Astra, what's going on over there?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Got some good news for Wendy Williams. Her lawyer Joe Tacopina,
is claiming that she could be out of her conservatorship
by the end of the year. In a recent interview,
he said Wendy does not have frontal temporal dementia and
guardianship attorneys have assured the news of the ending of
her guardianship. Ariana Grande was surprised and full of gratitude
after receiving her second consecutive Golden Globe nomination for her

(01:46):
role in Wicked, calling it just as exciting and kind
of blindsiding. The Golden Globe Awards will air January eleventh
on CBS, and let's just hope she walks away a winner.
Jenna Bush from Jenna and Friends finally found her permanent
partner after Hotocopy exited almost a year ago. Jenna had
a rotation of people helping her co host, but yesterday morning,
she announced that she has now welcomed Chanelle Jones, who's

(02:09):
also part of the Today Show family and will now
be a permanent fixture in the seat right next to
her every morning dubbing the show Today with Jenna and Chanell.
Still try to get your hands on one of those
thirty dollars Starbucks Bear Resa cups. Well, they're giving away
seventeen thousand of them, but you have to be a

the return of the Starbucks for Life Marython, which kicks

(02:31):
off this week, and these Bear Reese the cups are
one of the instant win prizes, along with free drinks, food,
bonus stars, gift cards, and even Starbucks for Life.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
What do they look like? What do these things look like?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
By the way, they look like they're shaped like a
bear and they have the Starbucks logo on it and
a little hat.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
It's like super cute, but I don't know. They just
they blew off the shells real good.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
I gotta be a special member and I gotta play
a game in order to get the cup.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
And plus you have to attend at least three different
Starbucks throughout the country, so you have to travel to
either Denver, Los Angeles.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Within a day, right, well another give you a week,
They give you a wik They got a weak cap.
You'll have limited daily and weekly plays through January fourth.
To make sure you download that app if you haven't
done it already. Now, we've all been eating airheads since
the eighties. But how would you like to drink some
in the form of soda? Hell yeah, really, they've already
started rolling out the classic candy flavors like blue raspberry, watermelon, strawberry,

(03:22):
and orange, but not the mystery flavor yet. Steve Carell
is going to be starring in the HBO comedy series Rooster,
where you please an author dealing with a challenging relationship
with his daughter. The ten episode series premieres on HBO
and HBO Max in March. And Hulu just announced a
new reality series which is going to be set in
Hawaii that Dwayne the Rock Johnson's developing. And it's actually

(03:42):
about the culturally diverse women of the island where he
spent part of his childhood. And that is the dirt
to dish.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
All right, thank you very much. Ask for coming up next?

Speaker 4 (03:50):
How much do we tip our dorman, your male person,
your carrier, your ups guy, your superintendent. What's the sufficient
holiday tip these days? Because I think I'm still tipping
like I'm living back in the fifties.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
I got to run it by. I gotta run up
by the rest of the crew coming up next on
kt you.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
I know, the first like five times I did not
like it, But after that I got sucked in.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
I got sucked into her albums.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Really, wasn't that nice of Taylor Swift to do that
for us? A little intro there? Wasn't that nice?

Speaker 2 (04:19):
So I'm a low key swifty now I cannot get
over it.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
And you know what, the funny, we didn't even ask
for it. She just sent that she did that intro
for us for the morning crew, and we didn't.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Even ask for it.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
So it's great taste.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
Yeah, she does quescially about a nice relationship over the years.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
KT you, the Hollywood Hamilton Show and the kt you
Morning Crew. So we were talking about it a second ago. What, Uh,
I still feel like I'm tipping back in the fifties.
And in a minute, I'm gonna tell you why I
feel that way, But uh, I want to go to
Marie had a little bit of a list here the
correct holiday tips you should be thinking about, uh this
holiday season, your super, your your ups, you know, your

(04:56):
your dorman or whatever the deal is.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
This year, I made a little cheat sheet for myself
because I always forget. Then I start panicking about who
gets what and how much? Right the postman, I've read
no cash gifts under twenty dollars. I usually give my
postman treats and a little nice I.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Have to take care of the mailman.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Okay, okay, trash collector if you know them personally, fifteen
to twenty dollars or a small gift.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yeah. I was so embarrassed last year.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
You know, like I said a minute ago, is that
Marina loves to give cookies and cakes and different treats
to but last year she actually gave one of those treats.
She gave a bunch of cookies to our trash guys.
And we love the guys, but you know, sanitation And
he actually looked at Marine and he goes, what the
am I supposed to do with this?

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Are you serious?

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Tommy?

Speaker 8 (05:52):
All right?

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Your hairdresser?

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Yeah, an extra fifteen to twenty percent of your last
visit and an optional small gift.

Speaker 9 (06:02):
Georgios don't get your hair done until after Christmas exactly.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Okay, doorstaff, if you have a doorman, I.

Speaker 6 (06:08):
Have like eight, I know, same with us.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Twenty five to one hundred dollars.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Well, oh, if I handed my dorman twenty five dollars,
he would never do anything exactly for the rest of
my existence in that building.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Impossible. You got that totally wrong, Marie.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
I mean I'm just reading what they're are records.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
I guess it also depends on your type of building.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Yeah, yeah, well I live in a I don't live
in a brand new building, Astra. I live in an
old building in Jersey City. I mean, this is an
old building, but we do have much like I don't
know about you, Astra, but you know we've got multiple dormants.
You got the doorman late at night, you got the midday,
you got dormant. What do you do, Astra? Do you
tip the dorman that you never see? How about those
weekend guys that you never see? What do we I

(06:52):
don't I feel cheap because I don't do it that.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
I have seen almost all of them. However, I don't
interact with all because I'm not always coming and going
during the time. So the ones that I don't see
often are gonna get less than the ones that I
actually see, and I have noticed lately. I don't know
if you have Hollywood, how nice they've been? Good morning,
good evening. Oh right, this way, let me help you
with this.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
They start getting nice around mid optotes.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Anything you need, what do you need? Do you need this?
I'll help you with that. Let me get the elevator
for you.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Okay, what about building superintendents?

Speaker 6 (07:26):
They're supposed to get a lot.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
However, if I'm not interacting with mine, which I really don't,
he's not going to get as much as I've been
giving him before because he's not do.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Exactly bake goods. Baked goods.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah, here's what you should be asking yourself. Here is
the rule.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Ask yourself who you truly can't live without? Who makes
your life better?

Speaker 9 (07:47):
That's that's a good point, Marie well us on here
Onstide we tipped the garbage guys and then ups guys
all the time too.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
O ups guys, yes?

Speaker 6 (07:55):
And do you tip the Amazon guy?

Speaker 9 (07:57):
There's people that actually put out like waters and chips
stuff on their porch. When Amazon guys come and drop
it off, they'll pick up something and.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
My ups guy Garrett is so thankful for him when Marina.
Marina actually bakes a big cake farm every year, and
he's so thankful.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
He really doesn't he doesn't care about the cash or anythingbody.
He just likes this. You know, he can eat that
cake for the next four or five days, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
So, if I might add one thing, I was on
TikTok the other day and this girl actually made a
really good point about the tipping. She said, you should
take ten percent of whatever your monthly rent is. So
let's say it's a four thousand dollars rent, that'd be
four hundred dollars that you take in the tips that
you divvy.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
Up between everyone. And I thought to myself, that might
actually be fair.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah, yeah, I like that that works, Astra. Right, all right,
it's the Hollywood Hamilton Show on the KTV. I don't
know if you got anything out of that, Pezza.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
We just confuse you more. I don't know, Probably, yes,
pepril some money.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
Just throw them some more of the roses coming up
next KTU.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
And now The Hollywood Hamilton Show and the KTU Morning
Crew presents War of the Roses.

Speaker 4 (09:01):

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Here we go.

Speaker 8 (09:16):
I've been dating this guy, this loan officer that I met.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
What does he do for?

Speaker 8 (09:21):
He's a loan officer out in Long Island?

Speaker 1 (09:25):
He what were you working on alone?

Speaker 8 (09:27):
I was trying to get a loan.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
I just did that, got mine from TD. He was
a nice loan officer that was helping you.

Speaker 8 (09:34):
Super nice. Really, you know, like I said, I thought
he was hot. He was real smooth, real charismatic. You know,
I just found myself dating him. I don't even know
how it happened.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Uh was that the same with you?

Speaker 5 (09:47):
I know, I did not date my loan officer, Dorothy.
She's a lovely woman. There was no attraction there whatsoever. Okay,
but that's a little weird.

Speaker 8 (09:59):
Well, I mean, yeah, we were working out the terms
of the loan. You know, there there was a couple
of problems, and then.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
With the loan or with the dating.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
I was about to ask the same thing.

Speaker 8 (10:11):
Well, I guess both.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Okay, so you didn't get the loan.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Not yet, you didn't get the loan.

Speaker 8 (10:18):
I don't know yet. I'm still waiting to hear. It's
a process, you know, it's okay, okay, okay, all.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Right, tell me something. So you're dating your loan officer
while you're trying to grab and snatch this loan from him.
Excuse the words excuse. I totally didn't mean that. And
as you're trying to go for your loan.

Speaker 8 (10:39):
She stopped calling me. So, yeah, you.

Speaker 6 (10:45):
Gotta be kidding.

Speaker 8 (10:46):
You know what I'm thinking, Sandy bringing it to you guys.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Thanks. I don't think this is going to be a
good outcome. I mean, what's this loan Officer's.

Speaker 8 (10:59):
Name is Dad?

Speaker 10 (11:05):
This is Doug, Hi dog. What can I do for you?

Speaker 5 (11:09):
Well, my name is Marie and I'm calling from Redroses
dot Com. I'm calling to let you know that you
are going to be receiving a dozen long stem roses today.

Speaker 10 (11:23):
Really, yes, okay, hold on, I have a secret admirer
who's sending roses to my to my job to work.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
Well, you know you, I can say I can send
the roses to your office or I can send them
to your home.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
It's really up to you.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
You have the opportunity of sending a dozen roses back
for free part of our promotion that we're.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Doing this month.

Speaker 8 (11:46):
Okay, So do you have.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Anybody in mind that you would like to send roses to?

Speaker 10 (11:53):
Do they get them today? Do I give you an
How does it work?

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Well, they will.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
Get the roses tomorrow because it's a little too late
this afternoon.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
They won't get them until tomorrow afternoon.

Speaker 10 (12:03):
That's okay, Well, that's that's great. No, Fallow, let's send
them a vow. I'm sorry, Valle's will send them to Valerie. Valerie,
Uh fourteen sent me to the street in uh Farming,
Gellow Island.

Speaker 5 (12:19):

Uhcause we can't put a card on there for you.

Speaker 10 (12:28):
Let's say something like always thinking about you and hope
the roses making you the same?

Speaker 3 (12:36):
So you and how did you meet Valerie?

Speaker 11 (12:38):
Uh?

Speaker 10 (12:39):
People meet people. It's it's just something. Uh, it's a
little personal for promotion, don't you did you get did
you meet at the bank?

Speaker 5 (12:47):
Us meet a lot of people at the bank, A
lot of women.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Yeah, and you beat a loan officer.

Speaker 10 (12:54):
I'm sure, what's what's your what's your point here? What's
just got to do with any rose delivery?

Speaker 12 (13:00):
Well?

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Is do have a policy on dating customers that come in?
Because how much you want to bet Valerie as a customer?
Because I know Sandy, Sandy came in to get a loan,
and now she's having a little difficulty getting a hold
of you. It's kind of strange. How's her loan coming,

(13:22):
by the way, because I don't think she's gotten any
information back from you.

Speaker 10 (13:30):
Who are you? I want to know who you are
right now?

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Well, I just said, my name's Marie and I actually
work with a guy, Hollywood Hamilton. You want to say, hi, Hollywood,
you're bringing me on this show?

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Yeah, bringing you up.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Come on in.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
And I think Sandy's here too, you know Sandy.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Oh, it's just one.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
It is housewarming.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
Yes, gosh, we sure hope Sandy got that loan.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Did she get her loan?

Speaker 10 (13:56):
I can't tell you.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
All right, Doug, listen to me really carefully. My name's
hollyod Hamilton. I'm with a radio station called w k
T Radio here in New York City. Sandy who's been
a customer of yours. She's been on the phone the
entire time you've been talking to Marie. As you know,
Marie doesn't work with a rose company. She works with
wore the Roses here on kt H.

Speaker 10 (14:17):
Yeah, I Doug, how are you? I'm good, good, good
to your voice.

Speaker 8 (14:26):
Loan coming.

Speaker 10 (14:28):
It's been very busy on my end.

Speaker 8 (14:29):
I apologize.

Speaker 10 (14:31):
Really, it's lone season, you know.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Oh, I know, I know, I know. I wonder how
Valeries loan is coming. House Valeries loan don't come in.
I know. No, we're gonna let's address this right now.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
All right, Well, it's it's hard.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Sandy, Sandy, Sandy, have you slept? Did you sleep with Doug?

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Sandy?

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Did you sleep with a loan?

Speaker 8 (14:50):
I'd rather really not.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Okay, she did, she did.

Speaker 10 (14:54):
There's no to bring all of that stuff out. You know,
it's business, and you don't talk business.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
What's business? You mean sleeping with her? You're you're sleeping
with a.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Customer that comes in for a loan, and perhaps the
loan didn't go through, I guess, and then you stop
calling her.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Well, I'm gonna get you fired. I can tell you
that right now.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
I plan on making my next phone call, and it
might even get me fired, But my next phone call
will be to your superiors.

Speaker 10 (15:22):
That you know, hopefully we can resolve everything amically with
no need to involve anybody above.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
I'll tell you what, I'll.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
Stay away from calling your superiors if you level with
Sandy right now, which.

Speaker 10 (15:39):
Is not me, it's the bank.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
So they know you dated her, you slept with her,
you led her on or with Sandy's sort of sleeping
with Doug to kind of make sure her loan was real.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
I don't know. I mean, there is two sides. There's
two sides.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
I'm so glad you said that, because if I would
have said that, the hate mail would.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Have just come.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
I know.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
And hey, ladies out there, please I apologize. Don't be
upset with me, but you know that is a possibility.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Sandy sounds a little flighty. Sorry, Sandy.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
I don't know what to make here, but Doug I
can guarantee we're gonna we're gonna get an update.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
In three weeks. And this is not the end of it.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
So if Sandy tells me to pull the trigger, we're
gonna We're gonna try to convince Sandy to call your superiors. Okay,
so you better, in fact, you better get her the
home loan, right, make.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
That happen, Make that happen. Okay, very good, Okay, all right,
the update.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
So we spoke to Sandy yesterday and guess what, Doug somehow,
some way push the loan through.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
But this is kind of wild. Sandy told him that.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
You forget it, keep your loan ended up turning Doug's
loan down. And she told us and I quote Sandy,
I'm taking his rejection like a real woman and just
felt that it was a great lesson and I just
moved on unquote wow, I gotta.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Tell you about it.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
On the other hand, it took every bit of my
strength not to call the bank and rap this guy out.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
I really, it really did. That's basically it.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
She's moved on and Doug got away without getting rent
and on from her.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
And that was pretty much that k to you.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
War the Roses now her weekdays six thirty in the morning,
eight thirty in the morning and KTU dot Com.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
And let's not forget about the.

Speaker 9 (17:25):
iHeartRadio app w kt you like success New York.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
What we're gonna do right here is go back, go back,

weaving around taxis, spinning around Central Park, just me my
wheels in the music. I won't dare put those skates

(18:16):
on today, but I'm sure and I'm sure i'd break
something if I did.

It's time for story round up? What do you got
to make interested? You've got one shot.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
Yes it's corny, but it's so damn locally informative. With
that being said, let's begin with Anthony. Anthony, what's your
story today?

Speaker 9 (25:31):
Well, the Coney Island Bolwalk is gonna get a one
billion dollar makeover.

Speaker 8 (25:36):

more trash and that'd be people leave more trash behind.
All right, Astra, what do you got Astra?

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Well, you know, we're all familiar with cuffing season, but
there's a more toxic version now.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
It's called sledging.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Now, cuffing's all about finding a partner to coolsey up
with in the winter, and that could end up.

Speaker 6 (26:05):
Turning into something real. But sledging is where a.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Person cuffs you but they know that they're gonna end
up dumping that person as soon as the spring hits
without telling them. And this name comes from pulling a
sled through the snow, basically dragging someone along with no
intention of having it last?

Speaker 4 (26:22):
All right, Okay, so far the Coney Island Beach something
always beaten?

Speaker 6 (26:28):
How are your taking sides here?

Speaker 3 (26:30):
All right, Marie?

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Story, round up what you got for us?

Speaker 5 (26:34):
If it feels like you spent half of your life
staring at someone's bumper this year, the new twenty twenty
five Global Traffic scorecard says you are not wrong. The
average US driver lost forty nine hours of their lives
sitting and traffic. That's six more hours than last year.

(26:57):
What's the average driver in New York City? What did
they lose for a year? What did they lose?

was setting up a three hundred million dollar fund that
would compensate people who have sued the church over the
years for sexual abuse allegations. There are still nearly thirteen
hundred outstanding cases against the church that you didn't know that.

(27:37):
So three hundred million dollars it's not enough, but I
hope it helps a little.

I remember being one of the first people to play
it on the radio back in the day, Lady Gaga
