Our good friend master Arborist Kevin Ham. Kevin, welcome back.
How is the trip?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, it was great, Sean. We had a great time
down at the show. I met met a lot of people,
those fake people online, Yeah, I said, it turned out
to be real, yes, and yeah, I had a lot
of good, good conversations going on there. Bucking Billy Ray
from up in Victoria, British Columbia was at the show.

(01:07):
He made his rounds to everybody, and yeah, it connected
with us some good old friends. Jacob Rogers is guilty
of treason. He was at the show, got stuck with
him and his guys. And then yeah, then Guatemala, just
a world wind trip. We got back late like midnight
Saturday night, and by three o'clock I was flying out

(01:31):
to Guatemala on Sunday, and yeah, and then and then
got in at midnight in Guatemala and then by nine
o'clock in the morning we were you know two. It
took us two and a half hours to travel twenty
miles wow morning, So the traffic can be harrended in Guatemala.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Now did you were you head head heading up to
the mountains or where is the airport where you were
up there?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, we were heading from Guatemala City, which is about
you know, five thousand feet elevation, and then we went
towards Antigua in a suburb just before Antigua where we
were at about six thousand feet elevation at Florencia Park
a Florencia. So it was a municipal park of Antigua

(02:27):
is who takes care of it, and there's a lot
of you know, public park space there. So we took
care of some hazard trees and kind of demonstrated some pruning. Actually, Monday,
I'm almost forgetting the schedule. Monday we were in the
capitol at a training center pro vertical friend of mine

(02:49):
there Oliver Ramirez and we trained all three different municipal
groups in the forestry department and then in Floriacia. That
was Tuesday morning. We got up to Florencia and that
was a beautiful park and we many many acres. It

(03:14):
has some forested areas, all oak trees, like a lot
of oak trees and very hard white oak variety Quirkus treaty.
And it probably as much like live oak down in
Carolinas and Florida has some live oak and it's probably

(03:39):
eighty five pounds per cubic foot. It was very very hard.
And then I got to climb an eucalyptus tree as
well and do some some.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Pruning that that is amazing. And we talk about, you know,
about the work that you're able to do and share
your knowledge with the folks down in gads them all
and really helped them improve the rainforest. And as we
as we talked, of course, uh, you got the cruise
back here, your son, You got Taylor and the crew

(04:09):
and everybody working round the clock out well while you're away,
and then when you get back, you get back out
on the uh out on the trucks. And as a
matter of fact, your new Dinald lift came in and uh,
I think you're going up on it for the first time.
Am I am? I right on that, Kevin.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah, today over and we're way over in Horrorcon today
we get we get over that way. We my friend
John herstog rest his soul. He he passed away a
couple of years ago, and we took over his database.

(04:46):
We were close associates. He worked for me for six
years and and so a portion of the proceeds from
his database go towards a fund for his daughter. So
we basically did a a business scale with the escape
and so we get a lot of Beaver Dam, Horrorcon,

(05:07):
Mayville even over that way, we get a bunch of
work from his database. And we're over there today in
Horrorcon Wow, doing some big oak trees.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
And with that too, Kevin, we talked kind of about
the area that you guys cover at Ham's Arborcare and
I you know, we're talking on last segment just about
with Andrew and his crews working year round when it
comes to roof siding, roofs and gutters and stuff like that.
Your guys, you guys are working you around and not
only have you work here around. Some projects are just
better in the in the colder months. But as we

(05:40):
talk about kind of the footprint of Ham's Arborcare literally,
folks that can hear our voice this morning, you are
able to take care of them, aren't you.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yeah, we cover you know, Dane County, Columbia County, We
get over into Stalk County a little bit with Bear
a Boo, and Dodge County with Beaver Dam primarily and
Fox Blake, and then the farther stretches of horror Con

(06:11):
and Mayville on occasion, you probably don't even get heard
of in Maypelle.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
If the clouds are sitting just right, it might we
might get a lucky stack. But exactly, talking this morning
with master Arborist Kevin Ham of Hams Arborcare online Hamsarborcare
dot com, that's Hams h a M M Sarborcare dot com.
About a week away from Thanksgiving. That means, of course
we're making it towards the holiday home stretch. You've got Christmas,

(06:38):
got the New Year, all sorts of great stuff going on.
And Kevin, one of the things I know for folks
is you want to get a special gift, something unique,
something that somebody's gonna cherish and really fall in love with.
You've got some great stuff. We talk about the website
Hamsarborcare dot com. You've also got the website Game of
Trees dot com. That's Game of Tree. You've got some

(07:01):
really cool stuff, unique stuff, very special, locally made stuff
for sale up on the website, don't you, Kevin, Yes,
we do.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
We've got our biochar body barn now in two flavors. Yes,
we've got We've got magnolia, which kind of has a
pinkish uh. It's it's a split down the middle, kind
of the black charcoal on the bottom and a more

(07:32):
pinkish color on top. And then it's got the magnolia
sense with the Eucalyptus, our original biochar bodybarn ship who
has pine feeder in eucalyptus, which is a great trifecta
kind of a masculine scent to it. So yeah, try it,
try it out. Cheaper by the stick, yes, cheaper by

(07:57):
the half dozen. Uh. So you can get them in
those six great stocking stuffers. We have a travel bar
size uh, a one ounce bar and then the standard
bars are four ounces, So great, great product. I use
it all that, you know, every day virtually you.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Smell, you smell great with it. I I I think
I've told you this before is I'll buy a few
at a time and I'll take obviously the one I
use take to the shower. The ones I don't use,
I put in my in my drawer. It keeps here.
It's got a really nice fragrance that like even your
close just kind of get so and it works. What
an amazing soap it is as well, it really really

(08:36):
is great stuff. You mentioned fantastic stuff stocking stuffers. I
know there's a lot of folks also who like games
and puzzles. You guys have fantastic fantastic puzzle up at
gameoftrees dot com as well. One final thing before.

Speaker 2 (08:49):

Speaker 1 (08:53):
I was gonna let people know about that. Not only
does it help support and and we talk about the
things that you do down there for folks that are
wondering all about the Guatemala trips and what Kevin Hall
does down there. Obviously, if you follow them on Instagram
and social media like YouTube and other things, they've got
a great YouTube channel you can follow along also at
Hamsarborcare dot com. There's a whole section about the Guatemala project.

(09:16):
You can learn more there. One thing I did want
to wrap up with as well, Tim is as we
get into you were mentioning I'm getting some work done
on an oak down in Guatemala. Oak trees here in Wisconsin.
You guys are getting a chance to do a little
pruning on those as well, aren't you.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Yeah, today, that's the order of business today, some big
burr oak. You know, we want to do these between
October fifteenth and April first. So there's and we again
we go all winter long. Some people are thinking we
have to raise the snow, but you know, the snow
is just a minor inconvenience, and sometimes it's the benefit, yeah,

(09:55):
because the loaders can move around on top of the snow,
not damage to grass. And so there's there's positive aspects
the winter work. And the gardens are asleep, so Darmancy
brings a great opportunity for removals and different things that
may have higher impact. And and see how winter you know,

(10:16):
we're we're into our winter swing now. We got most
of our plant healthcare all completed. Our plantings are in
the ground and we're uh, we're excited to uh get
into the pruning aspects of things.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
