Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hartfeat Saint Louis with tj Aka Holiday bringing you the
pulse of the city. Hey, what's up this boy?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Doctor BJ? The DJ Holiday today is today that I
take time to educate. And what I mean by that
a lot of people were affected by the tornado that
hit Saint Louis on May sixteenth and just kind of
just just just just combobulated a lot of people lives

(00:35):
and just just took people into a whirlwind. And I
know that right about now, as we are definitely a
month out, the shock of it all is wearing out
and now it's time to move forward to start getting
some repairs done. One company that I recommend you to

(01:00):
uh take the opportunity uh to call if you're having
you know, roofing problems and other solutions that you may
need is my good friends over at Storm Pro Roofing
and Solution. And on the phone right now, I think
I have the man that run it all. I do

(01:21):
believe his name is Chad, and uh, Chad, how you
doing man?

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Hey b J, I'm doing great.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
How are you doing today? Thank you for giving me the
opportunity to be on the air with you today.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
No problem.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
So Chad, what is your position for storm Pro Roofing
and Solution.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
I'm the director of Operations. I oversee the daily operations,
make sure everything runs smoothly, make sure that everyone's that
our people are seen as treated fairly and kindly, and
she just like we do your family, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
So with that being said, tell me a little bit.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
About Stormpro, you know, you know, tell me a little
bit about the company and how many years you guys
been in business and things of that nature.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Storm Pro Solution Restoration has been in business since twenty seventeen.
We started off as a small, little mom and pop operation.
My father and my uncle ran it, and then I
got to I got to take over, and we have
been around and doing great work in Missouri, Cans and

(02:30):
other states for quite a bit. And we just love
working here at home.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, okay, good, Now, you guys do have some ties
to Saint Louis because to my understanding, you guys do
a lot of work with Mission Saint Louis.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
You want to talk about that.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
That is correct. Mission Saint Louis is one of our
biggest passions. We do a lot of work for them.
We're helping them currently work on some homes and if
there's anyone out there that wants to help out, donate
to Mission Saint Louis. You can reach to that Mission
Saint Louis dot Org. Great organization and it's one of
our biggest passions. It helps give us, helps us get

(03:09):
back to the community that we're from.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
So I know you guys have that passion to give back,
your passion to make sure that you take care of
the community. Now, one of the things I want to
talk to you about. I want to talk to you about,
you know, the tornado victims that are here in Saint
Louis that was devastated, you know, by the impact of

(03:35):
the tornado that came through here and just kind of
tore up Saint Louis. Now, I do understand that you
guys do roofing and restoration. Is that correct? So is
that like you guys replace roofs and restore things. How
does that work?

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Yes, we do roofing, gutters, sighting, We do interior work.
So if when the roof came off, they got water inside,
we can help you with insulation, the drywall, the painting.
We're pretty much a one stop shop. There's the way
we see ourselves as the only company you have to
call to do everything.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Oh really, So that means that if I need some
drywall done in addition to my roof, you guys can
take care of that and all that.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Yes, sir, we can help you with all of that.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Okay, all right.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
So one of the things I do want to take
the opportunity to talk about a lot of people were
affected and there are people that has, you know, insurance
on their home. So you know, the insurance company says, Okay,
your roof needs to be replaced and is going to

(04:50):
cost you six thousand dollars to get it done. I'm
just throwing a figure out there out of you know,
because I don't know if you can get a roof
for six thousand.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
I'm just throwing it out there.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
And so.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
A contractor comes out and they look at the roof
like storm pro You guys come out and then you
look at the roof, but you're noticing that there's more
damage done in order to get that roof taken care of.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
How does that work?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Does the person who owns the home do they have
to pay the difference on that?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
How does that work?

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Well, I'm glad you asked that question, because that's really
an important question. We get asked that quite a bit
when we go out and look at homes.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
What we do is what we go through will.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Assess the damage and then after work start, sometimes we
find damage, damage under decking, damage, would things that don't
meet the current building code. And so what we do
is we do something called a supplement, and a supplement
is the final bill will do after the work is complete.
So we do that, we give it to the insurance

(06:06):
and the insurance company is responsible for those payments, not
the homeowner. What it is is the way that the
homes were built back a few years ago don't meet
the current codes of now.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
So for anyone that does anything to a roof, to.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Your inside, or to whatever portion of the houses they're
working on, they have to bring the house up to code.
One of the examples is we're working right now on
a one hundred year old home who has their electrical
work was installed back in the twenties. You know those
old cloth lines that they us to use for regular

(06:50):
That home has a bunch of that that doesn't meet
the current building code. So the insurance company is paying
for us to replace all that because we have to
go into that wall and when we had to fix
the other electoral. We had to bring everything up to
the current code, and that's some hit the insurance covers
and a lot of homeowners don't realize, Hey, if you

(07:11):
let a contractor go in there and take a look
at it, they'll find the issues that the adjuster misses
or that you missed, because we take at the end
of the day, the just's.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Working for their insurance company. They're not working for you.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
And they're trying to save the insurance as much money
as they can.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Now, the one thing I'm going to say this right,
you said something very interesting, So people have to understand this.
The adjuster can only see what he can see.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
So when you start tearing stuff apart, there are other
things that's going on that a lot of times the
adjuster can't see.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
So I just.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Yes, the adjuster is working for the insurance company and
he's going to tell you this. That's why you gotta
have a great contractor to come in that. Can you know,
like you said, go in that wall, whether you adjusted
can't see and see everything in there that has to
be brought up to the building code.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Is that correct?

Speaker 4 (08:14):
That is correct? And I know with us at Storm
prow Solution. What we use is we use high tech equipment.
We have thermal cameras, we have items that can read
into the walls and see how much moisture is in
the walls. So we use these high tech objects in
equipment so that when we at the end of the day,

(08:36):
after we look at the job and we say, hey, look,
this is the reason why this needs to be repaired.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Disney's propreared.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
The one important thing that you need to remember when
working when having a contractor that's working on insurance plank,
they have to document, document, document and documentation is the
most important thing because if they don't document enough, the
insurance is not going to want to cover it. So
we've always my guys are always looking at overdocumentation.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
You can't ever have too much.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Yes, So like say, for instance, like people who didn't
get a chance to take a lot of pictures, right,
and then you guys go and you come in and
you start taking pictures of stuff that you found.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
You send that in to the insurance company.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Now, the other thing that I do though, and I'm
gonna say this right, I'm sure there are people out there,
you know, I know you want to get the money
in your hand, and you got an opportunity to get
some extra money. One of the things you have to
understand is is that it's not a good idea to
do this thing that when you get that insurance check

(09:43):
to do bids is not a good thing to do that,
because you can get that insurance check right and then
get somebody to do the work at a lesser cost, right,
and then you're thinking, oh, I got this little extra
money in your hand, But you're actually Sometimes when you
do that, you leave money on the table because what

(10:04):
happens is the insurance company is going to say the
job may be six thousand dollars to get it fixed, right,
but they're going to only give you like four thousand
to get started, right, So you do have six thousand
to play with.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Now.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
If you get somebody to do it for three thousand,
then you then left some money out there. Now, if
you hire a good contractor like storm Pro and have
them come out and when they start finding other things wrong,
that means that this job has won from six thousand
dollars sometimes to ten thousand dollars depending on how much
damage that has done.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (10:42):
BJ I'm glad you said that because that is so true.
Because what a lot of people don't realize is when
they look at their insurance claim, there's three letters that
they want to look at ACV, which is actual cash value,
and that's what the check is that the insurance company
sends out to you in the beginning the ACV check.
But if you look to the left in the middle,

(11:05):
there's another call that says our CV. If you look
at the at the end of it, at that number,
that number is a lot higher than the ACV number,
and that's the number that if everything that is on
their list is done, that is the number that you
get back after the contractor says, hey, yes, I did
all this work, this is what we did that we

(11:25):
submit all the documentation to the insurance company, and that's
the number you get back.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Is that our CV number?

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Right?

Speaker 2 (11:32):
That's and and that's what we want to say. Sometimes
people think you, oh, I can you know, get somebody
to do it at a cheaper price, but they then
lost out. A matter of fact, if you don't get
everything done on that on that list, and you don't
get it up to code, then your the value of
your home can actually go down.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
That is so correct. That is so correct.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
And you have some people that will will go out
there and get a rough partially repaired instead of getting
the full replacement that their insurance pays for, and then
later on a year or two down the road, they're
insurance gets counseled because when they send an inspector out
there or someone else looks out at it, they realize, hey,
this roof was there a broad to code right?

Speaker 2 (12:20):
And uh, you know that is why you you you
have to make sure that you get a good, good contractor.
Now I'm talking with Chad, owner operator for storm Pro
Roofing and Solution. So Chad, Uh, what is it that
makes your company different from other roofing and restoration companies?

Speaker 4 (12:43):
I would say the one thing that really separates us
a lot is that we are from the community. So
we understand the community, We understand situations that that we
all go through, and that we are not just looking
to make a dime. We want to make money like
everyone else, but we're not looking at just saying okay,

(13:06):
let's cut the corner here, Let's get the corner here,
let's get the corner here. We treat everyone like like
they are family. My one thing is, Hey, if I
went and put it in my mother's house, I'm not
gonna put it.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Into your house.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Okay, got it?

Speaker 3 (13:19):
And I think that's the one thing that really separates us. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Well, the thing of it is is that if people
want to contact you and the people of a Storm
pro roofing their solution, is there a phone number website
they can go to.

out the efforts here in Saint Louis that you can
go to Mission st l dot org slash relief. That
is Mission stl dot org slash Relief. Well, ladies and gentlemen,

(15:42):
of the things that are needed, especially in times like these, BG.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (15:48):

also needing help with your home, your home repairent, you
don't have the insurance. You can also reach out to
