Walking with the Holy Spirit

Good morning everyone. I want to talk about walking with
the Holy Spirit this morning. I don't think we talk
about this enough. Recently, I was at a Glacia Vida
in Grand Rampa's and Pastor Riccardo from Columbia Revival Center
was there, and he was talking about his relationship with

(00:54):
the Holy Spirit, how he speaks to the Holy Spirit,
how he talks to the Holy Spirit all the time,
and what a difference that has made in his life
and in his ministry. And so I want to zero
in on that a little bit because I think it's
so important. You know, Jesus himself said it's expedient that

(01:14):
I go away so I can send you another counselor
another helper who will be with you forever. And John
fourteen twenty six says, and that this is like the NIV.
But John fourteen twenty six says, and this is like
the amplified, but the helper, comforter, advocate, intercessor, counselor strengthener,

(01:36):
and standby the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send
in my name in my place to represent me and
act on my behalf. He will teach you all things,
and he will help you remember everything that I have
told you. Wow, that's an amazing scripture to think about.
The word for the Holy Spirit in the New Testament

(01:58):
is paraclete peraclitos to one who comes alongside, one who
is my helper. And so the Holy Spirit is a person.
He lives in me, he walks beside me. He is
my power source. He is with me day and night.
He is with me wherever I go. And the same

(02:19):
it is with you if you know Jesus, if you've
accepted Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior,
the Holy Spirit and his presence is with you and
will go with you everywhere you go. And so when
we walk in the Holy Spirit, or when we walk
with the Holy Spirit, I think it's very important that

(02:40):
we live a life that does not grieve him or
dishonor him. You know, after Ricardo came and he talked
about his encounter with the Holy Spirit, how he talks
to him everywhere he goes, and how when he began
to talk to him and make mention of him and
his messages and talk about the wonderful holme Holy Spirit,

(03:01):
the glory of God would fill his church, that people
would begin to cry and fall under the power and
really began to be ministered to where everything else in
the past failed for him. When he would preach in
the subways and invite people to church, they wouldn't come.
And when he would preach in the movie theater lines
and invite people to come, they wouldn't come. But when

(03:22):
he started studying the life of D. L. Moody, Catherine Cooman,
and Charles Finney, he began to realize each one of
these persons their ministry really began to grow and expand
when they had a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit.
And for me, I feel like the Holy Spirit's a

(03:45):
great adventure. So in other words, after being in this
meeting with Pastor Ricardo from Bogatah September of twenty twenty five,
it really spoke to me about having a closer, personal,
more intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, where I talk

(04:09):
to the Holy Spirit day and talk to the Holy
Spirit night. You know. Moses in Exous thirty three, verses
twelve through sixteen, Moses talked about the presence of the
Lord and he tells God, he says, look, if your
presence doesn't go with us, don't send us up from here.

(04:30):
Who's the presence. It's the Holy Spirit. So with the
person of the Holy Spirit, he not only lives in you,
he walks beside you. And the Bible says that the
same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in
you and me. That's unlimited power. I remember today I

(04:51):
decided to go for a walk. Now, when you go
for a walk and you're mindful of the Holy Spirit,
your walk might be an adventure you meet. You might
meet people you know, people you don't know, and you
might have a chance to talk to somebody you didn't expect.
So I was walking around the park and came up

(05:13):
on the hospital and standing outdoors was the director of nursing.
I said, hey, you called a meeting without me, and
he started laughing. But there was something he wanted to
connect with me about, and he connected with me about it.
It was nice to see him and the friend that
he was talking to. And then a little further after that,

(05:33):
as I walked around the hospital, there was a lady's
elderly lady standing by the railing, hanging onto the railing,
and I could tell she wasn't feeling good. If I
asked her if she needed prayer, and she says, yes,
I need prayer. So I prayed with her, and she
shared with me what church she attended, and she loved them.

(05:55):
She loved the old hymns of the faith, and we
sang a couple hymns together. Then from there I walked
back around towards the park. There's a little stream in
the park, but I walked around the sidewalk walking into
the park and rode a couple I knew on a motorcycle.
They said, hey, Pastor Gale, and they came back around
and they stopped and they talked with me and greeted me,

(06:18):
and I talked to them and encouraged them, and so
on my way back to the car. After that two
my walk was quite an adventure. I had three different
in meetings, or three different occasions the Holy Spirit had
arranged for me to talk to someone. And so I've

(06:41):
just been thinking, Man, I don't nurture that relationship with
the Holy Spirit enough. You might say, well, how do
you do it? Well, when I get up in the morning,
when my feet hit the ground, I say, good morning,
Holy Spirit, and I go to the Word of God,
and I talked to the Holy Spirit and I asked
him to reveal himself to me. Now, the great thing
about this is some of the best radio programs I've done,

(07:03):
and pat the best podcasts have come at four point
thirty in the morning, when I've talked to the Holy Spirit.
And then when I go to bed at night, I
talk to the Holy Spirit. I read my Bible. I
try to get in his presence. When I drive down
the road, I do the very same thing. And I
tried to be in a mode of where I'm listening
to the Holy Spirit what he might say to me.

(07:25):
One day when I was young, I was driving out
of Holland, Michigan on M forty and maybe you've heard
me say this before. I heard the Lord say to me,
stop at the truck stop they pick up two grape juices.
It's like one am in the morning, and I'm like, Lord,
I don't want any grape juice. He said, pick them up.
So I got back out on M forty and I
drove toward over Iceol and I was going to go

(07:47):
off to the left. It was dark, it was raining
like crazy. There's no one out there, and suddenly my
lights came upon a couple that were walking in the rain.
She kind of looked like she was drunk. She was
staggering all over and he was hanging on to her.
So I went by him and the Lord said pick
him up. I said no, The Lord said pick them up.
I said no, I'm finally. At about the third time

(08:09):
of the Holy Spirit's prodding, I turned my car back
around and come up by them and I said, would
you like a ride? And they said yes, we'd like
a ride. I said, well, what's going on here? And
he said, you know, my girlfriend is having a hypoglycemic attack.
She's got low blood sugar and she's having an attack
right now. I said, hey, I just stopped by the

(08:32):
truck stop and I picked up two grape juices for you.
And he looked at me with the most dumbfounded look
on his face, and he said, are you an angel?
I said no, no, I'm not an angel. Angels don't
drive camaros. Back that time, I drove a Camaro and
I gave them the I gave them the grape juices,
and I said where do you live? And he said
about fifteen miles the other direction. So I took them

(08:54):
all the way home and see the car had broken down.
I didn't know that one am in the morning. It
was raining like crazy, it was dark, and so I
took him all the way home, dropped him off at
the house and he said again, are you an angel?
I said, no, sir, I guarantee you I'm not an angel.
Will you take money? I said no, I don't need
any money. I just wanted to drop you off at home.

(09:15):
So walking with the Holy Spirit can be a real adventure.
But I believe we need to be sensitive. We need
to be listening. We need to be sensitive to what
He wants us to do and when He wants us
to do it. So many times we want to stay
in our own comfort zone and we don't want to
get out of our comfort zone, and we don't want

(09:35):
to talk to people at times that God brings upon
our path. And so I have had just different times
in my life where God has set me up with
a person to talk to them about the Lord. One time,
when I was working in the hospital, I went by
this room and I heard the Lord say, go in
that room. And at that time I was a hospital chaplain.

(09:58):
I was like, what Lord said, go in the room,
And I went in the room. I wound up knowing
somebody that was there and I wound up because I
listened leading the person to the Lord that was in
the bed. And so sometimes you think, God, and thank
you a bit crazy, but why do you want me

(10:19):
to do certain things? And so sometimes I'll hear the
Lord kind of speak to me and say call so
and so, or call this person or call that person
and pray with him. And so the Holy Spirit, he says,
when he the Holy Spirit comes, he would lead us
into all truth. And according to John fourteen sixteen, the

(10:41):
Greek word we have for Holy Spirit is piricle. Now
in Psalm thirty seven, verse four, it says that God
will give us the desires of our hearts. Let me
ask you a question. What do you desire? What is
it that you desire from God, especially with the Holy Spirit.

(11:03):
What do you want to see? What do you want
to do? What is your motivating factor? What do you desire?
It says in Isaiah twenty six', nine my, SOUL i
desired you in the early. Morning, wow you know WHAT i?
Desire this is my desire that The Holy, spirit The

(11:25):
spirit Of god be my best. FRIEND i desire that
he goes with, me that he touches people Wherever i'm
at and if you're listening right, now maybe by, podcast
maybe in the, car you, know maybe you're listening to your.
RADIO i know that The Holy spirit is with you
right now where you're, at and NOW i want to

(11:45):
pray That god would touch you by the presence of
The Holy, spirit that you would actually feel his, presence
know he's with, you know he's walking with, you and
know he's walking beside you every, day and so right,
now in the Name, JESUS i also Asked god to
send the ministering angels to minister to, you to minister

(12:09):
to you rite where you're, at to give you, strength
to give you, peace to give you, hope and to
give you. Rest you. Know psalm forty two to one,
says as the dear pants for streams of water sold
my soul pants for, You Old, god do you for
the presence of The? Lord do you thirst for the

(12:32):
presence of The Holy spirit every? DAY i remember WHEN
i was first baptized in The Holy, SPIRIT i wanted
to find a pastor WHO i felt had a close
relationship with The Holy. Spirit and SO i did a
search AND i Found Pastor Wayne benson From Holland First

(12:53):
assembly Of, god The assembly Of God. Church it Was
First assembly Of god back, then AND i remember listening
to his services and feeling The Holy spirit move and
watching people run to the. ALTAR i remember saying in
my own, heart if there's anything THAT i want to,
do or anything that ANYONE i want to be, LIKE

(13:15):
i want to be like. HIM i want to CARRY
i want to carry that same ANNOYING i want to
carry that same presence with me WHEREVER i. GO i
remember listening to him talk about stories about being In
egypt and praying for people with goiters and the goiters
falling right off to the. FLOOR i remember him talking

(13:35):
about angels intervening And god intervening in places he was
going to stop. HIM i remember him talking all about The,
lord and SO i want to walk like. THAT i
want to walk like that the rest of my. LIFE
i want Those Holy spirit. Encounters, so you know, what
he's the. Person so he can be, shunned he can be,

(13:57):
hurt he can be. Wounded The Holy spirit is a
very very amazing. Person but he's very, gentle and he's
sensitive to what we. Do he's sensitive to what we don't.
Do so right, now in the name Of, JESUS i
pray That god would sharpen your walk with The Holy.

(14:18):
SPIRIT i pray That god would help us all to
have a walk that's close to. Him you, know everybody's got,
quirks everybody's got ways about him that you can pick,
on and everybody has. Flaws BUT i know That Benny
hin is a guy that loves The lord and operates
in his. Power another guy growing, UP i used to

(14:40):
look to His Charles. Finney they used to, say If
Charles finny ever got, saved the whole town would get. Saved,
well one Day Charles finney had an encounter with The
Holy spirit and he got, saved and everybody was. Amazed
he was the guy that would walk into a factory
and the whole factory got on their knees and repented

(15:03):
and turned To. God that Was Charles. FINNEY i used to, Think, Man,
Lord i'd like to be Like Charles. Finney i'd like
to be Like Catherine. Koman i'd like to be LIKE. D. L,
moody these old men and women of the. Faith i'd
like to be Like. Moses, man the guy was. Amazing
AND i remember how Much moses Saw god. Do and

(15:25):
yet what Did moses say To, god show me your,
glory And god says to, HIM i will put you
in the cleft of the. ROCK i will put you.
THERE i will cover you with my, hand and WHEN
i passed, BY i will remove my, hand and my
hind parts will be, seen but my face will not be.
SEEN i want to be Like, joshua who stayed in

(15:47):
the temple day and night in the presence Of god
and LEDs god's. People these are all people that knew The.
Lord they knew his. PRESENCE i want to be Like,
peter AND i want to be Like. Paul AND i
want to be like the men of Old paul And.
Barnabas and YET i don't want Everything paul went. Through

(16:10):
it costs a price to walk with The. Lord and
so When jesus was talking to his, disciples they were
having pretty successful ministry before the day Of. Pentecost he tells,
them don't Leave jerusalem until you've been endued with power
from on. High wait for the promise of The father

(16:33):
THAT i SAID i would send to. You so the
disciples up to that point had been doing amazing. Work
they've been healing the, sick casting out, devils saving the.
Loss But jesus, said it's not. Enough you're not ready
to reach the world it you're not. Ready so five
hundred people started in the upper. Room by the time

(16:55):
it was all, done it was down to one hundred and.
Twenty but though one and twenty because they, waited because they,
tarried they were there when The Holy spirit, fell and
all of them began to speak in other, tongues and
they began to preach The. Gospel And, peter who didn't
dare to stand up to a campfire girl and Deny

(17:17):
christ three times preached The Great pentecost, message and three
thousand people were added to the number. Daily his message
brought three thousand people into The kingdom that. Day and
then you look at The book Of. Acts she could
call The book Of acts The Holy Spirit book Of.

(17:38):
Acts it's it's stories of The Holy spirit moving in
The book Of. ACTS i Like, stephen when he was,
stoned he looked up into heaven and he, SAID i Saw,
jesus BECAUSE i See jesus at the right end Of.
God and as he was looking up Into, heaven his
face shone like an. Angel and as they were stoning,

(17:59):
him he. DIED i like the story Of peter who
was in, prison And herod thought he was going to
kill him the next. Day But god had another. Plan
god sent an angel to the prison and Let peter
out of. PRISON i like it when the disciples were
in prayer and all accord in one, place and after

(18:19):
they were done, praying after they were done, praying the
whole place was shaken by the power of The Holy.
Spirit what is your relationship With? God? Like what is
your relationship with The Holy? Spirit? Like maybe you'd like
to experience more of. Him, well first THING i would
do If i'm not right With god AND i don't

(18:40):
know The lord LIKE i, SHOULD i would rededicate my
life to The. LORD i would just, Say, jesus forgive
me of my. SINS i rededicate my. HEART i readedicate
my life to you And jesus'. Name. Amen THEN i
would also, Pray, lord fill me with The Holy. SPIRIT
i want to relationship with The Holy. Spirit, now if

(19:03):
you've Accepted jesus in your, heart The Holy spirit already
lives in, you and he is waiting for you to
have a personal relationship with. Him he's waiting for you
to talk to him like you Would. Jesus he's. Waiting
The Holy spirit is talked about like a. Dove he's,

(19:25):
gentle he's, kind he doesn't push himself on, you he
doesn't force you to do things you don't want to.
Do but he's, There he's with. You you're never. Alone
did you know that you're never? Alone wherever you, go
The Holy spirit is with. You he's walking beside you
each and every. Day so The Holy spirit is all

(19:49):
the way through The book Of, acts from beginning to.
End The Holy spirit was In genesis when he hovered
over the, water The spirit Of. God i'd hovered over
the face of the. Deep so The Holy spirit has
always been, around always been. There but now Since jesus

(20:10):
died on the, cross rolls from the, dead ascended into,
heaven he sent The Holy spirit to be with us
so we wouldn't be, orphans so we would never never be. Alone,
so if you have sin you're dealing with in your,
life repent of, it ask for, forgiveness Ask jesus to
cleanse you of the, sin and turn back to The.

(20:31):
Lord and SO i think if you'll start walking with
The Holy, spirit you'll begin to See god do amazing
things you never thought you'd see him. Do so why
don't you pray this prayer with? Me if you've Accepted,
jesus pray this prairer, Say Holy. SPIRIT i want to
walk with you each and every. DAY i want to

(20:54):
develop a personal close relationship with you WHEREVER i. Go,
spirit remind me That i'm never alone and That you're
always with. Me In jesus's, NAME a. Men, NOW i
want to pray for those that are, listening either by
radio or podcast whenever you're catching, This, LORD i pray

(21:17):
that you would comfort those that are mourning today or
strengthen those that feel. WEAK i pray that you would
put your loving arms around those that feel like they're
all alone and that no one's with. Them, lord in
the name Of, JESUS i pray that you would be
a helper to those that are, helpless peace to those

(21:41):
that feel, stressed and love to those that feel. UNLOVED
i pray that you would touch each person listening under
the sound of my, voice AND i pray that they
would know they're never, alone That you're always with, them
and that you care about them each and every. Day thank, You,
lord that you didn't leave us as, orphans but you

(22:03):
sent us the Precious Holy spirit that you said would
be with us forever In jesus', Name, AMEN i thank
