Speaker 1 (00:16):
Good morning everyone. My name is Pastor Gale, and I
just want to say welcome to Healing Begins. You know,
life can be difficult at times. There can be a
lot of ups, there can be a lot of downs,
and especially if you're trying to walk for the Lord,
you can be going through trials, you can be going
(00:38):
through hard times you don't really know how to make
it through. So over the course of my life, I
have found how God has really taken care of me.
When I look back growing up and even as I
was in my twenties and thirties, I had times where
I thought, Lord, how are you going to get me
(00:58):
through this? How are we going to get through the
other side of this? Lord? I didn't see no possible
solution right away that was standing in front of me.
And I know there's a lot of you out there
that feel the same way about your life. You know,
maybe you've lost your job and you need a new
job and you've been praying Lord, I need a new job.
(01:20):
Or maybe you've recently been diagnosed with a sickness and
you have a lot of questions you feel like you
need a lot of prayer, or you're dealing with a
lot of discouragement. I mean, the list could go on
and on of what this could relate to, But today
I want to talk about resting in God's promises. That's
(01:40):
the message that I really want to get across. So
I come to realize in my life that no matter
what is going on, the Lord wants me to rest
and his promises. He wants me to rest in the
fact that he knew what I was going to go
through before he even created me. So that means he
(02:01):
also has an answer in a solution to the situation
I'm in, but I might not get it right away.
I don't know if you've ever had that where you've
been praying and you've been like, Lord, I need an answer.
I need to hear from you Lord, and you pray
and you pray, and you pray, and it seemed like
you're not hearing anything. And you pray and you pray
(02:23):
and you pray, and then if you do, if something
does come to you, you often wonder is this me?
Or is this God? And you pray and you pray,
and sometimes that is not easy to sort out. It
takes time to figure out is it me? Is it God?
And I have made it a regular practice in my life.
(02:45):
And you all know who listen to me that A
lot of times I'm up at four point thirty am.
I got my coffee, got my praise music on, or
I should say my special music on, and I'm in
my special place of prayer where it's just me and Jesus,
my Bible, probably the angels although I don't see them,
(03:10):
and it's quiet and there's no distractions, no interruptions. I
turned the news off, I shut Facebook off, and I
put my face in the book the Bible, and I
began to seek, and I began to pray. I began
to ask God to show me things, because when I'm
in a situation, or when I'm in a storm, the
(03:33):
best way to get through that situation is to hear
from God, to hear what God has to say to me. Well,
if I'm so busy doing other things, I'm not going
to take the time to get alone and spend the
time of the Lord. You might be saying, well, you
don't know how busy I am. Well, you don't know
how busy I am. So many times for me, I
(03:56):
get up at four point thirty am, and Twodays and Thursdays,
I don't get home to eight am apm. I mean,
so I have a full work day and it can
be very long and very tiring, but the most precious
time of my day is early in the morning. I've
(04:16):
grown to love that time because in the midst of
life God has guided me. When I've been alone with him,
he has spoke to my heart, either through a scripture
or just by showing me things in my imagination and
showing me what He wants me to do and really
speaking to my heart. You know, because I endeavor that.
(04:39):
For me, Jesus is not just someone I read about
in the Bible. For me, Jesus is my friend and
my savior, my lord, and he wants to be your friend,
your savior, and your lord. And so if you don't
(05:02):
know him, maybe you've walked away from him. Maybe right
now in your life you don't have no relationship with
him because of things that have happened in your life.
And you wondered, if God was truly on the throne,
why did he allow certain things to happen? While we
know that God makes the world with free choice, and
(05:22):
because of that, bad things can happen to good people.
I mean, I worked eighteen years and saw a lot
of tragedy and trauma centers where people were sick, people
got in accidents, all kinds of things went on in life,
but they all made it through. They all seem to
make it to the other side. So the other day
(05:44):
I was reading my Bible and I found a scripture
that I really like. And yes, you know, I like
all the scriptures, but this particular scripture in the Book
of Genesis, chapter twenty eight, verse fifteen, it's God speaking.
I really like it because it's got a lot to say.
When you break it down, I am with you, and
(06:05):
I will watch over you wherever you go, and I
will bring you back to this land. I will not
leave you until I have done what I have promised
for you. Wow, what a great scripture. I will not
leave you until what I have done I have promised you.
So in this scripture, he starts off by saying, I
(06:27):
am with you. Have you ever wondered if God was
with you? Have you ever wondered if he cared, if
he knew what was going on in your situation? What
I like about the words I am with you is
I'm not alone, I'm not isolated. The Lord is with me.
(06:49):
I am with you. Is a great scripture, and it
says Jesus said I will never leave you, nor will
I forsake you. I like that too. When the Lord
talks like that. It's always good to know that in
the darkest times you're not alone. And even if you
(07:10):
can't feel the Lord with you, he promises that he
is with you. You know what, we don't go by
how we feel. We go by faith and faith in
what God has said in his word. If he said
I will be with you, that's a promise you can
(07:33):
take to the bank. In fact, I'm glad he said
the word will. I'm glad. He didn't say maybe I'm
with you if you're good enough. He said, I am
with you number one. Number two, I will watch over
you wherever you go. Wow, have you ever gone into
(07:54):
circumstances and you didn't know how you're going to get
out of it? You didn't know what you are going
to say? But you're going into the circumstance. Well, God
gives you a promise. I will be with you wherever
you go. So there isn't anywhere that you can go
that God is not and that his present isn't with you.
(08:15):
So that is a great scripture, I am with you.
I will watch over you wherever you go. So there's
not a he doesn't say. Maybe he doesn't say I
will watch over you as long as you're good enough.
He just says, I am with you, I will watch
over you wherever you go. Then he said, I will
(08:37):
bring you back to this land. Now for Jacob, it
was the promised land. Do you ever promised land? Do
you have something that God has promised you? Well, he's
promised that he will deliver on his promises in your life.
God wants you to know he's faithful. He wants you
to know he's with you and that he will be
(08:57):
with you, and he will give you guidance and he
will give you a direction. He said, I will be
with you and watch over you wherever you go, and
bring you back to this land. What land the land
to promise? What promises do you have that God has
not fulfilled yet in your life? Think about that those
(09:23):
are your promised lands. God wants you to know that
you can have what he says he can have. And
if he promise you certain things, our God is big
enough to deliver, to deliver on those things. So many
(09:43):
times in life people feel abandoned God, where are you?
They just feel abandoned, And God says, I will be
with you wherever you go. You should take a piece
of paper and write Genesis twenty eight fifteen on it.
You should laminate it, put it in your Bible where
(10:03):
you can see it every day, especially when you feel
like you're abandoned, or you're rejected, or you're not wanted.
You know, there's such a good word, such a good
word for today. You know, the Lord wants you to
know he's going ahead of you, He's for you, he
(10:24):
loves you, he wants you to be a success. But
most of all, our Lord wants to draw you and
me much closer to him than we've ever been. And
it's not about religion. It's about a relationship with the
(10:44):
Lord Jesus Christ. That's what it's about. And so as
you go about your mourning, I want you to know
that even though you don't feel like anyone's with you,
the Lord himself is with you, and he is watching
over you, and he cares about what happens in your life.
(11:04):
That's really important. And so there's so many scriptures in
the Bible says that Joshua one do not let the
Book of the Law depart from your mouth, meditate on
it day and night, so you can be successful to
do everything written therein. Have I not commanded you be
(11:28):
strong and courageous, for you will lead these people to
inherit the land. And so he tells them that he
wants him to meditate on the Book of the Law
day and night. Wow. And then he tells them to
be very strong and very courageous. You know why God
(11:49):
would say that, because God knew that Joshua would face
things that were going to be difficult, and only when
he stood on the promises of God, and only when
he was resting in God's promises, could he truly make
it through to the other side what God had called
(12:11):
him to do. And so when you look at this,
we look at our lives and we looked out resting
in God's promises. The Bible says that not one of
God's good promises has ever failed. I love it, I
love it, I love it. There's so many promises in
(12:32):
God's word, and there's another one in the Bible where
I just say, I whatever you believe that you receive,
believe that you receive it, and it's yours. You know,
and so sometimes I think we struggle because it's really
hard knowing how to receive the promise, not only how
(12:54):
to believe it and rest in it, but how to
see it manifest in our life. You know, we want promises,
not just promised, but we want God to manifest those
promises that He gave us in our lives so we
will change and be different. And you know, the Bible
(13:16):
says in Matthew eighteen eighteen through twenty, if any two
of you shall agree on earth as asking or touching anything,
you should ask it, and it will be done for
you by My Father, which is in heaven for forever.
Two or three are gathered together in my name, they're
in mine in the midst of them. So if you
(13:37):
got some promises that are not fulfilled yet, you ought
to get together with a friend, you ought to get
together with a family member and believe and begin to
believe God for the promises that he has promised you.
You should get a notebook and write down the things
(13:57):
that stand out to you in God's word. If you
went to prophetic meetings where they gave you words, write
your words down in a notebook and begin to pray
about him. Pray him through right, and so you want
to be able to do that, and you want to
use the promises of God as you're resting in the
promises of God. You want to use them to fight
(14:18):
the good fight of faith. Oh, it's so important that
when you're in a fight spiritually, that you fight with
the promises that you're resting in. In God, he says
in his word, I give my beloved sleep. Oh, I
love sleep. I love sleep because I can get really
tired and need an app YEP. I'm going to be
(14:40):
sixty five, and there's the Bars and Nobles I like
to visit, and there's a nice chair in there, and
sometimes I sit down on that chair to read a
book and find myself falling asleep as I'm reading. And
so resting on the promises, you know, the promises of God,
(15:00):
standing on the promises of Christ, my Savior, standing standing,
standing on the promises of God. God just wants to
bless you with his presence. And so sometimes it's really
hard to rest in the promises of God. You want
to know why, because you have to trust God in
(15:21):
the resting. If you can't trust God, it's going to
be very, very hard for you. To rest in the
Lord and rest in his promises, because you'll feel all
that fear and maybe even doubt that you have enough
faith to see some of the promises through. You could
(15:41):
just say, Lord, help my unbelief. We're either going to
be resting on God's promises or we're going to be
stressing in fear. And fear tolerated is faith contaminated. So
the Bible says in Secretivity one seven and that God
(16:03):
has not given you a spirit of fear, but power
loving a sound mind him. If you're being crippled by fear,
you can speak to it, say in the name of Jesus, fear,
I command you to go to the feet of Christ,
leave me now in Jesus' name. But if you command
fear to go in Jesus' name, then you also have
to change what you're thinking on right, because you can't
(16:26):
be thinking about the old things you are thinking about.
So one way of resting in God's promises is you
are to take the time to write down some of
God's promises that He's given you. Then take the time
to review them daily, review them, pray them, rest in
them daily. I mean you'll see God do amazing things
(16:51):
in your life, So resting in the promises, trusting God.
You know, Peter, when they were in the boat and
Peter said, is that you, Lord? And he said it's me.
He said, bid me come down to the water to
you Lord. And Peter, without thinking, he just because Jesus
told him he'd come, he could come to him on
(17:12):
the water. He just jumped on the out of the
boat and he started walking and he did sink until
he realized he was doing something that in the natural
he could never do. And so then he pulled back
and began to sink, and Jesus reached his hand down
and rescued him. Right, so Peter went from rest and
distressing and he began to sink. And at least I'll
(17:35):
say this about Peter, I give him credit. He did it,
he made it. He walked on water. No one else
has ever walked on water, but Peter walked on water.
So that's awesome thing that he rested in the Lord. Rest.
You know. I just want to say this about resting
in God's promise. If you're going to be resting in
(17:56):
God's promise, sayes, you need to take time to rest yourself. So,
in other words, take time in your schedule to have
moments of rest and relaxation. We all need it. We
all need a nap now and then. But the Bible
says that God's promises are all yes and amen in
Christ Jesus and his promises are all true. You can
(18:20):
stand on him, you can take him to the bank,
you can believe him. God will honor always his promises.
What promise do you want to see come to pass
in your life? You know he is Jehovah Jirah. He
is my provider, Thank you, Lord. He is Jehovah Raffae,
(18:43):
God my healer. He is Jehovah Nisi, God my banner.
And There's so much I could say about all this.
But as we want to get to the end of
the program today, I want you to know that God
loves you, and he wants to bless you, and he
(19:04):
wants to go ahead of you. Why if you know
God is going ahead of us, I say, if God
before us, who can be against us? The Bible says that,
and many times the Angel of the Lord would go
ahead of the Israelites and prepare the way before them.
In the same way, I believe that we can pray
(19:26):
as we rest and the promises of God that the
Angel of the Lord would go ahead of us and
prepare the way for us too. Why not If God
did it in the Old Testament, he'll do it in
the New Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever.
And God says that he does not change. Therefore we're
not destroyed. So praise God in your resting pray and
(19:53):
believe God that he sent his angels ahead of you.
In fact, as you're resting in God, begin to think
about the situation you're believing for and begin to see
it accomplished. Begin to see yourself having the victory. Began
to see Jesus providing for you, take care of you
(20:13):
and doing all this stuff for you. I mean, that's
what you want to do, because what you'll see, you'll be.
You know. The other day I was in a church
talking and it was talking about how when they were
going to spy out the land of Canaan ten of
the Spice, as we can't take this land. The people
there are so big and we are so small, and
(20:37):
their eyes were grasshoppers, and they had what I would
call grasshopper thinking they didn't see everything God had created
them to be God had created them to be giant killers,
not grasshoppers. And so man, I mean, how do you
see yourself? I hope you see yourself as God sees you.

at their side. Lord. I thank you that you love us,
