Speaker 1 (00:08):
Good morning, Welcome back to the show. It is Saturday,
the seventeenth of May twenty twenty five. Privilege to be
here at iHeartRadio on West Palm Beach, Florida, where we're
now streaming on the iHeart app. I'm Rob, the director
of operations at the Greater South Florida Chamber of Commerce.
This is one of our weekly radio programs the best
of South Florida business. Folks with me this morning are
Raymond Anton and Brad Curtis. Both of them are hail

(00:31):
from Miami Springs, Florida. Or Next Saturday, from noon until
five pm, we are doing a holistic healthfare and business
expo at the Miami Springs Adult Community Center. Now. Brad
works directly with the River City's Gazette and it's an
outstanding publication and I urge people to go online and
take a look at it. We're running half page ad

(00:52):
right now promoting that event and it's drawn quite a
bit of attention for the organization, and we're really excited
about the partner ship with the River City Gazette and
the patrons of Miami Springs. What I'd like to do
is get out of the way this morning, give the
two of you an opportunity to introduce yourselves and Brad,
I want you to talk a little bit about the
event that you're going to be at later today, and

(01:14):
obviously we do have some vendor space left for the
event on May twenty fourth. You can reach out to
the River City Gazette, or you can reach out to
Brad or Ray. They'll give you other contact information. Or
you can just go to Greater South Florida Chamber dot
com or you can email us at info at GSFL
Chamber dot com or called nine five four five eight
zero eight eight zero two. Good morning, gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Morey are you doing there?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Really really excited about the event that's going on a
week from today on the twenty fourth at the Miami
Springs Adult Community Center. We're really pumped about that.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Yeah, we can't wait. A lot of contexts. Yeah, and
it's indoors, so you get to beat the heat.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
There you go, there you go. I saw on the
cover of the publication. I did see that your festival
was a resounding success. Again, you always do draw large
crowds for that. That's an amazing festival that you have
there in the city of Miami Springs.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yes, absolutely, it was the biggest event of the year.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Go ahead, Ray, Yeah. Next year will be the one
hundred year University of Miami Springs, so it should be a.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Doozy, awesome awesome. You know, I often joke with people
Miami Springs is like its own little private Idaho. It's
a hidden gem. You would never guess that you were
in Dade County as fast as the pace can be
in South Florida, whether you're in Dade, Broward or Palm
Beach for that matter. But it's just a slice of

(02:36):
having a nice slow pace, kind of like a little
Mayberry Rft. It's just amazing. I love that place.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Yes, it's an escape from the hustle a bustle of
South Florida, definitely.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah. And for anybody out there in the listening audience
who may not they're aware of it. Give the parameters
a little history on Miami Springs. Obviously, I know you
border several community is, one of them being Dural and
another being the airport, correct.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
And then on the other side is Medley and Virginia Gardens.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
And highly it's to the north, correct.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Highly, it's to the north, just past Medley, correct.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Right. You know, I think one of the things that
I'm most interested about when I'm thinking about Miami Springs
is the fact that you're in an area that's relatively
close to a lot of major attractions in Miami. So
you can get to Kendall or the Falls within a
relative period of time, you can get over to the

(03:35):
University of Miami and Coral Gables within a relative period
of time, and it's kind of it's kind of a
gateway to a lot of different things. And obviously like
not to be redundant, but the way that the city
is structured, in the way the housing is set up,
in the way that the businesses are set up, it's
really really, really unique, to say the least.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Absolutely, you have that small town feel with you know,
the access to all the neighboring cities, and you really
don't even have to leave Miami Springs. We got our
grocery store here, and the restaurants and all the events
make you know, make it stand out from the rest,
and there's always something going on around here.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Talk a little bit about the event that's going on
later today. I know that you're going to be out
at that event. For anybody who might not be aware
of it.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Yeah, that is at the Glen H. Curtis Mansion, and
that's Curtis with two S's a lot of people, you know,
confuse it with my family where Curtis with one s.
You know, my dad was a was a football player,
and Curtis Glenn Curtis was the founder of Miami Springs
one hundred years ago just about and his home he
was a famous aviator and inventor, a very famous man.

(04:44):
Historical presence there and his home is right on the
golf course and they turned it into a museum and
place you can rent out for like weddings and events
and stuff like that. And that's what they're doing, the
Serenity in Bloom Festival and it's all from eleven am
till seven pm.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Awesome. I'm hoping a lot of people come out for that,
and I'm hoping that a lot of the people that
attend that event when you're able to educate them later
today about the event we're doing a week from today
from noon until five at the Miami Springs at All
Community Center. In reference to your father, Yeah, it's amazing
to think of the fact that one he played for
the undefeated Miami Dolphins, but also he was a Hall

(05:25):
of Fame All American from the University of Michigan, where
he set numerous records, but he hailed from Cleveland, Ohio.
Instead of playing for the Blackeys, he went to Michigan.
That's not something that normally happens.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
No, well, you know, he had twenty five interceptions in
his Big ten career there at Michigan.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Go Blue.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
I saw that, and that'll never be broken.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
No, I agree with you. I agree with you. Yeah, No,
he was an excellent football player. You should be proud
of that fact. And that's uh.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
I am, I am. I love to show that off
as much as possible.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, And I'm extremely pressed with your publication and you know,
the way that it's distributed and the fact that you know,
you offer a lot of the different packages with streaming
and podcasts and the live stuff that you're doing. It's
really really interesting and I'm really excited about the fact that
you'll be doing some of that stuff at the event
I'm sure later today as well as next week. And

(06:21):
once again, we're really excited about the collaboration and the partnership.
Looking to do multiple dates down there with you folks,
and we've got a couple of minutes left. Anything else
going on in Miami Springs that you want to share
with the listening audience this morning, Well.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
You know there's always something going on. It's tough to.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Keep track of it all.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Let's let's get through the serenity and bloom and you can,
like I said, you can watch the live stream at
both events if you don't have Obviously, there's no video
in the newspaper, so we have the print River Cities
because that version, and then we have the digital which
allows you to do live broadcasting streams and videos and
reels and stuff like that. So if you want to
follow it's it's very simple. You just hop on face

(07:00):
book and go to River City's gazette without those just
River City Gazette.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
That's awesome. I'm hearing that music in the background. We
got about sixty seconds left. So what I'd like for
you to do give out your pertinent contact information for
anybody in the listening on instrument want to reach out
to you or your team about advertising with you and
once again, folks next Saturday from noon intil five, we'll
be with them at the Miami Springs at Alt Community Center.

(07:26):
If you're interested in exhibiting. You can call us at
nine five four five eighth eighty do two or go
to info at GSFL chamber dot com. Go ahead, Brad right.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Absolutely yeah. My name is Brad Curtis, assistant publisher. You know,
me and my father run the newspapers. It's been going
for forty five years. But if you need help with
any information, even if it's with the newspaper or just
local stuff. You know they call me mister Miami Springs
around here. So if you need any help with anything,
just give me a call. It's seven eight six five
eight seven three zero ninety three, or like I said,

(07:58):

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Good morning, Welcome back to the show. It is Saturday,
the seventeenth of May twenty twenty five. I'm Rob the
director of Operations at the Greater South Floor Chamber of Commerce.
This is one of our weekly radio programs, the Best
of South Florida Business, and we are here at iHeartRadio
in West Palm Beach, Florida this morning, where we're now
streaming on the iHeart app. And I have with us
a new corporate Trustee Ambassador. Her name is June Lewin

(09:14):
and she is one of the proprietors of Olive's Compassionate Care.
And there's one of your slogans, I love it is
your health our priority. And Olive's Compassionate Care is dedicated
to offering the best in home care and companion services
for you or your loved ones. And our care experts
are carefully screened and are available anytime you need. And

(09:36):
their office numbers area code five six one eight five
six seven three five nine and they are located at
two hundred Canooe Road, Sweet one O six G, Boyton Beach,
Florida three three four three six and it's Olivescompassionatecare dot com. June,
I'd love to you know, I want to find out

(09:59):
from you. Obviously, it takes a special person to do
what you do for a living. Give us a little
background on yourself, how long you've been doing this, how
you got into doing it, and what you feel may
separate your organization from some of the other companies out
there that do what you do.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Well.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Rob.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
I've been a registered nurse over forty one years wow,
and including thirty years of home health care experience and
being in the nursing profession. I've worked at several hospitals,
and I've taken care of different conditions and all of that.

(10:40):
But what I see stand out most is the patient
and their longingness to be with somebody, just to talk
and to be with them, you know, especially in the
time of their loneliness and maybe severity of your illness.
And another thing that I notice after going into home

(11:02):
care and taking care of patients in the home, I
see family member being stressed, overly stretched out taking care
of their family, and they're so happy to see somebody
with a health background would be able to come in
and check on their family and somebody who can help care,

(11:23):
sit with them, read with the family, you know, with
the patient and everything so that the family themselves can
go out. And you know, it's like providing a little
respite so that they can go out and do whatever
needs they need to do for the rest of the day.
I have seen those things help tremendously reduce a lot
of stress, and the patient themselves are more comfortable.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
That's important because obviously, you know, you're taking care of
someone's loved ones or someone's loved one, and when you're
doing that, you know they're interesting in you and putting
their livelihood in your hands. And I'll be honest with you,
when I met you, I would have never guessed that
you would have been a nurse for forty one years.

(12:09):
You don't look like you're old enough to have done
that for forty one years, so you look you look
very youthful. So thanks, I like that.

Speaker 6 (12:20):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
I need to hear that, Hey, it's the truth. It
is the truth. But I was really impressed with you
and your organization, Vilma and the other people that were
with you at your table when you were with us
at Cascades at Delray back in April for the event,
and I know you'll.

Speaker 6 (12:36):
Be with us a wonderful experience that day.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Yeah, I know that. Next week, on the twenty first,
we're at Emanuel Lutheran Church and Stuart for the for
the fair. I'm looking forward to having you and your
team there as well as it's some other dates and
giving people an opportunity to come out and meet you
and your team in person. And obviously, what would you
if you wanted to share some pearls of wisdom about

(13:02):
what people should be looking for and trying to identify
if they're going to contract with an organization like yours
within your industry, what should they do and what should
they not do?

Speaker 6 (13:15):
Okay, the first thing that they need to know when
they're contracting with an agency that the agency need to
be licensed and bonded, and we are both. We're licensed
by the Agency for Healthcare Administration within the State of Florida,
and our services covers a wide scope, you know area

(13:39):
we cover Indian County, Martin County, Okeechobee, Palm Beach County,
and Saint Lucy County. So if they're living in that era,
we provide that most importantly, they need to look out
for people who who are passionate about the care, who
are friendly. And I'm saying this based on even my

(14:04):
experience because my mom passed from Alzheimer's and I had
to take a year off from work to take care
of her, you know, until she expired, and it was
a lot of stress, you know. So for the family
member needs to know that whosoever coming to the home
will be there to be a friend to their loved

(14:27):
one and also to provide the care that they themselves
would dig to their family member.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
That's extremely important. I'm glad you elaborated on that because
you know, unfortunately in today's society, I'm sure you're well
aware of it. And you know, in Florida we have
such a strong boomer population fifty five and over is
prevalent here. It's a market within itself, but unfortunately, like

(14:55):
everything else in society today, there's a certain element of
people who I don't know. I guess the proper way
to say, they go against the grain rather than looking
rather than looking to do the next right thing, they're
looking for different ways to exploit people and take advantage
of them. And you're I know, you're well aware that
elder abuse is on the rise and it's unfortunate, and

(15:17):
you know it's it's very important to know that when
people are doing something with an organization like yours, and
I can attest it when someone's doing something with Al's
compassionate care, that they're in really good hands because you
and your team are. You know, from A to Z,
you got all the eyes across all the t's, and
I know that you're looking to do the next right thing.

(15:37):
And yeah, is there anything going on like from a
promotion or marketing standpoint or anything that you're doing you
want to share with the listening audience this morning.

Speaker 6 (15:47):
Well, what I want to say, I'm so grateful that
Villman I got to know you because being a young agency,
we opened up in November of lastphere and we've been
trying to see if we could get our feet in
the door. And so therefore meeting up with you and

(16:08):
your organization, including your fridness, your your ability to accommodate
us in getting us out there. I truly appreciate it.
I'm so happy that we have been able to attend
the several healthfare and we'll be attending more to promote
us so people will know that we are out there.

(16:31):
As you say, in South Florida, there are many agencies,
so many agencies out there, people could choose one. Well,
how do you choose the best And the best place
to go is to go to your organization, Robert and
whoever is affiliated with you, they are guaranteed that they
will give trustworthy care, plus quality care.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
June, I want to thank you for that. I really
appreciate that you hear that music. We got about it
half a minute to a minute left. What I'd like
for you to do is give out your contact information
before we sign off this morning, and we'll we're gonna
have you on in a future segment.

Speaker 6 (17:08):
Go ahead, all right, So we're alive Compassionates here and
we are located two hundred North Road to eat one
oh six b as in good and that's important. B
Our phone number is five six one eight five six
seventy three five nine, and you can also get more
information on our website. Alives coompassionate here dot com.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
And once again they'll be with us on the twenty
first next week from eleven until three at Emmanuel Lutheran
Church and Stuart right there. I believe it's two thousand
North Federal Highway if I'm not mistaken, but I know
you can view it online or you can see it
go to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuart and get the exact address.

(17:55):
I want to thank you for being with us this morning,
June and you have that wonderful weekend and God bless.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
God bless you too, and thank you again.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Good morning, It is Saturday, May seventeenth, twenty twenty five.
We're privileged to be here at iHeartRadio in West Palm Beach, Florida,
where we're now streaming on the iHeart app. My name
is Rob. I'm the director of Operations with the Greater
South Florida Chamber of Commerce. This is one of our
weekly radio programs called the Best of South Florida Business
News have with us longtime Coreporate Trusty Ambassadors the Alzheimer's

(19:00):
Association with us. This morning is Jennifer. What I'd like
for you to do, Jennifer, is give out your pertinent
contact information phone number, web address where people can reach
to you and your team if they want to do
an inquiry. And before we get started, I want to
let everybody know this is a special interview for me. Unfortunately,
in twenty twenty, I lost my father at ninety seven
years of age. He'd succumbed to cancer, but he actually

(19:23):
beat the cancer and he was doomed due to Alzheimer's
and it was very sad to see. So your organization
has a real soft spot in my heart. Put it
that way, because I watched how you people worked with
my dad above them beyond the call of duty, and
I just want to commend you in your organization for
what you're doing nationwide, it's awesome. So let's go ahead
and get into it this morning.

Speaker 8 (19:43):
Well, thank you so much for having me, and you know,
thank you for your kind words. And my name is
Jennifer Bracetad and we have a twenty four to seven
helpline that is available at any time for anyone and
that number is eight hundred two seven to two thirty
nine hundred. Again, that's eight hundred two seven to thirty
nine hundred. And also our website is alz dot org.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Jennifer, what is Alzheimer's for the average person out there
who may not know?

Speaker 8 (20:12):
Sure? So, Alzheimer's is a neurological disease. Unfortunately it is
a degenerative disease, but it is a disease of the brain.
Starts with issues of memory and cognition, but also leads
to a shutdown of the body. And you know, organs
forget how they're supposed to work and really shuts down

(20:35):
the entire body. And you know, one thing that is
so important to clarify. So many times we hear the
words Alzheimer's and dementia interchangeably, but Alzheimer's is a type
of dementia. Dementia is a term for an umbrella of
symptoms dealing with memory loss. But there are certainly different
types of dementia, even though Alzheimer's is the most common form.

(20:58):
But there's Louis Body Demini show, Parkinson's dementia vascular. So
there's several different types of dementia and Alzheimer's is just
the most common form.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
And how is Alzheimer's impacting not just South Florida in
the state of the Florida, but our country as a whole.

Speaker 8 (21:14):
Yeah, so you know, recently our new Fox and figures
came out. There are over seven point two million Americans
who are living with Alzheimer's disease. Here in Florida, we
have the second highest number in the entire country, with
over five hundred and eighty thousand Floridians living with the disease.
But this really does affect South Florida tremendously. Miami Dade

(21:39):
is number one in the country for Alzheimer's prevalence, with
over sixteen percent of our sixty five and older population
living with the disease, and other top counties that rank
in the top one hundred are Browered and Palm beach
that are, you know, in the top thirties with you know,
significant population living with the disease.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Obviously, Jennifer, the average individual is probably not aware. So
if you could be kind enough to elaborate on the
warning signs, what should someone do if they notice these
signs in themselves? There are others, are loved ones. Can
you touch on that please? Sure?

Speaker 8 (22:14):
Absolutely, so you know there can be We talk about
the ten warning signs of Alzheimer's disease, you know, really
talking about memory loss that disrupts daily life, you know,
forgetting important dates. Some of these things happen asking the
same question over and over. But the thing that I

(22:35):
always like the preface is if you visit our website
alz dot org slash ten signs, or if you just
go to alz dot org and you look that up.
We talk about also, here's a sign to be concerned about,
but here's something that's typical. So you know, a typical
sign would be forgetting something but then remembering it later.

(22:55):
Other signs are, you know, challenges and planning or solving problems,
difficulty completing a familiar task. If you make a recipe
and you've made it for fifty years and all of
a sudden, you're putting too much sugar. You're putting sugar
instead of salt. That could be a cause for concern.
Confusion with time and place, new problems with words and speaking.

(23:17):
These can be issues. And these are things that if
you see that in yourself or in a loved one,
you know, it's so important to discuss with your doctor.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
You know what treatments exist for Alzheimer's right now, So.

Speaker 8 (23:29):
There are two new FDA approved treatments that actually can
slow the progression of the disease. For so long we
have been dealing with diseases with drugs that only dealt
with the symptoms that this actually works to slow to
remove plaque from the brain, so that's li can be
and kinsula, and so these drugs can actually provide you know,

(23:53):
more time for loved ones, individuals who are living with
you know, mild cognitive impairment or very early in the
stages with Alzheimer's disease if they are eligible for those treatments.
So we do have treatments. We know that there are
more advances every day, so we are working to continue
to raise awareness. And that's why it's so incredibly important

(24:15):
that if you are exhibiting symptoms or are concerned, to
talk to your doctor because there are treatments that are
out there, and also there's so many clinical trials going
on as well.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
And what resources are available in South Florida and what
does the Alzheimer's Association do.

Speaker 8 (24:33):
So the Alzheimer's Association, we're national nonprofit. We provide support
and education for those so we host support groups whether
that's in person or virtual. So to find out more
about those support groups, you could visit alz dot org
or our helpline which is eight hundred and two seven
two thirty nine, one hundred and so we provide that.

(24:56):
We also raise funds for research and support. But then
also here in Florida, we do have the Department of
Elder Affairs and they provide through the area agencies on
aging different support. Whether that's a restpit, whether that's an
adult daycare and home, there could be support for that.
So if anyone is you know, currently a caregiver and

(25:20):
they need support and need more information on how to
get those services, they can call the Elder Helpline which
is eight hundred nine six three five three three seven,
and that's eight hundred nine six three five three three seven.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Okay, Well, before we sign off this morning, what I
want to do is let everybody know you're out at
all of our events and the upcoming week. On the
fifteenth of May at the habitd Offense Center and Fort
Pearsoner you're going to be with us. On the sixteenth
of May, your team will be with us at the
gym Ord Senior Community Center implantation both days where they're
from ten to two. On the twenty first of May,

(25:58):
we're at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Stuart where you're bringing
out the bus, and then we have a couple of
other dates. It's the running out May and lot of
stuff going on in June. And once again I want
to thank you and your team for all your support
and want to thank you for what you're doing for
the community here in South Florida as a whole. And
we thank you and you have a wonderful weekend.

Speaker 8 (26:18):
Thank you you as well. Appreciate your time.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
Did you know that over six million Americans have Alzheimer's
disease and receive unpaid care from over eleven million people.
If you're suffering or helping someone who is, you deserve help.
The Alzheimer's Association is leading the charge in care, support
and research against the debilitating disorder. Join the fight to
end Alzheimer's call five six, one four five three zero

(26:47):
eight five eight, or the National Helpline at one eight
hundred and twenty seven to two thirty nine hundred. Learn
more at alz dot org.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Good morning, It's Saturday, May seventeenth, twenty twenty five. Where
privileged to be here at iHeartRadio and us poem Beach, Florida,
where we're now streaming on the iHeart app. I'm Rob
the director of Operations at the Greater South Florida Chamber
of Commerce. This is one of our weekly radio programs
we do on iHeart Radio called the Best of South
Florida Business have with US Corporate Trustee Ambassadors Florida State

(27:15):
orienta medical association with US is doctor Cynthia and Hayes Hurst,
who's going to be one of the sponsors for the
event coming up at the Habrid Offence Center this coming
Thursday from ten to two at eight oh one North
Virginia Avenue in Fort Pierce, and we're really excited about
that event. We've had a lot of RSVPs for that event.
What I want to do is give you the opportunity

(27:35):
this morning to touch on anything cutting edge that's going
on with you and your organization in that area. And
we're really looking forward to the event on Thursday.

Speaker 9 (27:44):
Thank you, Rob. I'm doctor Cynthia and Hayes Hurst and
Advocacy chaff for Florida State Oriental Medical Association. This month,
we're going to actually focus on some a couple of
cardiovascular things that people probably aren't quite aware of. One
of them is actually is a month for being aware
of blood pressure issues and the other one is stroked.

(28:07):
So at at our event if people want to come
by and learn some more information about how acupucture can
help with your cardiovascular health, with your blood pressure and
hopefully also preventing from you from having a stroke in
the first place, but also to be aware that people
who do actually experience a stroke, they have severe impairments

(28:27):
a lot of times with their ability to just do
normal everyday you know, life required activities, and if you
can get help physical therapy and movement to get your
to get your body functioning back, and you pair that
with acupuncture which helps with with the neurological functioning of things.

(28:49):
You can actually recover as fully as possible. They say
if it's if it's within the first three months, you
can usually receive pretty pretty full recovery. If it goes
on longer than that, it's more difficult to recover. But
in Chinese medicine, they believe in restoring yourself to your

(29:10):
prior abilities. A lot of people don't know that acupuncture
could help it at all, and we actually are putting
an article out about it. Using physical therapy and movement
to reprogram your body to restore its function, and to
use acupuncture along with it. There's many studies that show

(29:31):
that twenty minutes, three times a week of acupuncture can
really improve that function for patients.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
That's very important. I know that you're exceptional at what
you do, and your organization is exceptional as a whole.
You know, for the listening audience maybe tuning in for
the first time or may not have heard one of
your prior interviews because who you do this with us
on a regular basis. Talk about the organization as a
whole statewide. How many practitioners are involved state wide?

Speaker 9 (29:59):
We have three thousand and five hundred acupuncturists. They are
nationally board certified. They have a bare minimum of two thousand,
six hundred hours of training. They are tested in four
different with four different national boards. One is a biomedical board,
the next the other three are pertain to our medicine.
One is our herbal medicine, that's our pharmacy, and then

(30:22):
the other two are our foundations and our theories are
pat in differentiation, which allows us to be more specific
when treating our patients because we're treating the patients and
how things show up in their body.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
And another thing the listening audience we should be aware of, uh,
doctor Headshurch, is the fact that your organization, you all
have your own individual practices. You've all spent a substantial
amount of your time going to school studying to be
able to you know, produce income for you and your families.
Obviously those are your livelihoods. And you know you spend
a substantial amount of time going to school, and you

(30:54):
volunteer your time. You're doing this pro bono. I want
people to be aware of that.

Speaker 9 (30:58):
Yes, everybody that works for the Florida State Oriental Medical
Association works for free. There are there's a board of directors,
there's fifteen people who chair committees to try to get
the best possible healthcare and outreach for our citizens in Florida.
We want to improve the health and well being of

(31:19):
everyone in Florida, and it's really important for people to
know that they have access to two really good care
that maybe is not something that they've been that they
even knew about before. They're used to going to their
regular list of doctors, and they never really thought about
adding acupuncturists to this list of providers, but an acupuncturist

(31:40):
is a very valuable part of a healthcare team.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Absolutely, and obviously I know you've opened up doors from
a chiropractic standpoint, from an acupunctural standpoint, and I think
it's imperative that people understand the efforts that you're when
your organization stand with and I know you yourself and
a number of your colleagues have made substantial trips up
to Washington, d C. To on Capitol Hill. I think

(32:05):
that's really important that people understand that you're going above
and beyond doing that.

Speaker 9 (32:09):
Yes, I just came back from our Washington, d d.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Trip.

Speaker 9 (32:13):
We did acupuncture for our public servants on the twenty
eighth of April, and we were also educating everyone about
our Healthcare for Our Seniors Act, which is HR. Sixteen
sixty seven, and that is in Congress until December of
next year, December twenty twenty sixth And if that bill

(32:35):
gets passed, that would add an extra three or thirty
five thousand acupuncturers as healthcare providers on the Medicare plan.
Right now, there's sixty five million people that are on
that plan, and within the next eight years they anticipate
or next seven years, they anticipate eight million more people
being added to that healthcare plan. And unfortunately, we have

(32:57):
less and less healthcare providers going to school and training,
and so the opportunity to have thirty five thousand people
who are already trained to join the healthcare plan to
try to alleviate some of the healthcare crisis that we're
currently experiencing, would be a big bonus for everyone.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yes, it would. That would be huge. Most importantly, you know,
once again, Folks, has been doctor Cynthia Hayeshurst. She is
the Advocacy chair for the Florida State Oriental Medical Association.
She's also the founder and CEO of Serendipity, which is
on off a Virginia Avenue in Fort Pearce. I'm looking
forward to having you and your team out at the

(33:34):
event on Thursday, the fifteenth of May, and I'm hoping
to have someone from your organization at the Holistic Healthcare
also on the twenty first of May at the Emmanuel
Lutheran Church and Stuart, but I know we have a
number of dates transpiring up there. What I'd like for
you to do this morning before we sign up is
let everybody know how they can get a hold of
the Florida State Oriental Medical Association and give out your

(33:54):
contact information as well.

Speaker 9 (33:58):
Thank you. They can reach the Florida State Orio Medical
Association at SSOMA dot org for more information and I
my my information. I'm doctor CYNTHIAE. Hayeshurst. My office is
in Port Piers and if you'd like to come by
and meet me, I will be at the Fencenter on
a on May fifteenth from ten to two. See you soon.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Thank you so much, doctor, have a wonderful weekend and
God bless you.

Good morning, Welcome, come back to the show. It's Saturday,
May seventeenth, twenty twenty five. We are a privileged to
be here at West Palm Beach, Florida this morning at
iHeartRadio where we're now streaming on the iHeart app Our
next guest is a new member corporate trustee member. Her
name is Debbie Robertson, and she is the administrator for
Here for Care home Care and one of their slogans

(35:20):
and models is get the best in home care today.
And what I want to do, Debbie, I want to
get right into it this morning. I want to give
you an opportunity to talk a little bit about your
company before we do that. What I'd like for you
to do is give out your pertinent contact information how
people can get a hold of you, phone number, address
and web address. If you would go ahead, Oh well, good.

Speaker 11 (35:40):
Morning, Rob. Thank you so much for having me. So
you app for the contact information. It is Hare for
Care offering in home care services. Or telephone number is
five six one seven seven four eight nine two zero.
We can be contacted via email at info at Hareforecare

(36:03):
dot org and our website is www dot Hairforcare dot org.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
Perfect well, thank you for that. It's a pleasure having
you this morning, Debbie. Tell us a little bit about
your company and your background. If you would go ahead, please,
oh sure.

Speaker 11 (36:19):
Rob, so. Here for Care is a state licensed, family
owned nurse registry providing in home care services. We offer
flexible options from a few hours per day to twenty
four hour care. Some of the services we offer include
assisting with activities of daily living, personal care, bathing, dressing, grooming,

(36:44):
companion care, skilled nursing care which includes like wound care,
post surgery care, IV therapy, as well as lighthouse keeping
and errands if needed or care team consists of a
wide range of disciplines. We have registered nurses, licensed practical nurses,

(37:05):
certified nursing assistants, home health aids, and companions, all of
whom are trained, licensed and insured. So the other thing
I want to share with you, too, Rob, is that
we know that choosing a caregiver for loved ones is
an important decision, and so we are really committed to

(37:28):
providing the best quality care to ensure the safety, well
being and happiness of our clans in the comfort of
their own homes.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Debbie, Typically, who are your clients? Can you elaborate on
that for the listening audience this morning?

Speaker 11 (37:42):
Oh? Sure, So our clents actually range from one to
one hundred and usually or clans are seniors, anyone who
needs personal care and support with activities of daily living,
who may be sick or ill, disabled, bedridden for one

(38:04):
reason or another. It could be folks recovering from an accident, surgery,
or a serious health event.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
And what makes Here for Care different and can you
elaborate on that?

Speaker 9 (38:20):
Well?

Speaker 11 (38:21):
Rob, you know, as mentioned earlier, we are family owned.
Here for Care was born out of a personal need
or superior dependable care for our own parents. So for
us this is really not just the business, it's personal.
We are committed to being the best advocates for clans,

(38:42):
developing personalized care plans based on their individual needs personally,
keeping in touch with them and their families to ensure
that services are going well, and also to understand any
changing needs, additional or developing needs that they may have.
I always say, you know, we are obsessed with our

(39:02):
clan's care and their well being and just overall just
doing the right thing. And we were really very hard
to earn their trust through you know, constant communication, the
quality of services we provide.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
You know, over the past twenty five thirty years. I've
done this for a long time in other areas of
the country as well, but predominantly well over twenty years
here in Florida, and I've worked with a lot of
companies within your industry. I was immediately impressed by the
amount of professionalism and how you emulated it your entire

(39:38):
organization when I met them, from top to bottom. And
that's important because that first impression is so important. And obviously,
like you said, this is someone's loved one, this is
their family members, so obviously they want to make sure
that they're in good hands because you know, unfortunately I
tune out the noise. I'm a positive person, and your
entire organization impressed me as positive people as well, good

(40:01):
god baring people. I can always tell when someone has
a relationship with their creator because you can feel it,
you can sense it. And it was neat to meet
someone like you in that area that was extremely positive
and knowing that when we refer people to you that
they're going to be in good hands because obviously here
again not to be redundant that you can't say that
about every organization, regardless of the industry classification, but it's

(40:24):
really paramount within your industry, and it's nice to know
that people that will be working with you are going
to be in really, really good hands. Now, talk a
little bit about some of the areas that you cover
with it. What are the areas that you serve right now?

Speaker 11 (40:38):
Right so, we are state licensed and we're currently serving
Palm Beach, Martin and Saint Lucy counties and one other
things too. Of that, I wanted to also highlight another
important aspect of who we are has to do with
our core values of respect, trustworthiness, compassion, empathy, and depend ability.

(41:01):
These are foundation of our services. And so with combined
twenty five years of experience in healthcare and patient advocacy.
Our team is dedicated to upholding these values without compromise.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
I like that. That is very very impressive. Now, touch
on do you do accept insurance? Correct?

Speaker 11 (41:22):
We do, Rob, We accept most long term care insurance
plans and also private pays.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
Okay, so yes, perfect, All right, Well, we got about
ninety seconds left. So what I would like for you
to do is give out your contact information again, if
you would, to let people know how they can get
a hold of you. And then, obviously I know that
in the months of May and June coming up in
Palm Beach as well as Martin County and Saint Lucie County,

(41:51):
you're going to be with us at some of several
of the upcoming events and we're really excited about that
and looking forward to continuing to work with you, and
I am really really excited about it. So what I
want to do is give you an opportunity once again
to let people know how they can get a hold
of you until we have you on next segment.

Speaker 11 (42:07):
Well, thank you so much. Rob. Again, it's Hair for
Care offering in home care services or telephone number is
five six 's one seven seven four eight nine two
zero by email, It's info at hairfocare dot org and
our website is www dot hair forcare dot org.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
I know are there.

Speaker 11 (42:30):
Thank you so much, Rob?

Speaker 1 (42:31):
Yes, absolutely, thank you. Is there anything that you want
to share before we sign up? Is there any type
of a promotion that you're offering or any type of
news service that you've added that you might want to
make people aware of before we sign off this morning?

Speaker 11 (42:43):
Well, Rob, we always do the very best we can
to facilitate and accommodate whatever situation or clans may have,
and we all we are flexible and we'll do everything
we can to ensure that we can provide care for
them with respect, compassion and dependability.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Why can rest assured to let people know out there
that they'll be in good hands when they're working with
you and your organization. And once again, I thank you
for your time. You have a wonderful weekend and God
bless my friend.

Speaker 11 (43:15):
Thank you so much. Rob. The same to you.

Speaker 12 (43:21):

Speaker 1 (43:52):
Good morning, Welcome back to the show. It's Saturday, May seventeenth,
twenty twenty five. We are privileged to be here at
iHeartRadio in West Palm Beach, Florida. Woman now streaming on
the iHeart app and I have with me Gary from
Gomez Roofing and Solar Company, who's one of our corporate
Trustee Ambassadors. And obviously Gary, your company, Gomez Roofing and
Solars different in the sense that it's hybrid. Obviously, I

(44:14):
know that you are a trusted roofing and solar solution
provider serving the Tri County area. And I know you
specialize in residential and commercial roofing, including tile, metal, shingle
and flat roofing. And additionally you offer the solar solutions
and installations and solar water heaters, pool heaters and things
along those lines. And your company's been around since nineteen

(44:35):
eighty three, so you're established and you're a very effective company.
What I want to do is, you know, there's a
lot of noise out there. We got about eight or
nine minutes this morning. I'd like to have you touch
on some of the different things that are going on
with policies, with federal issues, and how a lot of

(44:55):
those things are tied into local markets, whether it be county, state,
and also federal markets as well national things. Because you
and I both know you you'd have to be an
imbecile not to hear all the noise that's out there.
But by the same token, there are a lot of
things that are transpiring right now and a lot of
those are on timelines. You know, I'm not well versed

(45:17):
in that, and you are well versed in this industry.
So I'd like for you to touch on those things
if you could this morning for the listening audience.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
Hey, Well, first off, I really appreciate the opportunity to
be on your show again. We absolutely love what you
do with the community, and you know it's the best
way to start a Saturday and with some of the
questions that you've brought up. Absolutely, i'd love to touch
on that, and I think it's a vital focal point
for all of us as homeowners here in Florida. There

(45:48):
are a lot of moving and shifting dynamics on the
state level and the federal level that you know, I'm
sure I'm not you know, smart enough to know all
of them by any means, but we see a lot
of this stuff happening. And you know, for instance, on
the roofing side, you know, we've had my savee Florida,
which is a you know, a state funded, you know,
grant program for years here in South Florida, and you know, currently,

(46:11):
you know, that's even at risk, you know, funds not
being available for homeowners or the government no longer granting
funds for that. So you know, blessed are the people
that were able to take advantage of it when it
was there. I meet people every day that wish they
would have known about it, or wish they would have
moved quicker about it, you know previously, and what's done

(46:34):
is done. But on the flip side of that, rob is,
you know, we have the renewable energy. You know, people
will always need to power their homes, cool it down
in the summer, heat it in the winter, and you know,
run their power. The cost of energy is rising on
a yearly basis around the country, and Porta is no

(46:55):
attention to that. The cost of energy continues to go up.
For the last several years, we've had amazing tax credits
and programs to our advantage that people have taken advantage of,
to allow them to go solar, to allow them to
break off from the grid and to power their own homes,

(47:16):
and to save thousands of dollars doing it. What we
at risk now is the uncertainty. Is this program going
to be available in a month, Is it going to
be available in three months? Nobody knows because of how
chaotic and hectic the government seems to be right now
on certain topics. So we're really encouraging people if you
haven't looked at it yet, definitely call us up, schedule

(47:38):
a consult you know, have us show you what's currently
available for homeowners to take advantage of, such as a
tax credit, the net metering program and all these tools
that makes it make sense. And then if you have
looked at it, you know, a year ago or two
years ago, and it didn't make sense, why would definitely
encourage you to sit back down a second time. These

(48:00):
options off the table and what happens is we lose
them and then the cost of energy, you know, doubles
on us over the next three or four years. And
you know, we wish we could.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
You know, that's ironic that you touch on that, because
the key word is wish we could, because of the
fact that hindsight's twenty twenty. But like you had mentioned,
you're providing people a viable option. You're giving people an
option to come up with a resolution to help them
overcome anything that they're up against. And like you said,
there are a lot of things where there's uncertainty, and

(48:36):
I think it's really really neat that your organization is
an organization that people can turn to when you're going
to turn to do something to your home. I mean,
that's your livelihood. You know, that's your family's livelihood. You know,
that's what you're going to use to if need be,
to borrow against to pay for your children or grandchildren's education.
You're going to invest through your home to improve your

(48:57):
portfolio and your livelihood for your family. And when you
do that, you want to make sure you're doing things
with a company like yours. It's been around since nineteen
eighty three, because you know, I don't know the business
like you do, but I do know the basics in
the sense that I see people that don't have hurricane
windows and doors, or don't have solar panels, or don't
have proper ripping on their homes. I say to myself,

(49:20):
whether it's a home inspection before a sale of a home,
or to get a home a praise so it can
go up on the market. Everything that you do is
so important with helping people improve the value of their home,
and the majority of people use their home as a
lifeline for their economic stabilities in futures. So when you

(49:40):
being willing to work with people when they're going through
uncertainties and being a sounding board for them is really
really important. And kudos and hats off to you and
Phillip in your team because you do a great job
and like not to be redundant when you've been around
for as many years as you have. It's a trusted
name and it's a brand that is well respected, so
you should feel good about that.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Yeah, we do, and it's just it's it's creative ways.
You know, you hit the nail on the head that
you know homeowners, you know us lucky enough to own
a home, whether it's passed down you know, from our parents,
or whether we bought it ourselves. It's the one place
you should feel safe. It's the one place you should
be able to go to after a hectic day at

(50:21):
work or out in you know, society where you can
just relax and let your guard down. And you know,
nobody wants to go home and deal with problems or
deal with issues, or we're just not be able to relax.
And that's when having a thoroughly you know, inspected home
does that.

Speaker 9 (50:42):
It gives you, you know, the peace.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
Of mind of knowing that everything that should be the
way it is is. My roof's good, my energy is good.
God forbid there's a storm. You know, I have the
ability to operate my house when it's not there. Our
jobs outside of just doing the work. The best way
possible is teaching homeowners ways of accomplishing this that they

(51:04):
didn't know existence. For instance, I was at a home
this morning and the homeowner for saying, Lucy lost a
portion of their house during a storm. They've been waiting
and waiting and waiting for the insurance. They don't know
when it's going to come. Meanwhile, you know, they need
to put a roof on. Their biggest fear, rob was
that they were going to have to finance a roof

(51:28):
on top of all their other bills. So what we
were able to do for him is very simply, we
bundled their roof and a solar system together under one contract,
and we used that to offset their FDL bill.

Speaker 1 (51:43):
That's all.

Speaker 2 (51:44):
And yeah, in this case, they went from paying three
hundred dollars a month FBL to you know, paying just
under two hundred and seventy dollars a month.

Speaker 6 (51:53):
And they got a brand new roof with it, and they.

Speaker 2 (51:55):
Got the ability to have solar as well, and all
the tax credits that came with it. So you know,
imagine saving thirty dollars a month while getting a brand
new roof. Now you're going to save on your insurance
down the road as well.

Speaker 1 (52:08):
Gerry, I'm hearing that noise in the background. Means we
got about fifteen to thirty seconds left. If you can
give everyone your contact information until we have you on
the next segment, and we look forward to doing that
in the very near future. Go ahead, sir.

Speaker 2 (52:21):
