six five nine six five three nine six. That's eight
sixty six five nine six five three nine six. And

(00:31):
joining us this morning from Hams Barborcare is Master Arborist
Kevin Ham. Kevin, how you doing this morning?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
While doing well, Sean, I just finished my morning chores
of feeding the boiler, and I'm actually trying to get
a recipe for the biochart in the boiler. Really, I've
got all his heat. Yeah, we don't fill it up
during the day, you know, partial partial feed for the daytime,

(01:01):
and well you put a couple of canisters in there
and lo and behold, I got I got a perfect cook.
Really yesterday during the day, I got a perfect cook.
Last night's is still cooling.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Well, that is awesome to hear. And for folks that
aren't familiar with biochar, an amazing product obviously for trees
and for you know, for all the greenery in your
yard and gives you nice you know, you want those
lush lawns and those healthy, happy trees. Biochar is an
amazing thing. Another great thing about it is it really
gets things clean, including your skin, and it really does

(01:41):
a great job of removing dirt and other things. And uh,
and you've actually crafted a phenomenal a couple of different
different types of soap using the biochar. And I still
remember Autumn are our previous producer. She used to rave
about the stuff, saying and she was one of these
like the eyeliner quite a bit, like I could never
find a soap that could get my eyeliner off. And

(02:03):
she's like, lo and behold, Kevin's biochar soap does a
great job on that. Now we are one week if
I see the calendar correctly, we are one week away
from uh Christmas Eve, which means stocking stuffers, fantastic gifts
and gameoftrees dot com. You've got folks covered there, don't you, Kevin.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah, you know a six pack is best, best price,
you know, yeah, at least six stocking stuffers right there. Yes,
they fit nicely in a little little stocking so Yeah,
great gift. Uh, Guatemal puzzle for your your puzzle folks. Yeah,
we've got we've got stuff there for your your average

(02:45):
folks and.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Arborius and uh and maybe an average folk that wants
to become an arborist one, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
And I just gotta gotta get people.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Yeah, I get that. And all I gotta do is
head on over to Game offtrees dot com. That's gameoftrees
dot com. Specials going on right now, just in time
for the holiday, just in time for Christmas. Again, just
head an over to Game of Trees dot com. That's
Game of Trees dot com. That puzzle if you've got
that puzzle person in your life and the real realistically,
who isn't a puzzle person. It's not only is it

(03:14):
a great puzzle, there's a great story and the fact
is you'll be putting together a puzzle from a vantage
point that will never be seen again. Kevin right, that
was you were in a tree in Guatemala and took
a photo from a tree that, unfortunately, because of healthy
concerns with the tree, had to come down, which means
that vantage point will never be seen again.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Of Temple one at the main complex at he called Guatemala.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
That is very cool and yeah, and that's available at
Game off Trees dot com. That's Game of Trees dot com.
And so we think about this time of year. Obviously,
you guys are going at Hams Arborcare. I saw a
recent video of of you guys, if you guys really
working in the in the colder temperatures, and of course
it's been that way of course with snow and other things.

(04:03):
But you guys are going year round at Ham's Arborcare
and things like oak pruning training, pruning removals, those type
of things. What a prime time to be doing that
kind of work, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Absolutely? And I'm actually you know, getting out there and
getting my hands durty this winter. Yeah, my son Taylor
is nursing a little bit of a back issue, which
I was not unaccustomed to back in my younger days,
and so I'm emphasizing with him and I'm getting out
there and doing He's out doing some sales and yeah,

(04:36):
I'm enjoying the outdoors right now.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
So you guys kind of traded you and Taylor kind
of traded roles.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
For yeah, for a period here.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah, Well that's I've got to guess obviously, for Taylor,
it's great to get a chance to work with people
and kind of put these put these plants together. But
I know for you, obviously you love working with people.
You love putting the schedules together and doing that stuff.
But I know you, Kevin, your passion is getting up
in the trees and doing this type of stuff. You've

(05:04):
got to absolutely love love this opportunity for you.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Yeah, There's been plenty of footage opportunity.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
So yeah, just just finding ways to do what I
love to do. You know, they say if you if
you do what you love, you don't work. You don't
actually work, you just have fun.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
The old vocation of vacation or something that I feel
like I had a teacher once try try and explain
that to me. It seemed to work out. I think
it worked out for both of us. Kevin, I think,
I think, yeah, it works. Yeah, and so Kevin. This
time of year, as we talk about about getting on
the schedule and other things. The other area is, I
know we're very much living in the now, and I

(05:44):
understand that, but it's also a good time to be
looking towards and for folks that are thinking about this,
we are as I mentioned just over a week away
from Christmas. Just the other day it felt like it
was it was Halloween. It was summer not too long,
which also means perspective wise, it's going to be springing
no time as well. And as we talk about getting
on the schedule for for prunings and other things, you

(06:05):
can do that now, but you can also start thinking
towards maybe there's a gap in your yard or some area.
Really start thinking about where you may want a new
tree or some other things. You really want to be
thinking out on this stuff as well, if you're able to, don't.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
You Yeah, absolutely, we've got you know, this week we're
going to be printing reports for our spring renewals. Oh
so you know, those of you that are you know,
having services performed by us with Plant Healthcare, you're going
to be getting a little notice in the mail here

(06:38):
in a couple of weeks. And and so we're already
thinking spring, you know, and our nursery is here in dormancy,
but we're ready to plant trees, and and you know
it'd be great to get out there and and and
bid some of these trees, you know, get get them
on the schedule so that we know you know what

(07:01):
to order up for spring. Springtime inventory is the best,
you know, best time to you know, get what you
want specifically, and and so yeah, we'd love to sell
trees all winter long and be ready to roll in
the spring with a big list.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
And that's it. And that's the great opportunity as we
talk about of course Game of Trees dot com for
ordering those holiday gifts, but also Hamsarborcare dot com. That's
Hamsarborcare dot com. Great place to start that conversation, can
telephone over, you can schedule as well, whether you're thinking
of winter treecare of course thinking spring and summer, adding
that beautiful, beautiful tree. What a great opportunity that is.

(07:38):
You can do it all Hamsarborcare dot com. That's Hamsarborcare
dot com. Before we wrap this morning, today is Maplesyrup Day.
I think National Maplesyrup Day today. I know we've touched
on it in the past about about the really you
talk about like a kind of playing the long game
for people that produce maple syrup. That is really a

(07:59):
multi generationtional commitment on that. But even having like you know,
we think about like maple trees and just just how
beautiful they are and all the you know, obviously you
think about sugar maples, and you think about things like
syrup and other things, but just like the color and
the shade, and trees really do provide so much for
so long. It's funny. I was listening to a podcast

(08:20):
yesterday and it was it's called the Economics of Everyday Things,
and they talk about quantifying the benefits of trees and
like urban environments, and one of the guys says, it
doesn't count if you if you can't count, it doesn't count.
And he's somebody that's kind of like trying to quantify
the value of trees in general and specifically in urban
landscapes and.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
The very measurable.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah, and once he yeah, once he did that, he's like,
and it's it's a huge number. We're talking tens of
thousands of dollars per tree, as far as like the
the overall value it provides to a community. And you
think about what that initial investment is, and of course
what a tree is worth to you. There again, they
give so much, and I think sometimes we kind of
overlook what a great, what a great blessing those trees are,

(09:08):
and taking good care of them and getting getting more planted.
They really do a lot for for very little and
ask very little of us and return Kevin.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
And that's why we're hams Arbor Care Yeah, and not
Ham's Arbor Removal.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
You know, we emphasize the care. We love to care
for trees and uh you know, they're a long term,
multi generational, uh you know, asset in your yard. And
they reduce the heating costs, they can reduce the cooling
cost they can they can do so many things.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
They do amazing things and of course they love to
get one. If you haven't haven't had a recent tree planted,
Kevin's got some great legacy trees and other trees as well.
For you haven't taken care of your tree, haven't had
a checked out, make sure it lasts long. Of course,
Kevin loves to do that for you. Today is the day.
Head on over the website Msarborcare dot com. H A
M M Sarborcare dot com. You better pick the phone,
give a call right now. Eight six six five nine

(10:06):
six five three nine six. That's eight six six five
nine six five three nine six. Kevin, it's always great
chatting my friend. You have a fantastic Dan. We'll talk
real soon.
