because you know the program's on and you want to listen.
Welcome to the program, and I'd really like to hear
(00:36):
from you. I'd like to hear your thoughts why you
would like me to talk about. My email is share
at Healingbegins Radio dot com. Share at Healingbegins Radio dot com.
Have you ever tried to follow God's plan for your
life and find it very difficult? And have you ever
(00:57):
tried to follow the plan and gave up and later
to it? I think we all have. We all can
relate to that. I can relate to that. When God
called me the first time, I told the Lord he
had the wrong number, he called the wrong phone. But
God just kept calling. He wouldn't give up on me,
he wouldn't stop. He wanted me to follow him. And
(01:17):
so I'm going to look at Acts chapter twenty seven
and twenty eight. It's about Paul sailing for Rome. Okay,
it's about that whole story where God tells him to
go to Rome. Everybody else really don't want him to
go because he think this is going to be the
last time we see Paul. It's going to be hard
on him when he goes to Rome. Sometimes, you know,
(01:39):
when God calls us to follow his plan, it's not easy.
There are tests, there are trials, there are things that
we have to endure to fulfill God's will for our life.
But we must keep going, especially if we know that
it's God's will. And Paul knew it was God's will
for him to go testify in front of Caesar. In Acts,
(02:01):
chapter twenty seven, verse twelve, it says that the winds
were favorable, so it looked like a good time to
launch out and sail for Rome. And so they began
to launch out, and they began to sail, when suddenly,
it says in verse fourteen, they were hit by a hurricane.
Now have you ever launched out to do God's will
(02:23):
and all of a sudden you found yourself in a test,
a storm, a life circumstance. And then the enemy comes
along and he says, well, if this was really God's will,
you wouldn't be going through this, And that's a total lie. See,
the enemy's goal is to stop you and stop me
from get to our destiny and our destination. And so
(02:44):
when we launch out to do God's will, you know
what in Acts chapter twenty seven, In Acts Chapter twenty eight,
Paul was in a ship sailing for Rome. And you
could say the ship represents our lives and where we're
headed for God.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
The winds and the hurricane, that represents things that come
up as we try to fulfill God's pan for our
life that are challenging and hard to work through. In fact,
it was a hurricane force winds, high winds. The ship,
it says in verse fifteen of X twenty seven, was
(03:21):
caught in the storm and could not make headway. I mean,
that is a bad storm. Now, I know what I'd
be doing.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
If I was in a bad storm like that and
the ship was rocking and going back and forth and tossing,
I've probably be thrown up over the side of the boat,
because I know I wouldn't be doing very good with that.
But and now this goes on for a long time.
The storm was so bad they thought, you know what,
we're gonna throw out our anchors. Hopefully our anchors will
(03:50):
stop us from flying along so fast, and that our
ship would be destroyed. But you know what, the winds
were too strong. The anchors didn't hold. You know, when
you're in a bad storm, it's good to throw out
your anchor. But when you throw out your anchor, put
your anchor in the rock Jesus Christ, because he will
(04:13):
always hold. You know, I grew up on the old
song on Christ, the solid rock I stand. All other
ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand.
And so they're being driven by the wind. And then
(04:33):
in verse twenty seven and chapter twenty seven, verses eighteen
and nineteen, it takes it a step further. It says
they were taking a violent battering. So, I mean, this
isn't the ship is falling apart, the wind is blowing.
It's dark. In fact, later on we'll see that for
(04:54):
fourteen days a night they didn't see the sun or
the stars. You know, I mean, it is really bad.
So they're going through a hard difficult timing. A lot
of times, if you're trying to follow God's will for
your life, people will see what you're going through. And
they'll say something like, surely, if this is what God
(05:15):
had planned for you, you would not be going through this.
And that's a lie, because when you're trying to walk
out your destiny and get to your destination, whoever said
it'd be easy, whoever said that you wouldn't go through
hard times, but you're not in those hard times alone.
(05:36):
Acts twenty seven twenty said they could not see the
sun or stars for days. Why is that important? Because
that's how they navigated. It was like they didn't know
how to navigate. They had no one to look at,
nothing to look at. They couldn't see their way ahead.
They couldn't navigate for days. And then in verse twenty
of chapter twenty seven, it says they gave up hope
(05:58):
of being rescued. In other words, they thought they were
gonna die in the storm. That's exactly what the enemy says.
When he gets you in a storm and you're trying
to fulfill God's will. He says, you're not gonna make it.
I'm gonna kill you in this storm. You're not gonna
survive this. Well, this is going on, and they've lost hope.
(06:20):
But Paul the Great Apostle received a word from an
angel in the night, an angel came to visit him
and told them they were gonna make it. They were
gonna be safe if they followed the following instructions. Now,
sometimes when we're in a storm and we're going through
(06:42):
a hard time, and we're all of a sudden, we're
reading the Bible and God really begins to speak to
us about what he wants us to do, how he
wants us to handle things. We need to follow those instructions.
Or have you ever been in a church and someone
walked up to you and gave you a prophetic word.
You knew it was from Jesus. There's no way he
could have known it. And he walks up to you
(07:04):
and he he says, he speaks something into your life
that is really valuable to help you to get through
the present storm you're in. I've had that happen. I
was in a Glacia Vida and grand rapids and Apostle
Alley walked by me praying in tongues and stopped and
he came back and he looked at me and he
(07:25):
gave me a word from Jesus' man. Oh man, it
was so powerful, especially when I know he didn't know me,
and you know, Paul said, hey, here's the word. We're
gonna make it. But listen, none of you can jump ship,
none of you can use a lifeboat. I've got a word.
(07:47):
If you stay on board, we're gonna make it where
everyone will be saved, no one will lose their life.
Effect the commander of the ship, we're going to kill
the prisoners. But he trusted Paul. He trusted Paul's word,
and so he told them and Acts twenty seven to
twenty five to take courage, Take courage. Joshua one nine
(08:10):
tells us to be strong and courageous. Then it says,
to be very strong and very courageous, because you will
lead these people to inherit the land. Then it says
in Acts twenty seven to twenty seven they were driven
along for fourteen nights. Man. That's that's like two weeks
(08:34):
of being driven in a storm. Can't see the sun,
mooners stars. I mean, all hell is breaking loose, nobody
has eight. I mean, why would you eat? You just
throw it back up from rocking and tossing and turning
and all that stuff going on. If they were going
to survive, they had to obey the word that Paul
(08:58):
gave them. Now, how does that relate to us? If
you're in a storm and you're really going to survive
and get to your destiny and destination, you need to
get into place a prayer and fasting and hear from
God what he would have you to do. Sure, he
will send other people to you as like a messenger
(09:20):
to help you to know what to do to get
you through your storm. But you need to have a
place a prayer in your house where you're seeking God
every day, where you're in his presence every day. Why
I need to know what He wants for my life
every day. So as they were being driven along, they
(09:43):
knew they were a commentary land and the ship ran
aground on a sandbar and it began to break apart.
So Paul had them all, if they couldn't swim, take
a piece of the ship, jump into the water and
swim ashore and praise God. The storm is over. They
(10:04):
made it on Malta. They're all safe. It's raining, they're cold.
So Paul decides, Hey, you know what, I'll go get
some wood and build a fire. Now the storm's over. Wow,
Praise God, the storm's over. Not But as he's going
out getting the wood and building the fire. He's got
(10:24):
the fire going. Then suddenly a viper, a snake comes
out and bites him on the hand and he shakes
it into the fire. Then the people said, oh, he
must have done something wrong. He survived the storm, but
now he's gonna die. You know, just when you're doing good,
just when you think the storm is over it, you're
(10:46):
gonna get bit by something. And you know, this is
a good example from Paul. He just took this thing,
this snake, and he shook it into the fire and
killed it. And they're all waiting for him to die.
No viper is really deadly, and they kept watching Paul.
But amazing thing happened. What happened you know the story.
(11:08):
Did Paul die? Oh? No, he lived. And now they
went from thinking he's a bad man, now they think
he's a god. And so this miracle of him surviving
the bite of the viper opens the door for him
to bring salvation and healing to the entire island. Wow.
(11:30):
You know, yeah, so wow. And so there are some
things that try to latch onto you, and they try
to latch onto me. We just got to shake him
off into the fire and pay no attention and keep
on going. But you know what, that's pretty difficult. When
something comes out and bites you, it definitely gets your attention.
(11:52):
You know, all of these things, all of the hard times,
all of the things that Paul was going through, the
whole purpose was that he would not fulfill God's plan
for his life. The enemy wanted to keep him from Rome.
But now they're on the island. Guess what. They have
no ship, they have no cargo. It doesn't look like
(12:14):
they're going to get to their destination. They're stranded. Ah,
but wait, no, No, the opportunity for the door of ministry,
the healing of the sick, salvations of those that were lost.
What it wound up doing. It wound up that the
islanders gave them a ship and supplied it with everything
(12:37):
they need and sent them on their way. Sometimes when
it seems like you're never going to get to your destination,
sometimes where it seems like you fulfilling the will of
God for your life is all over, Guess what I've got.
Good news. God is your provider, and he will provide
(12:57):
for your needs according to his richest and glory. When
God called Paul to be on this journey. He knew
everything that would happen to Paul along the way, and
Paul stayed faithful to the calling God had on his life.
I want you to think about this. I mean, how
(13:20):
would you like to endure a fourteen days storm? That
is one long storm, and that storm could represent a
life battle, a battle that goes on for months and
even years, and then you get through that battle and
finally make it to your destiny and your destination. The
(13:41):
storm that was no little storm. That was a huge
storm that Paul faced. Then in Acts twenty eight, verse ten,
it says that they supplied for Paul everything he needed.
And then in Acts sixteen it says that Paul made
(14:04):
it to Rome. Was that the place where eventually he
would lose his life? Yes, it was, But Paul always said,
for me to live as Christ, to die is gain.
Paul said, I fought a good fight, I run a
good race. I'm ready to meet Jesus. And that's what happened.
That he was beheaded on the eye. He was beheaded
(14:26):
in Rome. He died there, but he fulfilled God's plan
for his life right down to the very end. Wow,
that's where I say, Amen, and Hellelujah, Lord, help me
to be like brother Paul. Help me not to give
up when the giving, when the going gets tough, Help
(14:46):
me not to give up because you are with me.
If you are with me, who can be against me?
And you give me the power, You give me the strength,
You give me the ability to make it through to
the very end. And so folks, listen, just because you're
going through a hard time does not mean you're not
(15:07):
in God's will. But on the contrary, if the devil's
gonna fight you, he's gonna fight you when you're in
the middle of God's will. He don't want you to
stay there. See, that's the thing that he worries about.
What the enemy worries about is that you're gonna understand
and you're gonna figure out what God has called you
to do, what God is gonna call you to be.
(15:29):
And he gets really worried when he realizes you really
believe you can do it and be it. Then you're
gonna really give him problems, and you're gonna take a
lot of land for the Kingdom of Heaven. You're gonna
win the loss, You're gonna heal the sick, you're gonna
set people free. You're gonna give the devil hell on
(15:49):
earth by taking people out of his kingdom and bringing
them into the Kingdom of light. Listen, God uses normal,
average people to do extra ordinary things. Like me. Yeah,
like me. I grew up in Diamond Springs, Michigan, in
the middle of a cornfield. I was just a kid
(16:10):
in Diamond Springs. Most of my family have grown up
in Devon Springs, Hamilton area, lived in Diamond Springs Hamilton area,
and they will die in Diamond Springs, Hamilton area. But
God had a different plan for my life. He had
a plan to send me forth to do his will
in Costa Rica, Honduras, Hastings, Grand Rapids. I mean, I
(16:35):
could just go on and name all the cities where
I have been through where I've been ministering that God
has been doing amazing things. You know, God wants to
empower you this morning. He wants to encourage you. He
wants you to know you can do it, you can
(16:56):
make it, you can get through. So keep fighting the
good fight of faith, don't give up, keep going forward,
keep pressing on, keep your eyes on Jesus everywhere you go.
That's what you gotta do. If God before us, who
can be against us, And we overcome the world even
(17:20):
by our faith. We walk by faith, not by sight.
And so I read the end of the book. I
know we win, devil loses. But you know what, the
devil thinks he can win, so he fights. He fights
hard to keep us from the things that God has
(17:41):
called us to do. He will fight hard to stop
you from praying for your lost loved one. He will
fight hard for that. He will tell you that that
kid belongs to him. No, no, no, Proverbs eleven twenty one,
the seed of the righteous shall be delivered and and
the airrors of salvation. If that kid is your kid,
(18:05):
you can claim him for the Kingdom of God. And
you just say, no, devil, you can't have my kid.
Never never, never, or as they say in Spanish, nunka
nuka nuka. So this is the day to be encouraged.
Right now. I'm just gonna speak to you who are
down and depressed. I'm gonna say, get up, get back
(18:28):
on your feet, and keep going. God's plan is not done.
You're not a failure. God can use you in great
and incredible ways to do His will as you go
about your daily life. I know. I'm I'm gonna be
sixty five years old this year, and God has brought
(18:50):
me through many storms. You know what I realized in
sixty five years He always had a way of getting
me through. He always had a way of bringing me
out to the other side. The storms of life did
not last forever. They always had a time stamp or
a time where they would be over. But when you're
in the storm and you're in the battle, and you're
(19:12):
in the fight, it just seems like the storm will
never end. Well, I'm telling you what, the battle you're
in and the storm you're in has an ending. God
knows when that is. Hang on to the hand of
the Lord. He will walk with you. He said he
would never leave you, he would never forsake you, and
he will see you through. So, folks, I just want
(19:33):
to say, keep fighting a good fight of faith. You
gotta keep going. You can't stop. You say, well, I've
been knocked down so many times. Okay, maybe you have
well get back up one more time and keep going.
Refuse to stay down because the Lord is with you. Hey,
we all make mistakes in the battle. Sometimes you take
(19:54):
a wrong turn and you go a wrong way. But
I think in God's divine will, he already knew all
that about you. So when you get back on track
where he wants you to be, you're okay. You're right
where he wants you. And maybe you're not right with God.
If you're not right with God. Right now, just say this, Jesus,
I need you. I need you to come into my
(20:14):
heart forgive me of my sins and be my savior. Lord.
I put my hope in my trust in you. Now.
I want to pray for you. Lord. I pray for
all those that are under the sound of my voice
right now. And as I'm praying, I see people crying,
I see people feeling the presence of the Lord. I
pray that you would encourage people to get up and
(20:37):
keep fighting. I pray that you would strengthen them to
go another mile. I pray, Lord, in the name of Jesus,
that you dispatch your holy angels to minister to them.
In fact, I'm thirty four seven, says the Angel of
the Lord, and camps around those that love and fear him,
and he delivers them. So, Lord, I just pray right
(20:59):
now for everyone that is struggling, that you and encamp
your angels around them. For everyone that feels like they're
in darkness, I pray that the darkness would be pierced
by your marvelous light. For everyone who is depressed, I
asked that they would have new hope. So in the
(21:22):
name of Jesus, I bind the power of the enemy
who wants to shackle people and keep people down, and
now release people into the marvelous life that God has
for them. Father, in the name of Jesus, you are good,
You love us, you watch over us, and you're with
(21:45):
us every day, even when we can't feel it. I
pray for those that are in a physical battle right now,
maybe they're suffering from cancer or some other sickness. Jesus,
you are Jehovah Raphae. You are God our healer, and
I pray that you would release healing to every person
struggling physically now. In the name of Jesus, Lord, I
(22:08):
