(00:00):
Welcome to the finally on time.I'm still fun podcast. Yay, look
at us, don't yeah, don'tget used to it. Who knows when
the next vacation or whatever will happen, So for a while for me,
What about you at the end ofthis month? Okay, so like the
last week of July, that Monday, we drive back on Monday, we're
(00:21):
just going to Door County, sowe'll have to do it on Tuesday.
Okay, Okay, sounds good thatanother late one in a few weeks.
It'll still happen. At least thisis be like a little later, still
on the right day. How isyour weekend? It was good, man.
I went into crazy organizational cleaning modeyesterday. Like I got into my
(00:43):
hallway closet. I have so manylike random hair products and cleaning products and
towels and all this crap and ourbathroom cabinets, and I cleaned all that
and organized all of it. Ithrew out so much stuff. We have
so much expired medicine, which isconcerning time, and we do too.
Yeah, you should look at thatbecause one time in college I was like
on my deathbed and I woke upand I just you know, you had
(01:03):
that cough that you're so tired, you want to sleep, but you have
a cough that's keeping you away.So I went into cough medicine. Literally
sixty seconds later, I was likesitting on the toilet, absolutely dying.
My stomach was in so much pain. And I looked in the cough medicine
was like three years expired. OhGod, so that's your number one thing
you should like ad in your medicinecabinet is like throw it expired cough medicine.
Okay, I did it one othertime a few years later, and
(01:27):
it wasn't as bad, but itmade me sick again. So anyways,
my weekend was good, but I'mlike, I feel like I'm going home
to a new home so much.I cleaned so much, Andrew, I
mean, we had big storms inour neighborhood, did you guys, Senmit
Trista don't know. We did,but not like you guys in our power
was not knocked out. And becauselike Colt came home and from his trip
(01:49):
and his power is still out.Yeah, he said it's supposed to come
back on maybe tonight. I knowhis because Colton and I live pretty close
to each other. Luckily, ourside, so our power went out for
me maybe fifteen seconds because I wasawake when it happened, and then it
was fine, So we were lucky. But I had talked to Tina too,
and like their power is out,and I was like, man,
(02:10):
if I didn't have AC yesterday,I would have been so miserable. Cold
said, it wasn't that bad.His only concern is his animals. Honestly,
he was like worried leaving them today, and he's like, I think
they're gonna be fine, but likehe was a little stressed about that.
I was like, oh, Ididn't even think about that. Yeah,
it's a good point. Yeah.We had three dogs this weekend, which
we don't normally do, but itwas all dogs we've watched before. In
one was kind of a last minutesituation, and I went downstairs and I
(02:32):
closed our sunroom door because I don'ttrust the big tree in our backyard to
not fall. And then also oursunroom isn't as sturdy obviously there's lots of
windows, so I shut that sonone of the dogs could go in there.
One of the dogs is absolutely terrifiedof thunderstorms, and yeah, we
have him sleep upstairs with us.Whenever we watch him. But I literally
couldn't find him. And then I'mlike looking in our we have kind of
(02:53):
a walk in closet in our bedroom, and I'm looking in there and I
can't see him, and I finallysee a little nose poke out behind Andrew's
clothes. He was so buried deepin He has like some call me and
medicine that the owner gives us somestuff because he's always been terrified. But
I like laid with him for awhile, and then I just couldn't sleep
myself. I was like kind ofanxious myself. Honestly, I don't know
(03:15):
why, because I had already seenone huge tree fall down in front of
our house, and then a bunchof big branches from Marchori in the backyard
had fallen that. I was justkind of nervous, like is a tree
gonna fall in my house? Yeah, seriously, I was just kind of
nervous. I woke up and sawyour damage, and I was like,
oh, what happened last night?I was I didn't hear anything. I
mean, I knew it was storming, obviously, No nothing like that that
(03:37):
I saw near me. At leastthere were trees down throughout other neighborhoods like
near mind, Like on my wayto pull out is there's a tree down
kind of blocking the road, andI'm like, eh, no, I
was out. I had all ofalone all weekend. So when I went
to bed at night, I thinkI slept like a rock for sure.
Yeah, so didn't hear the stormsand all of us like that dog she
scared a storm, so you know. Yeah, so I was actually waiting
for her to be, like forme to have to put her in bed
(03:59):
with me or something, but shedid not. She slept there too.
Oh look at that. I woreher out too, So it worked out.
That's good. We did the likefirefly viewing thing, and it's interesting
because I got the arbretom. Yeah, and I grew up seeing lightning bugs
yep, so you know obviously thepicture that they show for the arboretum,
she was like a bunch of lightningbugs. It looks really cool, and
I didn't know what to expect.I did not realize it's literally just you
(04:25):
see a bunch of lightning bugs fireflieslighting up. And it was cool because
usually the arboretum's closed, so youget to walk through the path and like
they have like tiny little fake littletea light candles, you know, the
light in the path, but otherthan that, it's dark and you just
see lightning bugs. But I waskind of like I saw this every single
night growing up in Indiana on afarm, so it wasn't like that unique
(04:46):
to me. I had no idea. Like Dylan, my stepson Hannah,
they said they had like never seenfireflies before because they grew up in like
Egan Bloomington in the suburbs where theyjust wroke, we hadn't seen them.
And I was like, really,it was mind blowing to me that people
haven't regularly seen fireflies or lightning bugs. I wouldn't have thought that either,
because I mean I didn't grow upin the country, but we had firefly
(05:09):
scenari yard all the time growing up, so I definitely yeah around them.
Someone DMed me and they're like, yeah, it's odd you don't see them
around here that often. And Ijust started thinking about it. I'm like,
you know what, I don't thinkI can recall seeing them. And
now I live in an area thatwe have like a couple of acres and
not that I'm out like in thewooded part behind our house, but I
(05:30):
don't feel like I really see them. So I was like, Oh,
that's interesting't I know this weekend?Oh I'm going to go see the new
Twisters movie this week are you?Yeah? That's one thing. I actually
did like the original me too alot, but I was very scared of
tornadoes growing up, so I wasn'tlike a huge fan of it, but
I would go see that. Iusually that would not be like my style
(05:51):
of movie, but I remember reallyliking the original, and I like both
people, Glenn Powell and Daisy EdgarJones and the new one, and I
was like, I'm gonna go seethat. So Jake and I are doing
a little like date night on Wednesdayto check it out nice. And then
I know, I haven't looked atthe weather, but I'm planning on going
to the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival thisweekend, which I know you said you
were too, but I was like, I if it rains like it has
(06:16):
every single other day here in Minnesota, that's gonna suck. I think it's
looking good for Friday and then Saturday. There's a small percentage of Saturday the
day I want to prefer. Iknow when I was talking because you would
message me and you're like, well, what are you going both days?
Are you just going to one?And I of course want to see Acts
on both days, and I reallydon't want to go to both days.
(06:38):
And Andrew's in the same boat wherehe's just like really busy at work right
now, so he's like, Idon't want to go to both days,
but I feel like I'm going toend up being there, so I don't
know what I'm gonna do yet.I probably will end up being there both
days. If I didn't have achild, I'd probably would definitely do both
days because I really want to seeAtlantis. But Jake, I think,
(07:00):
is more about word hot Chili Peppersthan I do Atlantis, So he's like
always wanted to see them and Iknow that, so I was like,
let's just go that night. Also, the Offspring is so fun, so
I'll be into that. I rememberwhen they posted that and the response from
young people were like, oh,so that's like an old person festival,
and I was like, oh mygod, Wow, all the comments were
like that, and I was like, oh, sorry, get Hendrick Lamar.
(07:23):
Yeah, apparently we're the old thisis an old person festival. People
were like the younger people were notimpressed with the lineup. It made me
feel so old. I feel like, I know a lot of people go
into it, but I guess I'mold though you are old, Jenny,
you're over thirty gross you know.So oh wow, Can I tell you
one thing that happened over the weekendthat yeah, okay, So not to
(07:47):
make this about sex all the time, because I know we touched on that
quite often recently, but Andrew crawlsinto bed on Saturday night. He was
downstairs play in video games and hecurls in and he was like, oh,
are you ready? And I waslike, money, mean ready,
you know, I'm like ready forwhat? And he goes for TV or
(08:09):
peep and I go, never fuckingsay that ever again in your entire life.
He doesn't know. No, hedoes not know the story, nor
unless you listening to this podcast, will you ever know. But I will
tell it now that Geet brought upOh, I will never forget. It
didn't even happen to me, butbasically, somebody I had been like hanging
(08:30):
out with for a little bit.We had been hooking up, and he
would say, do you like thathard peepee? To me, and I
so grossed out by it, andso I don't anytime anytime I don't like
that, I can't. I can't. I just can't get past it.
So I started laughing so hard. But then he's just laughing as he thinks
(08:52):
he's really funny, you know,And I'm like, man, oh,
like I want to tell you,but I don't want to tell you because
I probably wouldn't want to know thestory, like ros reversed. I probably
would tell Jake just because he's butI also get it. I would if
I would not want Jake to tellme, you know. So we had
a good laugh. I think Ilaughed a little bit harder knowing what I
know. Yeah, well, whatdid you choose? Did you choose the
(09:13):
TV or the PP? Jenny? The TV? We did the we did
the PP earlier. Yeah, no, I went, I went, Okay,
I don't normally do this anymore, but I did put some faked ham
stuff on myself this weekend because Iwas supposed to have Lake patrol on Saturday.
I am so pasty. And therewas a boat of fifty gay dudes
that were going to be out there, and they were out there last year
(09:35):
when I was on the boat withthem, and they're all tanned and fitting
in their little speedos. I waslike, if I get on this boat
with them again, I cannot looklike the pasty little white girl. Yeah,
so I put on some tanning stuff. I put on this like hot
pink bikini, and then no oneto show it off to. The gaye
didn't get to see it. SoI got home and I was like,
well, nobody else saw this,so I'm gonna walk into the living room
(09:58):
and show him my bikini. Yeah, like you know, yeah, And
so things escalated from there. Wow, we had already done that earlier in
the day. You were set.Yeah, I was like, let's watch
the TV. That's a risky moveto get that tanner on. Wherever you
guys were banging to off, itwas already I'd put it on like Friday,
you do look tanner. Yeah,it's only yeah, I mean it'll
be almost tanner one more day andthen it'll be gone. Not that your
(10:20):
face doesn't, but there's a lightbeaming directly on your face, so I
can't tell. Well, I useso many face products for my skincare routine
that I think that like, basicallyafter one day of putting some stuff on,
it just wipes it off. That'swhat I was like. So every
day at Din't today I have makeupor mover wipes in my car because now
I actually put on makeup every morning. I'm like, I'm not gonna leave
that on all day. So everyday I leave the Jason Show last week
(10:43):
and continue on and I just wipemy face as I'm driving to get like
at least the majority of it off. And I use like little face tanning
drops frequently, and I'm like,is this just wiping it off every single
day when I do this, Idon't know, but I'm like, great,
that's probably what's happening. It feelslike it is because there's usually some
form of like alcohol, weird substancechemical in it that guarante off away isn't
(11:07):
good for her natural skin anyways, but yeah, it does the job.
So by the way, I sawthis thing and I want to try it
there. Do you know who AbbyYoung is? She's a local influencer,
but she's very very pop hair.Hair stuff is her main thing. Okay,
so I hadn't heard of her.But Charlie is a guy who owned
He was a co owner of HouseSalon, he sold his part, moved
(11:28):
to Hawaii. Just love You're saultyabout that because he used to cut your
hair cut my hair. But lovedhim in general. But he still comes
back occasionally. But I don't seehim anymore because it's too rarely. But
he said he cut her hair, and he's like, you follow her.
She's a really big hair influencer, and I was like, no, but
I looked her up. She hasbeautiful, long blonde hair blah blah blah.
(11:48):
She posts great reviews of stuff likeI love her reviews because she doesn't
give like she is honest and shedoesn't just promote expensive stuff. She did
one not that long ago that Igot really into. It was like trying
all mascaras, which, by theway, she said that she and she
showed the difference. She uses theblink technique for every stroke she puts on
her eyes. She blinks and itmade her lashes look bigger on the one
(12:11):
side than the other. I haven'ttried it, but she said people went
after her about how stupid she lookeddoing it. She's like, I don't
care because the results are better. But she was showing all the different mascara
types in which one actually is best, and her reviews are very detailed and
good. But she just posted, there's like this trend where I can't remember
what kind it is, but it'slike this scalp cleaning treatment, and she
(12:33):
went she could not find a placein Minnesota that offered this, and she
finally found one and she went,it's like a ninety minute thing where they
do all these different like it's almostlike a facial and your head and you're
getting all these treatments on your hairand then like red light therapy and they
show you, like on the machinebefore how dirty or hair follicles looking after,
(12:56):
But just the treatment in general lookedbecause I love facials. They're so
relaxing and cause you get like theneck and shoulder massage too. But I'm
like, damn, ninety minutes andyou're getting your hair messed with two,
which I love. I'm like,I'll will get into that. I don't
know if you've heard of that.If you heard of that kind of like
scalp cleaning facial treatment thing, it'svery poppy. It's I don't want to
(13:16):
get it wrong. It is definitelyan Asian salon. She went to that
specialized in it, Okay, butI don't know the exact culture, so
I don't want to misspeak and soundcompletely ignorant. Basically, I haven't heard
of it, but it sounds extremelydelightful. Yeah, and I would definitely
try it, and I have. She said it was really hard to get
into the only reason she does shegot lucky on like a cancelation thing.
(13:39):
But I believe, but it couldbe wrong. It was in Burns Bill
or something, so not a comallocation for me, But I mean I
would. If you follow her onInstagram you can probably figure out yep,
yeah, Abby Young. Yeah, but I think it has a unique spelling.
I'm sure if you type an AbbyYoung hair you find her on TikTok
or on Instagram. But anyway,I thought that was like a cool little
thing. Thing. I love that. Yeah. Can I show you one
(14:01):
thing that I did find while Iwas organizing my house? Yes, okay,
these are books that I have hadrandomly in some bin somewhere. She
has two books that are smaller thanthe Bible. Yep. Little one reads
how to give a mind Blowing bjand the next one reads sex Physicians over
(14:24):
one hundred truly explosive tips. Solet's play a game. Give me a
number between one and one hundred sixtynine. Dah, well, no,
don't do sixty nine, because that'sprobably gonna be that actually sixty nine.
Yeah, okay. Forty two.Okay, I'm going to just read you
one. I thought we'd play afun little game because I'm going to donate
these stupid wow lucky recipients. Allright, forty two philm this feels like
(14:48):
this would I'm going to show youthe picture after I read it. Okay.
I feel like this might suit you. I feel like a child where
I get to see the picture afteryou read the page. Okay. So
it says this is the Sex Positionsbook. Sit on your partner's lap with
him inside you and distract each other. Lean out of the window and look
at the garden. Watch TV.Why talk about your day. The longer
you can manage to write it out, the better the end results. So
(15:09):
literally, they're both in the picturedoing their own thing. Penetration is happening,
okay, sort of. So whenyou describe it, at first,
I thought they both were leaning out. No, she is leaning to the
right watering a flower. He's lookingto the left reading his book. So
there's no she's straddled over him andapparently, but I just think, wow,
(15:31):
it's so funny. These were booksthat my best friend gave me in
college. I really forgot about them, and I was like, Okay,
well, I'm gonna be honest. These most likely were probably written not in
like the not for the female.I say, probably especially well, I'm
just a mind blowing blowjobs. Oneblowjob on them. Just take a number
five five. Okay, we gottago back to the beginning. I feel
(15:54):
like, now that I have morestorage in my house than my last one,
I'm just collecting more and more shits. I'm so jealous that you're getting
rid of staff. I too,I'm getting rid of so much. Okay,
so these are tips, and itsays cover your teeth with your lips.
The odd nip here and there isfine, but he doesn't want you
to treat his delicate tool like anear of corn. Along the same lines.
(16:17):
Don't play rough unless he asks forit. Yanking back the foreskin,
sucking too hard, pumping up anddown like you're trying to draw water from
a dry well, and snagging anypart of it on jewelry are all no
nos. So yeah, this feelslike he's yeah, written for someone who
has no idea how to give ablowjob, the abycs of blowing it,
I guess. Anyways, look forthis in your local goodwill wow things.
(16:41):
That is a gift right there. If this was a live podcast, we
could do a giveaway right now, that'd be very beautiful. I thought about
it. I was like, God, should I like give these away whatever?
But they're probably going to go intoa donation. Then that will sit
in my donation area for three tofive months. Listen. I had my
shoes and clothes sitting in the laundryin like the mudroom laundery room for probably
(17:02):
three months. And finally I waslike, I think there's one of those
boxes, like the big bins youcan drop clothes in right by all of
swim. So on Sunday threw inmy car. There was donated them.
So I did do a little cleansingmyself. I guess finally it didn't feel
good, glorious. It's so nice. I need to do more because I
can fit into a lot of myclothes I had been saving again. Yeah,
(17:23):
and now I have too many clothesagain, so I need to get
rid of stuff. But I've beenso good with my clothes lately. I
did buy some from my recent trip, but I only wore like two things,
and I did go and return everythingelse. I didn't just like keep
it to T I was like, return that shit. I do want to
read an email because I know we'regoing to get into some ask me questions.
(17:44):
Yep, but this came from Rochellesays high phaluon Jenny, you are
my favorite podcast to listen to everyweek. I was so happy when you
started this up after POUM moved toafternoons. I'm excited to watch Fallon on
The Jason Show. I used towatch regularly with when my kids were babies,
but had to give but on mostTV as they got older. Even
the checking the local weather, we'llcut to a news story about a dead
(18:04):
body found in a trash can inMinneapolis. Now that they're both heading off
to school in the fall, Ican watch Fallon on the Jason Show.
Thank you, And then it saysI'm listening to your podcast about your hikes
And have you guys ever checked outthe Minnesota DNR Hiking and Passport Clubs?
I heard about them on Facebook.Minnesota women who hike group. I got
mine in the mail, and I'mexcited to have a push out the door.
(18:26):
My family didn't do camping or hikinggrowing up, so I've never been
to Itasca or the Boundary water. So this gives me some structure to exploring
Minnesota nature. You should check itout. And then she sent the link.
But I have heard of it before. It's kind of a stamp you
can get or something. But maybeyou can correct me if I'm wrong.
But it's like a book. It'skind of like a National Parks book or
(18:47):
like something like that. But it'sokay. It's only like fifteen bucks too.
It's pretty true. I'm in thewomen who Hike Like Minnesota facebook group.
I don't see a lot of stuffon it because I don't. I
don't think I look actively too often. Sometimes when I'm like, oh,
I want to do something, I'llgo look. And I thought about doing
one of their group hikes before, just hasn't worked out with my schedule because
I was like, oh, that'ssomething I would do with like maybe Jenny
(19:08):
or something. But that sounds reallycool, and yeah, same with you
did not grow up hiking at allor even really doing even though we grew
up on a farm the only outdoorstuff. That's not true. I mean
I played outside all the time, but like we didn't. I just think
that it's a different lifestyle you're outside, But I don't know, we weren't
(19:30):
like hiking or anything. Yeah,I don't think that hiking is probably a
prominent thing in the area of IndianaI grew up anyway, So I mean
you grew up there. I grewup in Wisconsin. There's not hiking in
terms of like big intense hike opportunitieswith like some easy hikes involved in there
too, Like we don't have mountainswhere we could still go do an easy
(19:51):
hike at it and have the mountainview. We Yeah, I didn't grow
up hiking either. We went tothese places that we probably would say we
went hiking at, but it wasbasically just a walk around like cool nature
areas. Yeah, I will saytoo. Just going back to the Jason
Show really quick, it's been likean official full week and it's been really
(20:11):
really nice. Everyone's been so supportiveand kind And I was waiting until the
Star Tribute article came out to actuallytalk about that experience. Honestly, I
wanted to see the final like printof it and see how she put everything
together. And the journalist who didit, Rachel, it was so nice.
(20:33):
She did such a nice job.She is a fantastic writer. I
mean, there were like so manythings she put together in comparisons that had
nothing to do with my interviews thatwere really flattering and kind and I'll do
a little behind the scenes. Iwasn't even going to do that interview.
I had told Jenny. I wasn'tgoing to do it. I told my
(20:56):
therapist before we you know, graduated, and I wasn't going to do it.
And the reason being is because Ihave had a history of agreeing to
do interviews with people and they likewill ask me questions about my ex and
some people only want to ask mequestions even when I specifically will be like,
(21:21):
hey, out of respect for thisperson, I don't want to talk
about it. And so when Istarted talking to Rachel and I said,
hey, I've been burned, Soif you want to ask me anything about
that, I'm not going to talkabout it. It's a respect thing,
and more so than respect also itwill not more so, I guess,
but like we both have moved on, We both have families. I feel
(21:42):
like it's like so unfair, andit also makes it look like I can't
let it go and move on,like I'm bringing it up and I'm like,
I don't want to talk about thisanymore, and it's like Jake doesn't
care. But also, why arewe spending more time talking about that that
Like I am married to a differentperson with children, blah blah blah.
You can go on and on.So I understand the fascination and I understand
(22:06):
people having questions, but I justthink some people can be really disrespectful and
I have felt that way in thepast, and it just sucks because it's
like so I was like with her, like, if you're going to talk
about that or ask me about it, I know, I can't tell you
how to write your article. It'syour article, and I don't you don't
(22:26):
get to even see the final article. You just don't because that's like journalistic,
integregate or whatever whatever word I'm lookingfor, and so you don't get
to But she was like, no, I totally get what you're saying.
I respect it, and it doesit. I don't know. I just
I just wanted to say thank youto her. I think for actually respecting
(22:48):
me and realizing that maybe there areother things to me than a relationship that
I was in many, many, many years ago. Right, I mean
you and Jacob been together for whatwe've been, Yeah, we've been I
think I think I should know it'sgoing to be like we've been married over
six years at this point, likecoming up, and it's just wild.
(23:08):
It's like, in almost any normalsituation, why would anyone be bringing up
someone's ex period. And I understandlike what you said, like there's like
a weird fast fascination because whatever,But it's just so disrespectful to you and
your partner as well as the otherperson involved. So I don't understand why
(23:30):
it has to have been a topicin other interviews. It makes no sense
to me, and it like irksme. And when you got the article
and you saw it for the firsttime, you sent me the link and
I was literally in the middle ofTarget, like walking around in the cart
with my phone like trying to readit, knocking into people, and I
was like, Okay, this islike a good article. Yeah, I'm
very happy. Well, the firstwhen I sent you, I think why
(23:52):
I might even called to you.I like was crying I lost a lot
of sleep over it. I wastexting my ex apologizing first, I don't
even know what this is going tosay. I was completely bamboozled. I
was like caught off. It wasa bad situation for me, and so
I was like, I think I'lljust never do an interview ever again.
(24:15):
And so I'm bad around. Ifeel bad for her because I mean I
would didn't even respond for like aweek, and then I'd say like maybe,
and then I'd be like, Idon't think so. And so she
was very thoughtful and thorough. Andit's not that it needed to be something
that painted me as a perfect person. I just didn't want that little speck
of my life to be a focuson the article because in the past it's
(24:38):
been like, oh, let's focuson how you have your own show,
and so few women do pivot.Let's only talk about your ex, so
right, and that takes away Ijust feel like it takes so much away
from who you are as a person, because I mean, I know you.
I've known you for a long time, like what ten plus years now,
almost, Yeah, Like I metyou when I in college, and
(25:00):
so it's like I have seen youlike transform, but I don't like look
at you know, and think likeI need to know this information that happened
eight years ago to make a liketo gain an idea of who you are,
Like I would want to focus onwhat you've done and where you're at
and your at this point in lifenow, you know. Yeah, I
don't know. I just feel like, yeah, when people make when they
(25:22):
say that they won't do something andthen they go against what they said that
they won't do, it's a veryunfair situation. But the article is really
nice, and yeah, go readit if you haven't ye listening and go
read those bars articles in the StarTrip. What's it title? Is there
a way you can just like Google? I think it's like tribune, Yeah,
my name, and then I wellthere, I think it's like vulgar
and vulnerable vulnerable yea. And buta lot of people, by the way,
(25:47):
were thought that the word vulgar wasrude. But I mean I think
I used that actually too hard todescribe myself, so I didn't take that
as a rude. A lot we'relike, you're not vulgar, You're real,
And I was like, ah,I mean I think I said I'm
vulge because I am a vulgar ladyat times? I know they probably don't.
They don't get to see the faulonwe get to see off air.
That's true, Like you can getonly to a certain amount on air.
(26:08):
Trust me, if you saw afallon anor you'd be like, yeah,
that bitch is vulgar. Okay, here are some more of the ask us
anything questions? Did we I wantto make sure I don't do all the
exact same ones we did. Productyou always have in your purse? Do
we do that one we did? How? Nope? Oh wait, have
(26:32):
you play the audio of the girlwho sent us? Yeah? Okay,
so a woman, Rebecca. Shesaid, not a question, but I
always sing the podcast title to yourshow to I'm just Kin from the Barbie
movie. And so she actually sanga voice memo and I was like,
oh my god, Rebecca, that'sso amazing. I'm going to play that
on the podcast. So Rebecca didnot give me permission to play this,
(26:53):
but since she sent it, Ithink we're fine. So here is her
version that we should just start usingas our actual show intro. Still fun
and Jenny's drinking days are done? What will it take to see plans?
More than a mom who just turnedfor and she actually can sing well,
(27:17):
so very bless. Yeah that wasawesome. Okay, so let me jump
back in. God, I shouldjust edit this out because someone said,
did you know that in last Nighthe isn't talking about kissing her lips on
her face? Okay? I sawlike either a meme or a TikTok or
(27:41):
something about it, and I didn'tdo any further details on it, so
I either kept I moved along. Is that the Morgan Wallan song we're talking
about? Okay? I don't know. I can't think of what the lyrics
sound like now last not Talk,I don't know. Okay. Oh,
(28:06):
here's a good question. How doyou know if someone wants to be your
friend or just wants to be seenwith you? Dealing with this now?
So I think she means because likewe work in radio, and like we
like, do people actually want tobe friends with you and I? Or
do they want to be friends withJenny from katiewb Fallon from KATIEWB. I
(28:29):
think for me, it's usually ifsomeone is I'm trying to think of an
example. There's one person in particularthat I could tell you probably wouldn't like
me as much if it wasn't forme being a part of KATIEWB. And
the reason I know that is becauseconversations often revolve around work, and when
(28:49):
I've talked about different career paths ornegative things that I've dealt with that work,
they have always turned it around tobe like, no, that's a
good job and stuff like that, and I'm like, you're not looking out
for me as a person, thenyou're looking out for me as Jenny KTWB.
So I kind of could see throughthat person pretty quickly. But I've
(29:11):
been pretty lucky to not really meettoo many people who I mean, they
might care that I work here, but it's not the reason they want to
be friends with me. Yeah,I mean, I definitely think it's interesting
because I don't think that someone I'mtrying to think about how to word this,
because I would never want anyone's feelingsto be hurt. I think that
(29:33):
well, I think, you know, if someone like listens to your show,
you usually can gather pick up onthat pretty quickly. And that doesn't
mean still that they just want tobe friends with you because of that,
But I think if they bring upthings pretty frequently about the show that would
be like a dead giveaway because like, I don't really want to overly talk
about my show outside of it,or like a bit we did or like
(29:56):
War the Roses, for instance,I don't really want to talk about that
necessarily. That doesn't mean if someonewas like, oh, that thing you
did the other day was really funny, that would be awesome. I've definitely
had the thing, you know, where people pretty quickly are like asking about
tickets to things. That's a deadgiveaway that they just aren't kind of using
you. But I when I hadall of I had people reaching out pretty
(30:18):
frequently wanting to set up like playdates with me, and that felt like
a couple of things because this iswhere I don't want to be insulting to
anyone, because I don't think anyonewas like trying to use me. I
think that they were like, Idon't have other mom friends. I see
this person who just had a kid, let's set a time to hang out.
But for me, I'm like,I don't know you. And so
(30:40):
for me, that did feel likeI felt guilty being like I don't want
to set up a play date withmy kid and you, because it felt
weird. I don't and I don'tthink that they were weird people. I
think that they were just it wasjust someone who, like I said,
they like when you're a mom,it can be very and iating feeling,
(31:00):
like especially if your other friends haven'thad kids yet, so I can see
where like maybe you're reaching out like, hey, you're the one person I
quote unquote kind of know would youwant to get together sometime? And I
always felt just awkward being like, how do you say no to that?
It felt like a weird thing tosay no to, like, no,
I don't want to hang out withyou and your kid. I don't know,
(31:22):
So that one, that one alwaysfelt that one isn't like being used
though. It just felt like astrange thing kind of And I don't know
how to explain it because I understoodthe one side of it, and the
other side of me was like,no, I'm not going to do that,
right, But yeah, I feellike the same as you. I
don't feel like most people. Earlyon, I had a girl who would
always invite me to stuff and thenimmediately tag take a picture and tag stuff,
(31:44):
and that always felt a little bitlike I was being used. Yeah,
So yeah, I've never I've beenlucky enough to say that nobody really
ever. I'm using you cause you'reJenny from katiew but I have no If
you quit tomorrow, I would nevertalk to you again. Jenny, whatever,
have you ever been up? Haveyou ever upset a friend or family
member by sharing something on the radio? Yeah? Oh yeah, I caused
(32:06):
big issues. Let's see, what'ssomething you've done recently that you were scared
to do? Gosh, do youhave an answer? I'm not thinking of
anything at the top. Well,my biggest thing would be just changing my
life's career. But I mean Iwas, and I was wasn't scared to
(32:28):
take on the Jason Show. Wasworried if it would be too much for
me. So far, it's fine. I guess mine to get super real
is My scariest thing was getting onanxiety medication. That was like super scary
for me. So that's definitely it. But I'm very happy I did yeah,
because it helped me out. That'sawesome. How are your mom and
(32:51):
dad doing? I miss hearing updateson them on the Morning show. That's
very kind of you. My momis good. She just have like a
really serious surgery on her. Itwas like to clear out some I think
like artery cloggage, but she's it'slike you wouldn't even know, like they
do such a good job. Hebare leaving to the cut even though it's
like down her entire throat. She'srecovering very well. My dad, I
(33:13):
think, just continuously has health issuesand I don't really know. I need
to call him. I play thegame off. He'll call me. I
wait way too long to return hiscall. So I am due for a
call with him. But he's hittingthat older age where it seems pretty consistent
when I talk to him something, there's an ailment there. And so yeah,
I think I told my sister thisother day when I thought about the
(33:35):
fact that my mom is like,I think she's turning sixty eighth this year.
That is not real to me.My mom is like in my mind
forever between forty and fifty years old. Yeah, seventy seems so old to
me. It's weird. So whenI'm like, why can't she like move
around or do this, I'm like, good god, she's almost seventy years
(33:58):
old. I did it just shedid You have a permanent age in your
mind for your mom? Yeah,I mean I would say probably closer to
like fifty, but I would sayin the last handful of years, I've
started to just like see age, yeah, take place in her face and
stuff. And it's just it's reallyweird to see that because when you're younger,
(34:22):
you don't really see the aging inyour parents' faces, but as you
get older, you're kind of startingto see that, and it's like,
that's the weird thing that I'm likestruggling with where I like see my parents
and I'm like, oh my gosh, like I can really see them getting
old, like right physically. Yeah, it's bizarre. Let's see, how
(34:45):
can someone ask a question without someonethinking they're passive aggressive? I think I
would need more information on that one. Yeah, okay, so I apologize
for not really knowing how to answerthat one. Are there topics that you
both agree are off limits? Notasking specifics just if there are? Oh
yeah, for sure. That wasthe same with every show, like any
(35:07):
any radio show, any like podcastthat people know your points of like points
of pain. I guess we couldcall it. We won't bring that up.
So yeah, I mean we mightseem like open books, but there's
like parts of our lives that willnever be shared, right, Like Fallen
and I probably know pretty much allof those things about each other, but
(35:31):
there's yeah, there's just there's alevel of respect and there's a level of
understanding and obviously a level of trustbecause Fallan knows things about my life that
a lot of people don't know, right and vice versa. Yeah, so
I think those are all of ourquestions. So thank you so much for
submitting those and or at least allwe have time for right now. But
(35:52):
we appreciate you listening and have anamazing week. I hope someone tells you
how hot you're looking, because youare looking. Why. Thank you.
