November is Epilepsy Awareness Month. My guest is Channing Seideman, who dreamed of being a doctor - and - an Olympic champion, until her dreams were sidelined by an epilepsy diagnosis at age 10.
Channing has invited us in to understand how this devastating condition affects her daily life, and the lives of her parents, who've been helping her for more than 20 years to navigate the seizures, the medical system and support her efforts to fund an epilepsy research project.
Her dad, Rob Seideman, joins us for a bit of the conversation. Other than being Channing's father, he works as the Executive Director of May We Help, a non-profit that changes lives by envisioning adaptive technology, designing it, building it, and providing it free to those who need it in the Tri-State.
