Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, welcome to the Creative Construction of Wisconsin home improvement
show on Fox Sports ninety twenty year iHeartRadio app coming
live from the Donovan and Jorgensen heating and Cooling studios
to get hot again. Make sure that ac is ready
to go, and don't forget the furnace because he had
to tell you, but they get hot. Last Saturday, high
school football is starting, which means at the end of

(00:22):
the season, you got it, you're gonna have your furnace
at And it's only a nine week season, so.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
It's try to believe, like, you know, Labor Day is
not that far away. I know, I mean, it's uh yeah, Well,
we always tell people. We tell them ahead of time.
You don't have to wait to get blow zero every furnace.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
No.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
What I like about them too, is we actually got
like an email saying, hey, let you know it's time
for your check up ahead of time.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Do you know. I love that because we're part of
that maindenance program with Donovan Jorgensen. They call and say, hey, like,
in three weeks, this is the week that you're right
that we're Well.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
The email me because I didn't answer the phone.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Oh yeah, I answered my phone because there's not even Jorgans.
I'm thinking, what are they calling me for? And then
the woman who bought the condo below us, they were
out this week to do our maintenance and she was like, hey,
can I ask what that was? Now? She just showing
the maintenance program so they can do our furnace in
her furnace.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
If anything, at least to change a filter for you,
because I know you get up every couple.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
I called Zach, I call Zach. He does that. Hey,
this is my beg given by the way, when let
me introduce my co host. He's the owner of Creative Construction, Wisconsin.
He is Bingo Emmons, one of our favorite people in
the world, is in studio this.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
And Sam said, yeah, sounds like something from NBA. And
I put that. I hope it's Pam.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, I know you did put that down, and it
is Pam. And I wish I could get her to
sing because I understand from a few people in her
chart she sings like an angel. Pam Lonis. She's the
director of events for Metro Builders Association.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
The best director of events ever ever.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Look at us. We should just shut the showdown and
play like love or something. Pam, how are you.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
I'm great.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Thank Kathy Lamafa says hello, Oh yeah, Kathy and Todd
and my sister in law Kathy a big fan of
yours and goes to church and was a huge fan
of your your father's. But she asked me to say
hello to you and she listens to the show and yeah,
I said, hey, Pam will be She goes, Please tell ourselves.
So it's good to see you. Mba paray to homes

(02:26):
in the Middle Mouth kind of right.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Yeah, right, We're through our first week into our second weekend.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
The first week is always the most nerve wracking. Right
now you're now things are rolling and you guys.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Are fine, especially last weekend that I'd be the first
weekend ever that was that kind of a mayster we
had unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Did you guys get through it? Or did you have?

Speaker 3 (02:46):
We made it through Saturday towards the end is when
it started to rain. But then I was up all
night just like, oh, what's it going to do?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
What do I do?

Speaker 3 (02:55):
But we did. We had to close on Sunday. It
was just too much.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah too parking, oh I bet, and even getting there
because on Sunday morning going to church. I go down
Lisbon to go to Birkside Baptist and had to go
through a lot of water. And then when coming home
I went up lisbonth they had shut it down. Yeah,
tod to come back and then go up Capital even that. Yeah,
getting places is very different.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
And both of our sites is here are in Menominie.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Right well, you know for this coming Fridays when high
school football starts. And then the satellite reporter for on
my twenty four for the high school football game of
the week, Mark Arrowhead against Marquette was supposed to be
at hard Park Hart Park at Football Stagius. It's fought
and they'll get it back. I don't know if Toast

(03:42):
Eastern Marquette will get any home games, but they're playing
this game at me Nominie Falls High School. So they
just made the change. And so Friday night six thirty
preview show seven o'clock kickoff Arrowhead against Marquette at Menominee Falls.
Because of the they were talking there are so many people.
Calman is a client of mine with the mcgiffern agency,

(04:05):
and they said, look, we are at least a month
from there.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I mean, you're talking to someone there. I almost say
his name, but uh, there're sixteen hundred people behind and
just people they get to it, he says, And people
are like, hey, you know because people that called me
and said, well, yeah, we got to try to get
a hold of Kilmen. Yeah right, and he says, we
try to. You know, it's just stay in the waiting
list because people are falling off. They're like sending out
emails now and say if because some people are just

(04:31):
finding alternative events, you got to do something. You can't
leave standing water in your basement, right, other dude, just
start the caamany and stuff, right, and you need to
throw it away. The highest part that people have about
their basements when you're wet is they want to save stuff. Okay, yeah,
if it's metal or plastic, you can clean it off.
But if it's closed fabric, do not put in a
washing machine. Don't think you're going to save it. You

(04:52):
have to get rid of it.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Right, one hundred percent. And when they again, I talked
to that at Calman and you said, look we we
I handle a lot of their their broadcast, advertising, their
their digital and he said, we got to pull way
back for at least a month. So mid September, maybe
we can.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
You can't blame it.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
It's like knowing I should that.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
It's like me was when I do a fall show
or something like this, people say, why you have it?

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Why are you here?

Speaker 2 (05:17):
You can come and do my house because but you're
so busy, right, And that's all we did this this
we've already been you know, my mom say, we're booked. Well,
we have a lot of past customers. You know, our
customers become our friends. So we're helping a lot of
people clean basements and stuff out, you know, And it's
it's really it's very time consuming because everything if you
work in someone's basement, you don't. You got to everything

(05:38):
you work on your close you got to throw it
all away. You gotta clean everything up to sterilize it
before we go to someone else's house. So there's a
lot of procedures to do this. It isn't just because
the water is not what you think it is. You
know it's bad water. Hey, before we go any further.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
As I'm nibbling on our treats, you got to think Cheney, right, Jenny,
I'm telling you I've never had a potato chip that
tasted like that. My goodness. I know.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I told her that's my new favorite one of all time.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
It's your favorite potato?

Speaker 2 (06:04):
What it was last weekend? She made those first time
she ever made those last week and I say it's
not my new favorite. So she made some just for you.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yeah, and I and I had the plate moved over
because they keep talking to me and you guys, hear them.
He mighty, he made come on back you like us.
I want to thank her for for for doing that. Hey,
when when we were talking about all the the flooding part,
but go you made a comment that, look with with
the parade of homes, their basements are not going to

(06:29):
get flooded. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
The reason why it was prayed to home was closed,
like you know, naturally I got to drive by because
I'm just curious it was. There was no place to
because you have to park on that field and they
had witch chips down right, just because it's you know,
some day it's gonna be cleared up and be someone's house.
But they you know, they got a couple of lass
for parking, right, there was no place to go park
because of how soft everything was. Right, But the way

(06:51):
they build houses now, and you know they're the way
they're built and all the drainage and everything. Nothing no
damage whatsoever. That's no thank A lot of where you
drive to Minami Falls and you can't cross roads right underwater.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Well, I know, when we're over on eighty eighth Street,
we had the sewers. They ended up redoing the sewers,
but we had backup sewer water and so we and
I told the story before, but twenty four hours, I
mean I had to mask the gloves, all of that cleaning, cleaning,
throwing stuff out. After twenty four hours of that, we

(07:25):
had Tyrann. I had tickets to Wicket, and I fell
asleep and I was snoring so loud that we had
to leave. She was not happy with me. So the
next time Wicket came to town with broad Broadway across America,
I made sure I got a good night's sleep, and
we went and watched it and enjoyed the show quite
a bit, but she kept helping me. Finally said, we
got to go because you're snoring so loud. And that's

(07:48):
what I think about a flooded basement. Right. The thing
about Kellman and again a client of mine, But if
you want it replaced, there's a lot of people that
can replace it if you want it restored to where
it was. That they're they're they're a great company to
work with. And like Bingo said, look, get on their
waiting lists because people drop off and they'll then you'll

(08:09):
get moved up. It's weird to me, guys, So Kernel Electric,
we got to increase some of this, especially generators, right,
increase when they're storms. Kelman, I have to decrease. It's
just two opposite ends of the spectrum on how what
we what I have to do through the mcgiverern agency
in that thought process is oh, they're too busy, pull

(08:30):
it back that we need people. All of a sudden,
there's one house in the neighborhood that's still has lights.
It's because they have a home stand by generator, hopefully
from Colonel.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
I'm a Colon Electric and you look at my building
and it's weird because the power will go out and
everybody in our building won't know it. We don't know
because it's so seamless, right, they don't know that the
power is even going on. I walk outside, man start
out here.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Yeah you know, you know, but you guys got to
get to keep working. That's how smart you are as
an owner? Hey, pay, how did the first weekend go
with the parayd to homes? And as we talked to
Pam again she's the director of Events for Metro Builders Association.
As we talk about the Paradive homes, go to NBA
Parade of Homes dot com for any questions you have

(09:15):
NBA Parada Homes dot com. How did the other than
the rain and having to close down? How did Saturday go?
Because that's that was kicking it off? How did the
door opening thing?

Speaker 3 (09:26):
It was fun? Yeah, so we had this year, we
had an actual door so instead of to probably told
you about.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
That there's two ways of things, the wrong way.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
In Toby's and that was that was Toby's idea and
it was actually fun. We had everybody walk through the door,
the ceremonial doors and it was fun. It was a
great kickoff.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Good. So, hey, what is for you? And you've been
doing this? How long you been the director of events?
How long you've been doing this kind of stuff?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
See, I'm in my seventh year. Okay, so I mean
director of events now I think I'm on four years.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
So the the template has been set on what works
and what doesn't work. What still keeps you up at
night obviously the weather day, the weather.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Honestly the weather, because like Bingo said, the parking is
we're parking in a field. Usually it's a couple of
lots that the builders or the developers leave for us.
But it's you know, it's either dirt or it's mulch,
or it's gravel, and it's just you know, making sure
everybody's safe. And that's what I think about the most

(10:28):
is I don't want anybody to get hurt and fall,
but we we really try really hard to make it.
I work with the developers really hard to keep it
safe and make sure everybody's good.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Is there a time so on this show more than
any other show I do we talk about you know,
that journey and you're dating here for a while, when
you have somebody to come and redo your you know,
your kitchen. Yeah, they're gonna be in your house for
a bit. Is there a moment before the paray to
homes where you know, ten days out where you're like,

(11:00):
these aren't going to be done in time? I mean,
do you start to have that devil and the and
the angel.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
And I've gone there like a week before Park, it's
so many you know, people say hey, we need help
with something. You go there? Where am I going to park?
There's so many contractors and everything trying to get everything
touched down right.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
It it's still I mean, even after five six years,
it amazes me how much they can get done in
just a few days. I mean I can be there
on a Saturday before it opens and there's so much
to be done, and then you walk in on the
first day and you're like, oh, I mean it's just
beautiful and everything's perfect, and I mean they were. They

(11:39):
work really hard to make it look nice.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Before I got into radio, I worked in the sports
world and I was the director of sales, marketing and
events game operations manager for a couple of teams. And
I can tell you that opening day would be two
weeks away, and I would be like, we're like four
months away, and I don't think it's going to get done.

(12:01):
But that snowball starts rolling down the hill and you
either get on top of it.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Or the other the way exactly exactly. And I don't
know if you know this, but Toby keeps a running
like countdown to the event, and he reminds me every morning.
You know, Pam twenty days, nineteen days. I know, I
don't care.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Whatever event is. They go, told me when's the next event?
He goes thirty nine days.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Yeah, you have fourteen hours to kick off.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
It's coming whether you like it or not.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
It's kind of cool. I almost kind of wishing to
let people see it. People that week before you look
just like, no lawns, there's nothing, just dirt, right. And
also you come back two days later there's lawns, bushes manicured.
It's beautiful and perfect. You're like, looks like you just
cut the grass. Yeah, just so perfect that Hey.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Which home building you reminding show Spring Tour Paraye to homes?
Which one for you is the most challenging.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
The prey, Yeah, and really it's it's just the logistics
of it. It's the parking, it's the just making sure
everybody tickets, and it's just all the little details to
make it perfect because we want it to be a seamless,
great event for everybody.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
And my favorite part is the food truck.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Yeah. We started doing that because people would try to
go a lot of people like to go to both
sites in one day on the weekend and they're hungry
and sometimes they couldn't find a place to eat. So
we're like, well we're going to bring food to them.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
So smart move. I mean I was there. I was
there for like four hours. You can't see everything in
four hours unless you're just walking past the front door
and wave at a hole. I mean, yeah, but you
going to do? You take your shoes off, you grow,
you look at it. It always got to take pictures
and stuff. I mean, I can't wait to see what
auditions you look like. She's gett all these new ideas.
I know she likes a big tub though.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
That was her.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Yes, those are really popular.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
How ticket salesmen going pretty well and people have to
understand a few and big all like to use this.
But if you get in the parking lot and you
go on your phone and order the tickets, then you're
going to save yourself some money.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Yes, yes you will.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
You stand in line and use your phone and save
you save yourself some money, and kid, that's what I'll do.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
NBA Paradive Homes dot com, NBA Parade of Homes dot com.
Let's talk a little bit about the two locations are
fairly close.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Yeah, there's about two and a half miles apart.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Does that help you?

Speaker 3 (14:26):
I think it is. I wasn't sure this year, but
really I think it's It's great people are actually able
to get to both sites in one day if they
want to.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
I went that first lot and I ran in the
Jimmie and he said, you'll be able to follow the signs.
He's right. It was easy to find.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
It easy to find. Yeah. I drove through in a
very easy to find two sites, twelve homes, and it's
been said, look, yeah, twelve homes. Didn't selling a lot.
It's it is. It's going to take you a whole day.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
There's one you would get stuck with the basketball court.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, you would get stuck in it. I'm gonna go
out there.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
I'm gonna either it's definitely.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
I'm hoping tomorrow TVs and.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
They got golf practicing ranges and stuff.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
I may just move in, yes, you know what, I'll
hide somewhere in the home and when you guys shut
it down, I'll turn the lights on it. I don't
think I can shoot it.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
The way they got. They got one of the houses
like a full it's a movie theater. It is like lounge.
It's like being a lounge in a Marcus or something.
It's it's it's it's crazy. Yeah, it looks like I mean,
it's really nice home.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
You know, next year you should pick one and say, listen,
I need to move in here for the next month.
I need to stay here. I won't throw any wild parties,
you know, anything like that.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
You can be closer to the site.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Yeah, there you go. That's a great idea. I like that.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Hey, with the recommendation that you have, if somebody wants
to get through all of these in the in the
day again that the hours are eleven to five, correct,
four to eight Tuesday through Friday, but then weekends and
later for day eleven to five, can they do it
in six hours? You think?

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yeah? Okay, yeah, I think olock right, yeah, don't leave
yourself at least some time, because I mean you do
want to go through them all.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Do you see some of the same people every year?

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Yes. That's what's fascinating to me is there is multiple
people that this is just a tradition for them. I
mean they'll come and say I've been doing this with
my grandparents since I was little or my parents. You know,
it's it's just a it's a fun event.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
And you wear the Metro Builders Association.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Gear you represent?

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Yeah, there you go. Yeah, yeah, I don't and your
creative construction. Yeah, we won't talk about I obviously am
not represent.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
At least you got a shirt on this time.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Thank goodness. Yeah last week didn't go. I was a
little cold in here, so iry to go grab one?
When when people is there? Do people come to one
location first more than the other or is it fifty
to fifty?

Speaker 3 (16:58):
It's really fascinating. I can actually see, you know how
many people go to both sites and it the trend
typically is more at one particular site one day and
then the next day during the week, because I think
you can't get through both. I would say you probably
couldn't get through both of them on a weeknight because
that's not enough time if you want to really see it.

(17:19):
So typically I think they'll go to one site one
night and then they'll go to the next site the
next night.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Do people have to buy separate tickets?

Speaker 3 (17:26):
No, your a.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Ticket one ticket.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
One ticket will get you into both sites one.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
And you can one time. So if you want to
come back, so you go through it and you go,
oh my wife would love this, and this home, and
that and that home the next weekend you buy another ticket.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Unfortunately, yes, but we do if you're really interested in
a builder, we do recommend you reach out to that
builder in insteat of an appointment. Even you can have
like a private appointment with the builder, just if you're
interested in particular house or something or builder.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
And some builders, some builders, they have tickets if you're
coming to buy it, if you're coming to them talking
about their hosts, they will give you a ticket.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
To Yeah, and I want to talk to you about
what's the price you'll you know, you know live you'll
pay for this? Did they?

Speaker 2 (18:14):
And I?

Speaker 1 (18:14):
We told me and I we talked about this last week.
But over the years, you've had properties that sell during
the parade of homes we have and I love that
the fact that that that has happened in the past.
So understand that if you're coming out and you are
looking for a home and you absolutely fall in love
with it, they will they will take an offer.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Yeah, there are a few that are well, there are
a few that are built specifically for a customer.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
That's like my favorite one to burg.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Yeah, they're the ones that developers too. They built that
house with something when you look at this house. This
is a huge house, and you're like, man, who could
afford this? They actually built it for a customer. This
isn't like they're going to build it and hope they
can sell it. Somebody actually ordered it this way. Wow,
And it wasn't me because that's how I would order.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Well, this this new addition, it looks like the new
edition you're having. I do trust me. You know, Dev's
got a notebook of things that she wants.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
And her tastes on my DA's are not the same.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
And I never get me say no, nobody cares about
your taste.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Yeah. Yes, she's working with with Scott Ryman on our thing.
And it's just like and he says, well, you're gonna
come to the meeting before. There's no reason for me
to sit down and talk to you because I have
no say that's.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
A do you see more women or more men or
is it a combination? And h wives?

Speaker 3 (19:31):
What do you It really varies? Yeah, I mean the
weekends you get a lot of families just because you
know it's the weekend, but it's it's a lot of couples.
To be honest with you, or like I said, a
mom and a grandma and a daughter. You know, they'll
all come together just because they've been coming for years
and they enjoy it. And there is a good amount

(19:53):
of people that actually just want to get some ideas,
Like they might not be interested in building a house,
but they liked to see what the latest thing is
and get some ideas. So we get a lot of that.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Yeah, some people are usually saying because I mean I'm
running a customer, you know, because you do the miling projects,
and they'll they'll show me a picture of like a bathroom,
right of a bathroom, and that you got it. It's
out of this book.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
It is well, this book is beautiful, and thank you
for the copy. I do not mean to put you
on the spot here, but I'm an assist. And we'll
get to a break. Bella Vista or Quiet would if
you had to tell somebody like me who hasn't been
which and I could only go to one, what would you?

Speaker 3 (20:34):
Yeah, Well, the difference really is you have more houses
at Bellavista. You have seven houses there. Quiet would you
only have five? But Quiet would are quite large, I
would say, yes, So.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
If you want to little higher rent.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Yeah, yeah, I mean they're like the seventy five hundred
ninety five hundred square feet. So I mean, if you
want to.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
I'll take two of those. Yeah, I'll take two of those.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
It's like Mike' said this house is only fifty hundred
square feet, and I said, that's a big house. It's
the smallest one on the block.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Small. Have you thought about ever running in politics? Because
you never answered that question. You did it beautifully. Oh
you did it. So if if you are interested in
the in the big moments, right, the big you know,
quiet Wood would be where you want to start, Bella
Vista if if a little bit more modest and you

(21:30):
and you there are more homes to go to. Well
that's a really good answer. Well done. You're not going
to take anybody off. Hey, we have to think nuns again, right, Yes,
each week I I do because I just they've been
they have been a true partner of yours for a
long time, and and boy, they they just each year
they keep getting involved because they get something out of

(21:51):
it as well. But I got to thank them because yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
I'm thankful for them every year.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
It's a great company.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Gaportive.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Yeah, that's awesome. She is Pam lonas she is the
director of events for Metro Builders Association.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Best director.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
I'm sorry I didn't have that on here. Sorry about that.
Pam the best director of events ever in any building
association or any other association for that matter. NBA Prey
to Homes going on till September. First again, go to
NBA paradeifhomes dot com. This is the Creative Construction of
Wisconsin Homiprovement show on Fox Sports ninety twenty and Your

(22:30):
iHeart Radio App. Welcome back to the Creative Construction of
Wisconsin Homiprovemage on Fox Sports nine twenty and your iHeart
Radio app. Coming live from the Donovan and Jorgensen Heating
and Cooling Studios. Our guest Pam has you know, shorts
and T shirt and our producer has long under her
in a park on and he's gonna take the park

(22:50):
off soon because Spencer, it's nice and comfortable in here,
isn't that?

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Yeah, it's fine, not Evan Jorgenson must have put in
his defense it's been for a while, I know, and.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
It'll be coold next week. I still have trust me.
I have my space heater in the car. When we
needed our special guest, she's the best director of events.
That's her new title, Metropolitan Metro Builders Association. I was
to say, Metropolitan.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Befare you forget Donovan Jurgerson. Don't turn your heater and
furnace on if it was underwater in the face point,
do not turn it on, into Donald George. Someone's got
to check it. People say, well, I'll just dry it
out with a fan. That's not how it works.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Yeah, because you're gonna get all that.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
You don't want. You don't need to switch at a
wire or something that got crowed in the wrong direction
with gas so needs really, you know, if you're in there,
I know you have to wait to get them there,
but do not turn that on until this.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
No, go get a window air conditioner and and make
sure wait till the Dinava Jorganson comes out and checks
its point.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Don't turn that on, no, because I mean, I know
you don't need it today, but you know this Wisconsin
next week.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
You never know, you never you never do know.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
But don't think, well, I put a fan on, it
should be all right. Don't take the chance. Uh hey,
because because I just Saint Jesse, she she can't. I mean,
she's getting water.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Heaters Milestone Plumbing. Yeah, Jean Wagner Plumbing too. Yeah. Talked
talked with Sherry Wagner and she's like, man, we are
swamped right now.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
You can't take a chance of those electronics with all
the switches on those gas things all at the switches
and one goes the wrong way, you're safe anywhere.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Yeah. And look, Jean Wagner Plumbing, Milestone Plumbing, these companies,
all local, can can help you out. And and like
Bingo said, don't just have them come look at it,
check it out. Make sure that that you can turn
it back down.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Here donovand Jorgenson subscriber.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Yeah, if you're a if you're on the maintenance program, Yeah,
I agree with that because they'll come out no extra charge.
If it's Sunday morning at at three in the morning,
they'll come out no extra charge. There you go. That's
Bingo Evans from Creative Construction off Wisconsin. Hey, Pam, the
the the Saints You Dream House. In fact, Bingo, before

(24:57):
I get you, Pam, next week we're gonna have somebody
from Saint You joined us.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Right, Yes, it was going to be here. He's the one.
It's it's our project. Their company put this thing together.
And it's I just can't believe everything except for the
land and in a permit or something was was completely covered.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
And yeah, I love that. And do you think this
this is a tradition and we'll do it again or
is it a one time shot.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
No, I think we're going to keep doing it. It's
it's just been.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Great so that the the Saint You Dream House is
part of the Bellavista subdivision, And so when you go
to Bellavista, understand, I'm sure there's a bunch of information
about this home and where the proceeds are going to
go to. And I have six grandkids. Yeah, and you
know we all right, and and look, Saint You does
great work. And to be able to do it this way,

(25:47):
I know other markets they would do like a raffle
and not able to do that here. So you guys figured, okay,
we can still get involved. And man, I absolutely have
looked at this house. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
And they're gonna sell it in their proceeds.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Yeah, the proceeds go directly to Saint Jude's Research Hospital.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Really. Yeah, got to think stepping Stone.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Yeah, I know they've been a great partner with them.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
That's not just it was like, hey, you guys, we
want to come on a build. They have to do
a lot of work, steppings on and do a lot
of work. You know, many people in our company have
to contribute hours and hours and hours. I put something
like this together.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Did they make phone calls then to other marriage people
and say, hey, listen, can you help us out with wen?
Can you help us out with this?

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Some they do. But what the way it works is
we start with it's called Bricks and Six's breakfasts where
we just invite any of our members to come that
might be interested in participating in it. And there was
a good I don't know, maybe one hundred couple hundred
people there. And I mean once people heard about it
and really understood about it, I mean they were just

(26:53):
the line was like crazy long to sign up to help.
I mean everybody was just right on board with it.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Do you know, Pam, I'm my high school show. We
do a thing called the Kernel Electric Superhero the Week,
and I ask him this question, And I would ask
the people at that breakfast this question. That servant leadership
heart that you have. We're not born with that, that's
a learned behavior. And I love to know where that
journey started. What's interesting when we have seniors in high

(27:21):
school and they talk about having to volunteer because they're
a national honored society. They said, we didn't know, we
didn't know that that, and almost to a tea, they go, look,
I get so much more out of this that that
made me that one, that one opportunity to help volunteer
and be do something in our community to help somebody.

(27:41):
Now I'm in three different clubs and that's what we
do because I get more out of it. And all
of those two hundred people that were at that breakfast
that stood in line to go, hey, I'm raising my hand,
what do you need from me? And look when when
you when you think about Saint Jude and what they do,
I mean they're they're they're fight against childhood cancer and
other life threatening diseases. They benefit children everywhere and for us,

(28:07):
for you guys, and certainly for Stepping Stone to say,
look we'll raise our hand, we'll do this. I just
I commend them. And I would ask the owner of
Stepping Stone, if you're sitting where you are where that
came from that servant leaderships.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Next week, yes she will be here.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Hey if you're listening, get ready for that question because
it's coming. I'm not going to blindside you at all because.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
All the children, any anyone that goes to Saint You,
it's it's all free. I mean, any treatment they get
is all free, which.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Is just amazing because they're there because they're insurance so
somebody won't pay for it, and that's why they're there.
So you know, if you buy this house, you will
be saving someone's life.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
Yes you will. Oh, if not more than one. You
can go to Steppingstone Homes dot net backslash Saints You
Dream Home, but it's right on their website and it
talks a little bit about why and why they're doing this,
and there's there's ticking and event information right there. And
then consider donating the Saint Jude directly. But understand why

(29:10):
stepping Stone did this. And I'm going to ask even
next week because that's servant leadership part. And those two
hundred people that stood in line and raised their hand
and said what do you need from us? I commend them.
And there's too many to talk about, but I can
tell you that they know who they are and I
and I applaud you guys because this is something that

(29:30):
a lot of people are like, no, I'm not getting
involved in that. Once they get involved him and they
see what their help is doing exactly, they're going to
continue to be to get involved.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Another cool thing we did was while the house was
being built, we went to the house. I don't know
if you were part of that bingo, but we actually
went up to one of the bedrooms and we all
got to sign the floor. Anybody that was part of
this Saint Jude home got to sign the floor. And
they had a patient family there that talked about their
story of you know, everything, and it's just amazing.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Look, I don't mean to keep going off the rails
on this thing, but with that high school it's sports
show I do. The WFCA Wisconsin Football Coach Association runs
an all star game right for seniors this year last
You get selected, you get nominated, get selected, and it's
to raise money for Children's hospital. And these kids go

(30:23):
into this thinking, man, I'm an all star. I get
to play one more high school football game, and it's
so much more. Every kid I have that comes in
and says, look that what I thought was the biggest part,
which with a game to play on the field at
uw Ashkosh was so secondary. When we met families from

(30:43):
from Children's of Wiscont's Children's Hospital of Kids that we
helped by donating all this money. Like, it's so much
more than just a game. And this is so much
more than building and selling a home. It has so
much more to it than that, and I would just
really recommend.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
I mean, see some people, you know, like we do
a lot of We do a lot of stuff in
our company too, but we can't afford to write like
a big check. But I can't afford to help. Yeah,
we can afford to. We can afford to help us
some kind of service, you know, put handrails and do something.
We can always afford to do something.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Guys, when you go to NBA Builds, I actually go
to NBA preadive homes dot com, NBA preadifhomes dot com,
and you can find information on the Saints huge dream.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Let's say you get the food trucks schedules.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
I do would you like to know? In here? I'm
telling you because I'm thinking I'm gonna go out there tomorrow.
So I went right to Sunday. It's to be determined
over at the Bella Vista, and then at quiet Wood
double Double Dubs, it's called Yeah, I'll be there and
you know what, if you're there, I'll buy you something.

(31:52):
Then I'll buy your water and show up just and
mister Pea's grilled cheese is there quite a bit, so
I gotta love them.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
And tomorrow at Quietwood is on the block.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Burgers that tomorrow or that's today, I think.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Or is it today? Is yeah? Okay, one of them
is today and one of them is tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Yeah, on the block Burgers and then Double Dubs, and
you just know you're going to get food.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Yeah, you're going to get food.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
You have had something from one of the food trucks, Oh,
I sure have.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Yes, we have an Atwood barbecue that's there every year.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
And it's pretty good that I love that sound that
means she gives them the thumbs up. And then coffee
in a cloud. There's just a lot of things you
can look. You're going to see great homes and then
make sure you wait to have lunch and have something
to eat out there. What is the cost on the tickets,
by the way.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
It's twenty dollars if you go and purchase at the gate.
If you go online ahead of time. You can save
two dollars and get them for eighteen seniors and military
or ten dollars, and then children three and under are free,
and then sixteen and under is ten dollars, and.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
You have a family pass. We do fifty.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Both started that.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Yes, so I talked about a family at church, the
Gill family, seventeen kids, seventeen kids. One is better looking
at the next thing. They're all smarter than me, for sure,
Wilson and Bonnie gil That's what I'm thinking. You know what,
the Gill family should buy a fifty dollars pass and

(33:22):
they can all go through it and they would love it. Hey,
let's talk real quick before we get to a break
about some of the developers that are involved in this.
And at Bella Vista it's allan builders. You build a
custom homes, Renovations, Tim O'Brien, Aspen, New Path, stepping Stone
and Denline builders. And we can't thank these guys enough.

(33:45):
And you work really close with all of them. And
we'll talk about about the developers at Quiet Well here
in a minute. But we got to thank those guys, right.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
They're great. Yeah, we work real close for months. We
get to know each.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Other real well, we're dating a little bit. Yeah, I
bet they have your cell number.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
They do.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Let me give it on the air real quick in
case anybody has any questions. I'm just kidding with that.
But but Allen Builders, for these guys to get involved
in this, what is the timeframe? And and I know
Toby last week said, look, it's it's a year out.
Are you starting to look at twenty twenty six already?

Speaker 3 (34:20):
I have been for probably about three months now, so
we've we've already picked next year's sites and now the
builders are signing their contracts and signing up already.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Anything special for the eightieth anniversary of this thing.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
So what we have in store right now is possibly
having three sites.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Wow, good for you, right, get some sleep now, right?

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Yeah, so that that could be. We have in the
past had three sites. We used to have three sites,
but you know COVID kind of yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
Well, and this would be the eightieth head in that
been for COVID, Right, you had to take one year
off like everybody did. Yeah, it's seventy nine and the
longest running. This is the original parade of homes we are.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
That's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
But anyways, but this is what this prayer of homes
is for just people, just you know, with the whole
Amazon and it just goes online and buy something. Right,
there's people out there that want to see want to
see it. I want to you know, be there, feel it,
smell it. Whatever they want to do. I mean they
want they want to, they want to. They got to
go look at the imagine because you look at the
pictures on it. You can look at floor plans. Oh yeah,
looks nice that you stand in front go oh my gosh,

(35:30):
I put three of my houses.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
In this house, and and and the builders are there
so many questions developers, right.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
You can ask present at every home for you to
talk to and get all the information you need.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Boy, I love that. Go to NBA preadivehomes dot com
again times eleven to five on the weekend Saturday and Sunday,
and then Labor Day that last day you look forward.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
To that I do. I mean that Labor Day is
typically our busiest weekend that we have, and so but
it's it's exciting at the same time because it's like
you've made it all this time and it's just a
fun I mean, I enjoy everything from the start to
the finish, I really do. It's just fun, it's real.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
How do you pick? Do you just drive between the
two and just hang out and are you there every So?

Speaker 3 (36:17):
I have site staff that actually work the site. I
mean there's I think we have probably close to fifteen
people between the two sites that work. They're they're directing traffic,
they're taking tickets, they're doing all that.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
But yes, even you know Jimmy, I know Jimmy for
a long time. Jimmy and his wife are there.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
Yeah, yeah, but that two separate. I love that. Toby's
like there are two the one, Jimmy's at one, his
wife's at the other.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
I wouldn't be able to do it without them. They're amazing.
I'm really grateful for them.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
And so you can't go like up north on vacation
this time?

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Yere kid, No, I really don't take vacations.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
You wouldn't be the best director of events. I that
if you were in Canada fishing or something right now,
probably not where nobody could get a hold of your
via cell phone. That would that be great.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
Total, he was just in Alaska, I mean, yeah, I
give him a hard time about that.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Yeah, but he set that trip like three years ago.
But did he light up when he talked about it?
He said he loved it. Wow, he showed some pictures
that were unbelievable. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no doubt. Hey, Pam,
when when this is over, right, let's just go to
September twond Do you just start moving right into home

(37:24):
building Modeley's show Springter What What? What? What is? Can
you take a little time and just decompressed for a minute?

Speaker 3 (37:32):
Not really, I mean yes, I mean I won't take
a vacation or anything, but I do try to. It
does calm down a little bit.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
January ninth through the eleventh.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
Yes, right around, and we're already I'm working on that.
We're getting booth sold and we're working on that right now.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Are there still two selves? So if people are stilling just.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
In the beginning of that. So if you're interested, let
me know. I've got I've definitely got room for people.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
What happens when initial is over with the next one
community he starts getting together and this thing all starts
coming together.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Yeah, it does. And the next big thing is our
awards dinner, which will be the awards for the Predi home.
So this is the coveted people's choice award and all
the well you have allowed me to be involved for
a while.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
I would recommend finding new MC because you know, and
I've done it and no hard feelings, but you know,
well I appreciate that, but you know, sometimes they need
to hear a different voice. But I tell it all
the time that the most impression changed, they do change.
They do change. Yeah, and I'm one hundred percent average,
So I got a lot more stories. What I'm always

(38:39):
impressed with that event is the people that are competing
against each other for awards. The people that don't win
it are the first one standing with a standing ovation
for the people that did win it. And then they're
always over high five and taking pictures. And I'm like, boy,
I look as a basketball coach, I'm not standing up

(39:00):
up for the guy that I just got beat by.
I'm not. But you know what, everybody is so gracious
and they know how hard it is to do the
things that they do.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
Yeah, they all support each other, which is great. Yea,
they know how hard it is.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
One hundred percent. We're going to get to a break.
Other side of the break will continue our conversation the
NBA Parade of Homes today from eleven to five, Tomorrow
eleven to five, and then right up until Labor Day
Tuesday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Go to NBA preadefhomes
dot com and again you can save some money by

(39:33):
ordering Monday Off. No, I don't think she does. Toby
does not allow that.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
No, he doesn't.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
He cracks a tight whip done. He's such a good dude.
I'm a huge fan of his. Again, NBA preadive homes
dot com. This is the Creative Construction Wisconsin Home improvement
show on Fox Sports ninety twenty and your iHeart Radio app. Well,
welcome back to the Creative Construction Wisconsin Home Improvement You're
on Fox Sports nine twenty in your iHeartRadio app as always,

(40:01):

largest employee owned HVAC company in the state of Wisconsin.

Creative Construction Wisconsin and our special guest.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
It's been a quick hour, pamp bring up. We're just
talking about off during the break. Aren't you excited about
next weekend? You know what's going on next weekend.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
High school football. Yeah, that's Friday Night Rivals. Friday Night
high school football game of the week. By the way,
Friday Night six thirty pregame show on Channel twenty four
seven o'clock kickoff, I go a half hour pregame show.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
We're having a broad party at for indy car drivers.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
What time on Friday.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
Between six and eight? So I won't be able to
make your after school thing.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Well after at eight o'clock, you can drive them. Dominie
falls because we're going to be there live during the Marquette,
Well Marquette against Arrowhead game. He follows, because.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Car parks, you got all the cooking, so I'm sure
we got to clean it up, so I'll be busy
with that.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
And what time is it from six to eight? Yeah,
so I can't even swing by and get a broad
I can throw.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
I could throw one over the fence.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
No, you can break the next week, I.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Baby, I appreciate your concern when you called me up
last week because he saw to turn one and was
underwater and the racing in time.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
Pamber. You a race car fan? You know?

Speaker 3 (41:25):
Yes? I mean my kids are. I do watch it.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
I don't know much about it, so I'm the oddball
in this studio because Spencer's like, we we need to
record the show next week so we can go out
to State Fair Park and watch trials or time trials
or like last week when when you said, oh, he's
at a dirt track, I was like, what's that like? Dirt? Like,

(41:48):
what's the matter with you?

Speaker 2 (41:49):
Iowa, that's what that's what a big dirt raise was.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
Yeah, he lit up like a Christmas treat.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
My grandson is really into the Formula one racing, so
that's what we watched.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
What is his name, Frankie? Frankie. If you're listening, Frankie,
you should see your what does he call you? Mimi?
Is light enough like your Christmas tree? How old is Frankie?

Speaker 3 (42:09):
For?

Speaker 1 (42:09):
For one grandchild? To who's the second one?

Speaker 3 (42:14):
It's a girl. She's two and her name is Scottie Lou.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
Scottie Lou. Who's in charge? Scotty Lou? Yeah, we have
I have six five grandsons and then two year old
Hadley Grace mcgivner, and she is in charge. She's this little.

Speaker 4 (42:30):
Peanut that no papa And I'm like, what do you mean? No,
you can't say you're in my house, watching my TV
in my food No, I watch Bluie. I go where
I'm watching a baggage and guess what comes on Blue?

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Yeah, I can't you know what I can't say? No
for sure? Hey did did they come out? Has Frankie
come out.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
To the on the opening morning? So that was fun.
They got to see all the opening day stuff.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
Hey, let's let's go over to if we can. And
we we we talked a lot about We talked about
Saint Jude and and and that quiet Wood we have
not really talked much about. And we only got a
couple of minutes. I said, look, those are the big dogs, right,
those are those are the big dogs. And tell me

(43:14):
a little bit about some of the homes that people
are going to see there the Victory Home from Saint Germain,
Victory Home and Burg custom Homes.

Speaker 2 (43:22):
Right, anything at least go through that home.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
Yeah, the b Bird Customs Homes. This is our first
year in the parade and they have hit a home run.
Let me tell you, They've got everything in that house.
It's just really cool to see. But what's crazy this

too much to do with each other.

every year. They just they feel like that's just what
they need to do. Their presences out there, and they
like people having the opportunity to come and see their
houses every year.

Speaker 1 (44:30):

when you when you look at the pictures of the

us backyard set up. This's really nice. It's just one
of them. There's two, yeah, there there's two. They have
two separate areas, so you have two separate parties if you.

basketball court, the berg Home, the Victory Home, the Victory Home,
