Speaker 1 (00:39):
Good morning everyone. This is Pastor Gale from Healing Begins.
And I was up early this morning just thinking about Lord,
what would you have me to say today? You know,
these programs are not about some very structured teaching that
you're going to receive. I just tried to ask Lord
(01:00):
what is his message that he has for his people
out there and for people that don't know him and
that are maybe contemplating following Jesus, but they've not made
up their decision yet. And so the message that came
to me this morning, and by the way, welcome to
Healing Begins, was the Kobyashi Maru. Now, if you're a
(01:23):
Star Trek fan, you know what that is, but if
you're not, you don't have a clue what that is.
So the Kobyashi Maru is really about the unwinnable scenario.
So in the movie Star Trek, in that series, uh
in training their young conducts to be start fleet captains,
they were put in a simulation called the Kobyashi Maru,
(01:46):
which was just a totally unwinnable situation, and it was
meant to teach them respect for the captain's chair, humility
and other things they would need. Knowing that they would
find themselves and situations where they would actually without being
able to do it, they would lose part of their
(02:07):
crew without being able to save them. So in the
movie Star Trek, Spock was the one that designed the
Kobayashi Maru and then Cadet Kurt was coming up and
he knew he would have to face that. So he
did not believe in unwinnable situations. So he got into
(02:28):
the building before his day of going through the test
and he changed the test and he put a sub
routine in the test to where he could win and
win the unbeatable situation. So in the test, he's in
the captain's chair with his crew and they're surrounded by
(02:49):
four Klingon war birds and the weapons officer goes, are
you going to raise your shields? He goes no, Are
you going to alert sick bay? He goes nah, And
all of a sudden, the program went down. Then it
started back up and he goes, huh, are there shields
down over there? And the weapons officer. Weapons officer goes
(03:09):
they are. He goes fire torpedo one and he fired
three torpedoes, destroyed the war boards and he goes, we
saved the day we saved the world, Let's go home.
And of course Spock was really mad because he knew
that Captain Kirk or Cadet Kirk had cheated the test.
And so you say, well, what does that have to
(03:31):
do with me? I want to answer that. So the
Lord had put on my heart very early in the
morning that there are people out there that feel like
they're in an unwinnable situation, that the situation they're in
could result in their destruction and loss of everything. And
(03:51):
maybe you don't see any way out, you don't see
any way through, and the enemy has really got you
convinced that you're in this soon and your destruction will
be coming right around the corner. And so to me,
that's the lie that the enemy tries to cheat God.
You know, God has never been defeated. I read the
(04:12):
end of the book. We win, Satan loses, and so
and the thing is with God, if we will keep
walking with the Lord, we will get through any situation
we face with him. Now, will the outcome be always
what we want or what we think it should look like? Eh,
(04:35):
probably not, But we'll get through the situation, you know,
it says in Isaiah forty one thirteen. For I am
the Lord your God who takes hold of your right
hand and says to you, do not fear. I will
help you. And you know, the point here is that
as we journey with Jesus and keep our hand in his,
(04:58):
he will get us through whatever we're facing. I love
this scripture because it says he tells us do not fear,
and he says I will help you. So there's no
maybe in that God says I will help you, and
you know, I know the enemy. He just thinks up
situations where he feels he has the upper hand on God.
(05:23):
And you just got to remember that Satan is a
liar and he is the father of lies, and there's
no truth in him. And so whatever Satan has cooked
up to destroy you, God has a plan to turn
it around and to bring good out of whatever you
(05:43):
are going through. Now here's the problem with that. When
I'm going through something hard, I can't always see any
good that's going to come out of that. In my
present situation. You know, I went down to nine to
eleven two weeks after the terrorist attack, and I was
down there helping grieving people. And I've got to say,
(06:06):
when you're down by ground zero, Lower Manhattan. You can't
see anything good at the time that could ever come
out of that, and it might not be for years
later because a lot of people lost their lives in
that attack. And so we really have to come to
the point where we trust God no matter what that
(06:28):
our life is in his hand. You know, my grandma
taught me. She said, Gail, she said, when you don't
have the answers, you must trust the Lord. That is
the message I got for my grandma. And for ninety
one years, almost ninety one years old, I watched my
grandma live her life, almost die several times, trust the
(06:49):
Lord and make it to a good old age of
almost ninety one. And she went to heaven on her terms.
And so praise God for that. She was a great example.
You know, when the enemy has cooked up his kobiachi
maru for you, God has a plan. And I'm going
to read a scripture that I really like. To me
(07:11):
it's called the turnaround scripture is what I call it,
and it's a great word. It's in Romans eight twenty
eight through thirty nine. And we know that all things
work for good for those who love Him, who have
been called according to His purpose. Did you see it
says all things, not some things. I'm really glad the
(07:33):
scripture is clear and it doesn't say maybe or could
be or might be all things. For those God for
new he did predestined to be conformed to the image
of his Son. Now this is an area that blows
my mind a little bit. I got to admit I
don't have all the answers. But you know, God, in
(07:53):
his fore knowledge, knows everything. He knows who will and
will not choose to follow him. And yet within the
fore knowledge, within the planning, he gives us free will
to make our own choices. So he said, for those
who four he foreknew, he did predestined to be conformed
(08:14):
to the image of his Son. So things that we
go through wind up conforming us to His image. That's
the plan for those of us that are walking with Jesus.
You know, James. Chapter one says, blessed are you who
face trials of many kinds, because you know that the
testing of your faith develops perseverance, and perseverance must finish
(08:36):
its work so that you can be mature and complete,
not lacking anything. And so we know that those he
fore knew he did predestined to be conformed to the
image of Theirs, his son, that he might be the
firstborn of many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined
(08:56):
he also called, and those he called he also just,
and those who justified he ah, so glorified. Wow, I'm
so glad that God called me at a young age.
But you know, I had the choice. I could say
yes God, or I could say no God. I had
the choice whether I was or was not going to
(09:19):
follow the Lord. And then he called me to the
ministry and I ran for five years. I said, oh God,
you got the wrong guy. You don't want me to
be a preacher. I got too many insecurities, too many problems.
No no, no, God, No, no no. And I ran, ran, ran, ran,
ran for five years. And every time I ran from God,
I ran into God. And it was that way continually
(09:42):
throughout my life. And then I had my grandma with
a great big Bible and a rocking chair, who had
plenty of time to pray and rock, pray and rock praying, rock,
And you know, there were times where I was running
from God and God was still calling me to follow
him where he would my grandma what I was doing
when it was out at night. Man, you couldn't get
(10:04):
away with nothing. Often said that God was a tattletale.
He told grandma everything. So if you have a grandma
and you're running from God, you mustle surrender and give
up because you're not gonna keep running. You're everywhere you run,
you're gonna run into God. So he says, here for
those he called, he also justified. I thank you God
that we are justified by faith, just as if we've
(10:26):
never sinned. Now we're not perfect, we make mistakes every day,
but you know what, we are clothed and the righteousness
of Christ. Our sins are washed away by the blood
of Jesus. We have been justified by the blood of Christ.
And those he justified he also glorified, because someday we
will go to be with the Lord in heaven and
(10:48):
be glorified, and we'll have our immortal bodies. We will
be with Jesus. We'll see our family and loved ones
that have accepted Christ and gone on before us. And
oh what a day that will be. You know, my
grandma used to like that old song, What a day
that will be when my Jesus I shall see when
I look upon his face, the one who saved me
(11:09):
by his grays, and he takes me by the hand,
he walks me through the promised Land. What a day,
What a day that will be. And in the meantime,
while we're waiting to get to that day, we got
this day to live. Hey, you know what, Satan's a
liar if he's got you in what you think is
a kobiashi maru oh, I got a word for that devil.
(11:31):
In the name of Jesus. I pray for hope. I
pray for light to come into your darkness. I pray
for angels to be dispatched to go minister to you,
camper on you. I pray that, as I'm just preaching
right now going into this, that the spirit of God
would rest on you and would give you peace. And
that is presence. I don't know where you're at right now.
(11:51):
Maybe you're driving your car, maybe you're in your house,
maybe you're at work, and maybe you're jogging and all
that kind of stuff. I want you to know God
loves you, He knows where you live, he knows what
you're going through. You're gonna make it. You're gonna get
through hanging there, then going on into the scripture, It says, then,
what shall we say in response to all these things?
(12:14):
If God is for us, who can be against us? Oh?
I love that, I love that. I love that. You know,
because a lot of times the enemy goes, no, it's
for you, No one loves you. But if you got
Jesus living in your heart and you're trying to walk
with him, God is for you. And if we just
put your hope, your trust and you stand there, you
(12:37):
let God fight the battle for you. Who can be
against you? He who did not spare his own son,
but gave him up for us all, how will he
not also, along with him graciously give us all things?
Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen.
It is God who justifies then, as the one that
(13:01):
condemns no one. Christ Jesus, who died more than that,
who has raised the life and is at the right
hand of God interceding for us. Who shall separate us
from the love of God? Oh? Who, no, who who
shall separate us from the love of Christ, shall trouble
(13:21):
or hardship, persecution or famine, or nakedness, danger or the sword,
as it is written, for your sake, we fate death.
All day long, we are considered as sheep for the slaughter.
Knowing all these things, we are more than conquerors. Through
(13:42):
Him who loved us, through Him, through Christ, we are
more than conquerors. I love it. I'm going to go
on here. I'm in in verse thirty eight. Here, I
am convinced. This is Paul speaking. And we need to
get to the point that we are come that with
Jesus and with his help, we can do all things.
(14:06):
Through Christ that gives us strength. And with his help
we can speak to that mountain and say, be thou
removed and cast into the sea, and it will be
done for us. He said, For I am convinced that
neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the
present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth,
(14:29):
nor anything else in all creation, we'll be able to
separate us from the love of God that is in Christ, Jesus,
our Lord. Wow, that is a good place for an amen.
So nothing shall separate us from the love of God.
There's no angelic power, demonic power. There is no power
(14:50):
in heaven, on earth and under the earth that can
separate us from the love of God. God promises that
in the end, whatever we are going through, he will
turn it around for our good. The problem is many
times we can't see how that is possible as we
walk with the Lord. That's why the Bible says we
walk by what faith and not by sight. You don't
(15:13):
walk by what you see in the natural. You walk
by what you see by faith in the spirit. And
you call the things that are not as though they
already are. That's what faith does. You speak to that
mountain in front of you that you can see, and
you say, be thou removed and cast into the sea.
And you keep speaking to that mountain until it is removed.
(15:37):
Even when we make mistakes, Christ is faithful to us
to the end. There isn't nobody on the face of
this planet who hasn't made a mistake. There's no past or,
no believer, no Christian. We all make mistakes, and in
the middle of the mistakes, God is faithful. We all
(16:03):
go on to what I call little detours, and yet
God is faithful to put us back on track exactly
where we need to be. When I think about how
God works, I think it's amazing. I think when He
calls us and he knows what we're going to do,
and he knows how we're going to run. I think
(16:24):
all of that is included in the plan of God,
so that when we come back to God, we get
back on track. We're never late, we're on time. We're
right in the planet of God where he wants us
to be. I think that's what makes God so amazing.
All right, So if you feel like you've really blown
it and you feel like there's no hope for you,
(16:45):
you want to come back, but you feel like you
can't because you've been too bad. I say it's all
a lie. You can come back today and get back
right on track where God wants you to me, you
know it says in Isaiah one to eighteen. Come now,
let us reason together, declares the Lord. Though your sins
be a scarlet, they shall be white like well, though
(17:06):
they be red like crimson, they shall be white like snow.
So it doesn't matter what you've done. If you come today,
God will forgive you, cleanse you, and fill you with
His spirit and put you back on track. You know,
know the plans Jeremiah twenty nine to eleven. Know the
plans I have for you, saith the Lord plans to
(17:26):
prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you
a hope in a future. So if you're away, come
back and get back into the fight. Get back into
the race. It is not too late to get into
the race. To seek his face because he loves you.
Just say, Lord, I know I'm a sinner. I ask
you to forgive me on my sins. Come into my heart,
(17:48):
be my savior, fill me with the Holy Spirit in
the name of Jesus. I want to get back on
track with you. In Jesus' name, Amen, And I want
to read off till Matthew sixteen seventeen through nineteen. This
is another thing that God put on my heart as
it relates to Kobayashi Maru in the unbeatable situation. Jesus replied, Oh,
(18:12):
the unbeatable situation. Think about this. When Satan crucified Jesus
and then Jesus died, Satan felt that he had Jesus
in an unwinnable situation until Day three, when the gates
started rattling and the earth started shaking, and the demons
(18:33):
started quaking as Jesus rose victorious from the grave, and
the Bible says, if he'd have known, he would have
never crucified the Lord of Glory, because when he had
Jesus crucified, Satan sealed his own fate. I Love Matthew sixteen,
Verses seventeen through nineteen. Jesus replied, blessed are you, Simon
(18:59):
said of Jonah. For this was not revealed to you
by flesh and blood, but by my Father in Heaven.
For I tell you that you are Peter, and on
this rock I will build my Church, and the gates
of Hades will not overcome it. And I will give
you the keys of the Kingdom. Whatever you bind on
earth will be bound in heaven. Whatever you loose on
earth will be loosed in heaven. The promise was Peter
(19:26):
understood that Jesus was the Christ, the son of the
Living God. That was the revelation. And Jesus said, based
on that revelation, that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah,
the anointed One. The gates of Hell will not prevail
(19:47):
against the Church. And if we are believers in the
Body of Christ, we are the Church and the gates
of hell. There is no unwinnable situation. Because Jesus one
at all. When he died on the cross. I want
to end this time by looking at Matthew nineteen twenty six.
(20:09):
Jesus looked at them and said, with man, this is impossible,
but with God, all things are possible. So don't give up.
The situation is not hopeless. Stand on these scriptures and
keep fighting the good fight of faith until you see
your breakthrough. I read the end of the book we win,
