We are back Warn Roses. Marie. We've got Donna on
the phone with us right now. Donna, welcome to the show.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
We know you've been trying to get on War of
the Roses now for three four weeks.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
We sorry for the delay.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
There's a lot of people in line, and thank you
so much for calling us on War of the Roses.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
What seems to be the problem. What's going on with yourself?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Look, I'm just gonna come right out and say it.
I have reason to believe that my husband is trying
to kill me, and before I go to the NYPD,
I need to know. I need to know if it's
another woman.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
Okay, you are suspecting that your husband is trying to
kill you.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
So three years ago my father passed away unexpectedly. It's
been really hard and I'm so sorry he left me.
He left me some money. It's a little under three million,
and I have reasons to believe my husband has meticulously
crafted a series of accidental miss ups.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Oh okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Now, it also says in the letter here, just I
want to clarify before Marie and I get into the story.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
You have three kids that have moved on.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
They're in college now, they're of that age where they've
moved out of the house and they're all in college.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Is that correct, right?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Just me and him?
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Let me ask you this, I mean, is this money
that was left by your father is is it left
to you and your children? Is it left to the
to the family or how has that situation worked out?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
The money was only left to me. It was not
left to anyone else, not my children. There's some reasons
for that that I really would prefer not to get into.
Ok There. I don't come from a wealthy family. Fortunately,
my parents invested well. My mom died about six years ago,
and my husband is very aware that these investments have
(03:28):
really panned out.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Wow, Okay, let's talk a little bit about it.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Says here there's in your letter, and like you just stated,
there's been a series of accidental misapps that you've been
involved with. Marie doesn't know about this, nor does it
obviously our audience wait to hear this. Let's begin with
the faulty electrical outlet in the kitchen from the letter
I read.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Tell me a little bit about that.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
About six months ago, I was doing laundry in the
laundry room like I normally do, and I noticed the
washer was actually unfogged, which is super weird. So of
course I'm thinking maybe the dog did it. I don't know,
but I went to plug it back in and I
was shocked. I was actually thrown back across the room.
(04:10):
A small fire broke out.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
It was fine, and a small fire broke out, so
there was a current that went through your body. You
actually were you were thrown across the room, shocked, literally shocked.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
It was incredibly painful, and my my husband came running downstairs.
He was very emotional. He was crying. He said, oh
my god, this could have been so much worse. He
took care of everything. He said, it was a faulty
outlet and he fixed it. Okay, but it was just weird.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
How he was Okay, that's one of that's okay. That's
one of three, Marie. Listen to the other one.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
One of three.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
The other instance, I was carrying a heavy box down
the stairwell and I tripped, you know, unlucky I didn't
kill myself. I tumbled all the way down the And
when I when I composed myself, I went upstairs and
I looked and it looked like the rug had been
tampered with, kind of at the lip of the stairs. Yeah,
(05:11):
I've never seen before, so.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
She had a rug on it. So it was just
like like slightly a skewed type thing.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
It looked like it had been tampered with. I mean,
I don't want to be paranoid, but but it looked
like someone had had messed with it.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
At the lip of the stair The rug on the
rest of the stairs look fine, but it was just
that one little area totally.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Totally fine, right, Yeah, the rest was perfectly fine. It
was just.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Let's jump in because we got to move that. We
got to move along really quickly.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Here last number three in the letter, it stated, just
two weeks ago, this is the reason why.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
She she she's calling us now.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Two weeks ago she was and let me tell the story,
because this one's a little bit more played out for me.
In the letter you sent me two weeks ago, she
was getting into her car, she was leaving her house
in the morning. As she was driving out of the driveway,
her husband comes running out and y'all stop, stop, stop.
Donna then stops. The husband says, what's this guy's name,
(06:06):
by the way, Jay?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
So Jay comes out and as she's, you know, leaving
the car port there, he yells out, look, the car
needs to have maintenance done on it. The fluids are
low and need to be checked. And then you said
what I said.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
It's okay, I'm just going to the supermarket.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
And at this point this story takes place up in
the Catskills where they have a cabin. Marie, it seems like,
as I'm reading the letter that Jay breaks right. No,
he had a little bit of an alibi there, because
he warned her exactly it was break fluid, break fluid
was gone.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
That's what she said in a letter. Ye, right.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
So Jay claims that he had no idea that it
had been in that bad of shape, further solidifying his
role as a concerned husband. And and and on top
of that, Donna he did warn you, and it was
a windy road leading to the supermarket, and you still
it's like as if he knew Donna was going to continue.
(07:07):
Oh she's gonna go anyway, but he wanted to warn.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Her so he could say, but I warned her not
to go. I warned her that she needed to get
the car checked. Oh I feel so bad. Oh I
feel responsible. Oh no, Jay, you're not.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I can see it.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
So what really happened was I ended up applying the
brakes right down the street at a stop light, and
I did get in a fender bender with the car
in front of me, But nothing was worse than that.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
I mean, I do the math. People do the math.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
We need to call the police.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Yeah, Donna, Murray has a point. I don't think we
should proceed with this. This is something that whatever happens here,
we do catch him in a relationship with another well
that would help.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
I mean that might help your case. Oh sure it would.
But what if he doesn't for them? What do you
want to do, Donna?
Speaker 1 (07:59):
If he does not send the roses to another woman?
Speaker 2 (08:03):
A do you want to play this?
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Yeah, you have a point. I think it would be.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Best to just hang up Okay, let's get Jay on
the phone and let's see who he sends the roses to.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
This is this is unnerving to talk to somebody who
could possibly be doing something like this.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Oh, this is crazy. This might be a hurst. I'm
not sure. All right, here we got war the roses.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Hello, Hi, I'm calling for j How can I help you?
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Hi?
Speaker 4 (08:34):
Jay?
Speaker 2 (08:35):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (08:35):
My name is Marie and I'm calling from Redroses dot com.
I'm calling to let you know that you have just
won a dozen long stem roses today. Congratulations.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
I think I'll pass. I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
No, these flowers are for you. They come in a
beautiful Bacarat crystal o oz. The vase is worth at
least five hundred five point fifty.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
It's it's yeh gorgeous. What do you mean me?
Speaker 5 (09:02):
Wh's gonna give me a vase for five hundred dollars please?
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Well, that was what I was trying to explain before
we got disconnected, uh, was that these flowers are sort
of like a promotional vehicle to kind of get people
talking about us, get people to know who we are,
and hopefully these free flowers with this beautiful backerrette crystal vase,
you will help spread the word about our company.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
Yeah, and what else? Do I have to buy anything?
Or do I get no?
Speaker 2 (09:29):
No, you don't know.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
You don't have to buy anything. You could just spread
the word about who we are and how the flowers
were amazing and the vase.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Was Do you really expect me that you're going to
just give me an expensive vase like that? The flowers?
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (09:44):
Please?
Speaker 4 (09:45):
I feel really good about you as a person. And
you know you can send them to anybody special in
your life. Do you do you have a wife? Maybe
you want to send them to your wife.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
So hold on, let me get this straight. You're gonna
give me a Bacara crystal vase and I can pretty
much send it to anybody.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Correct, Yes, with flowers?
Speaker 5 (10:08):
Of course, I might as just send it to my wife.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
Oh you're married, wonderful. How long have you guys been married?
Speaker 5 (10:20):
Too long?
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (10:24):
I don't think I've ever heard anybody say too long.
I've heard not not long enough, or it's been a
really long time, or it feels like forever.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
But not never. That that's a that's a first.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
So, uh, what do we got to do? A heat? Honey?
Really tell me what I happened Okay.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
I love I love it when I'm called honey. I
just love that. You just made my day. Uh So,

Speaker 5 (11:10):
I got to come up with something too to write down.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yeah, you know it's it's your wife. I mean, shouldn't
be too hard. All right, Well, thank you, Jay, and
you know I hope your marriage turns out to be everything.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
You hoped it would be.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
What's that mean?
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Have a great day?
Speaker 3 (11:32):
