The 2019 Division 1 State Baseball Championship was one for the ages. Two of the powerhouse programs in the state met for a title. Eau Claire North led 2-0, but gave up four unanswered runs to Sun Prairie through the top of the sixth to fall behind 4-2. In the bottom of the sixth, the Huskies began their rally with two outs and nobody on, eventually getting to state baseball and hockey player of the year in Wisconsin, Sam Stange, who launched a 400-foot home run to right-center to put Eau Claire North up 5-4 on the Cardinals, which would be the final score in this all-time classic.
