Speaker 1 (00:15):
Good morning everyone. My name is Pastor Gail and I
have Stephanie with me. Say hi Stephanie.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Good early morning everybody. How are you doing today? Thanks
Pastor Gail for having me. I always love being here
with you and sharing God's word with everybody out there.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
I hope everybody's doing good.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Yes, and today. I don't know if you've ever struggled
with overwhelmed with anxiety. This is something that we're going
to talk about today. The subject is overcoming anxiety. We
have some points we want to go through, and so
I just want to say right now, overcoming anxiety, you
always need to have something good to fill your mind with.
(00:53):
And so I do want you to know right away
that I have a podcast channel. It's called Healing Begins
Spiritual Care. You can find it on Amazon and Google, Spotify,
anywhere you get your podcasts. I think I have only
one hundred and fifty three podcasts that you could listen to.
And none of it's political, it's none of it's denominational.
(01:14):
It's all about encouragement, it's all about healing. It's all
about whatever subject that the Lord would have me to address,
like we're doing right now. So the principles for overcoming anxiety.
What's number one, Stephanie.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Trust in God. I'm actually thinking of that. Proverbs says,
trust in the Lord with all.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Your heart, and lean out on your own understanding, but
on all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct
your paths.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
That is Proverbs chapter three, verses five through six. And
so this is one area that I will say, I
know how spiritually mature somebody is in when they're in
a storm and they have a trust in an abiding
peace with God that is not shaken. That shows me
(02:07):
someone who has grown in their maturity and growing in
their faith. Go ahead, that says in What does that
say in Philippians chapter four.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah, So the Passion translation says, don't be pulled in
different directions worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer
throughout each day, offering your faith filled request before God
with overflowing gratitude. Tell them every detail of your life.
Then God's wonderful peace that transcends human understanding will make
(02:40):
the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
And that version in the Niva says, in the God
of Peace will guard your heart and mind in Christ,
Jesus and it talks about in that scripture, this is
a really good scripture talks about it tells you how
to keep the peace and how to keep the pieces,
thinking on the things that are pure leveling and good report.
(03:05):
And then it says that with Guard Jr. Heart minding
crisesus the God of peace. There the word is Shalom,
the God of everything you need. And so conquering anxiety
can be very very difficult. Now for those of you
that struggle with panic attacks. On my podcast channel, I
(03:26):
don't know if it's number somewhere between twenty one and
twenty four, I have a peace not Panic meditation tool
you can do where I do the deep breathing techniques
with you, and I also have music to back it up.
It's been a wonderful tool that spiritual care we have
used because really, anxiety and panic are very real. These
(03:51):
are real things. What's number two?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Number two is pray and seek God's peace. So really
just along the same lines, you know, you got to pray,
talk to God, tell him what's going on, be honest
with him about what's happening, and then be still and
listen for him to give you his piece. What is
he going to tell you what's the lie you're believing?
We always say to our people and what's the truth,
(04:15):
And didn't just get real still? Ask him Jesus, what's
the lie I'm believing? Be real still and listen. And
then when he tells you that, say what's the truth,
and he's going to impress it. It'll come as a thought,
it might come through a verse, it might come through
a hammer song, you know. But write that down and
hold onto that reality, because that is the truth.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Psal I'm forty six verst ten. I believe it says,
be still and know that I am God. You know
what The hard part for me is to be still?
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Yeah, it takes practice.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Well, what happens is if you get in a real
quiet place and you're going to get really quiet, all
of a sudden you have all these thoughts invading your
mind and trying to distract you. So sometimes it takes, uh,
it takes time to be still. You might have to
put on some I have this music I play, but
it doesn't have words. Yeah, but it helps me get
(05:10):
into the presence of God. Number three renew your mind.
Romans twelve two says not to be conformed of the
pattern of this world, But be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, so you can test and prove
what God's will is, his good, perfect and pleading will.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Amen.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I love the Passion translation, it says, stop imitating the
ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be
inwardly transformed by Holy Spirit through a total reformation of
how you think. This will empower you to discern God's
will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect
in His eyes.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
All right, point number four, Cast your cares on the Lord.
One Peter five and seven through nine said, cast all
your anxiety beyond him, because he cares for you. For
your adversary. The devil prowls around like a roar and line,
seeking someone whom he may devour. Resist him. Stand firm
(06:15):
in the faith. Now, Stephanie, tell us how you cast
your care on the Lord.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Well, you talk to him about it.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Casting your care literally, just you don't carry yourself if
you think about maybe holding a big old pile of
heavy books.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Right, to cast those.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
On the Lord means you hand those thoughts, all of
those books full of thoughts, all those books full of
the worries, all those books full of concerns regarding your
circumstances over to him by talking.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
To him about it exactly so casting and by the ways,
how many times a day do you cast your care
on the Lord?
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Pretty much all day long?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
If I'm being honest, every time something comes up, I'm like, Lauren,
can you take care of this? One?
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Lot of I don't hold on it.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
A lot of times people don't understand that. It's that
very reason that we have to do it daily, because
the way I'm used to handling a care is by
grabbing onto what, thinking about it, mulling it over in
my mind, revealing it. So a lot of times I'll
give a care to God and realize ten minutes later
I've taken it back.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Yeah. Yeah, that's a discipline.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
That's a practice, kind of like we talked about in
the last show fasting. The more you practice casting your
care on the Lord, the easier it gets. Right.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
So when it comes I talk to God a.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Lot and I say, you know what, Lord, you're my father,
I said, You're my administrator, you're my manager, You're my
work boss. If you will, So, whenever anything comes into
my family, my work life, my ministry, my situations, I'm like,
I don't know what to do about this, So I'm
handing this over to you and asking you to number one,
show me what my part is and show me what
your part is. And then I just don't worry about it.
(07:50):
And every single time God always comes through. He'll either
bring me the right person or he'll bring me the
answer through another individual or a TV show or a
billboard like today's radio show. It's amazing. He loves you
so much. He wants to teach you and lead you
and guide you because he's a good father.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Then point number five, focused on the present. I want
to add something to this. I think focused on the
present is good because it says that Matthew six thirty four,
don't worry about tomorrow, but each day its own well,
or to stay grounded in today's grace. But why not
focus on a promise that God has given you something
(08:31):
for your feature Now. It may not be fulfilled yet,
but the Bible says of all of God's promises are
ya and amen in Christ. So why not focus on
something not only on today, but why not focus on
the good things that he says He's going to bring
into your hands tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Yeah, that's so good.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
And I just love the idea that God's name is
I Am right, it's I am so, I am Jehovah,
I am Jehovah rafa, I'm your provider, I am your healer.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
I am this and that and the other.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
So he's the God of this moment right now. He's
there for whatever you need in every moment. And if
he's I Am, you know that when you get to
that future, you're not going to be by yourself because
he's the I Am.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yeah. What blows me away about that is because God
knows from the end from the beginning. He knows. He
knows everything. He knows what we go through, he knows
what we struggle with. He knows it all. So Rita
point number.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Six point number six says, meditate on God's truth.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
All right, Psalm twenty three one through four. I love it.
The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want he
make a fee to lie down on green passers. He
lead a fee beside the steal waters. He restores my soul.
I just love it. Psalm twenty three is such a
good Psam. Meditate on God's truth, and then number seven says,
(10:00):
find strength in God's presence fear thou not frying with you,
be not dismayed frying thy God. I will strengthen you. Yeah,
I will uphold you. Yeah, I will uphold you with
my mighty right hand. That might have been King James
all the days. Then in verse thirteen, though, you gotta
go to verse thirteen because he says, I'm the Lord,
will take you by the right hand and we'll walk
(10:22):
with you all right. Read point number eight.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Point number eight is be grateful.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Oh, Thessalonian says, and first Tessalonians five sixteen through eighteen
is that we are to be thankful in every situation.
And we know that gratitude shifts your perspective. Rejoicing and
thankfulness brings peace. You ever wake up in the morning
and thank God you got another day on the earth.
(10:52):
All the time, you ever thank Him for the air
that you breathe, I do, the car you drive, the
shoes you wear, the person you're going to go do
a podcast with.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
I did, Actually I did thank you for that today.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
You know, Stephanie has a favorite song. We've come to
find out it's from toy Story. I got you have
a friend in me. Anyways, I shouldn't be singing on
the radio. I'm telling you that right now, so so
be grateful. But also nine I think is really important
seek fellowship and support.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah, we got to bear one another's burdens. You know,
life is hard and we need community, and it's we're
not intended to do the loone. When God created a
dumb or humankind in the Hebrew, he created the male
and female, so even in the beginning there was community.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
We're meant to do life together with other people.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Well exactly, and so but also when you're learning to
overcome anxiety, it's good to be with other people because
it saysn't If you read one Corinthians thirteen, it talks
about temptation, but then it says the temptation you're undergoing
is such as this common demand. So in other words,
there's been other people that have been through these same
(12:09):
temptations made it. Now you can find tremendous peace in
support by coming alongside other people that have been experiencing
anxiety just like you, but people who've made it and
overcome it.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Yeah. Sure, you know.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
You can receive counsel, you can receive encouragement. How did
they get through this? What did they do that? Helped
them when they were really struggling.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Definitely all right.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Repoint number ten.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Point number ten says go for counseling or seek healing ministry.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
And Proverbs eleven fourteen James five point fifteen talks about
God works through wise counsel and healing prayer. Christian counseling
or healing ministry can bring lasting freedom. And so as
we're talking about overcoming anxiety, if you're going through anxiety,
I want you to know, first of all, you're not alone.
(13:01):
You're not the only person that experience anxiety. I want
you to know you can have victory over anxiety. And
the most things that I want you to know that
God loves you. Did you know your love by God?
Did anyone tell you this morning that he loves you
and that he cares about you wherever you're at. So
the thing I find with anxiety is where you have
(13:23):
your mind fixed. So maybe it's not good to watch
news twenty four to seven. Yeah, maybe there's only what
one good way to do the news by turning it off.
Maybe it's not good too if you're sick with something
to look everything up on WebMD. Yeah, I mean that
would drive me crazy. I don't do any of that stuff.
(13:43):
So you know, it's good to control what you're bringing
in your mind, what you're listening, what music you're listening,
what you're watching, where you're going. All those can contribute
to you being overwhelmed with anxiety. But you know what
I was thinking, Stephanie, Suddenly they would be overwhelmed with
God's peace. Yeah, that in the room they're in right now,
(14:04):
wherever they're at, they'd be flooded with peace. They would
be flooded with peace. Yes, And so right now, why
don't you lift up a prayer for those that are
struggling with anxiety, Stephanie.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Father, we just bind the spirit of fear in the
Mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank you that fear
is a false prophet trying to lead your people astray.
Fear is false evidence appearing real. So we bind the
spirit of fear and anxiety and the Mighty name of
Jesus Christ. And Father, I asked that you would fill
their heart and their mind with hope, with truth, and
(14:41):
that you Holy Spirit would bring to remembrance all the
promises that you've spoken to them over their lives, and
that you would fill them with the faith to help
them in any area where they're struggling with unbelief, that
you would wash over them with your love, that you
would comfort them with people with with words of encouragement,
(15:01):
with messages through TV shows, through Facebook, through whatever, and
that they would know that they know that they know
that you have spoken to them and even comfort them
through the show, through our words, through this prayer, and
that that anxiety would quiet right now, just like a
bathtub's being drained, that it would just begin to be
less and less and less even as we pray these words,
(15:22):
and that they would have peace and be able to
be still and know that you are God. We pray
this in Jesus' name.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Amen, and Lord, we pray that you break anxiety. In
the name of Jesus, we pray that they would be
overwhelmed by your peace. You know everywhere people are at
right now, I just see somebody listening to this program
in the dark now if it's one even in the
morning everwhere's dark. But I see you kind of listening
with your eyeshot setting on the floor and it's dark
(15:53):
and you're just listening to our words come through your radio.
I pray right now in the name of Jesus. As
we would speak, our words would be words of life,
words of health, words of encouragement. Yes, I pray that
you would bring peace to where there's been unrest. I
pray that you bring hope where there's been hopelessness. I
pray that you bring light where there's been darkness. And Lord,
(16:16):
help people to know they can conquer anxiety. And so
I thank you for the healing of the soul. If
it's because of hurting events they've been through, where they've
been hurting, where they've not been able to break the
back of anxiety, I pray they would come for help,
ask spiritual care consultants to get the healing they need
(16:36):
and get the breakthrough from anxiety in the name of Jesus. Definitely.
Why do you tell people a little bit about what
you do?
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Yeah, So I run an apostol cob out a Lancey, Michigan.
Love what I do, and I'm an author and a consultant.
So work with people to help them fulfill their destiny
and to get wholehearted. That's my primary job.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
I love it. You can go to STEPHANIEA.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Butler dot com and find out more information about what
I do.
Speaker 1 (17:04):

Season Cat Seasoncat Healingbegins dot com, which is our media site,
(17:53):
and you can watch videos and testimonies of what God
has done for other people. You can see books that
I've written. So right now, I got out the unexpected
call about my trip to nine to eleven. I've got
out God moments, amazing encounters with the Divine in everyday life.
I've got out Jesus and the mountains. It's about the
(18:17):
mission trips we do and all the amazing things we
see Jesus do. I've got out the heart of healing,
because God's heart is to heal you. It's all about
our ministry, how it began and the healing process we use.
And book number five is coming out next week. God
Moments volume number two, another account of amazing stories of
(18:43):
the Divine in everyday life. And by the way, the
reason we tell you about these resources is because when
you're going through anxiety, you need help. When you're going
through anxiety, you need stuff to read, you need stuff
to put your mind on right. Stuff. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Absolutely, And I would say that book pastors talking about
the God Stories is a fantastic one to get because
hearing other people's testimony strengthens your face and you're like, Wow,
if God did it for them, they'll do it for me.
He can do it for me too. So that's a
great way. Look for testimonies of other people who've overcome anxiety,
and that's a great way to do it. So that
resource page with those videos and testimonies will be great
(19:20):
help to you.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
For sure, I'm hearing a song. There is no secret
what God can do. When he's done for others, he'll
do for you with arms wide open. He'll pardon you.
There is no secret what God can do. And you know,
(19:41):
the thing that I'm seeing right now is God is
by those that are listening right now. I see Jesus
by several people right now, and he just has his
arms open. He just has his arms open. You know
what he wants. He just wants you to run into
his arms and give him all your strives, all your anxiety,
(20:02):
all you worry, all your fear. You know, we're into
the Easter season. And the Bible says that he carried
our sorrows, and he carried our infirmities. And the Lord
carried it, and he bought and paid for it, and
he got the victory over it so he could heal
(20:23):
you from it. That's exactly why I still see him.
His arms are open. Why don't you just say, Jesus,
I run into your arms right now, forgive me my sins,
Come into my heart, fill me with the Holy Spirit,
fill me with your peace. That's what he desires to do.
(20:44):
You know, you've never been alone, whether you understand it
or not. The Lord has been by you every day,
whether you feel it or not, he's there. He cares
for you. Bible says that he is close to the
broken hearted right and he saves those that are Christian spirit.
Any other thoughts, Stephanie, Yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Was just hearing that verse.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Come unto me all who are laboring and are heavy laden,
and the promise he gives is, I will give you rest.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Take my yoke. My yoke is easy, and my burden
is like I'm reminded of how oxen will have a
yoke on themselves to oxen that are falling, and that's
the same, it's the same picture. But Jesus is in
the yoke with you, and he lifts up and he
carries your burden, so your burden can be lifted. So
(21:44):
many of you, I'm reminded of that old song burdens
are lifted at Calvary. Jesus is very near. And that's
the thing I want you to know this morning. You know,
if you're under anxiety, I want you to know that
Jesus is very near. He is with you, He's not
(22:07):
far away. All you got to do is say his name,
Just say it's right, Jesus, Jesus. Sometimes one of my
most powerful prayers are Jesus. That's helped me.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
So as we wind up this wonderful segment, Stephanie and
I love to talk to you, don't we do.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
We're so glad you're listening today. We just thank God
for you and we're excited to hear the stories about
everything He's spoken to your heart and how maybe you're
being encouraged or help. Be sure to reach out to
