars doing.
It what we at risk now is the. Uncertainty is
this program going to be available in a. Month is
it going to be available in three? Months nobody knows
because of how chaotic and hectic the government seems to
be right now on certain. Topics so we're really encouraging.
(33:33):
People if you haven't looked at it, yet definitely call us,
up schedule a consult you, know have us show you
what's currently available for homeowners to take advantage, of such
as a tax, credit the net metering program and all
these tools.
Speaker 8 (33:49):
That makes it make.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
Sense and then if you have looked at, it you,
know a year ago or two years, ago and it
didn't make, sense why would definitely encourage you to sit
back down a second time before the ease options off the.
Table and what happens is we lose them and then
the cost of, energy you, know doubles on us over
the next three or four, years and you, know we
(34:11):
wish we.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Could you, know that's ironic that you touch on, that
because the key word is wish we could because of
the fact that hindsight's twenty. Twenty but like you had,
mentioned you're providing people a viable. Option you're giving people
an option to come up with a resolution to help
them overcome anything that they're up. Against and like you,
(34:32):
said there are a lot of things where there's, uncertainty
AND i think it's really really neat that your organization
is an organization that people can turn. To when you're
going to turn to do something to your, HOME i,
mean that's your. Livelihood you, know that's your family's. Livelihood you,
know that's what you're going to use to if need,
be to borrow against to pay for your children or grandchildren's.
(34:52):
Education you're going to invest through your home to improve
your portfolio and your livelihood for your. Family and when
you do, that you want to make sure you're doing
things with a company like. Yours it's been around since
nineteen eighty, three because you, KNOW i don't know the
business like you, do BUT i do know the basics
and the sense THAT i see people that don't have
(35:13):
hurricane windows and, doors or don't have solar, panels or
don't have proper ripping on their. HOMES i say to,
myself whether it's a home inspection before a sale of a,
home or to get a home a praise so it
can go up on the. Market everything that you do
is so important with helping people improve the value of
their home and the majority of people use their home
(35:34):
as a lifeline for their economic stabilities in. Futures so
when you being willing to work with people when they're
going through uncertainties and being a sounding board for them
is really really. Important and kudos and hats off to
you And phillip in your team because you do a
great job and like not to be redundant when you've
been around for as many years as you. Have it's
a trusted name and it's a brand that is well,
(35:57):
respected so you should feel good about that we.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
Do and it's just it's it's creative. Ways you, know
you hit the nail on the head that you, know,
homeowners you know us lucky enough to own a, home
whether it's passed down you, know from our parents or
whether we bought it. Ourselves it's the one place you
should feel. Safe it's the one place you should be
able to go to after a hectic day at work
(36:21):
or out in you, know, society where you can just
relax and let your guard. Down and you, know nobody
wants to go home and deal with problems or deal
with issues or we're just not be able to. Relax
and that's when having a thoroughly you, know inspected home does.
That it gives, you you, know the peace of mind
(36:43):
of knowing that everything that should be the way it is.
Is my roof's, good my energy is. Good god forbid
there's a. Storm you, KNOW i have the ability to
operate my house when it's not. There our jobs outside
of just doing the. Work the best way possible is
teaching homeowners ways of accomplishing this that they didn't know.
(37:05):
Existence for, INSTANCE i was at a home this morning
and the homeowner From Fort Saint lucy lost a portion
of their house during a. Storm they've been waiting and
waiting and waiting for the. Insurance they don't know when
it's going to. Come, meanwhile you, know they need to
put a roof. On their biggest spear rob was that
they were going to have to finance a roof on
(37:28):
top of all their other. Bills so what we were
able to do for him is very, simply we bundled
their roof and a solar system together under one, contract
and we used that to offset THEIR fdl.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Bill that's.
Speaker 5 (37:43):
All and, yeah in this, case they went from paying
three hundred dollars a MONTH fbl to you, know paying
just under two hundred and seventy dollars a, month and.
Speaker 9 (37:52):
They got a brand new roof with, it and they.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
Got the ability to have solar as, well and all
the tax credits that came with. It so you, know
imagine saving thirty dollars a month while getting a brand new.
Roof now you're going to save on your insurance down
the road as, Well.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
Kerry i'm hearing that noise in the background means we
got about fifteen to thirty seconds. Left if you can
give everyone your contact information until we have you on next,
segment and we look forward to doing that in the
very near. Future go, ahead. Sir.

(40:22):
Juno i'd love to you, KNOW i want to find
out from. You, obviously it takes a special person to
do what you do for a. Living give us a
little background on, yourself how long you've been doing, this
how you got into doing, it and what you feel
may separate your organization from some of the other companies
out there that do what you do.
Speaker 9 (40:44):
Well Rob i've been a registered nurse for over forty
one years, wow and including thirty years of home health
care experience and being in the in the nursing. Profession
i've worked at several hospitals And i've taken care of
(41:05):
different conditions and all of, that but WHAT i see
stand out most is the patient and their longingness to
be with, somebody just to talk and to be with,
them you, know especially in the time of their loneliness
and maybe the severity of their. Illness and another thing
(41:27):
THAT i noticed after going into home care and taking
care of patients in the, HOME i see family member being,
stressed overly stretched out taking care of their, family and
they're so happy to see somebody with a health background
would be able to come in and check on their
(41:48):
family and somebody who can help, care sit with, them
read with the, family you, know with the patient and
everything so that the family themselves can go, out and you,
know it's like providing a little rested so that they
can go out and do whatever needs they need to
do for the rest of the. DAY i have seen
those things helped tremendously reduce a lot of, stress and
(42:13):
the patient themselves are more.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
Comfortable that's important because, obviously you, know you're you're taking
care of someone's loved ones or someone's loved, one and
when you're doing. That you, know they're interesting in you
and putting their livelihood in your. Hands And i'll be
honest with, you WHEN i met, YOU i would have
never guessed that you would have been a nurse for
(42:36):
forty one. Years you don't look like you're old enough
to have done that for forty one, years so you
look you look very. Youthful so thank. YOU i like.
Speaker 9 (42:48):
That thank. YOU i need to hear.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
That, hey it's the, Truth it is the. Truth BUT
i was really impressed with you and your, Organization velma
and the other people that were with you at your
table when you were with us At cascades At delay
back In april for the. Event AND i know you'll be.
Speaker 9 (43:04):
With us a wonderful experience that.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Day, YEAH i know. That next, week on the twenty,
first we're At Emanuel Lutheran church And stuart for the
for the. Fair i'm looking forward to having you and
your team there as well as it's some other dates
and giving people an opportunity to come out and meet
you and your team in. Person and, obviously what would
you if you wanted to share some pearls of wisdom
(43:29):
about what people should be looking for and trying to
identify if they're going to contract with an organization like
yours within your, industry would what should they do and
what should they not?
Speaker 9 (43:41):
Do, okay the first thing that they need to know
when they're on the contracting with an agency that the
agency need to be licensed and, bonded and we are.
Both we're licensed by The agency For Healthcare administration in
the state Of, florida and our services covered a wide,
(44:05):
scope you know. Area we Cover Indian, County Martin, County,
Okeechobee Palm Beach, county And Saint Lucy. County so if
they're living in that, era we provide That most, importantly
they need to look out for people who who are
are passionate about the, care who are. Friendly And i'm
(44:28):
saying this basedon't even my experience because my mom passed
From alzheimer's AND i had to take a year off
from work to take care of, her you, know until she,
expired and it was a lot of, stress you. Know
so the family member needs to know that whosoever coming
(44:51):
to the home will be there to be a friend
to their loved one and also to provide the care
that they themselves would get. Today a family member.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
That's extremely. Important i'm glad you elaborated on that because you,
know unfortunately in today's. Society i'm sure you're well aware of.
It and you, know In florida we have such a
strong boomer. Population fifty five and over is prevalent. Here
it's a market within. Itself but, unfortunately like everything else
(45:24):
in society, today there's a certain element of people WHO
i don't, KNOW i guess the proper way to say,
that they go against the grain rather than looking rather
than looking to do the next right, thing they're looking
for different ways to exploit people and take advantage of.
Them and YOU'RE i, know you're well aware that elder
abuse is on the rise and it's, unfortunate and you
(45:45):
know it's it's very important to know that when people
are doing something with an organization like, yours AND i
can attest it when someone's doing something With alv's compassionate,
care that they're in really good hands because you and
your team. Are you, know FROM a TO, z you
got all the eyes across all the, t's AND i
know that you're looking to do the next right. Thing and,
(46:06):
yeah is there anything going on like from a promotion
or marketing, standpoint or anything that you're doing you want
to share with the listening audience this, Morning.
Speaker 9 (46:15):
Well WHAT i want to, Say i'm so grateful That
VILLMAN i got to know you because being a young,
agency we opened up In november of last year and
we've been trying to see if we could get our
feet in the. Door and so therefore meeting up with
(46:35):
you and your, organization including your, friendness your ability to
accommodate us in getting us out, THERE i truly appreciate.
It i'm so happy that we have been able to
attend the several healthcare and we'll be attending more to
promote us so people will know that we are out.
(46:58):
There as you, say it's So, florida there are many,
agencies so many agencies out, there people could choose. One,
well how do you choose the Best and the best
place to go is to go to your, Organization robert
and whoever is affiliated with, you they are guaranteed that
(47:18):
they will give trustworthy, care plus quality.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Care, JUNE i want to thank you for. THAT i
really appreciate that you hear that. Music we got about
